Physical Description: Kinye is a simple looking girl with a round face and perhaps more of her baby fat than she'd like to admit she's retained. She has dirty blonde-brown hair worn in a braid and large eyes that just compound her look of innocence. She has slightly crooked teeth.
Personality: Kinye is a simple girl - not practical, perhaps, but simple. Her curiosity moves in a straight line ('Babies grow in their mommy's belly? Does that mean they're full of soil? Is that why mommy's get fat?') and while she doesn't make the most obvious jumps of logic, with the right guidance you can always lead her to where actual answers are supposed to lay. Eventually. Kinye is never in a rush to get anywhere and even if she'll be the first to admit she's a little dumb (and easily impressionable and easily lead astray...), sometimes the adventure of getting to where an answer is can be more fun than knowing it all along.

The nice side of being simple, is that you don't really have to complicate things for yourself. Her priorities are in order (Family first!) and while Kinye has plans for her future, she doesn't have to come up with grand schemes about how she's going to get there. How do you get someone you kind-of-like to notice you? One step at a time and not worrying about it because hard work will get you there eventually. What did I start off doing again? Oh well, here's something for me to do! Despite being a little scatterbrained, Kinye certainly gets a lot done and is very prolific. Unfortunately, she's very bad at finishing the particular task she started. I appreciate you peeling all the tubers, but I was actually asking you to sweep. You were drawing a firelizard and you instead drew Weyrleader D'mon holding way too many fruits in his arms and looking confused. You should probably get rid of that.

But I like that. It holds value to me. No, you don't understand how much I cannot part with that. It's mine. And a lot of things are Kinye's. While she won't steal things that belong to others, nebulous things that she's unaware of the ownership of tend to be in the young woman's care and while she'll return things if asked for them like a walking lost-and-found, things in her possession for more than a week will become harder to part with and anything officially deemed 'hers' is held onto forever. In fact, if someone wasn't mysteriously throwing out stuff behind her back, she'd be a borderline hoarder. She just can't let things go she's attached to.

Unendingly cheerful, Kinye sees potential and beauty in nearly everything. Like Objects, she also gets fairly attached to people with the same ease - even if perhaps she shouldn't. Passing strangers are immediately friends until otherwise proven. While she will definitely avoid those who are mean or cruel to her, Kinye will always accept an apology immediately and allow perhaps an unhealthy friendship to subsist longer than it should. But she'll never offer up the apologies herself unless she was in the wrong.

History: One of the youngest children of a pair of High Reaches riders, Kinye has lived a fairly unremarkable but well loved life. Barely 4 when her eldest sister impressed she barely has any memories of Ashlyn where she didn't just have her blue and just accepted Gyafrith as a part of her in the same way that her parents' dragons were a part of them. Dragons were simply a part of people's lives and it was only as she got older that she began to realize that there was more than simply waiting that made people upset after not impressing - but that some people simply after waiting so long, went on to be a single being not attached to a dragon.

It was perhaps this revelation that made Kinye seek out some other way to further herself and trekking on after her older sister, Demanthra, sought out the arts. However, unlike Ashlyn she didn't have a melodious voice and unlike Demanthra, she had no talent with an instrument or writing songs. Instead, Kinye found that she had an eye for things - finding and holding onto lost things, but also for capturing things with even a piece of charcoal and paper. While not yet old enough to be trusted with more difficult mediums by the other artists who visit High Reaches, Kinye took to drawing like a dragon to flying.

Knowing how strongly Demanthra wanted a dragon of her own, Kinye chose to stay off of the sands to keep from 'competing' with her older sister until she impressed safely. Now that Monath - a green muse that Kinye loves to draw - is safely with Demanthra, Kinye waits to stand for the first time. Though she knows there will be more to being a rider than simply a muse and a companion - her simple soul will have to work hard to be a hero of Pern against the old enemy.
Other: Kinye has an eye for likenesses so her uh...questionable drawings are unmistakable in who they are meant to be. Whoops.
