 Amaidi loved her family. Her family was such a big part of her and it made her happy to be around them and to see them. Now that she was living in below and a mom she was the happiest little goblin ever. Mimzy was amazing and a joy to be around. Adopting the hybrid had been the best decision of her life. However she felt bad. Amaidi wasn’t often around as much as she wanted to be due to going to the university and even though she always let her daughter know she was there for her, well the fact was that Amaidi was an adult. She remembered growing up how she had always wanted a sibling to share things with. The only problem was that Amaidi was a single mom away from their family her significant other had still been in Above. So when she had gone to the orphanage to adopt they had denied the request. It weighed down on Amaidi heavily. She had just wanted to give her child a friend that would be with them for life, and give a child a new loving home. However things had started to change. Mercury had come down from below and things were happy and secure and better than ever. She had almost forgotten about the rejection from the adoption agency. Still there was another way and she had been thinking about it often, thinking about imbuing with Mercury. She was old enough and she was in a financially good place to add another child… but it was close to October. That horrid month that hurt children and mutated them. No she could do this. She would be careful to awaken it and she would be able to start a family with the person she loved and grow her family more. Now all she had to do was ask him… well he should be home soon. Mercury shivered a little under his coat, pulling the fabric closer to him to prevent any breezes from sneaking through the openings. Thankfully his places of work tended to be public buildings which expected a lot of traffic, so they were kept at a very comfortable temperature. It was the walks that exposed him the most to the ever dropping temperatures of outside, and this particular theater he was coming from having to be the one farthest from his home. It was also the best paying and held the most promise for something more reliable and permanent in the future, plus all the actors and performers there were extremely friendly. It made the walks a bit more bearable, though Mercury still couldn't wait to get home to a warm house and an even warmer embrace from his beautiful mate! The welcome sight of his front door loomed ahead of him at the end of the street. Mercury put a bit more speed into his steps, eager to get out of the elements. As he laid his hand on the doorknob he felt his shoulders physically relax in relief. "Amaidi, I'm home," he called as she opened the door, stepping in and quickly shutting behind him. At this time of day he knew Mimzy was still at the Academy. That had certainly been a big surprise when he first made it to Below at long last to be with his Amaidi! He loved children and he and Amaidi had occasionally spoken of having them in the nebulous world of the future, but suddenly finding himself a "dad" had been a bit of a shock. He was still a bit cautious, not wanting to put himself forward too much and push Mimzy away, but she was a delightful child he was already very fond of.

Almost like she had summoned him, she glanced out the window to see Mercury coming up the walk way to the front door. She quickly pushed her thoughts aside to get up from the chair and practically slid across the room. She had always believed one should have a pretty awesome welcome home and it gave her an excuse to hug the fey, which she did moments later when she opened the door. “Welcome home mercury? Everything go okay today?” She asked. While she wanted to ask him about imbuing, you didn’t really just spring it on someone the second they got home. Besides she did really want to know how his day was. She moved to the side to let him in and away from the cold. Ugh supposedly they were going to get a cold front moving in, although really she wore pretty warm clothes and had adjusted to below’s winters pretty well.

Mercury took a moment to savor the feeling of having Amaidi in his arms. It was something he never took for granted after having to endure that time away from her. He finally loosened his hold enough to pull away and look at her face so they could converse, though he kept one arm lightly wrapped around her waist. "It went pretty well. Still no word on getting any solo acts, but I was expecting that. I only recently showed up, and Fey have been here a while. I'll have to work to build a name for myself at entertainment theaters." There had actually been a few subtle hints dropped that things were starting to look good in that direction, but Mercury didn't want to say anything just yet until the hints became a bit more substantial. It would be nice if he could land some more solid gigs, rather than taking multiple freelance jobs. It would give him something like a normal schedule for one thing, and he would get more time to spend his beautiful ladies. "How was your day," he asked, eyes alive with interest.

Amaidi was perfectly happy to return the embrace for as long as needed. It really had been hard coming down to below especially since her family and mercury where all up in above. It was her fault after all, she had needed to travel and seeing below was just too much of a chance to turn down, but it didn’t mean that she hadn’t missed them all. The fact that Mercury had also finally come down, was still something she was happily wrapping her mind around. “I’m glad. Well that its going well. Obviously I’m biased but I think you’ll totally get that solo act soon.” Amaidi commented with a smile. “Ah well nothing exciting. I worked on some of my research papers and kind of killed time reading and trying to keep the plants alive.”

Mercury chuckled and began leading them back to the kitchen, which was a bit cozier than the entry way and had chairs for sitting. "They do quite fine on their own, but I think between the two of us we can definitely keep the houseplants alive." He reluctantly released Amaidi to sink down into a chair. He'd been on his feet most of the day, so it felt nice to take a little break. "And biased or not, I'll take that compliment. It'll help keep me going and give me more confidence when I'm dancing," he said, giving Amaidi a huge grin. The warmth of the room was helping him to relax after the chill outside; already he was starting to shed his coat. "Is Mimzy still at school? I came across this tasty snack when I was on a break, and I bought one for her to try and see if she likes it." Mercury dug in the pocket of his coat and brought out what seemed to be a brightly colored cookie in a clear wrapper. It had a soft-looking filling which seemed to contain either coconut or nuts, maybe both, and possibly bits of fruit as well. It was artfully decorated, and looked almost too pretty to eat.

