After leaving that horrible…trippy place, Kari was struck with several feelings…of course the first was a building worry for Evan…had he made it? She would have to maybe drop by the next day to find out…the next was an ever growing sense of dread…
Eipdote had seen her…and he had called out to her so clearly that meant she hadn’t fallen so far off the radar…which both was a discouraging notion, as well as a relief.
The third was the way her stomach had flopped when she had seen Stella. How long had it been since she had seen the lieutenant…but she had looked different…was she even still a lieutenant? Or had she become a captain like Epidote had.
Ugh.
With a sigh, Kari made her way to the nearest bench and sank down onto it, pressing the heels of her palms into her eyes. She was so tired. So utterly tired and the thought of going home and sleeping for a few days sounded like the perfect plan…but that involved moving…and she wasn’t sure she was quite up to doing that just now…so she would just sit and relax…and move later. That sounded like as good a plan as any.

It didn't take Stellerite long to navigate the crowd and locate the senshi who, from what the blonde could see was quite eager to get away. She didn't blame her, even if it was making it difficult to catch her attention.
The captain didn't want to shout, that would be drawing too much attention and she wasn't convinced that they were out of the woods until they were actually gone and home and away.
Aura's everywhere distorted her ability to even attempt to pinpoint the senshi's in the mess of everything but there-
On the bench sat her pretty little wallflower.
Carefully putting on her most non threatening appearance she made her way over. "Kari? Cutie, it's me. I've missed you."

The captains aura that was coming closer made Kari bristle…or at least it would have if she had the energy to bristle. The voice that went along with the aura both put her more on edge, and relaxed her, and she hoped that she had just dozed off and was dreaming. That would make things much easier.
When she finally forced her eyes open, she saw that it was indeed Stella and she sighed, moving over slightly on the bench, leaving enough room for the blonde to sit next to her if she so chose to.
“Hey, Stella…How did you find me…? I thought I made a pretty good go of getting out of there and disappearing. At least I was trying to disappear.” But you found me anyway. They would always find her…there was no way for her to be safe anywhere anymore.
It was nerve wracking and she hated the feeling. “…What can I help you with?” Pausing, Kari finally looked at the blonde captain again. “…You’re not hurt, are you?”

Fingers pressed against the front of her blouse, fanned out and pushing the silky fabric against her sternum like she was wounded. "Are you not happy to see me?" She did her best to make those blue eyes of hers wide and her lip pout in both a sad but pleasing manner.
Kari had scooted over but she didn't look happy to see her and that kept her standing.
"I always look for you cutie." A half-truth. "I missed you, so I followed. Do you want me to leave?" She took a step back, looking over her shoulder uncertainly before glancing back at the brunette.
"I...I've been better. I'm still standing right?" She drew her lip between teeth to worry down on it. "I know Epi was a tool, but I miss you. Don't you miss me?"

Kari waited for Stella to sit down, and when that didn’t happen and she took a step backwards, the senshi felt utterly confused. Obviously she had sought her out. Obviously she had to be tired too? “I’m not really happy to see anyone but my bed right now, if you want the honest truth. I’m glad though, that it was you who found me rather than Epidote…I’m not really a fan of people who threaten me all the time. It’s not…not really my style.”
Her voice had an edge to it that surprised her and she closed her eyes again, unable to look at Stella’s eyes. And her unhappy expression.
“You can sit down, you know. You don’t have to still be standing. I moved over for you. I know that…that whatever we just did was utter crap. You can’t be…not tired too…” English. What was English anyway? Words strung together. Stupid rules that really…someone made up for the fun of it. Language was stupid.
“I guess I missed you though. You look beautiful, Stella. Even after making it through hell, you look beautiful.”

"He gets a little too full of himself when I leave him on his own too long." Stellerite piped up, feeling the need to defend the actions of her 'partner'. "If you're too tired, I can leave you alone." The blonde made sure to sound very disheartened at the idea.
But then, she perked up as Kari asked her to sit and she complied. Despite what she wanted, she left space between them, though she made sure her hand was placed on the bench within reach of the brunette's fingers.
"It's easy to keep from focusing on the exhausting when I get to see you." Her cheeks flushed and her gaze turned downward as if she were embarrassed.

Kari was about to say something snarky, or at least that was what she told herself that she was going to do, at least until Stella finally sat next to her...and then it was as if there was suddenly an electric current flowing through the air between them...and their fingers were so close…
Swallowing, Kari shifted just slightly so the tips of her fingers touched the captains. “I’m nothing special though. Not enough to get anyone to focus on not being exhausted…” How long had it been since she had spoken to Stella like this? How long had it been since she had spoken to Stella at all? She had really missed her...it wasn’t something that she had realized, but now that Stella was here…
She missed someone caring about her...and not just caring about themselves.
Slowly, the senshi looked to the blonde and scooted closer. “I...I missed you, Stella...I’m really glad you’re okay…”

Inwardly Stellerite was grinning as tentative fingers brushed hers. Taking control of the situation as she always did, she took the brunette's hand in hers and laced fingers together.
When she turned her face towards the super, she smiled shyly, like she was ready to start over but couldn't tell if her toy was ready too. "I like you, doesn't that make you special enough? Why do you care about anyone else?" Her voice quivered as she scooted closer too, until her thigh pressed against the other woman's.
"Why'd you stay away for so long?"

