Alya spent too much time in a mirror; he knew that. Usually he spent too much of his time in front of a mirror when he was a civilian, though—not powered up.
Tonight was an exception; he’d been meandering through the park, minding his own business, when a goat-like youma had decided to rain on his parade. The four legged creature was the size of a horse and had teeth like a snake and Alya did not sign up for that; he used his magic, once, kicked one of youma’s legs as hard as he could, and ran.
He had no idea how long he had run for, but it was long enough that he was certain he wasn’t being pursued.
But, the effort was taxing, and messy.
He should have known that the mirror was bad news when he found it tucked away, hidden in some trees and brush.
But, it called to him—or, at least, his vanity—and he made his way over to try and clean himself up.
Twigs in his hair, leaves in his hair, clothes disheveled.
He would have been ashamed if he’d ran into anyone before he cleaned himself up.
Alya preened for only a few moments before he felt a strange sensation, like he was being drawn towards something. There was no one around, so he dismissed the thought—at least, until it was too late. The mirror rippled only once and he had no time to recoil before it sucked him in and spat him back out in a little square room that was maybe fifteen feet long on each side.
He didn’t know how long he was there, but he spent what must have been at least an hour or two walking around the empty room, looking for clues, before he caved and gave up. Or, at least, took a break; he sank to the ground and pulled out his phone, trying to search through it and find anything that would help.
The lack of service made it difficult to actually do anything, but playing on his phone was at least a good distraction as he passed the time. It was easier to pretend like he was doing something on his phone and relaxing instead of waiting, trapped in some prison with no explanation and no way out.

Jane had been minding her own business after she'd made sure that the order at her bakery had been put away properly when things went to hell.
She had been making her way through the park, a clear easy short cut on the way to her studio apartment, when something seemed to glisten in the dim lighting. Against her better instinct, and the sensible thoughts that told her just keep heading home she had wandered closer and found..
A mirror.
Strange.
Of course nothing could have been stranger than feeling like the mirror was drawing her in and then--
Jane was sucked in.
She tumbled head first into wherever the mirror had deposited her. Landing on her back with an oomph, the teen thought the world was spinning around her. Wind had been effectively knocked from her lungs and she started coughing when she managed to sit up.

Alya didn’t know what to expect in this place, but he hadn’t been expecting company. When he heard a thud, he looked up from his phone with mild alarm. It took a short while to process that someone had landed in here with him and he hastily tucked his phone away, moving closer to her.
“Oh,” he exclaimed; there wasn’t a clear line of what was a welcome breach of personal space and what was too much when you were approaching a stranger that just fell out of nowhere, so he roughed it and went with his gut.
Alya moved to the girl’s side and knelt on one knee, placing a hand on her shoulder as she coughed. “Are you all right?”
The first thing he noticed was that he didn’t know her; the second was that she didn’t seem to be powered up.
On one hand, it meant he didn’t have to worry about a fight breaking out—but, on the other hand, it meant that she probably knew less about what was going on than he did.

Along with all of the other things Jane hadn't expected, a person coming to her aid was certainly not one of them. Blinking several times in hopes that maybe thing would brighten up, she stared at the man kneeling beside her, touching her.
Instincts kicked in and she jerked forward, away from his careful touch. "I'm fine," she snapped, more hostile than she intended.
Scooting forward, she drew her knees towards her chest ignoring the fact that her dress began to ride too far up her thighs. Pale blue took note of their surrounding and the curls of fog that wrapped around her ankles. It took a moment before she looked over at her companion and when she did, she didn't hide the judgement on her face when she took in his outfit.
"What's with the get up?" He looked like he was on his way to one of those conventions or fairs. "And where are we?"

Alya blinked when she recoiled and retracted his hand as if she were a flame he’d come too close to.
For a split second, he couldn’t remember what he was wearing, and his eyes shot down to his outfit.
“Oh, this? I’m a model,” he answered simply; it wasn’t a lie, but it wasn’t the truth. “You can’t possibly have something against how much skin it shows,” he suggested, gesturing towards the exposed flesh on her thighs.
He wasn’t staring; it was an observation only and not meant to be any sort of insult. Instead, he seemed more interested in their environment than he was and ogling the woman in front of him.
Her abrasive response didn’t seem to put him in any sort of mood; instead, he seemed like he was jus distracted. He answered her second question with little enthusiasm. “I have no idea where we are. I’m not even sure how we got here—what were you doing before this?”

The look on Jane's face implied that she didn't believe him. As far as she was concerned, none of what he was wearing looked fashionable. Weren't models supposed to be dressed fashionably? Whatever he had on didn't strike her has something that was in with the current fashion trends.
The remark about her thighs had her huffing, fingers immediately tugging the skirt of her dress down when she looked up and glared at him. Having some skin between her knees and mid thigh exposed was different than having her midriff exposed.
Even if it wasn't, she was immediately put off by him drawing attention to it.
It didn't take long for short and small Jane to get to her feet, the hem of her dress falling lower now that it wasn't rucked up by the fall. "I had been heading home. Passed by something odd and now I'm here."

