Chrysanthe had only been in Belrea for a week or so, but already the girl was loving it. No one here glanced at her because she was a hybrid, but rather found interest in her as someone from the other continent. Whenever she was asked about her people she would randomly flip between saying she was a Sautian to a Matorian - something which amused her greatly since no one could really know that she was that different from being purely one or the other. Strange how being judged by appearance can take a whole new meaning in a different place. Chrys grinned as she skipped through a stone path that twisted through one of the city's parks. I can't believe this. More than her own amusement at being able to hide her true races the girl was simply in awe of the whole area. The clothing, the technology, the way people went about their daily lives - it was fascinating! Even this park was amazing to look at! The trees were huge and some decorated with strange things that jingled as the wind brushed through. It made such a lovely chiming sound and they had fountains and so many colorful flowers that decorated the paths with little areas for younglings to play with each other...talk about a whole new world!
"Just wish I had someone ta really navigate me around these parts." She pursed her lips before shaking her head. What was she sayin'? Had she gotten softened by that fish brain to the point that she expected someone to randomly appear that would be her guide? Chrys could only brush the dirt from her leather leggings before continuing on, "No way." She was doing fine as it was. She had already gotten a room the past two nights, bought new clothing, and even allowed someone to play with her hair. Who knew that in this continent there were actual artisans who specialized in hair and style? Chrys chuckled at the thought before reaching up to touch the tips of her hair. If she went home to Sauti looking like this how badly would her mother freak to see the pink intermingling with the golden curls?
Now that would be a fun sight.

Torva was free of his twin sisters for the day, the two of them going out with their mother and aunt instead, probably for some sort of girl's day out. It was something that he was gladdened by since it meant that he had a bit of time off. He couldn't be alone though since there was a lot of rules out at the moment that said nobody could be alone due to the threat of some strange creatures, bug mages or something like that, so he had to be careful with where he went and what he did. He'd decided to stick to the parks and other busy places for that reason, putting on miniature shows for anyone that was interested. Presently he was entertaining some kids the age of his sisters and their parents with a mixture of acrobatics, juggling, with a few magical tricks tossed in now that he was learning such things. Anything to entertain and delight! Well... anything but using his guns at least. Outside of shows and training with his grandfather he was banned from using them since he was so new at wielding them. Only once he was better at using them and casting through them them would he be able to use them for shows like this. Until then just little tricks he could still pull off without channeling the power through his guns. Upon the urging of a couple little kids in the front of the group he set to doing some back flips for them. It seemed of all the things he could do the simplest really were the favorites of the more energetic kids. Since it was easy to do he was only too happy to oblige.

Chrysanthe found her attention drawn to a growing crowd of people. Curious of what could be gaining so much attention the hybrid found herself skirting around the outside of the group until she could see who they were applauding. Oh. Gaze widening ever so slightly Chrysanthe found herself watching as a young man did some back flips. I suppose that's entertaining. Her mouth curved up into a faint smile of amusement. It seemed she had a knack from going towards one entertainer to another. Perhaps I should get away before this one drags me into all the trouble that the other one got into. But surely it wouldn't hurt to just sit on this bench and watch the guy fool around a bit, right? Chrysanthe could only shake her head as she sat down to the left of the spectacle. Though it didn't take long for a couple of younglings to point at her, " Look mommy, she's got funny ears!"" Shhh, she's right there. She's just from the new mainland is all."'Her cheeks flushing ever so slightly Chrysanthe awkwardly waved before raising a finger to her lips and pointing towards the entertainer. Less on me and more on that guy. Not that she could get upset over a child's curiosity - it was far better to be seen as interesting than scorned for who she was. That definitely was a perk of this new land. It was so different to feel like she could be part of the crowd even when others clapped for the young man she found that she too could join in with some clapping and a faint smile as she watched.

Torva shifted himself so that he went over backwards into an arch, then lifted himself up so that he was on his hands, seemingly entertaining the kids that much more as some of them set to squealing in delight. It was attention that seemed to waver though as someone in the crowd was suddenly talking about 'funny ears' and another about someone being 'from the mainland'. Instantly he shifted to look in that direction, eyes wide, as he sought out the foreigner. Was is Neryssa? Was she here to fall into his arms again? A man could dream... Instead of the woman of the Water Tribe though he found himself looking at a pretty blond with long, the same sort of cute ears, and rather pretty eyes too. She was extremely different from the other Water Tribe girl he'd met but she still looked similar... so maybe they were a tribe of many colors like the Lightning Tribe? Shifting himself so that he was up on one hand he gave the girl a wave and a wink before he said, "Hello and welcome! Thanks for watching!" He had to admit he might start to get a bit of an ego if anymore mainland girls came his way he thought to himself a bit of a grin.

