- Key Traits - My key theme for him is that his mother's dismissive nature about his struggles and was always told to "get used to it" did more harm to him than good. So, as much as Anika intention was actually to make him more resilient and strong, it instead made Oscar a total pushover and lets the things around him happen with a straight face because he thinks he has no right to complain. Unfortunately, Oscar was good at hiding what he really feels and had it not been for Edgar's presence he wouldn't have the sensitive nature which is something his mother lacks (i mean she's nice, but insensitive to the people around because she wants to things her way in the name of freedom). What Oscar should learn is that he shouldn't just let the bad things happen to him just because the world isn't fair, he should take action to make his world more fair.
