Adelinde hovered just outside the doors leading into the stone bank. The baphomet girl had been waffling on this issue for a while now. She knew she wanted to have children of her own, but was she really, really ready for them? Her wedding planning business was slowly getting off the ground and it wasn’t as if she couldn’t afford kids.
But did she want the responsibility so soon?
After stepping politely to the side to allow a more obviously eager person through, Adelinde pinched the bridge of her nose and thought hard. She could afford children. She wanted children. So why was this so difficult? After a few moments, she decided that it was largely due to not feeling entirely grown up herself. But that was silly! She had graduated from the Academy and had her own little business. Of course she was grown up. Snorting softly and shaking her head, Adelinde allowed herself a faint, rueful grin. She was questioning her own maturity. Somehow, she had a feeling that that, right there, was the clearest indicator that she was more than grown up enough to do this.
“Come on, self,” she muttered, reached for the door and opening it. “We can do this.”
Once inside, it felt as if all her worry and stress came tumbling off of her shoulders. She was going to do this. She was going to find someone to imbue stones with and she was going to have cute little babies to look after and laugh indulgently over.
She was doing the thing.
