The second Des had left the house, he beelined it for the park he had lest met Kerberos at. He avoided powering up, in order to keep Gabriel from tracking him. That was the last thing he needed right now. Once there, he fished out a burner phone and punched in the number Kerb had given him in case of emergency.

Des was calling in that favor.

He fidgeted nervously, constantly checking over his shoulder for a ghost that wasn't there. He was unsure if it was smarter to stick to the shadows and remain hidden until Kerb came, or stay in a lit area in few of others around. He'd figure it out in a few moments, he just needed to hear Kerb.

He almost cried when the phone connected and someone answered the other line. "Hey, can you come get me?" He begged. "I'm at the park where we talked last. Please, I need you."

There was no need to hesitate. Kerberos was off and flying to the park where he'd last met Fangite as soon as he got the request, racing across rooftops and bouncing acrobatically as fast as he could. He finally came to a halt and dropped down into the park, looking around and feeling for a Captain's aura.

"Fangite? Fangite, I'm here," he said, bouncing on his heels. It was cold, but he barely noticed, even in his wispy, almost ethereal Senshi garments. He was terrified that he would find him injured, or worse. There were so many terrible things that could happen to someone in this war.

It was only when Des finally saw the senshi in the park, that he finally crept out of the shadows, not as himself, but as Fangite. He ran at the senshi, throwing his arms around him and holding on tightly. "Get me out of here." He begged. "I don't care what we do or where we go. I just need to get away from here. Away from him." Fangite sobbed. "Please. I don't know where he is, or if he's following me, but we'll be in danger if we stay here any longer." The Captain was frantic, and desperate to put as much distance between him and Gabriel as possible. "Please. Please tell me you have somewhere save he can't track me down." Then he laughed desperately. "I'll do anything Alex."

Kerberos caught Fangite as he ran into his arms, holding him tight and squeezing. This was clearly not the time to ask for explanations, or for arguments or hesitation.

"I have somewhere safe." He said, without a further thought, and then counted back. Yes, it had been a week since he'd last visited his planet and lain among the flowers, so it was safe to return. "Let's go." He unwrapped one arm so he could summon his senshi phone from subspace, and took a breath and pressed the button that would carry them both to space.

They landed in the middle of the city, and Kerberos guided Fangite to a bench.

(This was what he was meant to do. To relieve burdens. To help people who were suffering learn to breathe again.)

"Can you tell me what's going on, now that we're safe?"

"Anywhere. I don't care where it is." He mumbled shakily.

Suddenly though, it felt as though he'd been punched in the gut and all the air left his lungs. He was grateful for the bench, because he wasn't sure if he could stand after that. "God. That's worse then teleportation." Fangite coughed, dry heaving. "What was that?" He croaked, wiping his mouth with the back of his hand before blinking.

New question. Where is this?

Fangite blinked at his surroundings before seeming to come to upon Kerberos' question.

Oh.

"Something's wrong with him Alex. I-I don't know. He's acting weird."

Kerberos swallowed guiltily. "It was...kind of teleportation," he said. "This is my planet. I brought you here because no one else can get here."

It was safe, and defensible, and he was happy to share it with Fangite. These maybe weren't the circumstances he would have preferred, because he would have preferred anything at all to Fangite panicking in fear, but he would take it.

"Who?" He asked, gently. He had his suspicions, but he didn't want to assume. "Natron? Is there...something wrong with him?" It was frightening, almost, to think about. What might years in the Rift have done to someone?

"I don't remember it feeling like that." Fangite wheezed, trying to suck air back into his lungs. Then again though, Fangite couldn't remember the last time he'd actually teleported.

"Planet?" He echoed. That's right... Senshi's of Order could go to their planets... Unlike Corrupted or Dark Mirrors. "Oh... Right... You can do that now." It was strange... to see all the things he could do now, that he couldn't before. Fangite wondered if he had done more harm, than good, keeping him for as long as he did.

"Yes..." He said weakly. "He's meaner... Angrier... I.. I don't understand. It's like he's poisoned. I told him, about my friend. The one I had told you about. He said that it was the right thing to have done. That I saved her." Fangite shook trying to recall the conversation. "He knows you were at the house too. He's seen all the stuff you left behind... I put it in the room along with his. But I didn't tell him beyond that. I couldn't. I don't want to." He said suddenly. "It's better if I don't. You're safer, if I don't." Though, he had probably damned Kerberos already as it was. "I don't know if he's going to come after you." There was a very real possibility that he could. "I don't want you in anymore danger then I've already put you in. I can't lose you. Not again... Not again."

"I don't know what to do to save him... I'm scared Alex. I'm to weak to do anything even if I could." He glanced up at the senshi. "I'm so tired Alex..."

"Planet," Kerberos said, giving Fangite a brief smile. "I could sing, but I think it would be a little cheesy and also out of place."

He got very serious all over again as Fangite began to describe exactly what was wrong, though. That was...terrifying and awful. It didn't match the Natron he remembered, at all. Whatever had come out of the Rift...was not the man who had gone in.

"I..." Kerberos swallowed. "I'll keep an eye out." He hated the idea of having to fight Natron. Natron had been his friend, had been someone he...cared about. Deeply. More deeply than he'd let himself realize. "I think you made the right decision in not telling him, given the uh. Circumstances. It sounds like he's...volatile. And more convinced that the Negaverse is right than anyone healthily should be."

He sat down next to Fangite and reached over to pull him into his arms.

"There is...one thing we could do. but he'd have to want it." Kerberos swallowed. "And I don't think he'd want it if you weren't with him."

He glanced down at his own bright white uniform. They'd tried this before, hadn't they, in that terrible future? And it had all gone wrong. But this time it would be the three of them together, not two of them lost on the other side while Kerberos drowned in Chaos.