What a show-off. Still Chrys found herself smiling in amusement as the boy continued to entertain the crowd. But then she found her smile fading as he stared at her. Despite her best intentions it seemed she had once more brought some attention to herself. A light flush warmed the back of the hybrid's neck before she glance away in response to his greeting. How was she supposed to deal with that? Such cockiness and that wink! It reminded her too strongly of a certain boy she had met back in Matori and how frustrated he constantly made her. Brushing dirt from her leggings the woman shifted on her bench so that she could gather her bags. Perhaps it was best if she left - though at the thought someone accidentally bumped into her and her bag flew across the ground scattering many of her belongings. "Sorry!" The child ran as fast as he could and disappeared into the crowd leaving Chrysanthe to clean up the mess. So much for simply fading away and not gaining attention, right? She could only shake her head, her gold and pink curls bouncing with the movement, as she bent down to begin gathering her belongings.

Torva had returned to the little show that he was putting on, doing a couple of more tricks for the children that were watching, when he heard the clattering of various objects across the ground. His attention turned to where the blond girl was, giving her another glance, and then found himself grinning again. Walking over to her on his feet he gave a laugh and said jokingly, "You needn't scatter your things about to get my attention, Miss." Lowering himself down so he was sitting normally he set to helping her gather her lost stuff, juggling it once he'd gotten a decent amount of stuff picked up. It was only done for a moment before he caught it all in his hands and held them out to her, "Are you alright?" It just didn't seem to be her day as luck didn't quite seem to be on her side. As such he felt that he should make sure that she was alright before he got back to doing any more tricks for those gathered around them.

Chrysanthe blinked in surprise as the lightning boy approached her. At his teasing, however, her cheeks flushed a light rose. "Scatter...my things...for attention?" She managed in short bursts, "I think if anything you should be the one scattering things for my attention considering how you glanced my way right away." She quipped back as she quickly tried to pile more of her belongings into her satchel. How embarrassing! Ugh did all entertainers have to flirt like this? What had she been thinking to get caught up in his act? I should have known better. She pressed her lips into a thin line as she concentrated on her belongings and tried desperately to ignore how close the entertainer was. And wait...was he juggling her belongings? Cheeks still flushed Chrysanthe grabbed her things from his hands and quickly shoved them into her bag as well, "I was quite fine thank you." She replied, "I'm not delicate, I can pick up my own belongings. You should continue with your show." The hybrid stood and fixed the leather strap of her satchel back over her arm, "You don't want to lose all that attention you worked so hard for after all." She commented with a frown, "You're only distracting yourself from your work by focusing on a nobody like me." There now maybe he would shoo and go back to his tricks so that she could fade away. Not that she was 100% invested into him leaving her side, but it was what she expected as Chrysanthe always had such a prickly personality.

"Is that all I have to do to get your attention? If so I'd be only too happy to toss a few things around." He said with a laugh, doubting very highly that it would be as easy as all of that. It was never that easy when it came to anything involving girls or so he'd seen during all of his interactions with them. After the girl took everything from him that he'd gathered for her he said in a joking manner, "You are quite fine and your very much welcome." It seemed that she wasn't one that wanted to be helped out, huh? Instead the 'I can take care of myself' sort of girl. Her tone felt a bit on the prickly side but he really couldn't say that it was enough to drive him off. He had a thicker skin then that. Instead he glanced around and said, "I'm sure that my audience would have been very disappointed in me if I had just ignored you and left you to do your own thing." Hoping to his feet he said, "Don't worry though, I won't do anything to upset or bore my audience." Lifting his hands up he set to gathering some magical energy into them, creating a trio of orbs made of glittering ice, and set to juggling them. The last thing he wanted to do was drive them off, so he'd best keep his tricks going even as he chatted with the woman.