“Well that’s good. I know they probably cried for joy when you moved in but I managed not to kill them for three months before hand. I would call that an accomplishment” She beamed. Really she had really bad luck when it came to plants. Here was hoping that the world didn’t go apocalyptic. She would never make it as a farmer. “Then I will keep giving them. You are an excellent Dancer.” Amaidi replied back and then looked over at the clock. It was way later than she thought or planned. She definitely wanted to have this conversation before Mimsy came home. “Ah I think she just got out so she should be home pretty soon, if she doesn’t dart to the computer lab to type in chat rooms. Speaking of which… what do you think of siblings for mimsy.” Yeah subtlety wasn’t always her thing. Better to just get things out in the open if it didn’t hurt anyone.

Mercury couldn't help but chuckle softly at Amaidi's assessment of her own gardening skills. She'd always had bad luck with plants, but Mercury thought it was more for trying too hard than a lack of talent. Some plants were just unbelievably fussy until you figured out their proper rhythms. He was pretty sure if he wasn't a Fey he'd have just as hard a time at growing things. At Amaidi's question he found himself feeling a little stunned. Not at her bluntness, which he was not only used to but found charming, but at the implications he was pretty sure he was picking up. Did she mean...? "I'm sure she'd love some, if we were to put the question to her. Were you thinking of adopting, or...?" He let his voice drift off, heavy with implication. There was a faint flush of heat in his face that made him glad his skin tone was so dark. Was he just hopeless or something? What kind of adult blushed at the thought of imbuing with their own mate? And of course his attempt to reason with himself just made the heat in his face increase. He didn't fool himself thinking it would go unnoticed either. Maybe his skin tone wouldn't give him away, but there were always other signs to be read and Amaidi was quite sharp.

ah no, before you came down, I had thought to maybe get mimsy a sibling because school was really bad and I wasn't home as much as I wanted to be but they kept denying me. Ended up with a lot of rejections." Amaidi admitted scratching the back of her head and looking out the window. It had been a really hard time, considering Amaidi loved family and it was like the rejections were telling her she wasn't good enough to be a parent. " I mean we don't have to, I just well want to do the whole proper raising a kid with you this time instead of springing it on you like mimsy was and after all it's close to October... yeah " Okay now she was bright red her self, although partially she blamed mercury's reaction. Oh it was silly she shouldn't have brought it up. Mimsy seemed to be fine being an only child. She should have just asked about adoption but being rejected again, well she didn't want to be rejected again. After all there was always the possibility. She silently tapped her fingers on the table.

Mercury's blushes finally evened out. It helped a bit that Amaidi was clearly feeling just as bashful. Even if it was only a shared reaction, it made him feel a bit less like he was being overly silly about the whole thing. His fingers twitched, then he reached across the table and sought one of her hands, twining his fingers with yours. "I would absolutely love to imbue a stone with you." He smiled. "Stones, even, since if we're giving Mimzy siblings we might as well give her more than one. I can only hope they don't get into nearly the amount of mischief I remember some of the other children at home getting into," Mercury laughed. "Well, Mimzy is an amazing child, she'll certainly set a good example!"

Amaidi smiled and practically launched out of her chair to hug Mercury. She just felt that because she was happy she should pass it on. Sure considering the time it might be a while before they could get a soul stone but the point was that Mercury wanted to have a family with her and she could give Mimsy a sibling… or well siblings. “Definitely just start with two, and they probably will, although I remember Shouen telling me that I was a model child so maybe not too mischief. Mimsy is also really patient and I’m sure that will rub off on them too.” Amaidi said pulling back from the hug but sure not to let go of his hand. She was just super happy.

Mercury felt his blushes got up a notch or two when Amaidi flung herself at him, but he was grinning from ear to ear and held her just as tightly as she did him. The feeling of excitement was pretty contagious, and as she pulled back he found himself almost bouncing in his chair with the energy to put their plan into action. "You've been down here longer than I have, so what's our first step? Is it pretty similar to how things work in Above? I'll make sure to schedule some time away from dancing once we know when we want to imbue, so I can gather my energy for it and rest afterwards." He finally stopped his babbling to beam at Amaidi, holding her hand a little tighter. Nasaiki Figure this can be my last post, unless you wanted to go on a bit more.

“It’s pretty much the same as in Above. You go and buy a soul stone at the clinic, hopefully before October because then it becomes illegal to buy them. We can go buy them next day we have off or get out somewhat earlier and then plan when you imbue then.” Amaidi answered trying not to overwhelm Mercury with information or just ramble on at a hundred miles per hour. She was just soo excited. It would be two little stones with both her and Mercury's traits. How could she not be overjoyed? She would have to tell Mimsy as soon as her daughter got home.
