How exactly the demons work.
  • When and how the demons are encountered is up to the Demon Head and any relevant Kage or other moderator.
  • In order to obtain a demon, it must first be sealed. Demon seals come with varying strengths and traits; using one that’s too strong or too weak can have adverse effects on a host. Consult the sealing methods guide for more info on individual seals and demon sealing requirements.
  • Seals that are too strong limit the host to Cloak mode, prevent them from learning demonic jutsu or entering Shape mode, and increase stage training times by 2 posts. They also eliminate the chance of the host running amok and prevent them from entering Shape mode during training. Stage [5] cannot be trained with a seal that is too strong.
  • Seals that are too weak cause the host to run amok in Shape mode during training and whenever they encounter one of their fears in a stressful situation (including combat). They also reduce training times for demonic jutsu by 2 posts and reduce the active stage drain by 5 Chakra and/or Stamina (see below).

How the demons work.
  • Each demon has an Energy Pool. This pool functions as both Chakra and Stamina. When it reaches zero, the demon goes unconscious and does not regain consciousness until it has fully recovered.
  • A demon recovers an amount of energy each post equal to its regeneration.
  • While a demon is unconscious, its host (if any) is limited to the Dormant Stage [ 0 ] and loses any benefits gained through mastering higher stages.
  • When encountered in their full form, a demon’s techniques are scaled up to their size.

❖ H o s t R u l e s:

  • Only one of your characters can be a host.
  • There are multiple stages of demonic activation, each requiring its own training to be used voluntarily. Training requirements are listed below.
  • Any stages beyond the Dormant Stage are considered active stages. It takes an activation to enter any active stage and gain its benefits. Any mastered stage can be entered with this activation. This may only be done once per post.
  • Certain stages will offer “basic effects” and/or “mastery effects”. Basic effects are gained by default as soon as the previous stage (if any) has been mastered. Mastery effects are gained only once the stage has been trained completely and overwrite any basic effects of the stage.
  • Active stages have two ways they can manifest: Cloak mode and Shape mode. Details on what each does differs by stage and demon, but in general Cloak mode confers only Chakra and Shape mode confers energy that can be used as either Chakra or Stamina and the demon’s form and techniques, but surrenders some or all power to the demon unless certain conditions are met.
  • When training, the Shape mode activates and the demon assumes control until the host can subdue them. After training is completed, Cloak mode becomes available.
  • Upon entering an active stage, the host gets a boost to their Chakra and/or Stamina, as noted in the stage description. When entering an active stage without going through all the preceding stages, any Chakra and Stamina increases from the lower stages are gained as well. Twice this amount is taken from the demon’s Energy Pool.
  • Any techniques used while in an active stage consume demonic Chakra and/or Stamina first, as applicable. If these pools are reduced to zero, the active stage ends and the host can either transition to a higher state or revert to the Dormant Stage. If this occurs because of an outside technique, the host reverts to Dormant Stage automatically.
  • Demonic energy pools drain at a rate defined in each stage (typically -10 per post). This is denoted as Active Drain. This drain applies to any pool of demonic energy the host has, but does not drain the host’s own pools.
  • Once a stage is mastered, demonic jutsu of the appropriate rank become available to learn. Learning them allows them to be used in Cloak mode, provided the user has access to any necessary physical features (such as a tail). Learning them a second time allows them to be used without need of a demon’s energy, but doing so consumes a Ninjutsu slot of any type and causes them to lose to same-rank techniques. After this retraining is complete, the techniques can be taught to others. Only the generic Bijuu techniques and Bijuu Balls can’t be relearned or taught this way. Level 6 demonic jutsu become available after all other demonic training is complete.
  • Any descriptive ranks granted by an active stage do not stack with descriptive increases granted by techniques.

❖ D e m o n T r a i n i n g:
What happens and how you train.

    Stage [0] - Dormant
    To Master: 4 Posts.
    Training Style: Attempting one-way communication with the demon.
    Description: The dormant stage, which overlies all passive abilities which a demon can grant, is the first stage which needs to be mastered. This stage does not have a Cloak nor a Shape mode.

    Stage [1] - Awoken
    To Master: 6 Posts.
    Training Style: Communicating with the demon during normal ninja training.
    Description: The very first step to training a demon is for the host to start a conversation! The easiest way for this to happen is for the host to be flung into a dire situation, be it mental or physical stress. When they have been brought to this state of danger, the demon will speak to them. Stronger demons will often mock the host, whereas weaker ones may sympathize. For better or worse, after this revelation, the host and demon can communicate freely.
    Cloak: Typically manifests internally, flooding the host’s system with demonic energy.
    Shape: Growth or exaggeration of minor features to make the host more demonic.

    Stage [2] Partial-Miniaturization
    To Master: 8 Posts.
    Training Style: Ninja training using demon's Chakra.
    Description: The demon leaks its Chakra to the host. For inexperienced hosts, this also comes with a sizeable chunk of the demon’s personality and methods of fighting. Without training, this stage is only accessible when the host is in a life or death situation, or whenever the demon makes a grab at power.
    Cloak: A veil of transparent red chakra that resembles the demon. For demons with more tails to their name, this could include one or two tails.
    Shape: Exaggeration of features and sometimes outright transformation via external materials to better resemble the demon’s form, including one or two tails for demons with more.

    Stage [3] - Half-Miniaturization
    To Master: 10 Posts.
    Training Style: Ninja training using demon skin.
    Description: The Chakra that the demon was previously feeding to the host comes faster and at a higher concentration. Inexperienced hosts may frequently cede control to their demon.
    Cloak: A translucent skin of red chakra that greatly resembles the demon. This could mean the manifestation of more tails for demons with more of them.
    Shape: Physical reshaping of the host’s body to better match the demon’s form, including things like horns and other major features. Often results in skin melting away and the resulting blood-chakra mixture obscuring the host’s features. Tail count increases further.

    Stage [4] - Miniature Demon
    To Master: 12 Posts.
    Training Style: An internal struggle for power.
    Description: Similar to the third stage, the host is overwhelmed with demonic Chakra. They quickly lose control and they begin to rampage; from here, the host must fight and regain control over their body or risk having the demon fully manifest.
    Cloak: A translucent skin of red chakra that greatly resembles the demon, much like the previous stage. Unlike the previous stage, the color of the demonic chakra becomes clearer and brighter. Further manifestation of tails is likely.
    Shape: Complete transformation into a form matching the demon’s, but small and often either without skin or with a dense black-red layer of chakra that obscures the skin.

    Stage [5] - Demon Power
    To Master: 14 Posts.
    Training Style: A life or death struggle for power.
    Description: This stage, commonly referred to as "Demon Form", can only be achieved once the host has given up their body to the demon and then taken control of the body once more.
    Cloak: A chakra cloak that builds off of the host’s natural form. Tails typically disappear and strange markings related to the seal(s) in use appear on their body.
    Shape: The demon’s full-sized form.

Techniques that all demons have access to.

    Tailed Beast Shockwave
    Rank X (Trained as C)
    Description: The Bijuu uses its massive Chakra reserve to turn anything from a roar or a wave into a powerful force of pressure and destruction. An E-Rank shockwave has a range of two meters, with an additional meter of range added for every rank beyond that. Shockwaves can disrupt, redirect, or otherwise overpower other techniques and structures of their rank or lower, and the Chakra involved will glow more intensely with each additional rank. S-Rank shockwaves look like explosions to the untrained eye. Shockwaves take up an entire post for their usage, but are launched at the beginning of the post and dissipate at the end. Sizes are given for Jinchuuriki.

    Tailed Beast Chakra Arms
    Rank: B
    Description: Creates arms out of demonic Chakra that can extend up to twenty meters. These arms can interact with objects as the Bijuu's normal appendages can and have all of the Bijuu's normal strength. If used by a host, the arms become those of the host. Last for two posts, with an upkeep cost of 20 Chakra for every post thereafter.

    Chakra Transfer Technique
    Rank: X (Learned as A)
    Description: This technique allows the user to transfer Chakra to another entity. Once the user transfers the Chakra, they are able to manipulate that Chakra remotely. All people with whom the user shares Chakra in this way are affected by techniques that target a certain Chakra signature. This can be used to give other people access to demonic Chakra. For every 10 Chakra spent on this technique, only 5 Chakra is transferred to the target (in other words, this technique has a 50% efficiency rating). This applies even when a Bijuu is transferring energy to its host.

    Bijuu Dama [ Tailed Beast Ball ]
    Rank: S
    Description: An explosive ball of black and white Chakra that is launched or fired after its creation. The ball can be fired differently, either in sphere form to cause a wide-ranging explosion, launched to form a dome-shaped blast which flattens and erases everything around it, or as a concentrated beam of energy which gives it explosive penetrative power. Multiple Bijuu Balls can be combined into one larger ball if multiple Bijuu Balls are available. All Bijuu can charge and fire a basic Tailed Beast Ball in one post. The basic Tailed Beast Ball can wipe out an area the size of a small Village, but cannot be fired more than once every two posts.

    Renzoku Bijuu Dama [ Continuous Tailed Beast Balls ]
    Rank: S
    Description: The tailed beast or transformed jinchūriki fires multiple uncompressed Tailed Beast Balls in rapid succession at the opponent. These Tailed Beast Balls have only a tenth the destructive force of the other versions, but can be fired in rapid succession without any charge time. Fires up to three balls per activation.

    Tailed Beast Switch
    Rank: -
    Description: If a seal has been loosened or is otherwise too weak to contain a demon, or if the host's willpower wanes, the Bijuu can forcibly assume control of the body if it does not want to escape. Similarly, the host can voluntarily allow the Bijuu control over the body, though living through this is a problem if the two are not on good terms. Allows the host to switch between Cloak and Shape modes without changing stages. Does not have to be learned and does not consume Chakra or Stamina, though it does take an activation to use.

    Shinsō Shinri [ Tailed Beast Psyche Plane ]
    Rank: -
    Description: An innate skill possessed by all the tailed beasts which allows them to communicate with one another without speaking on a mental plane. This plane is accessible for all tailed beasts and their respective jinchūriki if the beast so wishes; however, it requires a jinchūriki and their tailed beast to be fully linked to gain access to the deeper plains. Furthermore, it is impossible for influences from the outside to reach this plain, even if the tailed beasts are being controlled. Does not have to be learned, as it is granted by the demon.

D e s c r i p t i o n:
___In the anime series this demon has been shown through Gaara. The demon's look is that of a one tailed tanuki, which resembles a typical raccoon. It boasts a dark beige skin tone, dark blue markings, a long tail, and a well sized stomach. This demon controls the sands of the deserts and the wind of the world, usually combining both to make protection techniques it calls “the ultimate defense.” Past hosts were known to have some of the physical qualities of the demon itself- such as black rings around both of their eyes, or dark blue marks on limbs. The host's attitude also changes; a profound increase in more cynical laughter and a tendency for solitude are common, reflecting the Bijuu’s cunning attitude. Hosts typically carry an object, usually a bottle or gourd, which is capable of containing the Ichibi's sand.

D e m o n T r a i t s:
  • Fuuton Affinity: Shukaku can use Fuuton techniques alongside its usual sand techniques at Bijuu scales. It can learn and use up to seven Fuuton techniques its host knows, can naturally expand its chest beyond normal limits, and has a knack for projectile Ninjutsu, learning them 1 post faster.
  • Jiton Affinity: Shukaku is the inspiration for many Jiton [ Magnet Release ] techniques. Any of Shukaku's demon techniques can be replicated as bloodline techniques by a host with Jiton [ Magnet Release ] and passed on to others with access to that element. After all other demonic training is complete, Shukaku can also grant non-elemental techniques some magnetic properties, allowing them to home in on heavily magnetized entities.
  • Natural Curse Mark: When fully manifested, Shukaku can elect to use its own body when using sand-based techniques. By paying double the technique's usual cost, that sand can be reinforced with the power of the markings on its body, causing the technique to be treated as though it contained Natural Energy.
  • Sleeping Monster: When fully manifested while its host is asleep, Shukaku recovers twice its normal recovery amount every post.
  • Power Hungry: If Shukaku's host runs out of demonic Chakra while in an active stage, they must immediately either transition to another stage they have mastered or the dormant stage; otherwise, Shukaku will force them into the next stage and go on a rampage.

    Stage [0] - Dormant
      Basic Effects:
        Passive Chakra increase: +20 Chakra.
      • Shukaku will protect the host with Shield of Sand no matter the host's desire.
      • Severe insomnia. Sleeping can cause Shukaku to manifest.
      Mastery Effects:
        Passive Chakra increase: +30 Chakra.
      • Shukaku will protect host with Shield of Sand if they cannot react, but only if the technique has been used in battle already.
      • Severe insomnia. Sleeping can cause Shukaku to manifest.
      • Desert's Wrath (Passive Attribute): Sand-based techniques are treated as one rank higher when used in collaboration with Fuuton techniques.

    Stage [1] - Awoken
      Active Drain: 10.
      Cloak Mode:
        Chakra Increase: 50.
        Manifestation: Chakra signature shifts to more closely match Shukaku’s. Fine particulate matter (i.e. sand) floats around the host.
      Shape Mode:
        Energy Increase: 50.
        Manifestation: The host gains certain characteristics, such as dark outlines around both eyes, slight growth of the teeth, and a subtle lengthening of the ears.
      • Host can create small sand patches on their body to absorb up to D-Rank physical damage. Costs 10 Chakra per patch.

    Stage [2] - Partial-Miniaturization
      Active Drain: 20.
      Cloak Mode:
        Chakra Increase: 100.
        Manifestation: A thin skin of demonic Chakra clings to the host's body. Fine particulate matter (i.e. sand) floats around the host.
      Shape Mode:
        Energy Increase: 100.
        Manifestation: The host gains dark outlines around both eyes, their teeth grow, and their ears elongate slightly. Sand wraps around the host's torso like armor with Shukaku's markings visible on it.
      • The sand that lines the torso acts as medium armor.
      • Speed decreases moderately. This vanishes if Stage [3] is mastered.

