 One of the good things about fall was everything started being more spooky. It was also like they were more tolerant of ghosts and the like. So oiche liked fall just because her style of dress and her personality in general seemed to be more accepted. She also liked haunted hallows for a way less personal reason and that was the return of the salted caramel flavor. However today was a kind of more bitter cold due to the wind and called for a hot chocolate and a cake pop. The particular coffee shop she went too often decorated their pops for the particular flavor or season it was. This time they had little mummies. So she waited through the rather long line and got two cake pops and a hot chocolate. Content she walked over to the table in the corner to start working on her editing job.

it looked like it was going to be one of those days. The days that unfortunately didn't look like they were going to work out. He had been awakened early and apparently some how found himself shopping but then his mother had to go do something and he had been told to go wait in the coffee shop. The neighborhood was safe enough and it was close enough to the academy that freshlings were a common occurrence. So rune had decided to spend the time with a drink and maybe a cake pop. He liked how they always decorated them according to season. They were also pretty tasty. Then the awful day struck again. When he had gone up to order them the person in front of him had gotten the last one. Rune couldn't help it and his mood kind of visably dropped. He paid for his drink and went to the side to wait for them to make It.

Oiche had been watching the exchange from over in her corner. It was none of her business whether or not the freshling got a cake pop, but then she had three and there was just something about the child. Maybe it was Hallows unite or something but she made sure to claim her table before walking over.
“I have two. If you don’t mind sitting with a stranger I don’t mind sharing” oiche offered as they were waiting for their drink. Luckily the barista called her name and Oiche grabbed her own drink before going back to her seat.
She had been planning to save the cake pop for her dad but it wasn’t like he would ever know she have given it away as it was going to be a surprise.

Rune was startled to say the least when the Junior aged Hybrid walked over. He was even more startled when she offered to share her cake pop. It was true he had wanted one, and she was only about 14. It wasn’t like she was one of those creeps. Besides looking at her appearance, Rune wondered if they wouldn’t have some similarities.
It would also help pass the time until a parent came to get him. Maybe it was silly and kind of stupid of him, but he grabbed his drink and walked over to her table pulling out a chair. “It’s not like I want the company okay, I’m only here for the cake pop,” Rune lied as he sat in the chair and stared down at his feet.

Oiche had to hide a smile. She remembered exactly when she was the boy's age, she was exactly the same way. Pretending that's not what she wanted in order to seem more like a certain image.
" oh well, good thing I have a cake pop then. It's strawberry if you don't mind" she started handing the cake pop over in question. "I'm oiche by the way. Figure if we are sharing food, then we should probably know each other's name" with the ball fully in his court now, oiche took a sip of her drink. This close up she could see all of his hallowed traits, some times she felt like she shouldn't call herself one. After all Oiche only had crescent moon pupils. Then again, maybe her other spooky markings and racial features made up for that.

Something in her words caused Rune to look up. It was t so much what she was saying, after all it was standard meet and greet but maybe the tone. He figured walking over she probably got hell for her appearance marking wise, and her outfit. However this close up, he could see the different pupils. With a sigh he straightened up. Oh well light father always said to be nice to others and she was sharing something she had bought.
" strawberries fine. Been wanting to try it actually" Rune answered taking the offered cake pop. " nice to meeet you Oiche. I'm rune..." he paused like there was something he wanted to say. Ah well maybe youth would save him. " do they make fun of you as well?"

"Hmm well yeah. Depending on the day its comments about how dark I dress. Other days it's how meloncholly I look, and some times it's about my pupils or the fact I research ghosts with my dad. Personally I think bullies are always going to find something to taunt you with. I just stopped carrying. Don't need their approval" Oiche started and then had to snort into her drink when Rune's ears picked up all excited like. She could almost hear the swishing of his tails. It was sort of adorably cute, not that she would tell Rune. Some how she didn't think it would go over well. Still looked like they may have something to talk about other than the cliche 'oh we are both hallowed.'

" you're right. Bullies are stupid. I think you dress nice" Rune admitted. It was obviously what she wanted to where and if she was happy that was all that really mattered. Of course giving compliments always off put him and he munched silently on the cake pop.
...Or well that was the plan until she mentioned ghosts. From the way she said it.
" can you see ghosts, is there really a field to research them. Do you have fun? " rune began pelting the poor girl with questions. He loved the topic of the supernatural and ghosts even if he couldn't see them. One of these days he was going to figure out how to learn being a medium.

A smile broke out with out her knowledge. Rune really did remind her of a littler her even if she was just barely out of her freshling years. The excitement of finding some one that liked your own passion, a person who wouldn't look down on what you liked to learn about. Yeah she understood.
" my dad is a paranormal researcher, and yes I can see them" Oiche answered before breaking into answering all the other questions. " you know what, here I am actually working on proof reading my dad's book. Well more like a second set of eyes. He gets carried away some times and needs people to make sure his sentences aren't coherent before he sends it off to the professional proof reader. Wanna help me?"

Rune instantly nodded and scooted his chair over so that he could read with Oiche. Some of the words were a bit advanced for him, but Oiche was patient and explained whatever he didn’t know. He admitted she made a good teacher. She never made him feel stupid when he struggled. He didn’t know how long they sat there sipping on their drinks and going over the book.
There was just soo much Rune still needed to learn. He was up for it though.
Eventually he heard his dad’s voice and looked up. Sure enough Samhain was standing near the door way. He looked down at the book and then back at oiche. He almost didn’t want to leave now.
“Is it okay if I catch up on reading the rest of the book some time, or we could talk about this subject again?” He asked hesitantly.
“
“Sure. I’d like that” Was the reply. “I visit here a lot actually” Rune smiled and waved. Today.. today hadn’t been the disaster he thought.