Chrysanthe felt her cheeks burning as he continued in his attempts to hit on her. Was this how Belrea worked? You could openly entertain and then flirt with others without a care in the world? Or did this man just have a lot of nerve like she had never seen before? Well...never seen yet over here at least. The other one had been a surprise at first as well when she had met him. Perhaps it was an entertainer thing? "Next thing I know you'll be asking me for a date in a cafe or something after your performance." She quipped boldly - surely he was just flirting with words and had no real intentions of wanting to know her. That should definitely make him venture away from her so that he could continue getting his applause. Strange logic, but that was Chrysanthe's way - she truly didn't know what to expect from the stranger so it was all on a gamble. "I see..." Chrysanthe brushed dust from her tunic before his next actions caused her to pause with surprise. Magic? He had magic and was an entertainer? These new lands definitely were strange! A small trick, but I suppose it works. It was rather pretty to see how the ice glittered with the sunlight - never before had she seen magic used outside of battle, and even then she had never truly seen much of that either save for in passing rumors or from stories, so Chrysanthe was surprisingly impressed. As she realized she had actually began watching his movements the hybrid flushed once again before taking a step backwards, "I'll go back to my bench now..." She whispered quietly, "So you can fully entertain them I suppose."

Torva looked over at the blond girl before he gave a bit of a laugh, "Well, if you want me to ask you out I might be able to do that. It would have to be after the show though since I shouldn't abandon my work just because a pretty girl arrived." He said in a teasing voice before he continued with the juggling. He was guessing that she wasn't too terribly interested in the date she mentioned but he couldn't resist responding never the less. As the girl said that she was going back to her seat he gave a nod, "It was talking with you!" He said, working on juggling the three bits of ice with one hand so he could wave with the other. He then set to summoning up some more magical orbs, a trio of water ones this time, and set to juggling them all together. It was made more difficult since the water orbs wanted to fall apart and the ice wanted to melt. Something that was kept from happening through his magic alone. It was a trick that drained him a little though so he'd only be able to keep this one going for so long before he'd have to move on to something else. A few more tricks later, most of which were physical ones to avoid using up all his magical energy, and Torva called it. The crowd that he'd gathered was nice enough to pay him for the work, something he was quite pleased with, before they started to head off in various directions, leaving him to count his tips.

"Might be able to?" Replied Chrysanthe with surprise before a small smile flickered across her face, "We'll see then." At least he was dedicated to his work? Surely she would just leave though since there was no point in going to a cafe with some stranger , especially one that was such a flirt. She knew those types - they just stole a kiss from you and then left to never be seen again and if you did see them it was wrapped around someone else. Chrysanthe's gaze lowered for a second as she settled back onto a bench. She would rest for a moment, get her bearings, and then head away again. That was what she wanted, right? But then despite her frustrations the hybrid found her gaze drifting upwards so that she could watch the next trick the boy had. He was using water now? Chrysanthe was actually enchanted to watch him work since it was so unusual to see magic in such a form. She had always enjoyed performances as a child and despite everything it was fairly easy to get absorbed in the performance. He truly seemed to enjoy it after all and the energy was pretty easy to carry one along. So despite telling herself that she was about to leave Chrysanthe just continued to watch up suddenly their was more applause and he was done. Oh. Blinking a light flush decorated the hybrid's cheeks. Had she really just been watching the whole show? So much for sneaking away. Would it be rude to just disappear as well? Others were paying him and she had watched the performance. Despite her prickly exterior the girl had been raised to have some politeness and she knew that paying someone for their hard work was only right. Even if he had wasted some of the show bothering her it surely wouldn't hurt to drop a coin or two as well for him. So as he began counting his tips the hybrid strode over from her bench and held out a couple coins, "It's not much, but you did a good job." She confessed though her gaze darted away, "And I know you weren't serious about taking me out so you don't have to worry about that. I just wanted to give you these coins." Who would want to go out with her anyways? She was a hybrid and even in Belrea it haunted her that she had a mixed heritage and that others would look down on her for it. So why even bother to expect anything from anyone?