    Stage [3] - Half-Miniaturization
      Active Drain: 30.
      Cloak Mode:
        Chakra Increase: 150.
        Manifestation: The demonic Chakra thickens and darkens. Long ears and a tail sprout from the cloak.
      • Sand techniques used by the host become a rank stronger within a meter of their body.
      Shape Mode:
        Energy Increase: 150.
        Manifestation: The sand armor formed in the previous stage completely encases the host's torso, dominant arm, and half of their face. It also grows out into a small tail. The half of the face covered in sand has an eye that looks like Shukaku's own: black with a golden star for an iris.
      • Sand techniques used by the host become a rank stronger within a meter of their body.
      • The sand that lines the host's body acts as medium armor and can be manipulated for use with sand-based techniques.

    Stage [4] - Miniature Demon
      Active Drain: 40.
      Cloak Mode:
        Chakra Increase: 200.
        Manifestation: The demonic Chakra stabilizes on the host's body. Fine particulate matter settles on the cloak in a crude mimicry of Shukaku's patterns and the cloak darkens around their eyes.
      • Sand techniques used by the host become a rank stronger within a meter of their body.
      Shape Mode:
        Energy Increase: 200.
        Manifestation: The host is swallowed by sand, becoming a miniature Shukaku everywhere but their still uncovered legs. Its influence strengthens their body.
      • Sand techniques used by the host become a rank stronger within a meter of their body.
      • The sand that lines the host's body acts as heavy armor and can be manipulated for use with sand-based techniques.
      • Strength and fortitude are greatly increased.

    Stage [5] - Demon Power
      Active Drain: 50.
      Cloak Mode:
        Chakra Increase: 250.
        Manifestation: Sand folds in on the host's body, forming a thin skin bearing their Chakra signature and color. Shukaku's markings are present on the skin and demonic Chakra continually swirls about the host like dust eddies.
      • Sand techniques used by the host become a rank stronger within 2 meters of their body.
      • Sand-based techniques used lose any elemental weaknesses they have.
      • Strength and fortitude are moderately increased.
      Shape Mode:
        Energy Increase: N/A; Shukaku's pools are used directly. Drain still applies.
        Manifestation: The host is totally swallowed by sand and becomes a full-sized Shukaku.
      • Sand techniques used by the host become a rank stronger within a meter of their body.
      • Sand-based techniques used lose any elemental weaknesses they have.
      Mastery Effects:
      • Vastness of the Desert (Passive Attribute): At the host's discretion, defensive techniques and Fuuin can be raised in strength by one rank, so long as Shukaku agrees to pay half their cost.
      • Sleep no longer means Shukaku runs amok.
      • Naturally Replicable (Passive Attribute): A host can permanently learn any demon techniques that have a counterpart in the normal Ninjutsu list as augments of their counterparts. Teaching them yields the same benefit for the learner(s). This attribute remains even if all other traces of the demon are removed.

D e m o n T e c h n i q u e s:
    Level 0
      Suna Soushi no Jutsu [ Sand Creation Technique ]
      Rank: D
      Description: The process of breaking down earth and other such materials into sand for storage or other techniques. Converts one square meter of rock into sand for each post of activation. Can be sustained for half its cost per activation. Does not consume an activation to use if this upkeep has been paid anytime in the last 2 posts and the user is in the same thread as that usage.

      Suna no Tama [ Sand Bullet ]
      Rank: D
      Description: The host forms a small sphere made of sand and compresses it into their hand to increase its hardness. The sphere can strike opponents with such speed and force that it knocks them unconscious. Only inflicts nonlethal damage.

      Suna no Tate [ Shield of Sand ]
      Rank: X (Trained as D)
      Description: A veil of sand that intercepts attacks on the user’s behalf. The shield is capable of withstanding considerably strong attacks and projectiles, and can be hardened to a point where it's stronger than steel. It can be avoided entirely with extremely high-speed attacks or bypassed with incredible brute force. Is not negated by technique interactions unless the entire area it covers is hit simultaneously. Blocks techniques up to its rank, but its speed is always B-Rank. Lasts for four posts, with an upkeep cost of five Chakra per post afterward.

    Level 1
      Tanukineiri no Jutsu [ Feigning Sleep Technique ]
      Rank: D
      Description: The user exerts chakra to induce sleep, typically in themselves. A strong hit will wake them up. Can only be used on oneself or willing targets. Allows for the affected to be put instantly to sleep, thus gaining any regeneration benefits associated with sleep. A firm shake is enough to wake them, or they will wake up naturally after a full sleep cycle, approximately 3 hours. For the host of Shukaku, this allows the demon to manifest as a mass of sand around the user, instantly sending them into a full physical manifestation of Shukaku under its control which ends upon their awakening.

      Daisan no Me [ Third Eye ]
      Rank: D
      Description: Using Chakra, the host connects a sand-made eye to their optic nerve, which enables them to know what happens in the sand eye's field of vision. Can be sustained for half its cost every 2 posts after the second one. Unlike the Doton version, this one automatically restores itself if destroyed and can move freely at D-Rank speed within the subforum.

      Suna Bunshin no Jutsu [ Sand Clone Technique ]
      Rank: C
      Description: The Sand Clone is different from the other types of clone techniques in that the sand does not completely assume the form of the user, but remains as sand the entire time. That is to say, the clone's form can be changed instantly into sand, and the enemy's body can be trapped. Its many applications with long-range attacks can have it act as a lure and a decoy. The Sand Clone can be used as a medium for other sand-based techniques and can be recreated immediately if destroyed by paying its cost again.

      Suna Shigure [ Sand Drizzle ]
      Rank: B
      Description: After condensing sand into countless small lumps, the host launches them at an enemy from every direction. Because all the sand lumps are controlled by Chakra, it is possible to commence an attack with almost zero blind spots. The rain covers an area up to five meters in radius and can cause moderate injury to all affected. Sand can be made to cling to targets for an additional 20 Chakra at activation. Lasts for three posts, after which it can be sustained for an upkeep cost of half its cost every post.

    Level 2
      Suna no Yoroi [ Armor of Sand ]
      Rank: C
      Description: The host covers themselves in a compacted layer of sand, providing an additional defense should other protective measures fail. Though quite effective, maintaining the armor requires a large amount of Chakra and Stamina and it is much more brittle than the Shield of Sand. The additional weight of the sand means a moderate decrease to speed and reflex. Lasts for two posts, with an upkeep cost of half its original cost for every post following.

      Sabaku Kyuu [ Sand Binding Coffin ]
      Rank: B
      Description: The host encases an opponent in a large amount of the Shukaku's special sand, immobilizing and potentially suffocating them. Takes 1 post to fully encase a target.

      Sabaku Sousou [ Desert Funeral ]
      Rank: X (Trained as B)
      Description: After wrapping an opponent with sand with either Sand Binding Coffin or Sand Drizzle, the host will cause the sand to implode and crush whatever is within it. The pressure produces a sizable fountain of blood.

      Suna Shuriken [ Sand Shuriken ]
      Rank: B
      Description: The user creates compact shuriken sand. The host will then swing their arms, using the force to propel the projectiles with incredible speed. Because of their super compact properties, the sand shuriken are much deadlier than actual metal shuriken and have enough force behind them to bruise even through most armor techniques. Ignores up to a moderate increase to fortitude.

    Level 3
      Sabaku Fuyuu [ Desert Suspension ]
      Rank: C
      Description: The user will place Chakra-infused sand beneath their feet, molding it into a platform. Manipulating this sand, the user can then hover above the ground. Lasts for three posts. Can be sustained with 10 Chakra upkeep for each post beyond that.

      Shukaku no Tate [ Shield of Shukaku ]
      Rank: X (Trained as B)
      Description: The Shield of Shukaku is said to be the Supreme Absolute Defense of Shukaku’s host. To stop an incoming attack, they will create a small Shukaku demon out of sand. This mini-Shukaku is a very strong defensive barrier that can block techniques up to one rank above its own. Requires an upkeep of half the initial activation cost for every post beyond the first post of activation, to a minimum of 5 Chakra.

      Rendan: Suna Shigure [ Successive Shots: Sand Drizzle ]
      Rank: A
      Description: A powered up version of the typical Sand Drizzle. Using additional Chakra and sand, the lumps previously used become super compact sand bullets capable of breaking bones. Is applied once at any time during the effect of Sand Drizzle and remains active as long as the same Sand Drizzle does. A Suna Shigure affected by this technique can fire in any direction.

    Level 4
      Suna no Tama [ Sphere of Sand ]
      Rank: C
      Description: Used while Shield of Sand is active. The host surrounds themselves with their Shield of Sand to guard against attacks. In addition to being extremely dense, this sand-sphere can form spikes from its surface to spear any would-be attacker. This technique can also be used in mid-air, which causes it to float. B-Rank techniques can break through with some ease, provided they can reach the sphere’s surface.

      Shukaku no Hoko [ Halberd of Shukaku ]
      Rank: X (Trained as B)
      Description: The Halberd of Shukaku is said to be the Supreme Absolute Offense of Shukaku’s host. The host uses high-density sand to form a long halberd which can then be thrown. The strength of the material allows it to penetrate strong defenses up to a rank above its own, but its weight makes it fly at a rank lower in speed.

      Gokusa Maisou [ Prison Sand Burial ]
      Rank: A
      Description: The host loosens the ground below any targets and causes them to sink two hundred meters into the earth. The pressure resulting from being buried at such an extreme depth would surely kill any normal human, if not from suffocation, then from the fact that all their bones would break.       Description: A capturing Ninjutsu that is a major characteristic to Shukaku's host. An enormous quantity of sand completely envelops the target from every direction in order to capture them. The durability and size of the prison depend on the amount of Chakra poured into it. One can fine-tune the sand's properties to the target's size and properties, with a person-sized target costing C-Rank to contain. Those captured must pay Stamina at one rank lower than this technique’s rank in order to move enough to activate a technique via hand seals.

      Sabaku Soutaisou [ Desert Layered Imperial Funeral ]

      Description: The user covers the enemy with several successive layers of sand before compressing it into the form of a huge pyramid which acts to imprison the target upon its completion. Using Shukaku's Chakra along with this technique increases the strength of the binding and sealing power by one rank. Requires the activation of an S-Rank technique to disrupt the sand from within. Lasts for five posts, but becomes permanent with the addition of Sabaku Soutaisou Fuuin [ Desert Layered Imperial Funeral Seal ].

      Suna no Kanchi [ Sand Sensing ]

      Description: A contact type sensory technique that creates and uses a fine cloud of sand as its medium. If this substance is spread upon appropriately textured and colored terrain, it becomes almost impossible to detect simply by appearance alone. Covers an area one hundred meters in radius and lasts for three posts, after which there is an upkeep cost of 10 Chakra per post.

      Description: The user forms a large protective wall to block incoming attacks, such as explosions. Can block Village-sized assaults up to A-Rank in power. Lasts for five posts, with an upkeep cost of 40 Chakra for every post afterward.

      Suna Raishin [ Sand Lightning Needles ]

      Description: The user will hurl sand into the air which will come down around the area as hard spikes. These spikes act as grounding rods and will neutralize electricity-based techniques up to A-Rank. Lasts for five posts.

      Sabaku Taisou [ Sand Waterfall Imperial Funeral ]
      Rank: S
      Description: Following the Quicksand Waterfall Flow technique, the host slams both hands palm down into the sand, creating powerful shockwaves that compress the sand. Anything buried in the sand is subsequently crushed. The compressions also create massive earthquakes. Can be used in any landscape covered in sand. Affects an area up to twenty meters across.

      Sabaku Soutaisou Fuuin [ Desert Layered Imperial Funeral Seal ]
      Rank: S
      Description: Using its own sand-body as a medium, Shukaku first covers its opponent in layers of sand, which forms into a steep pyramid. The intricate markings on the tanuki's body then serve as an interlocking cursed seal, which when completed, traps the captive. This seal completely restricts movement and the usage of Chakra within its boundaries and will shrink Shukaku to half his size until he is able to make enough sand to replace that which was lost. Takes one post to set up and activate.

      Suna no Mayu [ Cocoon of Sand ]

      Description: After forming the needed hand seals, a thick sphere of sand will surround the host’s body. This sand cocoon is made as a defensive measure and can be manipulated in conjunction with other sand techniques.

      Ryousa Bakuryou [ Quicksand Waterfall Flow ]
      Rank: S
      Description: This jutsu sends a massive amount of sand towards an opponent in the form of a wave, drowning them in an ocean of sand. In addition to the wave effect of the Jutsu, the host can control the sand, allowing them to attack an opponent while they attempt to outrun the wave. It was once shown that the technique can be so powerful as to change the landscape, turning acres of forest into nothing but a desert with occasional broken trees. Coats an area up to 30 meters across in sand up to four meters deep.

      Fuuton: Sasandan [ Wind Release: Sand Scattering Bullets ]

      Description: After forming numerous sand bullets, Shukaku expels a giant gust of wind from its stomach to increase the force of the bullets. This can be used to redirect and vastly increase the speed and penetrating power of any projectiles in the blast, which covers an area twenty meters across starting at the user’s mouth.

D e s c r i p t i o n:
___In the anime series this demon has been shown through Yugito Nii. The demon's look is that of a two-tailed cat. It is constantly shrouded in a dark blue spectral flame; this flame quickly burns Chakra entities in addition to functioning as a normal flame would. The Bakeneko has a green eye—which gazes in to the dreams of sleepers—and a yellow eye—which gazes upon the physical world. It also has two long tails, large, sharp fangs, and claws. This demon controls the fires of the world and can influence the dream world, wherein it makes its home. Past hosts were known to have some of the physical qualities of the demon itself: many were slender and agile, and almost all past hosts kept their hair long. Should the Nibi influence its host’s personality, the host will tend to be much more aggressive than normal Shinobi, though they are also typically lazier and, paradoxically, more polite, much like the demon. Hosts usually wear a string of prayer beads around one arm to symbolize their connection with the demon.