"I love you, but please don't. I don't think my senses could take it right now." Fangite groaned. "Do you remember what he looks like? Auburn hair... Brown leather uniform... Skull, phoenix motifs on his uniform.."

Fangite let the senshi pull him into his arms, sighing as he leaned against Kerb. "I don't know if volatile... More like... Possessed??? I don't know. He's just not acting right and I don't understand it. He wouldn't have said these things otherwise.."

He fell silent, when Kerberos started talking about something they could do. "You... You're talking about purification right?" He asked quietly. "I... I don't know. Asking him outright might make things worse." As for him? He couldn't do it. At least... Not right now. "Airitech." Fangite muttered, knowing Kerb was watching him intently for an answer. "I can't leave him behind. It's not fair to him..."

Kerberos nodded. "I remember." He said. He could picture Natron clearly enough - though the picture he had of him was of a young man who laughed and smiled and told stupid jokes on patrol, who worried about him when he was in his darkest place. Not a monster who would hunt him down.

Something, he had to agree, was very wrong.

"Maybe," Kerberos acknowledged. "I know that when I was. Ascended," he swallowed, hesitating on the word, "I didn't have much in the way of a will of my own? Chaos drove so much of what I did, what I wanted, who I was. It...could be something like that. Just. Milder. Hopefully." Because you couldn't fix Ascension.. But they needed to be able to fix this.

He gave Fangite a long look. "Yes. Purification. There are people I can talk to, to help you." He said. "But you're right, it might not....be safe to ask him outright. Maybe we can convince him another way." Maybe. God, Kerberos wanted to believe that was possible.

"His hair is longer now. I think you'd like it..." Fangite said weakly. "He's in there somewhere... I know he is. I just don't know how to get to him."

"I... I think you were still you.. In some way. You recognized it was me, even without being an Agent... You fought that other corrupt, quite literally, to keep me alive." Even ascended, Kerberos still seemed like himself, when he was around him.

Around...

Fangite sighed, pulling himself off of Kerberos and running his hands through his hair. "Yeah... About that.." Fangite mumbled. "You know how I told you about my friend? The one that I... corrupted." He asked, dropping his gaze. "Well... She had this book."

Kerberos nodded. "We can save him, I know we can." He said, gently. He had to believe that. He had to believe that somewhere deep down, the Natron he'd known still existed and they could bring him to the surface.

It would take work. He was certain enough of that. Breaking Chaos's hold on a person was hard enough anyway, some kind of extra-strong Chaos poisoning would be even harder.

"I..." Kerberos sighed. It was true enough, yes, and he was willing to let it go, rather than argue. It was also a point in the favor of maybe being able to help Natron. He'd retained some of himself under far worse circumstances, perhaps...well.

"A book?" Kerberos queried gently. "What kind of book?"

Fangite snorted quietly. "...At least someone thinks he's savable... If you think you can do it... Go for it. He can't hear me Alex. I don't know what's left to do."

Then the Captain looked guilty, as if he'd been caught doing something and was now in trouble. "A... magic kind." He said weakly. "It... told s**t. I guess not so much told stuff, and more of if you ******** touch it, it knows s**t about you." God damn magical bullshit. He was sick of this s**t ruining his sorry excuse for a life. Fangite ran hi hands through his hair again a couple of times before finally balling them. "I guess in the cae of Negaverse Agents, it knows some things. Like things from the Past." Fangite not so subtly hinted. "I want it on record, I did not give consent and that little b***h threw the book at the back of my head, quiet literally, by the way. So no, I'm not happy about-ARGH!" Fangite growled throwing himself to the ground and sprawling out on it, but not before jerking both his face mask as high as it would go and his hood as low as it would go."

"My god damn name was Nile. Like the river."

"We'll find a way," Kerberos said firmly. Whatever it took, he was going to bring Natron out from under whatever was tearing him apart.

He listened, interested, as Fangite described the book and what it did. He sounded angry about it, which was....well, Kerberos couldn't say it wasn't expected, he seemed to hate anything at all to do with his past or his Knighthood. Still, it was almost charming to watch him hide behind his mask and hood like this was something embarrassing.

"Nile," Kerberos said, a little reverently. "Nile, Knight of Uranus. That's what you'll be, if you choose Order."

Fangite said nothing, to drained to counter Kerberos' apparent endless optimism. If Kerberos thought there was a way to get through to Natron, then more power to him. If he, Natron's boyfriend, couldn't get through to him. What luck was Kerberos going to have? Not to mention the difference in sides. Natron wasn't going to sit still long enough to hear what Kerberos had to say.

"Shut up." He hissed suddenly. "I don't want to hear it! I didn't want to hear it then, and I don't want to hear it now. Why do you all keep trying to remind me of it!" He screamed. "I attacked her!" Fangite waved an arm through the air. She got excited about my name too and I jumped her. Shes now got a shallow scar on her throat! Is that what you want?" He yelled, his voice cracking.

"I thought you brought me here to get away from everything." That's what he had asked right? "Please Kerberos. Alex. Whatever you want me to call you. Just please. Can we pretend everything hasn't gone to hell?" Fangite scrubbed at his face. "You know. As stupid, and as left field as this is gonna sound, do you know what I want to do right now? All I want to do is sleep. And I've only been awake for a few hours. But this has literally drained whatever energy I had built up." The Captain sighed. "Not that I could sleep around you anyway... With my luck my glamour would probably drop." Fangite waved a hand.

He fell quiet for a while, staring at nothing in particular. This was ridiculous... He was getting mad at Kerberos for no reason, and taking his frustrations out on him. It wasn't fair. "I'm sorry." Fangite muttered softly. "I love you.... I miss you."
