In all the years that Nellie had been on the island, not once had she encountered such a weather phenomenon with the drizzling that went on and on for days with no end in sight. Something was at work here. It didn't take her very long to figure that out. Not that it achieved anything since she knew not what that was nor what could be done about it in order to get the rain to go away.
But life still went on and they couldn't coop themselves up indoors all of the time could they? A good part of today was dedicated towards practice out in the training field and boy was Nellie starting to regret it with how wretched she felt from being cold and drenched out in the rain on top of spending a significant portion of her time sloshing around in the mud while trying to maintain her balance. It was challenging and a good workout for what it was worth but she was starting to grow weary of it when a slight misstep sent her falling face first into a huge puddle with a squeak.

Life did still go on, and Rhys knew it because his was still going despite all of the rain. As irritating as it was, he didn't want to let his workouts or fight-training to suffer just because of the a little bit of water. It was actually a lot of water, but all the same. Getting rusty on the field was a quick way to get himself hurt, so even if it was raining and muddy out he still went to go whack the training the dummies a little bit.
When he saw someone else out there, though, he became a little more hopeful about this particular training session. At least it wouldn't be so boring if they agreed to fight, so after summoning Zephira he jogged over. "Hey," he greeted, hoping he could be heard over the sound of the rain. When they fell into a puddle though he couldn't help but laugh and jog the rest of the way to them, offering a hand up. "s**t, my bad. You alright?"

Despite the rain that was still beating down on all of them, it was hard for Nellie to remain down on the ground or even feel sorry for herself especially when another hunter came over laughing to help her up. Taking hold of the hand that was offered, the Mist trainee pulled herself up with a small smile. "Thank you. It's hardly anyone's fault anyway with how muddy the training field is at the moment."
Stopping for a moment to tuck her hair behind her ears so that she didn't get mistaken by anyone for an apparition under broad daylight (on Deus island of all places - yeah right hah!), she added on cheekily with a shrug of her small shoulders. "Unless you're the one who summoned all this rain then yes this definitely was all your fault."

Once she was up Rhys took a step back, trying to figure out when and where he'd possibly met this girl before. When he couldn't place it, he just left it alone and hoped she didn't recognize him either.
Her joke had him shaking his head a little, though the smile from being amused at her little fall into the mad still present. "Nah, not me. Not sure who or what caused this s**t-ton of rain, but we're livin' with it 'til someone figures out how to deal with it." With that, he nodded at her. "The rain doesn't bother you enough to keep you off the field though. Since you're here, wanna spar? I could use a good workout."
