"Simple soups for now, meat and vegetables and spices in a pot. Set it to boil, maybe turn it into soup stock for future use. Nothing fancy. If you want, maybe after this whole thing," she gestured to, well, everywhere around them, "You can come over and have a bowl? Or I could bring you some next time?" she offered.
"Puzzles, like, jigsaw puzzles?" Joy asked, "I don't have the brains or the patience for those. It's super cool you can manage those though."

Hearing Lin had experienced the exact same exit as her had Brittney gasping "Shut up, are you in my head? Because that totally happened to me too! The ******** is up with those portals, am I right?" She leaned in close, "If you want, we can make up a bullshit scenario how we got our battle scars and I'll totally back you up."
And if Lin wanted to ask more inappropriate questions, Brittney would welcome it. "Nah, not much of a dater me. More of a ******** but it's sooooo ******** inconvenient when you can't avoid the ******** the next day like you would before the island life."

When they were told the first round was over, Joy gave Jolene a wave before excusing herself to find her next partner. So far so good, she was going to use this as a means of making friends even if that might not have been what Seren intended when the sun trainee signed her up.
Eventually she located the other woman and realized, "Oh hey, you were at dare night weren't you?" she smiled. "I'm Joy," she introduced, pointing to her name tag with one hand while offering the other to shake. She'll work up to the topic Nash put up after introductions.

Britt was hopeful when she saw her next partner was named Momo. In her experience, people who got those sort of names were either crazy-weird, or ******** badass. Either way, it was going to be an interesting ten minutes.
"Oh hey, you already got a super-hero vibe going on! Guess that means you get to go first with the whole topic of conversation thing." she winked, giving the other woman a grin.
Yayoi Lemme know if you'd rather just handwave their 10 minutes together.

"We could say we got our scars wrestling with bears, or something similarly improbable," she said, mock-solemn. She tapped the centipede marking that wound around her leg. "I'm going to say this is just a tattoo. Because bugs are cool." She giggled, slightly shocked. "That does sound inconvenient," she said. "Although I haven't, ah, experienced. That exact situation."

Brittney cackled in delight, "Wrestling with bears sounds like a thing we'd both be badass at. As for bugs being cool, depends on the bug. Like, butterflies are pretty, some moths too, but I wouldn't exactly say they look cool. Not like these kinds," she gestured to the centipede on Lin's leg.
On the subject of one night stands and Britt's inability to have them here,
she ended up going on a tirade "Count yourself lucky you haven't met desperate dumb ******** that, no matter how much you tell 'em you just wanna do the nasty, keep thinking you're gonna want more." Britt snorted, "And then they pull out all this bullshit about you sending mixed signals and lying to them?" She made a face, "Yeah, no ******** thanks."

Britt - Lin"Bears, definitely," Lin said, and held up one arm to flex her muscles, adopting a mock-ferocious scowl. "We could even have beaten them. Armwrestling, maybe." She tapped her fingers on the marking again, thinking for only a brief moment about how she'd gotten it, about the terror and pain of being ejected from her own body. Then she put the thoughts away, visualizing closing the experience into a box and latching it closed. It was a technique she'd practiced time and again for rejecting thoughts she didn't want, and it worked as well now as it always did. This was a "date," and not a time for melancholy thoughts. "I don't ... date, a lot," she admitted. "It's just not convenient." Actually, it was pretty much socially unacceptable to be nineteen and never having had a date, so she generally didn't admit to that part. It just wasn't as important to her as other things, and boys had been put off by her weirdness anyway, and she had only recently started to suspect that she didn't really care much about boys being uninterested in her, anyway. Brittney seemed like she had rather more experience in this arena, and Lin wasn't sure whether Brittney would think she was hopelessly naive if she admitted to her lack.

"Not convenient? Whaddya mean with that? Is it something along the lines of parental issues?" Britt asked, the wry smirk suggesting she had her fair share of dating inconveniences. At least those relating to parents.

Joy-Soleil There was recognition at a glance, but Soleil wouldnt have been able to place a new with the face had one not been provided for her. She'd nod though, smiling at the other girl as she extended a hand in greeting. "Je suis Soleil, it's nice to meet you, Joy." The smile brightened into an impish grin. "Yes, I was there." That had been a fun evening. "What's our topic supposed to be?" She and Nora hadn't bothered. More could Sol really recall what it had been... "Super heros? Powers?"

At the sound of Soleil speaking French, Joy's mouth went into an "O" shape. "Oh what is it about the French language that sounds so pretty?" she sighed wistfully before grinning, "Ahem, eniwei, I think it is about super heroes and powers."
She glanced back at the board, squinting at the words but she was too far from it to really be able to read anything. "Ewan, I'm not really too familiar with super heroes, except the ones from the Philippines," she explained. "How about you? Are you into stuff like that?"

Joy - SoleilSpanish, or even a bit of Italian, and Sol was confident she'd have been able to figure out what Not was saying, but this want a language she'd ever heard before, but even in multinational matches in Call of Duty. So she gave the other girl a curious look, brows quirked, before her unspoken question was answered. Joy was from the Phillipines. Well, no wonder Sol couldn't recognize the language. "Non, not really. I know of the more popular ones, but mostly from recent movies." She thought about it for a moment. "I do like black widow, and Hawkeye, but he'd be cooler I think with a rifle." Nothing against his, she just preferred guns.

"Yeah, kinda. Just, y'know. I had a lot of stuff I needed to do and not a lot of free time," Lin said. It wasn't a lie, even if it wasn't completely the truth, and she didn't want to start getting into why else she might not have dated with someone she barely knew, when they had only a little time anyway. Maybe if they got to know each other better later she would be more comfortable.

"Only foreign supers I know are Batman and Superman, because who doesn't know about Batman and Superman? Oh and Wonder Woman! I remember, um, that woman, Lina? Linda? I remember seeing scenes from her show whenever my parents were flipping through the channels."
She unfortunately didn't know of the two Soleil mentioned, "Super heroes can use guns?" she asked, clearly she was someone who never even heard of Liefeld. Maybe that was a good thing.

Joy - Soleil"Why not? Batman has no super powers, only fancy gadgets and s**t. If he's still a super hero, I don't see why the rest of them wouldn't be." She shrugged, smiling in amusement. "I didn't watch much off the old shows, but I've seen most of the recent movies. Entertaining enough, I think." Like the Avengers, and Guardians of the Galaxy.

"I guess I just never saw fancy gadgets as guns. Otherwise, how are they different from regular peeps who can shoot good?" Joy shrugged, not wanting to get too philosophical because, well, thinking deeply on things was not her strong suit.
"I've uh, haven't seen any of those. They sound like something you should watch with other people. I dunno, watching them alone sounds sad?" Pathetic was the actual word Joy was looking for, but sad suited her well enough.