When their hands were joined, Kari relaxed against her will, and when Stella moved closer, she relaxed even more, moving so her head fell onto Stella’s shoulder. “I just…wanted someone who was on my side…I don’t know.” Her eyes closed and she squeezed the hand she was holding, relishing the warmth of it.
“I guess...I just thought you were bad for me…so I figured if I did something else…stayed away from you I would be better off…that’s all…but…”
She drew Stella’s hand to her lips, kissing it lightly. “I might have been wrong about that…All I’ve been since I stopped seeing you is miserable…I’m sorry, Stella.” Kari felt so utterly tired. This was just the icing on the cake of her exhaustion, and she knew she should work on getting home before she did something stupid. Said something stupid.
“…Please tell Epidote to stop trying to kill me…and to stop killing people because of me…I…I don’t like it and I can’t stand it…”

Stella made it a point to pout at the senshi, taking advantage of the way Kari leaned into her to tug the girl into her lap. It wasn't nearly as comfortable, or fun, as sitting in the brunette's lap instead, but she was taking what she could get while she was able.
"Haven't I always been on your side cutie?" Sure, maybe they were on different sides technically, but the captain thought that where it mattered, they'd been on the same side until her brother ******** it up.
"Come back to me Kari," she cooed, leaning forward and pressing her lips gently against the woman's cheek. "We're better together aren't we?" Well, Kari was better with her as far as she was concerned.
"I'll reign him in if you promise never to leave me again." There was something dark and sultry in her voice when her lips moved to press against the curve of her jaw. "Why not leave all that pesky other stuff behind. You can join me you know, if you want. Come with me, we can make a home together. Wouldn't you like that?"

Kari was pulled into Stellerite’s lap and for a moment she tensed, but finally she forced herself to relax again, melting against Stella, especially when she kissed her cheek. That action alone sent shivers down her spine and a small sigh to escape her lips. “I’ll…I’ll think about it…I can’t…I’m not going to make any rash decisions tonight…we’re tired and…I don’t know…”
When Stella’s lips moved to her jaw, Kari couldn’t help but tilt her head a little so the captain had more access to whatever she wanted. “I…not right now, Stella…I…”
She couldn’t think right now…but she did know that she was a useless piece of trash and she couldn’t understand why all of the sudden the Negaverse was so interested in her joining them…She would be an utter failure and she knew it…Stella should just find someone better.
Kari felt tears welling up in her eyes at the thought and tried to pull away from the blonde. “I…I really…I need to go to sleep…When…”
She swallowed. “When should we meet again?”

Lips had traveled lower, pressing against what exposed parts of the brunette's neck that they could. Stilling when Kari began to protest, verbally, about everything she was offering, the blonde pulled back and looked away. Her gaze was cast downward, focusing on some part of the bench that they weren't occupying.
The arms around the senshi's waist tightened, resisting for a moment and then she let go, swallowing.
"I wish you wouldn't leave." She made sure to sound pitifully sorrowful. She stayed where she was, hands falling to the edge of the bench and gripping the metal while she blue eyes looked up.
"Anytime you want, cutie."

For one wild instant Kari had the urge to just agree, to say that she would stay with Stella, do whatever it took to stay with her, but instead she slid off of the captains lap and gave a halfhearted smile. “Um…I don’t know. I don’t really ever have plans…I’ll just…be at our old meeting place around eleven…every night and if you want energy or anything…I’ll be there.”
She swallowed, taking another step away from the alluring blonde. “I promise…” Kari thought that she really might mean it too…she wanted to be kissed and cuddled again. Wanted to be told how special she was…she needed to hear it. Needed it more than she really wanted to admit.
“I…I really am glad you made it through safely…I…I would have been so upset if something were to have happened to you…”

There was a tiny, glimmering second of hope that Kari would just give into her and it slipped between her fingers much to her frustration.
But Stella was an excellent actress and she kept the irritation from her tanned features.
"I'll be there," she echoed, carefully rising to her feet. The captain looked for something on her senshi's face before she reached out to caress cheeks and lean in to lightly brush their lips together. A teasing kiss of promise.
"It's been hard without you Kari, but...at least I got to see you tonight right?"

Kari nodded, biting down hard on her lower lip to keep it from trembling. “It was…nice to see you….really nice.” The kiss almost had her staying once again. But once more, Kari took a step backwards, nodding. “See you soon…I love you, Stella, thank you.”
She ran then, before the captain could say anything else that would crumble the little resolve that she had, before any more kisses had her questioning all of her life’s choices.
Things would be better after a good night’s sleep, she knew that…perhaps she would even have the strength again not to be a fool and seek Stellerite out…but…she had made a promise…not that promises ever really…had to be kept but…
…It was so nice to feel loved.