D e m o n T r a i t s:
  • Katon Affinity: Matatabi has working knowledge of Katon techniques. If the host knows Katon techniques, then it will know the same ones and be able to use them on the scale of a Bijuu. If not bound to a host with an elemental affinity for Katon, the host can study and have the demon learn up to seven Katon Jutsu up to the host's body rank, but only if the two are on good terms.
  • Spectral Fire: Matatabi’s techniques can incorporate the beast’s spectral fire instead of normal fire. Spectral fire will disperse Chakra forms up to its rank and can slightly destabilize techniques up to one rank above them, but they have little impact on techniques not including any Chakra. In effect, Spectral Fire techniques are treated as a rank stronger against Chakra-containing techniques, but a rank weaker against Stamina-only techniques. This fire is treated the same as Katon techniques after accounting for the Chakra disrupting effects.

        Chakra Increase: 100.
        Manifestation: A thin skin of demonic Chakra clings to the host's body. White-blue sparks leap off of their body at random, though they are not enough to start fires.
      Shape Mode:
        Energy Increase: 100.
        Manifestation: Dark blue spectral flames sprout along the host’s spine and shoulders and form a crude imitation of a tail at their rear. Their nails strengthen further and elongate slightly, in addition to the previous stage’s physical changes.
      • Striking the flames on the host’s body causes D-Rank damage to the attacker.
      • Host’s reflexes are increased moderately.
      • Host’s strength decreases moderately. This vanishes if Stage [3] is mastered.

    Stage [3] - Half-Miniaturization
      Active Drain: 10.
      Cloak Mode:
        Chakra Increase: 150.
        Manifestation: The demonic Chakra thickens and darkens. Short ears ears and a tail sprout from the cloak.
      Shape Mode:
        Energy Increase: 150.
        Manifestation: The flames sprouted in the previous stage spread out to totally cover the host’s back and cheeks and begins to creep down their limbs. The first tail finishes forming and is shrouded in a heat haze. The fire coating the host’s hands and feet forms claws.
      • Striking the flames on the host’s body causes D-Rank damage to the attacker.
      • Those within a meter of the host suffer light burns after 1 post. This effect can be removed by also forfeiting the increase to speed listed below.
      • Speed and reflexes moderately increased.

    Stage [4] - Miniature Demon

        Manifestation: The demonic Chakra stabilizes on the host's body as the second tail forms. Blue sparks dance across the surface of the cloak in swirling patterns reminiscent of Matatabi’s flames.

        Manifestation: The host will allow Matatabi's spectral fire to absorb almost all of their body, leaving only the eyes unchanged. Facial features become feline, limbs take on the demon's shape, fangs and claws lengthen and sharpen, and the second tail begins to form.
      • Those within a meter of the host suffer light burns after 1 post and moderate burns after 2 posts. This effect can be removed by removing the effect listed below.
      • Striking the flames on the host’s body causes C-Rank damage to the attacker.

    Stage [5] - Demon Power

        Manifestation: A flamelike skin slips over the host’s body, perfectly conforming to it and giving them two thin, fiery tails. Blue sparks rise off of their body and illuminate their surroundings in a pale glow.
      • The cloak can be used as the source for any fire-based techniques.
      • Striking the flames on the host’s body causes D-Rank damage to the attacker.
      • Any techniques employing spectral fire lose their elemental weaknesses, if any.
      Shape Mode:
        Energy Increase: N/A; Matatabi's pools are used directly. Drain still applies.
        Manifestation: The host is engulfed in flame and becomes a full-sized Matatabi.
      • Any techniques employing spectral fire lose their elemental weaknesses, if any.

      Description: The user flares their Chakra into spears of fire coming out of their body, extending outward two meters and skewering anything that they touch. The flames cause minor burns to flesh and ignite flammables. If used with spectral fire, this technique interrupts the flow of Chakra in techniques C-Rank and lower, ending them.

      Hoshokusha no Jutsu [ Predator Technique ]

      Description: Increases the user’s feelings of aggression while coating their feet in spectral flames. The flames will spread across another entity very quickly on contact and burn for three of the affected character’s posts.

      Hitodama no Jutsu [ Corpse Fire Technique ]

      Description: The user forms preexisting fires into floating orbs of spectral flame that hang in the air. The strength of the spectral flames is directly related to the intensity of the original fire. Orbs disappear after five posts and can be shot up to 10 meters away.

      Houka no Waza [ Art of Setting Fires ]
      Rank: C
      Description: The user flicks a small ball of spectral fire at the target. When the ball hits something, it spreads up to 1 meter around the struck entity and burns hotly for one post. Extremely effective against Chakra forms when used with spectral fire, as it will continue to burn any additional Jutsu present in the area affected after the first one is gone.

      Higuchi no Jutsu [ Flaming Maw Technique ]
      Rank: B
      Description: The user creates a spectral flame in their hand and throws it at a target. After hitting, the flame climbs up a target without moving outward. The fire will continue to grow in height even after it has reached the top of the target, reaching up to 20 meters above them. This can serve as a beacon for allies or other attacks and will behave like normal fire after five posts.

      Rank: B
      Description: The user hunkers down and forces themselves to sleep. During this time, they regain half of any Chakra drained by spectral flames in the same thread since they fell asleep. Technique cooldowns are reduced by 1 additional post for each post spent asleep. The user must sleep for at least 2 posts after activating this technique or will be unable to use techniques above C-Rank for 3 posts. If the user remains asleep for at least 4 posts, they may also assume direct control of any number of creatures made of spectral fire in the same subforum.

      Fuanshin no Jutsu [ Uncertainty Technique ]
      Rank: C
      Description: The user whips a limb or tail at a target quickly, intending to strike or envelop them. The limb leaves a streak of spectral fire in the air for two posts afterward along its path, providing a constant danger to the other Shinobi in the area.

      Honoo no Tate [ Blaze Shield ]
      Rank: B
      Description: Creates a ring of flame around the crown of the head. When the user is threatened, they can cause the ring to balloon outward and form a shield that covers them. The shield is capable of blocking techniques B-Rank or lower and vanishes after 1 post.

      Waregane no Jutsu [ Cracked Bell Technique ]
      Rank: A
      Description: The user builds up Chakra in the palms of their hands, and then slams them into the ground. The ground cracks and belches out flames that shoot upward and heat the area quickly. The flames burn for five posts before fading. Affects an entire thread.

    Level 4
      Toraneko no Jutsu [ Ocelot Technique ]
      Rank: B
      Description: The user distributes Chakra through their limbs and uses it to supremely boost all physical stats for a short time, but only for the purposes of movement. While under the influence of this technique, incredible feats of athleticism become possible, such as jumping hundreds of feet in the air or making hairpin turns at incredibly high speeds. Stacks with other Jutsu-based descriptive increases. Has no effect on evasion. Lasts for four posts.

      Chousan no Jutsu [ Paper Lantern Technique ]
      Rank: A
      Description: The user molds a cube out of the spectral flame. The cube is capable of floating on water and gives off a bright light. When it comes into contact with another technique or something solid, it explodes and coats everything in a 10 meter radius with flames. The flames spread quickly even across the water, providing no safe haven for those affected. If used with spectral flames, those affected will have an A-Rank amount of Chakra burned away, after which the flames turn normal.

      Funakaji no Jutsu [ Fire aboard Ship Technique ]
      Rank: A
      Description: Creates a field of spectral flame of radius 10 meters around the user. This field follows the user wherever they go, and while the spectral flames do not spread, the fires they cause do. Lasts for five posts.

    Level 5
      Nijuushin no Jutsu [ Doppelganger Technique ]
      Rank: B
      Description: The user lashes out at a target with a flame-covered limb or tail. If the target catches fire, even for a brief moment, the fire grows in to a clone of that person and continues to fight under the user’s control. The Doppelganger can be dispersed by a lethal strike to the head or chest and functions as a clone created by the user with the user’s Chakra signature, though it uses the target’s abilities. Disperses after 5 posts.

      Gotokuneko [ Cat of Five Virtues ]
      Rank: A
      Description: The user exhales a large wall of spectral fire that burns brightly. If this technique ignites anything, then small kittens made of spectral fire start spawning from the blaze, and continue to do so until it is extinguished at a rate of two per user’s post. The kittens can be operated like solid clones, though they cannot use techniques above C-Rank. If there are already spectral flames present, they may be used to spawn kittens as well. Kittens are one-tenth the size of the user.

      Neko no Suzu [ Cat’s Bell ]
      Rank: A
      Description: The user forms a bell-like attachment for their tail, hair, or neck out of spectral flames. The bell lasts for five posts and decreases the cost of all demonic techniques by 20 Chakra, to a minimum of 5 Chakra. Cost reductions only apply in the presence of fire.

      Bakeneko no Jutsu [ Demon Cat Technique ]
      Rank: S
      Description: The Nibi’s version of the Bijuu Ball. It begins by gathering a large amount of spectral flame in its mouth, then fires it in a beam-type attack. The blast blows away most defenses and coats everything in its path in spectral flames. After using this attack, the Nibi starts to feel sleepy once more and cannot activate techniques above B-Rank for three posts.

    Level 6
      Goryou no Jutsu [ Vengeful Departed Spirits Technique ]
      Rank: B
      Description: Creates twenty to thirty floating orbs that hover at random heights about in an area. When a Chakra-containing body other than the user comes within a meter of an orb, it explodes, coating an area up to 2 meters around it in flames that spread out to envelop anything they contact.

      Nekomata no Jutsu [ Fork-Tail Demon Cat Technique ]

      Description: Wraps the user in fire to mimic Matatabi’s form without changing the user’s size. This includes the creation of solid fangs, claws, and a tail that the user can manipulate at will. Lasts for eight posts.

D e s c r i p t i o n:
___The demon's body is that of an enormous, three-tailed turtle. It is covered in a thick shell that is green on every part of its body except for the underbelly, where it is red; the green shell is incredibly hard and resistant to Chakra of all natures and forms, as is the red shell to a lesser extent. It also has three tails that are each longer than the main body and are pointed on their ends, making them viable weapons; large, sharp extensions of the shell that cover most of the face; hands with functioning thumbs; a powerful jaw; and thick, muscular legs. This demon controls the waters of the world and can influence the minds of those around it via illusions. None of the past hosts were known to retain any physical qualities of the demon. Should the demon influence its host’s personality, the host will tend to be incredibly shy, not unlike the demon itself. Hosts typically wear green to symbolize their connection with the demon.

D e m o n T r a i t s:
  • Suiton Affinity: Isobu has working knowledge of Suiton techniques. If the host knows Suiton techniques, then it will know the same ones and be able to use them on the scale of a Bijuu.       • Slow Overcharge (Passive Attribute): The host can choose to tap into Isobu’s Chakra on a very selective basis. By extending the charge time on a technique by one post, the host is able to use the demon’s Chakra to double the range, duration, or power of the technique. This drains from Isobu an amount of Chakra equal to that paid by the host to activate the technique.

    Stage [2] - Partial-Miniaturization

        Chakra Increase: 100.
        Manifestation: A thin skin of demonic Chakra clings to the host’s body. A strong scent of seawater permeates the area around them.
      Shape Mode:
        Energy Increase: 100.
        Manifestation: The shell that previously appeared in patches now covers the chest, arms, legs, and neck of the host and also protrudes near the rear to form a small imitation of the demon's first tail. Additionally, the shell on the host’s chest thickens and takes on a dark red hue.
      • Shell acts as light armor.
      • Shell thickens as it coats host’s limbs, increasing fortitude moderately and providing D-Rank defenses.
      • Land speed moderately decreased; swimming speed moderately increased.

    Stage [3] - Half-Miniaturization

      Cloak Mode:
        Chakra Increase: 150.
        Manifestation: The cloak thickens greatly, expanding to match the general shape of Isobu. The first tail forms. The stench of seawater abates somewhat, only to reappear whenever the cloak is disrupted.
      Shape Mode:
        Energy Increase: 150.
        Manifestation: The shell that previously coated the limbs now completely encases them, and has spread to cover all but the host’s head. The first tail also finishes forming and extends, while the second tail begins to form. The shell coating the host’s arms, legs, and shoulders grows small spikes.
      • Shell covers most of the host’s body, acting as medium armor. Spikes inflict D-Rank damage to any unarmored melee attackers.
      • Land speed moderately decreased; swimming speed moderately increased.

    Stage [4] - Miniature Demon
      Active Drain: 20.
      Cloak Mode:
        Chakra Increase: 200.
        Manifestation: The second tail forms. The cloak darkens in color and ripples like water whenever the host moves quickly.
      Shape Mode:
        Energy Increase: 200.
        Manifestation: Isobu's thick shell absorbs all of their body, leaving only the eyes unchanged. Bodily features become that of the demon: the limbs thicken to withstand the weight of the shell, the spiked protrusions begin to cover the host’s face, the second tail finishes forming. Additionally, the original green shell begins to break up as the spikes grow, coating the host’s back and limbs like heavy armor while the thinner red shell coats the rest of the body.
      • Unable to stand on two legs.
      • Land speed supremely decreased; swimming speed supremely increased. Using Shunshin and related techniques while in the water does not consume a use of Shunshin for the battle.
      • Shell functions as heavy armor.
      • Strength moderately increased.

    Stage [5] - Demon Power

      Cloak Mode:
        Chakra Increase: 250.
        Manifestation: The Chakra cloak increases in density until it solidifies, forming a layer of Isobu’s shell on the host’s body that follows their form instead of mimicking the demon’s.
      • Swimming speed supremely increased. Using Shunshin and related techniques while in the water does not consume a use of Shunshin for the battle.
      • Shell perfectly lines the host's entire body, forming a second skin and allowing the host to determine which kind (red or green) of shell they wear, and where.
      • Red Shell: Red shell is lighter and affords the wearer resistance to Genjutsu. For hosts not of Genjutsu class, this lowers the requirement for using Kai [ Release ] by one rank; for members of the Genjutsu class, this alerts the host if they’re being afflicted by a Genjutsu that affects more than one sense in addition to the above. These effects are only gained if the Genjutsu afflicts an area covered by this shell (i.e. red shell on the stomach doesn’t do anything for olfactory illusions).
      • Green Shell: Green shell is tough and heavy. All projectile attacks are treated as being two ranks less powerful against this shell and Taijutsu and Bukijutsu are treated as if they were one rank less powerful. Any descriptive increases to incoming techniques are negated. On top of this, it provides B-Rank physical armor. If more than half of the wearer’s body is covered in green shell, they cannot use any type of Shunshin or Kawarimi technique and only gets two activations per post instead of three.
      • Using Shunshin and related techniques while in the water does not consume a use of Shunshin for the battle.

