"Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelp!"
The howl sounded very much like a cat yowling, but the word was unmissable inside the long, miserable yowl. It echoed a little, filling the silent, dark street and going unheard, as far as Hadaya knew, for the twenty eighth time. He thumped his little paws against the inside of the trash can, stretching up as high as he could on his back feet but finding no purchase on the slick metal.
"Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeasseeeeeeeeeee!"
He had been in there for about an hour after following a delicious smell and falling in to the bin as the lid gave way under him. It felt like an eternity. Particularly because he had eaten the source of the smell already, which was a half eaten hot dog that had been discarded for a reason he did not really care to know. Now he was starving and trapped forever, and it was the absolute worst.
Ever.
Where was Camelot? Chaonis? Navi? Would anyone ever find him? Would he be skin and bones when they did, or would he just be dead? How sad would they all be?! The last thing he ever wanted to do was make anyone sad, and he howled again in misery at the idea of it. He was panicking, scrambling at the side of the bin, jumping and failing to reach the rim. Why was this can so tall?! Or, better question, why were his legs so short?!
He'd never been good at jumping. Just falling.

Another nice night, another night of going out in this terribly hot outfit. Alphubel thought a bit grumpily as he started his patrol for that night. He had been wandering around the town for a bit, trying to pick up any trace of Negaverse activity and yet, just like most of the summer, there seemed to be none out. Maybe the Negaverse just liked winter better? It wouldn't be surprising at least. As he wandered about some of the always, he thought he heard someone yelling something, or someone being pushed into a trashcan. Either way, he wanted to check it out, even it if wasn't an agent. Even if it was just some thug stealing a purse or something, he could still help out, right? He turned the corner and heard the "Please!" that was screamed at it seemed to be... coming from the trash can! That was when Alphubel noticed the White Moon aura coming from it, and was a bit ashamed he hadn't caught it sooner. However, he thought the voice sounded... familiar? He quickly went over to the trash can and with the lid having fallen in, he had to move stuff around a bit, but was surprised when he was greeted by the small, light-haired, and pudgy guardian kitty that he had recently met. "Hadaya! What are you doing in there?!" He asked as he carefully maneuvered himself to lift the kitty out of the can and into his arms. "You okay?"

"Alphubel!!!"
Hadaya had never been happier to see any other human being in his entire life than he was this human in this moment. He immediately threw his body against Alphubel's when he was close enough, rubbing him and purring up a storm in his delight at being rescued. He craned upwards, rubbing his face against Alphubel's chin to thank him for the heroism.
"You saved me! I was stuck in there forever! I thought I was going to starve to death!!"
He did not mention that he'd eaten a hot dog while in there and it had only been an hour. He could not tell time, anyway, so what did he knew? As far as he was aware, it was another day entirely. He was a fraction of the cat he had been, he was sure of it. Rolling against his savior, letting his paws dangle, he purred louder.
"I'm very glad you heard me. I owe you my life!"

Alphubel almost dropped Hadaya as the guardian kitty did everything in his power to make sure that he was continually rubbing up against the knight in thanks. Alphubel tried to hold him as still as he could so that he wouldn't drop the cat. "Glad I could help Hadaya! I only wish I had gotten there sooner!" He couldn't tell if Hadaya had actually been stuck in there for a day, and he certainly wasn't going to check the trashcan for tell-tale signs of it. "It's okay Hadaya! But maybe you shouldn't go rooting around in trash cans again?" He didn't know what the cat had been doing, but considering the cat's... girth, the kitty had probably looked for food inside of the trash can and gotten stuck that way. It wouldn't be surprising at least. He sighed in relief that Hadaya was all right though. He could just imagine the terrible things that might befall Hadaya if he hadn't gotten there when he did! "Are you all right Hadaya? I can drop you off at home if you need it." After all, he didn't want the kitty wandering off and getting stuck in another trash can!

Hadaya, ever the dramatist, rolled over as best he could as he was being held, clearly too weak to support himself even when being carried and supported fully. He was purring up a storm, though, and the rumbles were strong enough to vibrate against Alphubel's hands and chest as Hadaya snuggled him.
"Yeah, I'm not the best jumper... I'll have to find easier targets. Why don't people just throw their half eaten food on the ground? They're wasting it anyway, and at least someone like me or other hungry cats could get to it easier if it's on the ground."
He sighed, thinking the whole world was backwards and unfair.
"Oh, I'm okay! I can walk back to the library from here. Camelot will take me home after patrol! I have to tell him all about being trapped, and you rescuing me!"
He would certainly make Alphubel out to be a profound hero, though Camelot had learned a long time ago that Hadaya saw the world a little differently than most others observing the same things: they were all much more intense and dramatic to the little scaredy cat.

Alphubel raised an eyebrow. Was that why the cat had been in there? Half-eaten food? Seriously, he was like a raccoon or something. However, Alphubel held onto him and sighed. "How about I take you to the library anyway. You have gone through so much tonight, it's better if you rest a bit rather than having to wander all the way back." He didn't say any of it sarcastically, but he did have a smile on his face, realizing that Hadaya seemed to blow things out of proportion. Before the kitty could reply, Alphubel was already on his way to the library, and he would make sure that Hadaya got safely inside. "You don't want to be eating stuff inside of trash cans or bins anyway. It's gross in there." At least the ground might be a bit less... disgusting. Alphubel was glad that he had gone out tonight, it would have been awful if he hadn't spotted Hadaya. He was somewhat glad that the kitty seemed to be Camelot's problem, the cat certainly got into quite a bit of mischief! Lithiasaur Last post from me! Thanks for the rp!

"That would be great!" Hadaya purred, oblivious to the fact that his harrowing story had been slightly undermined by outing himself as a fat head scavenger. The hot dog had been worth it, now that he was looking back on it.
He was almost asleep by the time they got back to the library, but he roused himself enough to thank Alphubel for the ride and hop down onto his small legs to go in through the front door of the library.
Camelot had not powered up yet, and was likely inside, but in his civilian form. Hadaya knew Alphubel was a friend, but he probably shouldn't go outing Camelot to everyone just in case they didn't already know. Or something like that, anyway.
All in all, it had not been a terrible day. Hadaya got a food and a friend out of the whole thing, which, really, was more than he could ask for all at once! He bounced into the library, eager to share his story with Camelot and Merlinite.
FIN!
