▶ WELL-READ — Edgar is a very knowledgeable child, taking after his parents. Usually occupying his time in books and observation, he doesn't find it hard to gather knowledge and learns very quickly. His most preferred knowledge, however, lies in diverse literature, mysteries, puzzles, and world-building; explaining Edgar's love of history and detective stories. Edgar actually has a good streak in academics and excels in maths, it just happens that he has a passion for history. As much as this was a blessing, this made Edgar hard to keep up with the children not in his level; thus being dubbed as someone who was a bit uptight and way mature for his age.
▶ DETAIL-ORIENTED — People call him out for being a perfectionist, but Edgar insists that he finds value in detail, pattern, and order. While never obsessed in detail, he likes to observe and scrutinize the things handed before him. With this, he is "blessed" with an observant eye, not the type to forget things and usually very adept in awareness. This leads him into questioning so many things, restless, and a bit picky as a result.
▶ ACTIVE — Contrary to popular belief, Edgar doesn't actually stand being stuck in the library for too long- claiming that there's a difference between being a bookworm and being bookish. This may also add to the fact that his father taught him that there's more in knowledge than just memorizing formulas, adding that being sociable always help. As a result, Edgar loves to partake in activities because it means that he'll have fun and knowledge along the way. On the other hand, this made him bite more than he could chew... and the fact that he wasn't always satisfied with that he does didn't help.
▶ QUIET — Edgar has a lot of opinion for many things, however he prefers keeping things to himself unless being asked. He doesn't like arguing with people unless being provoked to, as he usually finds it very tiring and is aware that sometimes there are people who won't listen to what he probably has to say. This keeps him in less arguments and less trouble, while also feeling resentful when it has something to do with him.
▶ UNSATISFIED — Edgar, while pragmatic and already proven to be a smart person, struggles in seeing if he really is what he and the people thought he is. He wants to prove and prove usually for people, but even so he puts high standards to himself that if left him disappointed. He is rarely satisfied with what he achieved and wanted to strive more and more, making him restless at best and self-destructive at worst.
▶ AFFECTIONATE — Edgar, once you established a bond with him, can be a very affectionate and loving person. He likes to give gifts and isn't afraid to show how he cared a lot to his friends. This makes him a very good friend to talk with, but to other people it makes him look either annoying or clingy. People can also take advantage of him due to him exposing his affectionate nature, but fortunately he is quick-witted enough to notice it.

▶ CHILDHOOD — Edgar was born to two loving parents: Campbell and Emily Farquarson. Campbell was a former Ravenclaw and a successful Ministry worker; meanwhile Emily was a muggle and a detective. Campbell and Emily met with a mutual acquaintance in a wedding party, as the latter happened to have a magical sibling in her family and open-minded enough to be entrusted with magical knowledge after passing the WOMBAT exam. They fall in love and they got married, moved to a home in Scotland and have a baby boy named Edgar- namesake to the famous American writer, Edgar Allan Poe.
However, Edgar's mother died on duty when he was only three. Campbell tried to save a face and continued to work hard to support his family, while also accepting help from his siblings. At age eight, his father remarried to an auror named Anika Kleinman- who he met at work. Edgar didn't like the woman at first because it was like she was trying to replace his late mum, but since his dad asked to be nice to her in the least, Edgar didn't say anything. Also, a week after the wedding, they adopted a baby boy named Oscar, and it took a while before Edgar warmed up to the concept of having a little brother.
As Edgar and Oscar continued to grow together, they eventually get along. And because his parents were busy with their jobs, he and Oscar always spend time with their relatives more than at home, sometimes a nanny if it's necessary. Edgar also struggled not to disappoint his new mother and inadvertently his father, as she seemed to think that since Edgar was just like Campbell, she was planning on putting high expectations from him. The young boy didn't protest about it however, since he already proved himself to be a smart kid- but he didn't know why he had to prove more that he ended up being unsatisfied. So the moment he got his letter in Hogwarts, Edgar wondered if he should work hard for himself or work hard to be live up to both his and his parents' expectations.
▶ SCHOOL LIFE — Edgar was sorted to Ravenclaw, and that alone made him very happy. It meant that maybe he wasn't a fool like he thought he was. He made several friends and even joined the Drama Club as well as the Quidditch team, filling as the seeker (reserved). But other than that, Edgar still left some time for himself as he still kept on studying and studying so that he won't make a fool of himself. But overall, his dad seemed to be happy that they shared a house- though his stepmother didn't seem to say anything other than a simple congrats. That left Edgar torn as a result, should he take his father's compliment and be at ease, or continue to impress his stepmother?
Summer before his second year, Edgar began to realize that Oscar was being meeker than before. He chalked it up to his stepmother probably teaching him the ways about the real world as if she was in a hurry for Oscar to "grow up". Thus, Edgar had resented his stepmother throughout the summer, knowing that she would really care less about what he really felt. At the start of his second year, Edgar had started to continue his friendship with Felix- developing after the latter found out that Edgar won't do anything to make fun of him. Together they joined the Daily Dragon and Edgar was happy to win another Quidditch cup in Hogwarts (even if he was still a reserve).