      Mizu Yobidashi no Jutsu [ Water Calling Technique ]

      Description: Pulls water gently toward the user for use in other techniques. This is strong enough to make water climb up gentle slopes, but it cannot redirect other techniques. Water gathering range is 30 meters around the user.

      Kawa no Jutsu [ Shell Technique ]

      Description: Thickens the skin on and around the user’s hands, making them capable of blocking attacks up to D-Rank with their hands. Lasts for three posts.

      Description: The user forces water to form a defensive dome above them that stretches down to ankle-height, providing a powerful, immobile defense capable of blocking techniques up to C-Rank. Ignores any descriptive increases to incoming techniques. Lasts for five posts.

      Kiri Torihazushi [ Mist Dismantling ]

      Description: Creates an area of radius two meters around the user devoid of mists and airborne pollutants, including poison. Shunts out any aerial contaminants that appear in its area of effect after use. Lasts for five posts.

      Nagare no Jutsu [ Current Technique ]
      Rank: B
      Description: The user sends some of the Sanbi’s Chakra into a body of water and causes it to move in one direction. The Chakra pulls the water with it as it moves, creating a swift current that pushes all objects in its path at great speeds. Current lasts for four posts.

      Uroko Tsuba no Jutsu [ Fish Scale Spitting Technique ]
      Rank: B
      Description: The user compresses demonic Chakra into thin plates in their mouth, then spits them at great speeds. The plates resemble fish scales in shape, but are very sharp and rapidly expand to a meter across as they fly. The plates disappear three posts after coming to rest or one post after hitting water. Shoots a maximum of five scales per use.

    Level 3
      Gosunkugi: Shuuren no Jutsu [ Long Nail: Convergence Technique ]
      Rank: B
      Description: The user grows spikes made of the same material as Isobu’s shell, aiming to skewer a target’s body. After skewering the target, the spikes become porous coral, allowing the user to pump water into the skewered enemy, though this function can only be used in the presence of a large body of water. Spikes break off and turn to saltwater after two posts.

      Gosunkugi: Harinezumi no Jutsu [ Long Nail: Porcupine Technique ]
      Rank: B
      Description: Grows spikes on the user’s body 2 meters directly outward and sharpens them. If any spikes skewer anything, all of them become porous coral and begin pumping out water, regardless of the user’s will. Can only be used in the presence of a large body of water. Spikes break off and turn to saltwater after two posts.

      Sangoshou [ Coral Palm ]
      Rank: B
      Description: The user strikes the opponent with a powerful blow, causing a large formation of coral to quickly grow from the initial point of contact. This coral rapidly solidifies and restricts the enemy's mobility as it continues to grow, eventually covering their entire body. Can be used with any Taijutsu technique or as a standalone attack. Mobility restriction and coral durability start at C-Rank and increase by one rank per post. Coral prevents hand seals from being formed after two posts of growth.

      Gosunkugi: Se no Jutsu [ Long Nail: Torrent Technique ]
      Rank: A
      Description: After this technique is activated, shell spikes shoot out of the user and branch off into many smaller ones. The branching process continues until a hemisphere of spikes surrounds them, at which point each branch becomes porous coral and begins to pump out large amounts of water at high speeds. Can only be used in the presence of a large body of water. Spikes break off and turn to saltwater after two posts.

    Level 4
      Jigoku Nagare no Jutsu [ Hell Current Technique ]
      Rank: A
      Description: By feeding a large amount of demonic Chakra in to a body of water, the host can cause the water to flow in any direction along a route that they designate at the activation of this technique. The current is swift and moves at speeds comparable to Shunshin along the path. Lasts for six posts.

      Kaimetsuteki Nami [ Catastrophic Wave ]
      Rank: S
      Description: By feeding a large amount of Chakra in to a large body of water, the host causes it to rise up and coat nearby landscapes. After coating the land, the water quickly recedes, dragging all protrusions on the landscape with it. This technique is especially devastating to crops if used with saltwater.

    Level 5
      Shukuzu Sanran no Jutsu [ Miniature Copy Spawning Technique ]
      Rank: B
      Description: The host opens its mouth and allows several miniature versions of the Sanbi to crawl out. The miniatures then chase and attack all creatures in the area other than the host, and are capable of using level three or lower Demon techniques as long as the user feeds them Chakra. Spawns five miniature copies per use.

      Kiri Gensou no Jutsu [ Mist Illusions Technique ]
      Rank: A
      Description: After expelling a large amount of mist from their mouth, the user can manipulate it to cast illusions on anyone within. The illusions vary from person to person, affecting each in the way that they would fear the most. Additionally, the illusions attempt to lead the targets toward traps and other lethal formations, such as cliffs. Using Kai [ Release ] allows a 1 post reprieve from the illusions. The illusions immediately cease to affect those who leave the mist.

      Kouro Otoshi [ Shell Tower Falling ]
      Rank: A
      Description: Isobu (or the host while fully transformed into Isobu) rolls into a ball and bulldozes its opponents, making full use of its many spiky protrusions in a manner similar to the Akimichi clan's Spiked Human Bullet Tank. This maneuver can also be used to escape attacks.

      Suisou no Jutsu [ Liquid Transmission Technique ]
      Rank: S
      Description: Creates a small pocket dimension through which the user can travel to reach a new body of water. This technique can only be used once per month, and it takes a full 24 hours to reach the destination after the technique is activated. As soon as it is activated, a thick membrane appears around the user at both the entrance and exit points. If either of these membranes is popped, the technique is canceled and the user is expelled into the body of water that held it previously. Popping the membrane requires an S-Ranked attack.

      Atsuryokuha [ Pressure Wave ]
      Rank: S
      Description: The Sanbi’s version of the Bijuu Ball. It focuses its demonic Chakra with its three tails, wraps it in saltwater, and launches it at a given target. When the ball explodes, the water does as well, dousing all but the hardiest of fires and drowning the landscape in a quickly-spreading flood.

    Level 6
      Kawarou no Jutsu [ Shell Prison Technique ]
      Rank: B
      Description: The user makes a hand seal, then touches and focuses Chakra around the target. Plate-like armor begins to form around the target, encasing them in a prison made of the Sanbi’s armor. The armor can be broken by an A-Ranked technique but completely restrains those inside after 1 post.

      Kappagakure no Jutsu [ Hidden Kappa Technique ]
      Rank: A
      Description: The user sheds any shell they have created or worn armor and appears nearby, leaving it behind as a substitute. The transfer is near-immediate and the shell left behind retains all of the techniques that the user cast on themselves before the transfer. In addition, the shell will continue to move for a full two posts after the user has shed it, acting and maneuvering with the user’s intelligence.

D e s c r i p t i o n:
___The demon's body is that of an enormous, four-tailed ape. It is covered in thick fur that is red on every part of the Yonbi’s body except for the chest, hands and feet, where it has no fur and shows its pale skin. The demon’s body is resistant to blunt damage and large amounts of heat. The Yonbi has the ability to shoot lava from its mouth through an extension of its throat, giving it both offensive and defensive versatility. It has four tails that are each significantly shorter than the main body, making them less mobile but stronger as weapons; two large, dull canine teeth jut from the Yonbi’s upper jaw and end below the lower lip, even when the jaw is fully opened; hands with functioning thumbs; a powerful body; and enormous, muscular arms and legs. This demon controls the lava and magma of the world and can very slightly influence the emotions of those around it. Past hosts were known to reflect the demon’s red coloring in their hair or choice of dress. Should the Yonbi exert its influence over the host’s personality, the host will tend to act arrogantly and question authority, much like the proud beast inside them. Hosts typically wear warm colors to symbolize their connection with the demon.
___Son has an understanding of Doton and Katon techniques, but refuses to use any of them. Due to his pride, he will always refuse to use any techniques that humans have laid claim to, regardless of his relationship with a host. He is not, however, averse to helping out his host, so long as the host holds him in high esteem and acts very respectfully, as he enjoys seeing his own power in action. He prides himself on his prowess with Taijutsu, and enjoys seeing people brawl. He is somewhat interested in how humans use Taijutsu, though he would never use it personally.

D e m o n S t a g e s:
  • Magma Affinity: Son Goku can opt to substitute molten earth for regular earth or fire in techniques that use either of those as a basis. The affected techniques lose any elemental weaknesses and apply a dose of dehydration for anyone who comes within a meter of them.
  • Strong Opening: During the first post of engagement with a foe, Son Goku can double the cost of any technique it uses to double its strength or range.
  • Power Hungry: If Son's host runs out of demonic Chakra while in an active stage, they must immediately either transition to another stage they have mastered or the dormant stage; otherwise, Son will force them into the next stage and go on a rampage.

Techniques affected by this have the weaknesses of both the original technique and Katon techniques.

        Manifestation: Chakra signature shifts to more closely match Son Goku’s.

        Manifestation: The host begins to resemble Son Goku. Any body hair thickens and gains a reddish hue. Muscle definition is enhanced.
      • Host can create small patches of fur on their body to defend against blunt weapons and fire. Costs 10 Chakra per patch. Provides E-Rank defense. This does not prevent secondary effects caused by these attacks, if any.

    Stage [2] - Partial-Miniaturization

      Cloak Mode:
        Chakra Increase: 75.
        Manifestation: A thin skin of demonic Chakra clings to the host's body. They feel as though they are running a fever when touched. One tail forms.
      Shape Mode:
        Energy Increase: 125.
        Manifestation: Thick red fur covers the host's arms, legs, and neck, and the host's canine teeth elongate significantly. Muscle definition increases further, hampering movement. A tail forms out of fur.
      • Fur thickens as it coats host’s limbs to protect from blunt physical attacks and most weak flames, providing D-Rank defense. This does not prevent secondary effects caused by these attacks, if any.
      • Strength moderately increased.
      • Speed moderately decreased. This vanishes if Stage [3] is mastered.

    Stage [3] - Half-Miniaturization
      Active Drain: 30.
      Cloak Mode:
        Chakra Increase: 120.
        Manifestation: Chakra piles onto the host's upper body, giving them a slightly topheavy look that resembles Son Goku. The second tail appears.
      Shape Mode:
        Energy Increase: 180.
        Manifestation: The fur that previously coated the limbs now completely obscures the skin, and has spread to cover all but the host’s neck, chest, hands and feet. Their muscles expand greatly, making it difficult to continue walking on two feet. A second tail sprouts alongside the first.
      • Fur provides C-Rank defense against blunt physical attacks and Katon Ninjutsu. This does not prevent secondary effects caused by these attacks, if any.
      • Strength greatly increased.

    Stage [4] - Miniature Demon
      Active Drain: 35.
      Cloak Mode:
        Chakra Increase: 140.
        Manifestation: The cloak brightens as the third tail forms, taking on a bright red-orange color. The cloak is remarkably static, moving hardly at all outside of mimicking the host's movements, giving it a very firm appearance.
      Shape Mode:
        Energy Increase: 210.
        Manifestation: Son Goku's thick skin forms under the fur on the host's body as well as on the face. Their limbs thicken to withstand the weight of their augmented body; the arms lengthen while the legs shrink; the canine teeth become blunt and grow too long to be contained in the host’s mouth; and the third tail forms.
      • Fur provides C-Rank defense against blunt physical attacks and Katon Ninjutsu. This does not prevent secondary effects caused by these attacks, if any.
      • Strength supremely increased.
      • Host is incapable of walking on two legs for long amounts of time.

    Stage [5] - Demon Power
      Active Drain: 20.
      Cloak Mode:
        Chakra Increase: 200.
        Manifestation: Son Goku's fur coats the host's body, but it appears with streaks of color matching the host's chakra. They otherwise retain their normal form.
      • Fur provides C-Rank defense against blunt physical attacks and fire- or heat-based techniques.
      • Physical strength greatly increased.
      • The host can move freely on two legs as well as four and can grip objects with their feet.
      Shape Mode:
        Energy Increase: N/A; the demon's pools are used directly. Drain still applies.
        Manifestation: The host's muscle and fur overwhelms their physical form, ballooning outward into a full manifestation of Son Goku.
      Mastery Effects:
      • King of the Mountain (Passive Attribute): With Son’s consent, the host can pay for a Katon or Doton technique entirely with demonic Chakra to give it the properties of Youton [ Lava Release ].

      Description: Thickens the skin on the host’s hands to increase grip strength and fortitude again blunt strikes moderately. Lasts for six posts. If used alongside Ashi no Hada [ Skin of the Feet ], any knockback effects of attacks caught or blocked with the hands are negated.

      Ashi no Hada [ Skin of the Feet ]
      Rank: D
      Description: Hardens the skin of the feet and thickens it. Used mostly to protect the feet against makibishi, but has also been used to protect the feet when proper footwear is absent. Lasts for six posts. If used alongside Tekken no Jutsu [ Iron Fist Technique ], any knockback effects of attacks caught or blocked with the feet are negated.

    Level 1
      Panchi no Jutsu [ Punch Technique ]
      Rank: D
      Description: A punch with extra power behind it. The punch, if it hits, damages only the area that it comes in to contact with; however, due to this it does a much greater level of damage to that area. Damage from the punch can go as far in as four inches if it does not hit bone; hitting bone fractures or breaks that bone. Counts as complex when interacting with defenses.

      Houkou [ Roar ]
      Rank: C
      Description: The user lets out a loud, bestial roar. This roar is loud enough to be heard across large expanses and can shake poorly-made buildings and terrify most animals. The technique grows slightly in effectiveness if the user is in a stage higher than stage 1 while using it, forcing animals and people to flee for at least 1 action. Can only be used once every 3 posts.

      Katame no Jutsu [ Hardening Technique ]
      Rank: B
      Description: Hardens all of the fur and/or hair on the user’s body until it can protect against steel weapons. The fur extends as it hardens, becoming sharp enough to create bleeding wounds should it be struck by something fleshy. If any of the fur is broken off, it immediately ignites and burns away in seconds. Lasts for four posts.