Alya didn’t seem to really register the glare as anything to be offended by; he was surrounded by scowls for most of his work shift so as far as he was concerned it was basically nothing to worry about.
When Jane rose to her feet, Alya did as well. He didn’t bother to smooth off his outfit and he wasn’t at all ashamed about any skin showing. He pursed his lips and found himself nodding when she spoke and glanced around the room once more. “That’s close enough to what I was doing. The last thing I remember was looking in a mirror. I don’t know if I blacked out or something, but I remember falling. Falling here, that is. Not that I know where here is, but I’m guessing you didn’t get a memo before you got dropped off here either, did you?”
He was hopeful, but if she was just a civilian he doubted she knew any more than she did.
Unless, of course, she was just some unpowered Senshi, or something. Or Negaverse Agent.
He tapped his fingers on his hips for a few seconds and realized it didn’t matter what she was or what she might have been. Looking over his shoulder at her he asked, “Are you okay? I didn’t mean to scare you a moment ago. I’m sorry about that. I just saw you and was worried you might have been hurt.”

Skeptical eyes watched him stand and Jane crossed her arms over her chest in a defensive manner. She even went far enough to press herself again one of the strange walls as if it would provide her with any protection should the strange decide to be a creepy one.
Jane didn't look like much, but she could be scrappy if she needed to.
"Why would I have gotten a memo?" She looked at him like he was stupid for asking, head shaking as blue eyes glanced around. "I told you, I have no idea what this place is except that we're stuck in it."
One hand untucked from the crook of her arm and she rubbed her face, pinching the bridge of her nose between her thumb and forefinger.
"Alright Mr. Model, any useful thoughts on how to get out of here?"kyuseisha no hikari sorry about the wait on this one!

Alya kept a polite smile, but his words betrayed a modest agitation. “Oh, you’re just charming,” he said pleasantly enough. The smile was only slightly strained but he was able to push aside most of his emotions and try to focus on what was actually said instead of how it was said.
He gave Jane her distance, just to be on the safe side.
“If I had any ides, I’d share them. But I’ve never been in this situation before, so none of my ‘Plan B’s’ really seem applicable.”
He glanced at the nearest wall and kicked at it carefully, testing its durability and trying to determine how thick it was—or if there was any possibility that anyone could hear them from the other side.
Nuxaz I'm so sorry about the wait, too!

She found herself a nice wall to lean against before she was sliding down to wrap her arms around herself and hmphed at him. Her feathers were ruffled more than they should have been and she was chalking it up to circumstance and her not thinking clearly. Which, that was frustrating in itself because she was usually more level headed about things.
Dealing with Harold on an almost daily basis helped, a lot, too.
Pale eyes watched him test the wall and squinted. It seemed like a silly thing to, but she also wasn't doing anything so she opted to watch him skeptically. Her own hand reached behind to press against the wall, knuckles wrapping on it to see if it was hollow. It wasn't and she wrinkled her nose.
Nothing about this made sense, why were they tugged into mirrors and why were they left into a room with a stranger and no way out. She was exhausted, feeling as if something was seeping her energy and she struggled to keep her head up.
"For everything that goes on, I don't think there's anyway to have a plan B for something like this."

Alya wasn’t one to give up easily, but he felt a strong nagging in the back of his mind—an overwhelming hopelessness that tried to bleed into all of his thoughts. He ran his fingers over the wall, searching for any inconsistencies or oddities. He pushed against for a few more seconds and then sighed heavily.
He leaned forward, forehead pressing against the cool surface.
“…I hate this place,” he muttered under his breath. He wasn’t claustrophobic, but he felt like the room was getting smaller. He closed his eyes and drew in a slow breath as he tried to think what they could do.
His feet were planted solidly on the ground, so when he felt the first tremor he thought he was imagining it. He heard a distant cracking sound, but it wasn’t until the second tremor that he opened his eyes.
The floor didn’t seem to yield any answers, so he glanced at Jane. “Did you do something?”

Jane barely registered what was going on. She was drowsy and she wanted nothing more than to curl up on herself and sleep. Alya's voice wafted over the small space and the teen had to struggle to lift her head, pale eyes squinting at him.
It was hard to keep from retorting yeah, what else is new, but she managed.
But then he started to panic and she felt some of the sleepiness dissipate. "Huh? What, no. I haven't done anything you must've--" The sound of another crack cut her off and before she could get to her feet, the ground gave out beneath her.
She was falling.kyuseisha no hikari consider this a fin on my end!

The loudness of the crack was enough to pierce through Alya’s senses and he could have sworn that he felt it through his entire body. His heart stopped when he was suddenly thrown off balance. He felt the ground shift, but before he could even turn around to see what was going on, he felt it falling beneath him.
His hand was still on the wall, but the slab of flooring he was standing upon seemed like it was buckling. He couldn’t move to another section of the room—none of it looked stable.
He tried, anyway, but it made no difference.
All he could do was try to fall with dignity.
