Erato still didn't know what all he was supposed to do with his newfound powers or why he'd even been given them. It wasn't like he felt worthy of them. He was a damn coward and didn't have a single 'mean' bone in his body to do any of this fighting. The last time he'd run into a youma alone he'd run rather than fighting it and he was pretty sure if anyone else found out they'd be completely disappointed in him. At the moment he was sitting in the playground at the local park on a swing kicking his feet in the sand. He should have gotten Afton before going out but his friend had been busy with school work and other things and he didn't want to bother him. That said he didn't even know why he'd bothered powering up other than feeling like he should even if he didn't have any idea what he was supposed to be doing.

As luck would have it, Sailor Thisbe had also decided to power up that evening. Her dance class had wrapped early and some time after grabbing dinner she'd made her way to the park. Generally everyone was gone by dusk save for the other things that went bump in the night. This time there seemed to be a few stragglers wandering the paths back towards their care and somewhere in the distance there was another aura. Thisbe smiled as she made her way towards the playground, leaving her hood down off of her shoulders this time. The aura felt weak-- no, that probably wasn't the right way to describe it. Fresh? New? New was probably the better choice of words. Not new to her, but new to everything. She didn't want to frighten whoever was on the other side of it. When she saw the senshi on the swings she smiled, hopping up onto the wooden box surrounding the swing set. She balanced carefully on the edge, hands going out to either side of her so that she could steady herself as she walked towards the other. "Good evening."

Erato noticed a strange prickling on his skin almost the same time he heard someone elses voice. His foot caught in the sand and he looked up, eyes wide, as the ... other senshi? Spoke to him. "Hi." He smiled slightly and ignored that is hands clutched a little tighter at the swings chains. She felt good, the way Sumi had said others like him would feel, so he shouldn't be in any danger. But it was the middle of the night and all this was still weird.

"Not much for words, hm? I was even trying not to be scary. I've usually got my hood up." She flashed him a grin before making a gesture to the swing sitting empty beside the other senshi. "Name's Sailor Thisbe-- Mind if I take a seat? It's a nice, quiet night in the neighborhood. I'd like to enjoy it a little too."

Eratos cheeks flushed at the other senshi's words and he shook his head. "No, sorry I'm usually a lot more, I mean i'm friendly I just, this is all still weird and I didn't ... sorry." He winced when he realized he was babbling. He really had to get out of that habit at some point or everyone was going to think he was a weirdo. "I don't mind if you sit. My names Erato." She probably already thought he was a weirdo but he could at least try to be friendly and stop jumping at every little thing. She wasn't one of the 'bad guys' and she seemed friendly so far. He didn't have any reason to be afraid of her.

" Relax, kid. I'm not going to bite." Her smile remained warm as she took a seat on the swing next to him, digging her heels into the dirt to give herself a little rock back before leaning forward. "No apologies either. Wandering around this town in these outfits gives us all a little bit of leeway to be quirky-- Of course, if you ask anyone else, I'm kinda quirky anyways." Quirky. Annoying. Irritating..... All three and more depending on who you asked. "Erato, though? I think I might know some of the people that you know-- second hand, at least. Dunno if you've heard the names Corvus or Eta yet? But I heard that you're Sumi's newbie."

"I'm not a kid. I'm in collage." Barely but she didn't need to know that. He knew he looked a little young but not enough she should be saying 'kid'. She didn't look that much older than him. "And you do sort of look like you'd bite anyway." There was a slight grin on his lips, teasing a bit, even though he didn't really feel comfortable. That's how Afton dealt with things right? Hearing Corvus' name did surprise him though. "Yea ... that's me. Arsinoe mentioned Corvus but I haven't met her. You're another of their friends?"

"Bet you're younger than I am-- And I know that I look young. Doesn't matter. You're still younger than me." She pushed against the ground, rocking slowly on the swing once more. The swings were one of her favorite things in the playground, next to the balance beams... And the jungle gym, sometimes. She laughed softly at the mention of 'friend' and Erato's question as to whether or not they were friends. "Corvus thinks I'm irritating, which I can be, and... I've never actually met Arsinoe, but I do know who he is. How are you doing with all of this so far?"

"Not all that well honestly..." He bit his lip, sighing slightly as he looked down at his feet. He prodded the sand under his toe, moving it around a bit while he thought about how to actually answer that. "I don't think I'm cut out for this. I haven't actually been out alone before tonight. Usually Bermuda is with me." But he was busy and Erato couldn't constantly expect Bermuda to protect him. He just had to make himself believe that. "I'm not sure why I got picked for this."

"Because there's a part of you that's brave." She paused as she spoke, reaching over to cover his hand with her own. "There's a part of you, deep down, that shines with a light so bright that it has to fight. And I know it sounds like a lot of bullshit, but it's true." It was easier to say the words than it was to believe them, but right now she did believe them and she hoped that was enough to make Erato believe too. "Also? If it makes you feel better? Most of us are s**t when it comes to fighting alone. Senshi are supposed to work together. We fight the best when we're in a group so it's okay if you're not ready to give things a go on your own." More words of wisdom she should start listening to. "So. Who's Bermuda?"

"I'm not sure about that." He managed not to tug his hand away but it was a close thing. "The closest I get to brave is standing on a stage and then it's not really me." At least it was easier to think of whoever he was playing as 'not him' and that made acting easier. That way of thinking didn't seem to work when he transformed though. Erato wasn't a fighter and he didn't know how he'd be useful. What Thisbe was saying was close to what Arsinoe had said though. Easier to fight in a group and better. That way everyone could support everyone else. Shaking his head sightly he turned his attention away from those thoughts. "He's a friend of mine, a Knight. He's the brave one."

"Alright, well you can't be doing too badly in all of this if you've already got a knight friend. Most of the ones I've met are pretty cute. How about your friend?" She teased, hoping to lighten things up a little bit if she was able to do so. "Being a senshi is kind of like putting on a mask and doing a performance. Unless you've told someone who you are then no one is actually going to know anyways. It's a chance to be something different." A chance that she hadn't actually stepped up to herself until recently. God, maybe Eta was right....

Erato shook their head slightly. "He was already my friend. We ... this whole thing," He waved a hand at himself indicating his outfit. "Happened to us at the same time so I don't think that counts." It wasn't like he'd made friends because he was doing this whole senshi thing right. He wasn't even sure Arsinoe liked him or was just putting up with him. "He's cute though and he'd probably like hearing you say that." More so than he'd actually pay attention to it from him. "It's not quite the same as on stage though. At least ... i haven't been able to make it feel the same."

Her lips quirked into a teasing smirk as she pushed herself into another rock back and forth on the swing. "Have you told him that you think he's cute? Actually told him and not just complimented his shirt or his shoes?"

"Me? No." Erato shook his head again, pushing himself in a slight rocking motion with his foot. "He's not interested in me so if I said it he'd just laugh it off." Or it would somehow go right over Afton's head. That's how things always seemed to go when he bothered to try. It was good enough being his friend anyway. It wasn't like he needed anything else.