    Level 2
      Youton: Kenka no Waza [ Lava Release: Art of the Brawl ]
      Rank: C
      Description: The user extends the demon’s Chakra into nearby rock and causes it to melt while they fight. After one post of melting, small orbs of lava will shoot out from the molten rock and will fly alongside the user’s punches and kicks for two posts, causing them to be treated as spiritual with a Youton [ Lava Release ] elemental affinity. The orbs are roughly the size of the user’s thumb.

      Yougan Mizubitashi [ Lava Submersion ]
      Rank: B
      Description: The user will melt nearby ground, creating a one meter wide hole filled with lava. This is usually made under an opponent and is used as a trap, as the lava can easily consume an entire person.

    Level 3
      Yougan no Supaato [ Lava Spurt ]
      Rank: C
      Description: After forming a hand seal, the user sends demonic Chakra in to the ground. Soon, a pocket of lava bursts upward at a point within 10 meters of the user. Unfortunately, the ground at the point of eruption heats up for 1 action before bursting, serving as a potential tip-off to an enemy.

      Hatsunetsu [ Heat Generation ]
      Rank: B
      Description: The user claps their hands and forces demonic Chakra into the fur covering their body. The tips of their fur and/or hair then begin to heat, rising in temperature until they are capable of melting rocks with a touch. Attacks employing a fur-covered limb (including hairy hands) are treated as spiritual against solid targets and can melt through most nonmetal defenses. Lasts for five posts.

      Yougan no Hada [ Lava Skin ]
      Rank: A
      Description: The user melts rock and wears it like a second skin. The lava will remain hot for five posts, and can attach to others if they come into contact with it. If the lava makes contact with rock, the rock will melt into the mantle and increase its size. At any time, the user can cause the lava to explode off of their body in all directions, coating everything within 10 meters in lava. Lava slides off and begins to cool after five posts.

    Level 4
      Hagane Shoukyo [ Melting Away Steel ]
      Rank: A
      Description: After coming into direct contact with steel, the user sends demonic Chakra into it. It will immediately begin to heat, and after a post it will melt even if it is no longer in contact with the user. This can only affect areas smaller than a person.

      Hitoare no Jutsu [ Burst of Anger Technique ]
      Rank: S
      Description: The user will raise both fists above their head and then strike the ground. The strength behind the technique cracks the ground, but the large amount of Chakra behind the technique serves another purpose: after two posts, the area affected will melt away and become a lake of lava. This technique affects a spherical area 10 meters in diameter.

    Level 5
      Yougan no Enchuu [ Lava Column ]
      Rank: A
      Description: After stepping on a rocky patch of land, the user sends a surge of its demonic Chakra downward. After they have moved off, the rock erupts and bursts skyward. However, instead of remaining liquid, the lava cools to form hot boulders as it rises, creating a hail storm of hot rocks for those below.

      Kakazan [ Flower-Fruit Mountain ]
      Rank: S
      Description: Liquefies a large section of earth and sends it exploding upward. This technique is large enough to consume an entire Bijuu and is activated when the user strikes the ground. Affects an area 20 meters in radius at a point the user specifies within 40 meters. Summoned creatures caught in the blast are damaged severely and the summoning is dispelled.

      Maguma no Jutsu [ Magma Technique ]
      Rank: S
      Description: Melts a large area of rock under the surface, leaving just enough ground between the magma and the surface that it will support the user’s weight. The area turned into magma is typically 20 meters in diameter and 8 meters deep and can be broken easily by combat being conducted atop it.

      Kaibutsu no Doki [ Wrath of the Beast ]
      Rank: S
      Description: The Yonbi’s version of the Bijuu Ball. The beast gathers a large amount of Chakra in its mouth and fires a ball of condensed Chakra. However, unlike other versions of the Bijuu Ball, this is not typically aimed at a specific target; rather, it is fired at the landscape in general, as it liquefies all rock in its path.

    Level 6
      Jirai no Jutsu [ Mine Technique ]
      Rank: A
      Description: After making physical contact with someone or something, the user marks it with a wad of their Chakra. This wad can be made to burst at any time within the next 5 posts, liquefying all rock and steel within 15 meters of the detonation point. Does not cause any direct damage to living creatures.

D e s c r i p t i o n:
___The demon's body is that of an enormous, five-tailed whale-horse covered in thick white fur that waterproofs the body and keeps the demon warm; due to this, the demon is resistant to water and water-based attacks, as well as cold temperatures. In addition to its defensive fur, the Gobi has the ability to use steam to harm its enemies, and uses the steam to double as a secondary defense while attacking. Its five tails are each as long as the main body and are used for balance and, occasionally, as blunt weapons. It has a large, scoop-like mouth that it uses to swallow its prey; muscular, hooved legs; and five large, fin-shaped horns on its head that help it swim when it needs to do so. This demon controls the steam and weather of the world, and is almost constantly surrounded by a storm when not sealed. Past hosts were not known to retain the demon’s physical appearance; however, should the demon exert its influence over the host’s personality, the host will tend to be reclusive and very humble, much like the demon itself. Hosts typically wear concealing clothing to symbolize their connection with the demon and its reclusive attitude, but also to protect themselves from some of its techniques.
___Kokuou has a thorough understanding of Suiton and Raiton techniques, but cannot use them; however, she will often let a host know what a Suiton or Raiton technique’s effects are, should the user catch the hand signs. Conversely, she can identify ongoing techniques if the host can see their effects or is given adequate description. She is only helpful in this manner if she and the person she’s communicating with are on good terms.

D e m o n T r a i t s:
  • Steam: Kokuou can choose to replace any water or vapor in a technique with steam. The technique has the same effects, though it lacks any element-specific traits. This steam has the properties of regular steam and will cook all caught in it without exception, inflicting moderate burns to those exposed for a full post.

        Manifestation: The host's bones and musculature shift to better mimic Kokuou's frame, making it exceptionally difficult to move on two legs but also granting increased physical abilities. Their hands and feet become encased in a hard, bone-like substance and blunt horns jut out from their head. The fourth tail forms.

      • Fur C-Rank insulation against cold- and water-based techniques. Any secondary effects of such techniques (such as frostbite, burns, etc.) are lessened by one rank.

        Manifestation: Kokuou's Chakra turns pale and settles on the host's body like a second skin, giving the host a look like the color has been drained from them. Two small horns protrude from their head and a bonelike layer of Chakra covers their hands and feet.

      • The host can move freely on two legs or on all fours.
      • Fur becomes denser, protecting against water-based techniques up to A-Rank and cold-based techniques up to B-Rank, in addition to lessening the severity of any secondary effects by one rank.

        Manifestation: The host's body balloons outward into the gargantuan form of Kokuou.

      Description: Allows the user to jump in a straight line for up to 20 meters without significantly falling. This technique affects all jumps performed within one post. If used alongside Kouro no Jutsu [ Route Technique ], this range increases to 100 meters, turns can be made in the air without disrupting that technique, and that technique’s duration is extended by 1 post.

      Koukotsu no Jutsu [ Hard Bone Technique ]

      Description: By sending Chakra to a specific bone, the user greatly increases the strength and durability of that bone, making it very difficult to break. Ignores bone-breaking effects up to A-Rank. Lasts for two posts.

      Gobi no Tameiki [ The Sigh of the Five-Tails ]

      Description: After inhaling deeply, the user lets out a sigh. As the sigh travels, a thick mist rises up to move in the same direction, enveloping all those in its path in a mist so thick that it cannot be seen through without Doujutsu. This mist clings to those it touches even if they move out of the main body, continuing to obscure their vision. Lasts for four posts.

      Suijouki Sekiryoku [ Steam Repulsion ]

      Description: Protects the host from and repels steam and other fog- or cloud-type attacks for 8 posts. This is used to prevent attacks from latching onto the user that otherwise would, though it has other applications as well.

      Suijoukidama [ Steam Ball ]

      Description: The user exhales a ball of steam that floats at about head-height. As soon as the ball comes into contact with anything physical, it pops and surrounds that object, clinging to it for three posts. The steam obscures all vision from within, making it impossible to see through without a Doujutsu.

      Ame no Jutsu [ Rain Technique ]

      Description: Creates a small storm cloud over the head of an enemy. A torrential downpour occurs after the cloud forms, the rain coming down quickly enough to drench the target in seconds and potentially blind them by forcing water in to their eyes. The rain continues for 3 posts and follows the target once it has begun.

      Asamoya [ Morning Mist ]
      Rank: C
      Description: Creates a light mist that coats the area at an even height, affecting an entire thread. This technique is used to disguise traps and to rob the enemy of the ability to judge the terrain by sight. Has no set duration, as it lasts until dispersed naturally or by significantly widespread Jutsu usage.

      Kiri no Te no Jutsu [ Mist Hand Technique ]
      Rank: B
      Description: The user channels demonic Chakra into pre-existing fog, mist, steam, or some other type of vapor cloud, and causes it to reach toward enemies. If it makes contact, it latches on and spreads to form a prison around the target. This prison cannot be broken by physical techniques but can be easily destroyed by Ninjutsu D-Rank or above. Lasts for four posts.

      Kanchigumo no Jutsu [ Sensory Cloud Technique ]
      Rank: B
      Description: Creates a cloud 5 meters across centered on the user. If any Chakra source enters the cloud, the user will be immediately notified of its relative strength and position. The technique is automatically dispersed if the host uses another technique, but it can be turned into boiling steam at a moment’s notice at no extra cost. Lasts for five posts.

      Suijouki Bakuhatsu no Jutsu [ Steam Explosion Technique ]
      Rank: A
      Description: A technique which forces all steam, fog, and mist in the area that was created by the host to rapidly expand. This rapid expansion pushes away all other clouds, including poison and smoke, and thickens the cloud so that those caught in it will begin choking. The mist, steam, and/or fog will fill up the area after one post, then revert to water after four more posts.

    Level 4
      Sougai no Jutsu [ Frost Damage Technique ]
      Rank: B
      Description: The host sends demonic Chakra directly in to the air, then chills the liquids in the air to create frost. The rapid cooling can destroy crops, cause frostbite, and render some animals and insects immobile or dead. This technique can also do the opposite: it can rapidly warm frost and snow to create fog.

      Tenki Henka [ Weather Transformation ]
      Rank: B
      Description: Uses any fog or steam in an area to alter the weather in one of a few ways: it can cause cloud formation, with larger amounts of fog leading to larger storm clouds; flash freeze the fog to create a field of incredibly chilled air, often causing severe frostbite for everyone within the cloud; or condense the water to create flood conditions.

      Fuuun no Jutsu [ Winds and Clouds Technique ]

      Description: The user sends out a large amount of demonic Chakra directly in to the atmosphere, summoning up a large storm cloud. The storm cloud brings with it heavy hail and strong winds that last for five posts and dissipate naturally thereafter.

      Tsunoori [ Horn Breaking ]

      Description: The user drives their horns directly into the opponent using a powerful charge. The force of this attack is so great that it can send other entities flying up to 10 meters away.

      Unkai no Jutsu [ Sea of Clouds Technique ]
      Rank: A
      Description: Coats an area the size of a Village in thick fog, obscuring the vision of all creatures in the area that do not possess a Doujutsu. The fog lasts for six posts and disperses naturally thereafter.

      Hareta Sora [ Sunny Skies ]
      Rank: A
      Description: Disperses all clouds in the area and causes the sun to beam down on the landscape brightly. The sunlight is more intense than usual, though, and can burn if something or someone stays in it for too long. Lasts for five posts. Burning begins at two posts of exposure, stacking with posts from other instances of this technique.

      Taifuu no Jutsu [ Typhoon Technique ]
      Rank: S
      Description: The Gobi’s version of the Bijuu Ball. After focusing Chakra in to its mouth, the Gobi will release the Chakra in a directional blast with great enough power to decimate forests. The blast leaves a haze in its wake that may be used in conjunction with other techniques.

    Level 6
      Shippuu no Jutsu [ Hurricane Technique ]
      Rank: A
      Description: Creates a localized hurricane over the user. To activate this technique, the user must raise one hand toward the sky and fire a bright ball of Chakra upward. The Chakra ball will burst when it reaches the appropriate height, and will then gather clouds in to a spinning mass until the hurricane finishes forming. Using this technique more than once on the same cloud mass increases the strength and intensity of the hurricane. Lasts for eight posts.

      Inochi no Ame [ Rain of Life ]
      Rank: S
      Description: A technique that summons a Chakra-infused rain that restores energy to all plants and animals that are touched by the rain. Restores 20 Chakra per post to all Shinobi in a thread. Lasts for a maximum of five posts and drains the user of the same amount restored to others, in addition to the cost of this technique.

D e s c r i p t i o n:
___The demon's body is that of an enormous, six-tailed slug covered in a clear slime, which can be manipulated to become acidic, basic, sticky, or slick. It is said that the beast consumes the life force of creatures slain by its corrosive slime. Its six tails are each slightly shorter than the main body. It has two small arms; large, heavy legs; and a toothless mouth. This demon is very kind compared to other demons and does not like to see needless sacrifice; as such, it is considered one of the more agreeable demons, as it does not often try to break free and will even help the host, though neither of these apply if the host is cruel or needlessly violent. Past hosts were not known to retain the demon’s physical appearance. Should the demon exert its influence over the host’s personality, the host will typically become very calm and helpful. Hosts typically wear light blue clothing to symbolize their connection with the demon.

D e m o n T r a i t s:
  • Maruton Affinity: Saiken is not very familiar with any kind of technique, but can use any Maruton techniques his host knows. These techniques are not scaled up to its size while fully manifested.
  • Martial Disinterest: Because its body is so ill-suited to direct combat, attempts to teach Saiken Taijutsu or Bukijutsu result in it either ceasing communication with its would-be teacher or going on a rampage out of frustration.
  • Saiken’s Slime: A thick, mostly clear slime that can be slick, sticky, corrosive, or Chakra-draining. Its properties persist for two of the user’s posts unless otherwise specified. Slime not part of any ongoing technique can have its properties nullified by techniques C-Rank or higher, unless otherwise specified. Walking on sticky or slick slime requires Water Walking or Tree Walking to be used at the rank of the technique used to create it. Corrosive slime damages anything it comes into contact with at two ranks below the technique used to create it. Chakra-draining slime will drain half the amount of Chakra used to create it from any incoming techniques and returns it to Saiken as demonic Chakra, though it only drains up to the affected Jutsu’s maximum. Slime that rolls off of Saiken naturally is considered D-Rank unless augmented and floats in water unless thickened. A host is immune to the effects of the slime while in an active release state. Slime manifested naturally through a Shape Mode cannot be Chakra-draining, but can be any of the other types unless one is already specified.