Torva looked up from his counting as more money was offered to him, this time by the blond girl from earlier. He gave a smile and said, "Many thanks! I'm glad that you enjoyed yourself." It always meant a lot to him when he was able to entertain those around him. As the girl mention that he didn't have to take her out on a date Torva gave a laugh and said, "Awww, are you sure? I mean I have enough gathered now that I could take you on a decent date too." He wasn't sure if she was actually interested or not but he might as well make the offer. No reason not to since she had brought their potential date up again. Torva set about pocketing his earnings before hopping to his feet, stretching out all over as he did, "The magic took a lot out of me so I plan to go and get something to eat. You're more then welcome to come with... though only if you want to. There is this place not far from here that serves the best soup and bread! Not to mention you can also get the best cookies there too. I'm a fan of the ones with chocolate and dried fruit in them but there are other types if you'd prefer."

"Mmhmm." Chrysanthe gave a short nod in return to his statement. She couldn't really lie and say it hadn't been enjoyable, but she wasn't going to sing his praises either. It totally was not her style to do such a thing after all. She was turning away from him to leave when his laughter caught her by surprise. Was he laughing at her now? Her fins even felt flushed as Chrysanthe turned about sharply to make a retort - just because she had anticipated his lack of sincerity didn't mean he could tease her for it! "You-" She started before blinking as his words actually registered with her, "Aren't you teasing?" She finally managed as her surprise settled a bit, "I mean I'm a complete stranger and you just earned all that coin...wouldn't it be a waste?" Surely she shouldn't. She had just been interested in his act, not in the man himself so why bother? And money was precious, she had learned that when finding work along her own travels to make due, and the hybrid felt bad to take up free food. It just wasn't the way to do things, right? But why did he seem so open about the invitation still? And food did sound good...her internal debate seemed to be answered by her stomach that let out a little growl and Chrys flushed even more as she crossed her arms across her stomach, "I - I haven't really eaten anything today..." She began as she glanced to the side out of frustration and embarrassment, "So I suppose I could go get a bite to eat - though you really don't have to pay...."

Torva gave a half shrug and said, "I could always earn more later. I mean the stuff that I get from shows like this is just pocket change earned on the side while I'm practicing. They aren't really planned shows so much as me just gathering a crowd because I'm practicing doing tricks." Best that he reassure her that she wouldn't be causing him any grief by having a meal with him. "The main shows are actually done with a whole group of people and I do more daring tricks too! Ones that involve my guns... which I can't and won't use in a random park like this one." He didn't want anyone to risk getting hit with a stray spell or something. He'd save trick shooting for when he was with the rest of the troupe he thought to himself idly. At the growl of the girl's stomach he seemed to perk up, his eyes shining, and he said, "Well, it seems that at least your stomach is in agreement with going along with me. How about the rest of you?" He asked, pleased when she said that she could get a bite to eat though tried to get out of having him pay. He tilted his head to one side before he said, "I really don't mind. Though in exchange maybe you could give me your name? It would be a little odd to take someone out without knowing what to call them. My name is Torva! And you are?"

"Must be nice." Chrysanthe replied before hastily raising a hand to cover her offensive mouth. She constantly had a problem of speaking her opinion and since coming to Belrea had tried her hardest to be more polite and less rude, "I mean...I didn't realize entertainers made so much coin." She flushed lightly and glanced away, "Maybe I should have picked that up." Couldn't be too hard right? Could she deal with the attention though? The hybrid pursed her lips thoughtfully. What was next? Ask the guy to teach her a few tricks? Hah! Totally not her style to ever ask for help....but then again going on a date with a complete stranger, if ever on a date in general, was not typical for her either. She did give him an appreciative nod though, "Nice to know you care about safety then." Sometimes people weren't always aware of others around them and constantly could cause trouble. Chrysanthe smiled in bitter amusement at the thought before offering him an honest grin that was unusually friendly for the hybrid, "I suppose then I would have to see a full show to actually get a better idea of your talents then." Ugh what was she doing? What if he did invite her? Surely she wouldn't be in the area anyways. It was fine, right? To lower her guard for a moment to enjoy a meeting that would result in nothing and mean nothing once she had moved along her travels to never see the man again? I suppose in that case it really won't hurt. And she was hungry so why not be polite enough since she was getting a meal? The way he perked up as well caught her off guard. People definitely could be a lot more friendly here it seemed, "I suppose since I can't really argue against my stomach when it comes to food." She confessed though her cheeks seemed to warm just a little bit as she consented to a meal with him, "My name?" Chrysanthe blinked in surprise as she simply stared at him for a moment, "Torva...I mean Chrys. My full name is Chrysanthe, but you can call me Chrys."
