This would have been inevitable. Sooner or later, Ever would wind up dealing with a very over handsy Zeke, but the Mist had sort of insured it be sooner. On the Blonde's heels right off the bat, almost literally, with dark fingers seeking a hold on the back of the other man's belt. Trying to gently draw him back in against him, even as they walked. "Where are you going?" He sounded curious, and if he'd bother to lift his attention from Ever's back to look over his shoulder, the question would have been redundent.

He wasn't hard to catch, anyway -- and didn't resist, exactly, though he also didn't draw to a halt. Instead, Zeke would have to fit himself in against Ever's spine, rest his chin on his shoulder, twine arms in around his waist, and try to keep up. He slowed, a hair. Zeke could keep up anyway. And he tipped his head a little to look back over his shoulder. "This didn't really do much for me, I'd say."

It'd make walking a little awkward, legs forced to shuffle instead of the smooth even stride he usually had, but that didn't seem to matter as he molded himself against the back of Ever's body, arms looping his waist. "No interesting matchings?" He'd venture, pale eyes flicking up to meet dark ones as Ever glanced back at him. His chin would find its way into the other man's shoulder, and a slight tip of his head let him puff a warm breath against the back of a pale ear. "Are we heading back to your room?" It was hopeful, iccorigable.

"I was just going out to have a cigarette..." But he raised an eyebrow as he said it, considering Zeke's expression and then shaking his own head just a little. One hand settled over the other man's arms, light, to adjust how they curled around him -- to settle things in just a bit more comfortably. "You're being affected by whatever was going on in there, aren't you."

A smoke break wasn't a poor alternative, and broad shoulders hiked up in a relenting shrug to convey that. Ever wasn't trying to shake him off, and really, that was all Zeke cared about right that moment. He couldn't seem to get enough of the warmth radiating back from the other man pressed into his chest, or the smell of his soap at the back of shaved nape. At some point in their walking Zeke ad let his eyes drift closed, trusting in Ever not to lead them off a cliff, but he opened them again at the observation that wasn't quite a question. "I don't know. I did eat the cookies, and that's what that tech was warning against." He shrugged again, clearly unconcerned. Or unable to be concerned.

"I didn't eat any." Of course he hadn't. He looked sidelong at Zeke again as he hauled him out into the fresh air -- only to fish out a cigarette and slide it between his lips, ready to spoil the atmosphere. Or improve it, depending on preferences. "Do you need me to take you to the infirmary?" The words were only a little garbled, a little mumbled, while Ever fished out his lighter to try and catch the end of the cigarette.

"They were very tasty," he mused absently, chuckling as they came to a stop outside. It did not result in much movement from Zeke, yet. If anything, the Mist settled a little more comfortably against Ever's back, and he rubbed the scruff if his check alonf the other man's neck. Up and down, thoughtless. The rubbing slowed at Ever's question, but Zeke gave a small snort before answering. "I feel fine. Why would you take me to the infirmary?"

"We don't know exactly what you ate." He squinted sideways at Zeke, sighing a slow breath of smoke out his nose. The flick of ash off the end of his cigarette was easy, familiar, comfortable, and then he offered it up over his shoulder if Zeke wanted it. "Was anyone else going to the infirmary?"

His brows furrowed, brain trying to reason that logic out as he took the offered cigarette between his lips, but something—probably the cookies—was preventing the dots from connecting in any rational way. That on its own should have been concerning, and it wasn't. Which also should have been a red light, but none of this was very much like Zeke. Well, touchy-feely wasn't that odd, but the rest certainly was. He was usually more cautious, more rational. Shifting the cigarette to the corner of her mouth so her could exhale around it,(apparebtly unwilling to remove his have from around Ever's waist), he considered the question through that same warm and fuzzy filter. "I don't think so. Not the infirmary." He chuckled, rubbing his cheek against the student of Ever's jaw. "Some were going to Melvin's diem though, for a sleep over."

"Oh god. Trainees?" He hesitated over it, shifting in place -- and it wasn't that he didn't like Melvin, really. Quite the contrary. But the idea of Melvin alone with a bunch of fuzzy-brained out of sorts trainees made Ever waffle. He didn't like it. Someone -- or maybe everyone -- was liable to get hurt. "That sounds like a terrible plan."

Zeke apparently didn't see the problem. "Trainees, not trainees. None of the little ones though, I don't think." There was a pause as he tried to remember, then waved it away before reaching for the cigarette still dangling precariously from his lips. A tap, and the ash on the end fell away. "I'm sure they're be fine."

None of the little ones was all that really mattered. Ever paused for a moment, thinking about it, and then reached out to steal the cigarette back. He made a sound under his breath. "What a mess. Whoever dumped whatever-that-was into the batter had better be at least denied leave..."

There was a grunt of protest as Ever took back the cigarette, but once he realized it left his mouth free again he'd put it to better use. A tip of his head, and he could bury his face into the crook of a pale neck again, breathing deeply to draw in the scent of the other man. "It sounded," he began, the words muffled against warm skin before Zeke withdrew enough to rest his chin on a bony shoulder again. "Like that Nash guy just happened to find cookies, and decided to give them out." Broad shoulders shrugged, but he was still molded in against Ever's back.

"Who puts strange spells into cookies of all things?" Ever shook his head, and just held onto the cigarette. If Zeke didn't ask for it, he could work his way through the whole thing on his own. Probably for the best, anyway. "No way. You've been here long enough to know that's insane. Either the guy's lying, or someone wanted this to happen." Not that he sounded angry about it, exactly. Just...resigned. And fairly certain. It was on par for Deus.

"Life techs," he said simply, though it likely didn't provide a suitable answer. "The more sciency ones that do experiments with Fear. I've heard they've done similar." on purpose, even. He didn't ask for the cigarette back, seemed perfectly content with out it, so long as Ever wasn't trying to shake him off. There was every possibility he could have stayed that way for hours under the warm, fuzzy feel of the cookies in his system. "Coffee is a popular option, if you're looking to observe blind testing with an experiment." He sounded thoughtful for a moment, then another shrug. "We see some of the results in the infirmary." Which was why Zeke stuck to the coffee in the infirmary break room, and avoided the stuff in the labs.