        Manifestation: A thin skin of demonic Chakra covers the host's body. It hangs off of them in strings. The first two tails form.
      Shape Mode:
        Energy Increase: 60.
        Manifestation: Slime coats the host's torso as their skin takes on a pale white hue. Further bloating begins to inhibit movement. The first two tails form out of slime.
      • Slime thickens and gains noticeable corrosive properties. Two posts of direct exposure to the slime will cause objects to noticeably damage and will create chemical burns on living creatures.
      • Speed mildly decreased.

    Stage [3] - Half-Miniaturization
      Active Drain: 15.
      Cloak Mode:
        Chakra Increase: 120.
        Manifestation: The cloak inflates like a balloon around the host's chest and legs. The third and fourth tails form.
      Shape Mode:
        Energy Increase: 120.
        Manifestation: Clear, runny slime coats the host's body. Their skin softens and lightens further and the bloating of the previous stages continues, further hampering movement. Three to four fleshy tails are present.
      • Slime buffers against incoming attacks, reducing their strength supremely. Non-physical attacks have their damage and any secondary effects reduced by one rank.
      • Speed greatly decreased.

    Stage [4] - Miniature Demon
      Active Drain: 20.
      Cloak Mode:
        Chakra Increase: 200.
        Manifestation: A swell of Chakra pushes the cloak outward, forming a round silhouette around the host. Five tails are present.
      Shape Mode:
        Energy Increase: 200.
        Manifestation: A layer of thick, spongy skin coats the host, giving them the rough proportions of a snowman. Movement is slow and labored under the weight of all the extra flesh. The fifth tail folds out from the rest of the body.
      • Strength supremely increased.
      • Host becomes incapable of moving quickly, losing any descriptive increases to speed regardless of source and suffering a supreme decrease to speed.
      • Slime buffers against incoming attacks, reducing their strength supremely. Non-physical attacks have their damage and any secondary effects reduced by one rank.

    Stage [5] - Demon Power
      Active Drain: 25.
      Cloak Mode:
        Chakra Increase: 250.
        Manifestation: The host's Chakra cloak transitions to slime, which immediately hardens to form a sort of rubbery armor over them. Swirling patterns the color of the host's Chakra coat the surface, breaking up the otherwise monotone white. Chakra drips from the gaps in this armor like Saiken's own slime.
      • Speed mildly decreased. Fortitude supremely increased.
      • Slime buffers against incoming attacks, reducing their strength supremely. Non-physical attacks have their damage and any secondary effects reduced by one rank.
      Shape Mode:
        Energy Increase: N/A; the demon's pools are used directly. Drain still applies.
        Manifestation: In a burst of slime, the host balloons outward into Saiken's full form.
      Mastery Effects:
      • Slug or Leech? (Passive Attribute): The host can exert Chakra as if using a technique to change the composition of the slime on the body to have one of the following attributes: sticky, slick, corrosive, and Chakra-draining.

      Kamitsubute no Jutsu [ Spit Ball Technique ]
      Rank: D
      Description: The user spits a sticky ball of liquid at a target. The stickiness can make it difficult to move or perform hand seals, and can render projectiles nearly useless. Hitting someone’s hands reduces their available actions by one unless they do not use their hands that post. Slime dissipates after 1 post.

      Okoshi no Jutsu [ Awakening Technique ]

      Description: After placing a hand on the target’s forehead, the user sends a short burst of Chakra into the target’s body in order to awaken them. This is especially effective against Tanukineiri no Jutsu.

      Shabondama no Jutsu [ Soap Bubble Technique ]

      Description: The user forms an “O” shape with their mouth and blows a bubble. This bubble floats, can be directed to locations by the user, and can clearly reflect its surroundings. When it is destroyed, it bursts with a loud pop.

      Hedoro Hoji no Jutsu [ Slime Preservation Technique ]

      Description: Prevents the user’s slime patches from hardening when faced with adverse conditions, such as heat, dryness, etc. Lasts for three posts. Maintains slime consistency against techniques up to its rank.

      Yogoshijutsu [ Staining Technique ]
      Rank: C
      Description: After the target comes into contact with some of the user’s slime, the user can activate this technique. The slime loses all of its other special properties, but stains the Chakra signature of the target. This stain can be felt and followed by the host and noticed by sensors. Lasts 5 posts.

    Level 2
      Suberiyasui Hedoro no Jutsu [ Slippery Slime Technique ]
      Rank: B
      Description: The user inhales, and then spits out a large volume of slime. This slime spreads out very quickly, coating as much as possible and flowing up vertical surfaces in order to widen its coverage. The slime is incredibly slippery, making it difficult to stand on even while using Chakra. Objects coated in this slime become almost impossible to hold. Can coat an area up to 20 meters in radius in slime.

      Yokoyari no Jutsu [ Interruption Technique ]
      Rank: A
      Description: As long as the target’s hands have slime on them, this technique will work. The slime will coat the hands completely, making it incredibly difficult to form hand seals and mold Chakra for techniques, and will become very sticky. Activating techniques thus becomes very difficult, as does removing the slime. Lasts for up to 6 posts or until dispersed by a technique A-Rank or higher. Once stuck to something, it takes a B-Rank amount of Stamina to pull free.

    Level 3
      Hiruma [ Leech Gap ]
      Rank: X [Trained as C]
      Description: The user covers themselves in a highly corrosive layer of slime which burns through restraints enough for them to slip free. Will burn through restraints this technique’s rank or lower. Only affects things the user is touching, though the slime can flow like normal. If used with a Chakra cloak active, that cloak turns dark blue.

      Ichimyaku no Jutsu [ Connecting Thread Technique ]
      Rank: C
      Description: The user extends a thin stream of slime toward the enemy, onto whom it then latches. The thread is very sticky, making it difficult to cut, and drains 20 Chakra per post from the target. Requires an upkeep of 10 Chakra per post, meaning the user only gets 10 of the drained Chakra.

      Kahen na Nami [ Variable Wave ]
      Rank: B
      Description: The user sends out a large wave of slime that splashes across the area. After the initial activation, the user can change the slime to either make it sticky or slick, but in the extreme: the stickiness can bind crowds of people in place, and the slick slime makes it nearly impossible find and keep a grip on anything. If the slime is unchanged, it is severely corrosive. Slime disappears when fed a B-Ranked amount of Chakra.

      Katai Hedoro [ Hard Slime ]
      Rank: A
      Description: After forming a hand seal, the user sends out a wave of demonic Chakra to all of the slime in the area. The slime immediately hardens and loses all of its other properties, but cannot be broken by a force weaker than A-Rank.

    Level 4
      Hoshijutsu [ Draining Technique ]
      Rank: B
      Description: Contrary to common thought, this technique does not drain Chakra. By sending out a wave of Chakra that reaches everywhere within 10 meters of the user, the user is able to lull any target covered in their slime into a lethargic state and eventually induce sleep. Lethargy occurs one post after activation, sleep occurs three posts after activation. Lasts for five posts.

      Hedoro Bakuhatsu [ Slime Explosion ]
      Rank: B
      Description: By welling up Chakra inside the body, the user is able to cause slime to shoot off of their body at great speeds, coating everything within 20 meters. The slime retains its properties for four posts after leaving the body.

      Hedoro Kaiten [ Slime Rotation ]
      Rank: B
      Description: Allows the user to change the properties of slime after it has been launched, provided the slime has not become inert. The slime can be made highly corrosive, slippery, sticky, runny, or can harden to trap those within it. Adds three posts to the time any affected slime remains active. Affects all slime within line of sight.

      Sansan [ Acid Scattering ]
      Rank: A
      Description: The user releases a dense gas composed of a highly corrosive alkaline substance from their mouth. The gas is strong enough to instantly disintegrate wood.

      Kumokasumi no Hedoro [ Disappearing Slime ]
      Rank: A
      Description: Changes the composition of the slime on the user’s body to be able to dissolve and disappear in water. The water then acts like slime, becoming sluggish and becoming either sticky, slick, corrosive, or Chakra-draining. All slime created within three posts is affected. Chakra-draining slime will devour a B-Ranked amount of Chakra from any incoming techniques and uses any drained Chakra to extend its duration by 1 post. Does not stop techniques unless they are propelled entirely by Chakra.

      Fushokudan [ Corrosion Bomb ]
      Rank: S
      Description: Immediately hardens all active slime not on the user. One full post later, all hardened slime sublimates into a large cloud of incredibly corrosive gas. Affects all slime in a thread.

      Shuushutsu no Jutsu [ Constriction Technique ]
      Rank: S
      Description: Causes all slime in the area to harden and constrict with enough force to break rock. This technique is used usually to kill large numbers of enemies or to destroy architecture; either way, it is devastating. Affects an entire thread. Cost is halved if the slime is already hardened, whether by Jutsu or otherwise. Affected slime does not have to be active.

      Namekuji no Kyouran [ Slug’s Frenzy ]
      Rank: S
      Description: The Rokubi’s version of the Bijuu Ball. The Rokubi gathers a large amount of Chakra in its mouth, and then expels it in a devastating, wide-range blast. The blast lacks the power that most Bijuu Ball variants have, but it makes up for this by draining 100 Chakra from every living creature that it hits, to a minimum of 1 Chakra remaining, in addition to its normal damage.

    Level 6
      Hedoro Saisei no Jutsu [ Slime Resuscitation Technique ]
      Rank: S
      Description: The user sends a wave of demonic Chakra through the environment. The Chakra is devoured by all of the slime already in the area, granting it the qualities that the slime on the user’s body has for four posts. Slime in the environment absorbs Chakra separately from the user if the user’s coat of slime is Chakra-absorbing, instead extending its duration by 1 post per absorption.

      Namekuji no Namida [ Slug’s Tears ]
      Rank: S
      Description: The user activates this technique by kissing the target on the forehead. Doing so sends 100 Chakra to the target and nullifies most diseases and viruses in that person’s body.

D e s c r i p t i o n:
___In the anime series this demon has been shown through the character Fuu. The demon's body is that of a large beetle with six wings and one cercus serving as its seven tails. It is covered in a hard exoskeleton that serves as armor for the Bijuu. In addition to its wings and cercus, the Nanabi has six arms adorned with razor-sharp claws that the creature uses to latch on to prey and to climb, as well as a large forked horn on the head that serves as a bashing weapon. This demon controls the winds of the world, and uses them to supplement its already formidable defensive and offensive capabilities. Despite its considerable power, past hosts were not known to retain any facets of the demon’s physical appearance; however, due to the Nanabi’s relative strength, hosts tend to take on its personality to a degree and are cheerful and inquisitive unless they can thoroughly suppress the demon. In addition, hosts typically wear clothing that is either very light in color or very dark to symbolize their connection with the demon, as it contains both very bright and very dark hues on its body.
___Choumei is a sucker when it comes to the number seven, and will almost always comment on, or be relatively excited about, any techniques involving that number. Hosts frequently report hearing his voice for the first time seven days after the sealing or on their seventh birthday, whichever is later.

D e m o n T r a i t s:
  • Compound Eyes: Choumei can see faint traces of Chakra manifestations. Chakra colors not in the normal visible range show up as green. This can be used to identify the caster of a Ninjutsu or Genjutsu, as techniques will have the same faint traces of the caster’s manifestation.

      Cloak Mode:
        Chakra Increase: 180.
        Manifestation: A large horn sprouts from the cloak around the host's forehead as the third and fourth tails form.
      Shape Mode:
        Energy Increase: 180.
        Manifestation: The scales completely engulf the host's torso, arms, and head, leaving only an opening for their face. The skin underneath softens, granting flexibility that would otherwise be ruined by the armor. The next pair of wings form.
      • Scales act as medium armor.
      • Strength and fortitude mildly increased.
      Mastery Effects:
      • Mental Hum (Passive Attribute): Sound-based Genjutsu up to the host’s body rank are half as effective against the host unless the sound in question is the only one able to be heard.
      • Expanded Vision (Passive Attribute): The host gains access to a limited version of Choumei's Compound Eyes trait, allowing them to see Chakra manifestations if they concentrate on a shinobi or technique. This is not counted as a Doujutsu. If the host has Sensor as a class, Chakra manifestations will be apparent through the passive Sensor attributes even without focusing on the source.

    Stage [4] - Miniature Demon
      Active Drain: 20.
      Cloak Mode:
        Chakra Increase: 180.
        Manifestation: Chakra builds up around the host's torso, bulking up significantly. The fifth and sixth tails form.
      Shape Mode:
        Energy Increase: 180.
        Manifestation: Choumei's exoskeleton forms around the host, acting almost like full-body armor. The third set of wings begins to grow, but the major additions are the beast's horn and tail.
      • Strength and fortitude moderately increased.
      • Host can now fly without using a technique, albeit clumsily.
      • Exoskeleton functions as very heavy armor.
      • Techniques employing the legs or feet cannot be used. This can be negated if the exoskeleton only functions as heavy armor to expose the host's legs.

    Stage [5] - Demon Power

      Cloak Mode:
        Chakra Increase: 200.
        Manifestation: Demonic Chakra compacts its way into the host's body, turning their skin dark blue. Six insectoid wings sprout from their back. Streaks the color of the host's Chakra appear on the undersides of their arms and the insides of their legs, as well as around their eyes.
      • Strength and fortitude heavily increased.
      Shape Mode:
        Energy Increase: N/A; the demon's pools are used directly. Drain still applies.
        Manifestation: In a burst of scales and shed exoskeletons, Choumei's full form appears.
      Mastery Effects:
      • Swarm (Passive Attribute): Projectile-based techniques, at the host’s discretion, can yield twice as many projectiles, each with half the regular power, for no additional cost. Jutsu that have stream-type effects or shoot outward in a line can be made to split into two independent streams or lines at double the technique’s cost without counting as a separate activation.

      Haoto no Jutsu [ Hum Technique ]

      Description: By humming a Chakra-infused tune, the user can forcibly become calm for a short while. Lasts as long as the user is humming, with an upkeep cost of this technique’s original cost per post. Effects that would manipulate the user’s emotions to make them no longer calm automatically fail.

      Hirumu no Jutsu [ Flinch Technique ]

      Description: The user lets out a yell just as they attack. This yell is Chakra-laced, making it louder and more penetrating than usual. This, accompanied by the user’s sudden movements, causes all nearby opponents up to the user’s rank to flinch, misaiming techniques up to C-Rank. Only effective once every 2 posts.

      Kaze Hirateuchi [ Wind Slap ]

      Description: The user forms a hand seal and then swings a limb. A large gust of wind follows the path of the limb with a range of 2 meters, starting at the user’s center. This wind is strong enough to topple objects that are not stable or secured.

      Haijanpu [ High Jump ]
      Rank: D
      Description: Using the air as a jet, the user doubles the jump height of every jump they make within two posts. Movement techniques used during this time can also move the user through the air.

      Kaze no Kumo [ Cloud of Wind ]

      Description: The user inhales, and then exhales. As soon as the user exhales, wind is pushed suddenly and quickly away from their body in all directions, providing a good defense against projectiles and pushing Shinobi backward several meters.

      Hisan Uroko [ Scattering Scales ]
      Rank: C
      Description: The user launches scales from their body, scattering them across the ground. Whenever a scale is stepped on, it explodes with an explosion weaker than an exploding note, but enough to severely damage the foot of the unfortunate person who triggered the trap. Scatters 20 scales, which remain active for ten posts.

      Boufuu no Jutsu [ Reverse Wind Technique ]
      Rank: C
      Description: Sends a gust of wind into an existing breeze, either nullifying it and making the air still or intensifying it. Lasts 4 posts.

      Karakaze no Jutsu [ Dry Wind Technique ]
      Rank: C
      Description: Sends a soft breeze across the ground in order to pick up dirt, dust, and debris, and then lifts it up and launches it at the eyes of one or more targets. The breeze can pick up small objects, such as boxes and bags. Lasts 3 posts, during which time the breeze will actively try to throw light things at the heads of anyone near the user.

      Fuurin no Jutsu [ Wind Chime Technique ]
      Rank: C
      Description: By altering the flow of wind slightly, the user can make sounds of wind chimes appear from nowhere. The alteration of the wind’s direction is so slight as to be impossible to notice without a Doujutsu that enables the sight of Chakra. Lasts 3 posts and can be used in conjunction with sound-based Genjutsu.

      Yuri no Jutsu [ Vibration Technique ]
      Rank: B
      Description: The user flaps their wings (or arms, if no wings are present) several times very quickly over a very small distance, causing a loud buzzing to permeate the air. By doing so, the user can disrupt Fuuton techniques C-Rank and lower while causing slight disorientation in anyone who hears the sound.

      Sageyoku no Jutsu [ Wing Flap Technique ]
      Rank: B
      Description: The user flaps their wings (or arms, if no wings are present) twice, whipping up a large gust of wind that blows away in all directions at shin-height. The gust is powerful enough to topple small buildings and kick up large clouds of dust at the same time, but is used mainly to knock down and repel enemies. Has a range of 15 meters and lasts for up to two posts of flapping.

    Level 4
      Gisou no Jutsu [ Camouflage Technique ]
      Rank: B
      Description: Alters the colors of the user’s body and Chakra to more closely match the colors of the surroundings, thus camouflaging them. This color can change up to three times before the technique wears off and the colors revert to what they were originally. Cannot be seen through via Doujutsu, unlike other techniques similar to it. Sensors using sensory techniques B-Rank or above can uncover the user.

      Daiyou no Jutsu [ Replacement Technique ]
      Rank: B
      Description: If the Nanabi’s exoskeleton or body is immobilized, the host can crack open the body to escape from the immobilization. Doing so puts the user in a stage of activation one lower than they started with, unless in the Nanabi’s complete form. This shell can then be broken down into scales for use with other techniques.

      Oroshijutsu [ Launching Technique ]
      Rank: A
      Description: Propels all objects and people in an area ten meters in radius roughly one hundred feet in the air by creating a strong updraft. This has the added effect of nullifying techniques under A-Rank that involve downward motion. The upward acceleration is sudden enough to prevent the completion of hand seals and cause severe whiplash. If used indoors, this technique will destroy up to eight stories of architecture above it. Technique persists for three posts, and can be pulsed for no additional cost to the user, though this function consumes an activation per post (regardless of how many pulses are caused in that post).

      Takuetsufuu no Jutsu [ Prevailing Wind Technique ]
      Rank: A
      Description: Strengthens an existing wind drastically, giving it the power to topple sturdy buildings and flatten large forests. Lasts 5 posts.

    Level 5
      Kogarashi no Jutsu [ Wintry Wind Technique ]
      Rank: A
      Description: Calls down a large volume of air from the upper atmosphere, dropping temperatures in the thread to temperatures far below zero. This cold snap can cause metal to break, windows to shatter, and water to freeze. After the sudden chill, the thread warms back up to its normal temperature naturally. Any Shinobi in the thread when this technique enacts will suffer severe frostbite.

      Katto [ Fly into a Rage ]
      Rank: S
      Description: After activating this technique, the host begins attacking completely without regard to their own safety, let alone the safety of others. While in this state, physical strength is increased supremely and stunning, paralyzing, or flinching effects fail against the user. Lasts 3 posts, and can only be used once per battle.

      Makaze [ Devil Wind ]
      Rank: S
      Description: The Nanabi’s version of the Bijuu Ball. After gathering chakra at the tip of the horn, the Nanabi releases the Chakra in one direction. The Chakra is green in color and can blow through a forest easily. The blast is accompanied by strong winds, and together the combination can annihilate a small city.

    Level 6
      Koutei no Jutsu [ Flight Technique ]
      Rank: A
      Description: Spawns a set of insect wings and a cercus for balance in flight. While these resemble the structures formed by the host in earlier stages of activation, they are not directly tied to the Chakra of the demon itself. The wings allow the user to fly as they please for 5 posts.

      Baisu Ude [ Multiple Arms ]
      Rank: A
      Description: Forms anywhere from four to six extra arms on the user’s body. These arms can be used as, and function like, regular arms, but they may also be spawned with sharp, blade-like extensions instead of hands. Lasts 5 posts.

D e s c r i p t i o n:
___In the anime series this demon has been shown through the character Killer Bee. The demon's body is that of an ox’s torso with the tentacles of an octopus, each tentacle serving as a tail. It is covered in gray-brown skin that offers little protection other than simply being durable. In addition to its eight tentacles, the Hachibi has two large, muscular arms and a head adorned with two sets of tough horns that the creature uses to do battle with other creatures. This demon is very tough and serious, and tends to use its head to augment its power more than the other demons seem to. However, despite its considerable power, past hosts were not known to retain any facets of the demon’s physical appearance, nor did they retain any of the mental attributes of the demon outside of its personality. Because of this, hosts are often very difficult to uncover, as they look and act like normal Shinobi.
___Gyuuki, being the most outwardly intelligent of the Bijuu, can remember the name and effects of any technique he sees twice. However, he tends to only help his host when it’s the most tactically advantageous for him, and will pry at his host’s most sensitive memories to try to gain control over the body. If he is on good terms with his host, however, he will put all of his attention toward addressing the situation at hand. He bears surprisingly little ill will for his hosts, aside from generally wanting to be free.

D e m o n T r a i t s:
  • Voice of Reason: While fully manifested, Gyuuki has extreme resistance toward the techniques of its fellow demons. Techniques originating from demons (including non-demonic techniques that have been learned from a host) are treated as a rank lower against Gyuuki.

      Cloak Mode:
        Chakra Increase: 50.
        Manifestation: Chakra signature shifts to more closely match Gyuuki's.

        Energy Increase: 50.
        Manifestation: The host's skin darkens, they bulk up, and two small, bony nubs protrude from their forehead.
      • Strength slightly increased.
      Mastery Effects:
      • Ink Production (Passive Attribute): The host can produce ink in their mouth at will. This can be mixed with any Suiton techniques that originate from the mouth at no extra cost. Hosts who can already produce ink have the volume of created ink doubled or the cost to do so reduced by one rank.
      • Implicit Understanding (Passive Attribute): Chakra granted from Cloak Modes can be converted to Stamina at a rate of 10 Chakra to 5 Stamina. After all other demon training is complete, this changes to 5 Chakra to 5 Stamina.

    Stage [2] - Partial-Miniaturization
      Active Drain: 10.
      Cloak Mode:
        Chakra Increase: 100.
        Manifestation: A thin skin of demonic Chakra covers the host's body. Two curved, pointed horns protrude from the cloak at the host's head. The first two tails form.
      Shape Mode:
        Energy Increase: 100.
        Manifestation: The host's skin turns a purplish-brown color that matches Gyuuki's and grow two short horns from their forehead. The first two tentacles grow out of their body.
      • Strength and reflex increased mildly.

    Stage [3] - Half-Miniaturization
      Active Drain: 15.
      Cloak Mode:
        Chakra Increase: 150.
        Manifestation: The cloak darkens somewhat. Near the hands, it takes on the shape of Gyuuki's arms. The third, fourth, and fifth tails form.
      Shape Mode:
        Energy Increase: 150.
        Manifestation: The host bulks up considerably, their hands and horns growing considerably as they do so. The first two tentacles split until there are up to five present.
      • Strength and reflex moderately increased.

    Stage [4] - Miniature Demon
      Active Drain: 20.
      Cloak Mode:
        Chakra Increase: 200.
        Manifestation: The horn-like additions to the cloak lengthen, curving around toward the front of the host's face. The tails already present begin swaying as the sixth and seventh ones appear among the rest.
      Shape Mode:
        Energy Increase: 200.
        Manifestation: The host's skin gains a smooth texture and their horns finish growing, now resembling Gyuuki's own on a much smaller scale. The host's legs morph into the sixth and seventh tentacles.
      • Strength and reflex greatly increased.
      • Techniques employing the feet cannot be used. Those employing the legs have their strength reduced moderately as tentacles are squishy.

    Stage [5] - Demon Power
      Active Drain: 25.
      Cloak Mode:
        Chakra Increase: 250.
        Manifestation: Demonic Chakra clings tightly to the host's skin, staining it an uneven mix of Gyuuki's skin color and the host's Chakra color.
      • Strength and reflex moderately increased.
      • Demon techniques are treated as a rank lower when used against the host.
      Shape Mode:
        Energy Increase: N/A; the demon's pools are used directly. Drain still applies.
        Manifestation: The host is enveloped in rapidly growing tentacles, which then part to reveal Gyuuki's full form.
      Mastery Effects:
      • Tail Mastery (Passive Attribute): Gyuuki can use any technique the host knows while fully manifested, though their effects are not scaled up.

      Kumori no Shimi [ Spot of Shadow ]
      Rank: D
      Description: Darkens a small area 1 meter across enough to make the spot look as if something is casting a shadow on it. Attacks that pass through this spot are more difficult to see, ignoring up to a mild increase to reflexes.

      Doumeihigyou no Jutsu [ Strike Technique ]
      Rank: D
      Description: The user gathers shadows around a fist, making a punch very hard to track. When punching with this technique active, the fist becomes nearly invisible to the naked eye, denying targets any descriptive bonuses to reflex. Affects all punches with one fist for two posts.

      Sumi no Kumo [ Cloud of Ink ]
      Rank: C
      Description: The user releases a large quantity of ink from their mouth, spraying it out in a fanned, jet-like fashion.

      Sumi no Kiri [ Ink Mist ]
      Rank: C
      Description: Creates an area of thick mist composed of ink. The mist hangs in the air for three posts and covers an area 10 meters in diameter.

    Level 2
      Tsuno no Jutsu [ Horn Technique ]
      Rank: C
      Description: Condenses Chakra into horn-shaped protrusions on the head. These horns are very durable and can be made into almost any shape as long as they still function as horns. If used in later stages, this forms an extra pair of horns in addition to those that have already formed. Lasts three posts.

      Hikari Shuriken [ Light Shuriken ]
      Rank: C
      Description: Creates 10-20 shadow shuriken by condensing Chakra. These shuriken are launched at the opponent like normal shuriken, but deny the target any descriptive bonuses to reflex and disappear one post after making contact.

    Level 3
      Hikari no Ashinami [ Light Step ]
      Rank: C
      Description: Creates a blinding burst of Chakra and propels the user very quickly in any direction they want to travel, up to 1 kilometer. Does not require a foothold to be used. Can only be used once every two posts.

      Yami no Nami [ Wave of Darkness ]
      Rank: B
      Description: The user creates a small ball of demonic Chakra and detonates it. The ball explodes, but does not cause any physical damage; instead, it coats the area in a thick cloud of inky darkness that remains for four posts. Cloud is 10 meters in diameter.

      Ushi no Houkou [ Roar of the Bull ]
      Rank: A
      Description: The user lets out a deafening Chakra-laced roar that drains all who hear it of the will to fight. This technique can even be used to calm other Bijuu and summons. If used on a raging Nanabi, the Nanabi calms down.

    Level 4
      Hikari no Karada no Jutsu [ Body of Light Technique ]
      Rank: A
      Description: The user gathers a large amount of Chakra around their own body, making an opaque orb of Chakra around the user. This orb lasts for three posts and expands greatly every post, starting with a diameter of 3 meters and growing one meter across each post. The orb pushes away all structures and physical Jutsu under A-Rank during this time.

      Hikari no Owari [ End of Light ]
      Rank: A
      Description: The user marks an opponent, usually by discharging Chakra into them by touch. After the mark has been made, the user forms a hand seal and spawns a cloud of ink. The cloud is attracted to the mark put on the target and will follow it quickly and trap the target. The cloud is thick enough that it cannot be seen through even with Doujutsu.

    Level 5
      Sumi Dangan [ Ink Bullet ]
      Rank: B
      Description: Launches a cascade of large, heavy bullets of ink from the user’s mouth. The ink is capable of punching through thick layers of rock and explodes on contact to scatter across the area.

      Raito Haku [ Light Hack ]
      Rank: A
      Description: A small version of the Hachibi’s Bijuu Ball. The Hachibi forms a small, concentrated ball of energy at the tip of the horns and then releases a directed explosive blast capable of severely damaging the area.

      Bijuu Hachimaki [ Tailed Beast Eight Twists ]
      Rank: S
      Description: Gyuuki coils his tails around himself before extending them with an enormous amount of physical strength. This causes him to spin rapidly, resulting in the generation of tremendous gusts of wind that buffet everything in the surrounding area. This technique is powerful enough to level the terrain within a large range of the Eight-Tails.

      Toubatsu [ Subjugation ]
      Rank: S
      Description: A technique that allows the Hachibi to catch and redirect Bijuu Ball attacks from other bijuu.

      Meian [ Light and Darkness ]
      Rank: S
      Description: The Hachibi’s version of the Bijuu Ball. The Hachibi concentrates a large amount of light and dark Chakra in to a ball and unleashes it in a directional blast. A fully charged Tailed Beast Ball from the Eight-Tails can fill an entire valley with the explosion as well as plough through a multiple layered barrier.

    Level 6
      Bubun Henge no Jutsu [ Partial Transformation Technique ]
      Rank: B
      Description: By activating this technique, the user changes one portion of their body to an equivalent part of the Hachibi’s body. This is often used to switch out an arm for the Hachibi’s or to turn the legs in to tentacles to facilitate quick swimming.

      Shinzen Doumyukuryu no Jutsu [ Friendship Aneurysm Technique ]
      Rank: S
      Description: The user activates this technique by allowing the demon to take control of the body during this stage of activation. The demon’s body forms, but the user also appears on the demon’s body, attached from the waist down. During this stage, the Hachibi can do battle without activating techniques above Level Two while the host can use techniques B-Ranked and under. Can only be used once per battle, as an aneurysm is not nice to keep having.

D e s c r i p t i o n:
___In the anime series this demon has been shown through the character Naruto. The demon's body is that of an enormous, nine-tailed fox covered in orange fur. In addition to its nine tails, the Kyuubi has sharp teeth and claws that it uses to damage and grip opponents. This demon is in tune with the emotions of creatures and uses that ability to control its hosts, locating and dragging out every negative emotion the host has ever felt. The only hosts to survive interacting with him for very long are ones who have great control over themselves. The demon’s considerable Chakra marks the host by giving him or her whisker-like shadows on the cheeks, but as long as it is properly sealed away, the Kyuubi will not alter the host’s personality.
___Kurama is frequently thought to have an infinite amount of Chakra, though in reality he only has an extremely large amount. This makes him perfect for sharing his Chakra with other people, as he can easily fuel a large army’s Chakra supplies singlehandedly. As a side-effect of this massive amount of Chakra, his hosts tend to have great difficulty controlling Chakra in active stages. Unless a demonic stage has already been mastered, techniques used during its activation cost twice as much as they usually do, due to the flooding of the host’s Chakra network. The Kyuubi is by far the most violently active demon in hosts who have not befriended him: he will pounce on any and every chance to break free from his host, even going so far as to try to escape whenever the host draws on his Chakra. For this reason, it is wise to use two seals to contain him, even if this serves only to further enrage him.

D e m o n T r a i t s:
  • Supreme Power: Kurama's Chakra is powerful enough to negate the beneficial effects of other entities' techniques, including bonuses originating from Natural Energy. When fighting against other demons, summoned creatures, and other, similar entities, its techniques are treated as though they were a rank higher.
  • Extremely Power Hungry: If Kurama's host runs out of demonic Chakra while in an active stage, they must immediately either transition to another stage they have mastered or the dormant stage; otherwise, Kurama will force them into the next stage and go on a rampage. Due to its strength, if Kurama is not sealed with at least two seals, it will take over any time a host enters an active stage.

      Basic Effects:
        Passive Chakra increase: +20 Chakra.

        Manifestation: A thin skin of demonic Chakra covers the host's body. Two long ears grow out of the cloak. The first and second tails bubble out from the cloak.
      Shape Mode:
        Energy Increase: 100.
        Manifestation: Whisker marks darken and the skin around the eyes and on the lips turns black. Bright orange Chakra coalesces at the host's rear to form one or two tails.
      • Strength, speed, and reflex slightly increased.

    Stage [3] - Half-Miniaturization
      Active Drain: 15.
      Cloak Mode:
        Chakra Increase: 150.
        Manifestation: The cloak thins, hugging the host's frame closely. The third, fourth, and fifth tails manifest.
      Shape Mode:
        Energy Increase: 150.
        Manifestation: The host's skin darkens to a nearly black red. Fur and muscle of the same color fill out the Chakra tails sprouted in the previous stage, then go on to create the third, fourth, and fifth tails. At this point, the host's body is a solid mass of dark red, with the only exception being a white glow that emanates from their eyes and mouth. Before mastery and when Kurama is in control, the dark red color is caused by the host's blood mixing with the demonic Chakra as it erodes them.
      • Strength, speed, and reflex increased mildly.
      • Demonic skin can provide B-Rank protection against all forms of damage, but using it this way harms the host a C-Rank amount, increasing by one rank every post it is used in the fight. Taking more than one's Body Rank in damage this way causes Kurama to take over.

    Stage [4] - Miniature Demon
      Active Drain: 20.
      Cloak Mode:
        Chakra Increase: 200.
        Manifestation: Any bubbling or swaying of the cloak ceases as it stabilizes. The sixth, seventh, and eighth tails appear.
      Shape Mode:
        Energy Increase: 200.
        Manifestation: Around the host's dark red form, Kurama's skeleton and musculature begin to manifest, as do the sixth, seventh, and eighth tails. The extent of this change depends heavily on how many tails the host has, with six being limited to the skeleton and eight being a smaller version of Kurama without the fur.
      • Strength, speed, and reflex increased moderately.
      • Demonic skin can provide B-Rank protection against all forms of damage, but using it this way harms the host a C-Rank amount, increasing by one rank every post it is used in the fight. Taking more than one's Body Rank in damage this way causes Kurama to take over.

    Stage [5] - Demon Power
      Active Drain: 25.
      Cloak Mode:
        Chakra Increase: 250.
        Manifestation: The host glows a color halfway between Kurama's orange and the host's Chakra color. Chakra rises from their body like fire.
      • Strength, speed, and reflex increased moderately.
      Shape Mode:
        Energy Increase: N/A; the demon's pools are used directly. Drain still applies.
        Manifestation: Kurama's body and musculature completely overwhelm the host's presence, resulting in its full manifestation.

    Level 0
      Enseikan no Jutsu [ Pessimism Technique ]
      Rank: D
      Description: Forcibly alters the user’s mood until Kai [ Release ] is used to undo the effect. Using this technique to become more pessimistic makes it easier to shift in to higher stages of activation prior to mastery of Stage 5 and cannot be overridden with other emotion-affecting techniques. Does not count as a Genjutsu.

      Ichigeki no Jutsu [ Poke Technique ]
      Rank: D
      Description: A Chakra-enforced finger strike that is powerful enough to topple a foe with ease and can cause disorientation. However, it cracks the user’s finger bones if they don’t have even a slight increase to fortitude.

    Level 1
      Hayai Yakushin [ Quick Rush ]
      Rank: D
      Description: By sending Chakra through their legs, the user gains the ability to rush at very high speeds, even on walls. The force of the run is enough to crack the surface underneath the user. Lasts two posts.

      Chakura Funpatsu [ Strenuous Chakra Exertion ]
      Rank: C
      Description: The user sends Chakra in all directions outward from their body, creating tremendous pressure that pushes away both physical objects and Chakra forms under B-Rank. Consumes all the activations for a post and activates immediately. Those caught in the blast are denied all descriptive increases and are affected regardless of armor.

    Level 2
      Akuma no Tsume [ Demon’s Claw ]
      Rank: C
      Description: Temporarily solidifies the demonic Chakra on the user’s hands, granting a set of sharp claws for four posts.

      Akuma Dageki [ Demon Strike ]
      Rank: B
      Description: The user molds demonic Chakra into a body part, increasing the destructive force of that body part tremendously. This only lasts for one strike, but can decimate defenses up to A-Rank.

    Level 3
      Akuma no Doku [ Demon’s Poison ]
      Rank: B
      Description: Turns a portion of the demon’s Chakra in to a black mist that spreads through the area. This mist eats away at the health of those who inhale it and has the ability to deteriorate organic material. Mist covers an area 10 meters in diameter and lasts 4 posts.

      Chakura no Furyouka [ Downfall of Chakra ]
      Rank: B
      Description: Turns a portion of the demon’s Chakra into a red mist that spreads through the area. The mist poisons the Chakra supply of those who come in to contact with it, causing a fever and renders those affected unable to activate Ninjutsu or Genjutsu, even if they expel the Chakra to do so. All effects disappear upon exiting the mist. Lasts 4 posts.

    Level 4
      Juuzen no Jutsu [ Absolute Safety Technique ]
      Rank: A
      Description: Reinforces the user’s body with demonic Chakra, granting them the ability to escape from movement-sealing techniques up to S-Rank. Lasts 4 posts.

      Chiisai Kaimetsu [ Small Annihilation ]
      Rank: S
      Description: A small version of the Kyuubi’s Bijuu Ball. This version of the Bijuu Ball is typically regarded as being roughly the same in strength as the other Bijuu’s regular Bijuu Ball techniques. The explosion is powerful enough to blow through the heavy defensive structure known as the Rashoumon gate and can blow away small villages.

    Level 5
      Nikushimi [ Hatred ]
      Rank: A
      Description: The demon sends out a wave of Chakra, planting a specific feeling determined by the Kyuubi—typically hatred—in all those affected by the Chakra. The technique is powerful enough that it can foster permanent feelings if not quickly dispersed with Kai. After mastery of Stage 5, the host will have some input as to which feelings are planted.

      Kitsune Okibi [ Blazing Fox Fire ]
      Rank: A
      Description: The demon stomps the ground, sending out a short wave of Chakra as it does so. The Chakra only travels about 10 meters, but those hit by it are coated in it. The Chakra moves and dances like fire—thus the name—and degrades the mental status of those affected, causing all techniques to misfire in a random direction. Hallucinations are common. The Chakra can be removed with a Kai or with a heavy dousing of water. Mental stability returns after five posts of out-of-battle recovery.

      Ryuuseiu [ Meteor Shower ]
      Rank: S
      Description: The user condenses demonic Chakra into physical shapes in their stomach, then launches them out of their mouth at high speeds. The Chakra burns up as it flies and impacts with the power of a meteor, hence the name of the technique. Launches 4-6 objects.

      Zettai Kaimetsu [ Absolute Annihilation ]
      Rank: S+
      Description: The Kyuubi’s version of the Bijuu Ball. The Kyuubi’s Bijuu Ball creates a blast that is capable of annihilating a small mountain range, though it requires three of the demon’s posts to Charge, during which time the demon is immobilized and cannot use other techniques without cancelling this one first.

    Level 6
      Kanjou Kenshutsu [ Emotion Sensor ]
      Rank: S
      Description: After activation, the user can sense positive and negative emotions within a 5 kilometer radius. However, the user can only clearly sense emotions that are within 20 meters. Stays passive for twenty posts.

      Chakura Ougonjutsu [ Chakra Alchemy ]
      Rank: S
      Description: Turns all released elemental Chakra (such as wood, ice, fire, etc.) into actual physical manifestations of that element. This technique has been shown to revert Mokuton to simply being trees, and affects all techniques used within a 3 meter radius of the user. After activation, this technique stays passive for ten posts. Can only be used twice per battle.

D e s c r i p t i o n:
___The Ten-Tails (十尾, Jūbi) is the combined form of Kaguya Ōtsutsuki and the God Tree, created to reclaim the chakra inherited by her sons, Hagoromo and Hamura. It is regarded as the progenitor of chakra, and is tied to the legend of the Sage of Six Paths and the birth of shinobi. To end the beast's rampage, the Sage became the Ten-Tails' jinchūriki and later split its chakra into the nine tailed beasts to prevent it from causing further harm. The Ten-Tails is brown in color and titanic in size; one of its hands is larger than any of the tailed beasts. While the beast possess multiple forms, common attributes include a single eye, which takes up most of its head, and spiky protrusions growing out of its back in a shape reminiscent of a conch shell.

A b i l i t i e s:
___The Ten-Tails is said to be the progenitor of all that exists in the world. A god that created countries, it has the power to swallow oceans, split the land, and carry mountains. Kurama admitted that it alone wouldn't stand a chance against the Ten-Tails, and stated that the Sage of Six Paths said that its revival would result in the end of the world. The Ten-Tails cannot be sensed through traditional means as it gives off the same sensations as the natural energy circulating throughout the world. It is also capable of manipulating that natural energy.
___After amassing its chakra, the Ten-Tails' roar can stir a series of massive natural disasters. The Ten-Tails also has the ability to manipulate and alter its own body to some extent, allowing it to regrow lost limbs, purge burning flesh from its main body, and form additional hands to grab enemies navigating on its surface. To defend itself, it can spawn fission beings of many shapes and sizes, ranging from humanoid to animal-like in appearance, some of which wield weapon-like appendages on their arms.
___In its tree form, its roots can extend and capture enemies as large as tailed beasts in order to absorb their chakra, turning humans into desiccated corpses in a matter of seconds. Its jinchūriki can shape these roots into other forms, such as giant wooden dragons. When the bud at the top of the tree blooms and the eye within is revealed, the Infinite Tsukuyomi can be activated. If the Ten-Tails is revived with only a piece of some of the tailed beasts' chakra, the bud may take up to fifteen minutes to bloom, though the process can be accelerated by absorbing more chakra. Those who are caught in the Infinite Tsukuyomi and attached to the roots of the tree are, over the course of years, gradually reduced to shells of their former selves, ultimately becoming White Zetsu.
