Reagan comes from a poorer lifestyle, though she would deny it if ever asked.
She grew up with a single mother, and two little brothers. At a young age, she was drawn to the underground music scene. It was more her pace of life, of people, and quickly made a name for herself among the crowds of others so much like herself. She found it was in that scene that she finally had a voice, literally, and was able to forget her daily struggles.
It didn't take long for a guitar to land itself in her hands, and her extraordinary talent was born. Her Senior year in High School she decided to write up an application for Westhaven, her dream college, and submit a video of her playing her beloved music. She never expected, with her background, to ever make it. The day she received the acceptance letter from Westhaven, she couldn't get there soon enough. Although she would need some help from Student loans and housing, she would also need a job just to be able to stay.

Major: Music Performance and Songwriting

Likes: Metal/Punk/Underground Music, Coffee with Whiskey (a luxury), Reading Dark Fantasy Novels, Cigarettes (also a luxury)

Dislikes: Mainstream Music, Champagne, Sequins, Fancy Jewelry.

BullyOwen made his way steadily across the campus to his class for the morning. His full leather backpack slung over his shoulder in a casual manner. He wore his usual outfit, black dress pants, a crisp clean white button down with his leather black tie and leather shoes. This was the outfit that he wore to school on a daily basis, every part of him was clean and sharp. Not a single piece of hair out of place, nor a stray bit of lint on his shirt. Most people of his status dressed this way though, it was how they picked each other out from the… lower class. The thought of any less made Owen’s skin crawl, it had only a few weeks into the beginning semester and he had already found people who did not belong at this university. People who couldn’t even pay their way into the school, let alone afford it. But every once in a while, the school still let them slip by. They were nothing more than peasants in his eyes, in fact he was sure that he could own them if he wanted too. But there was nothing to be done, in fact he had already tried to talk the board and they were not willing to negotiate with him.
This year though, he had found a particular eyesore in his English class. She was a music student, which by itself meant that she a lot lesser of a person than he was. Music was nothing but high-pitched squeaks and clanks of instruments paired with even more high-pitched screaming. But it was the easier way to get a ticket into the school. The music department was all based on “talent” and less on money. Another thing that he couldn’t stand. Talent made up for nothing in this world. Money was the only way to make your way to the top. But either way, she was there. Like a blot of black ink on his fine piece of paper. It made his blood boiler at the thought of her and since day one, he made it his mission to make sure that the girl knew she wasn’t welcomed. He did everything from stealing her notes to tripping her to bribing the teacher to fail her on a few tests and homework assignments. He didn’t care what it took, he was going to make sure that this girl wished she choose a college more to her social status. Which of course, would be no college at all.
“Hey, Owen!” A familiar voice called out to him. It was one of his friends, Jonah. His father was business parents with Jonah’s and the two had been friends since Owen could remember. “Wait up!” The other called, hurrying over to him. “I don’t want to miss seeing the look on her face when she gets today’s test back.”
Owen smirked. He, yet again, bribed the teacher into failing the girl on a 20 page paper. “At this rate, she’ll have to drop the class if she can’t keep her grades up, which will certainly be brought to the boards attention. She won’t last till the end of the semester.”
The two of them shared grins as they headed into the English class for the morning. He couldn’t wait to see how she would crumble at the F on her paper, and once she crumbled she would be back where she belonged. On the bottom.

Now I wish that I could find my clothes
Bed sheets and a morning rose
Bar to bar at the speed of sound
Fancy feet dancing through this town

Raegan sighed as she slung her black band patched knapsack over her shoulder, strolling across the cold campus, she use to be so excited for her classes. All of her classes. Now only her Music courses kept her interest, it wasn't that the other classes weren't interesting, they were. That wasn't the problem, the professors seemed to zero her out. Even if she studied hard, double checked and even sometimes triple checked her answers, lately it seemed that she just failed. As hard as she worked to be at Westhaven she didn't want to give up. Everything her life was going towards rode on her degree here mostly. Her degree wasn't even what bothered her the most, it was the people. They all viewed her from a distance, seemingly sizing her up to their standards. When she inevitably failed those standards, they lashed out, directly and indirectly. She had never felt so scrutinized as she had at Westhaven. She had never felt quite this targeted, ousted, hated. Raegan clutched her cup of campus coffee closer, searching for comfort in its warmth, and pulled her pack of smokes out of her black biker jacket. It was in the cooler seasons, and not too many students were mulling about on campus, giving her some much needed peace. She frowned as she opened the pack, counting only six left, which didn't leave her much until payday. She lit one and took a long drag while casually scanning the grounds, crossing her fingers her tormentors weren't anywhere in sight.
One particular student had made her life worse than any other, she couldn't forget his name, particularly because he was so snobby and popular with the other students. Owen. She shivered at just the thought of him, he terrified her, no matter how handsome he may be. He made sure she was crystal clear in knowing her place. She was lower class, an unintelligent, worthless peasant. She blinked back tears, putting on a brave face, as she saw her dear friend Brooklyn approach. She was a brilliant drummer, true talent, and quickly became her closest friend on campus. "Hey Rae Rae!" she stated happily as she trapped her in a bear hug and proceeded to drag her towards English. Her worst class. She had failed every test, and was sent to the deans at least twice a week for outbursts, usually brought on by the F's on her papers. "Hey Brooks, can't you just tell Ms.Sykes that I'm sick today? You can give me the stupid test results later." Brooklyn gazed at her thoughtfully before continuing on her war path. "I will not be sent to the deans today, thank you. Besides, you have nothing to worry about Rae. You studied with me remember? I've passed every single test in her class, it's impossible for you to fail this one."
Rae frowned, staring down at her coffee cup. Owen was in that class, but she would never admit defeat in front of him. Cower or back down, she had to stop this eventually. But she was also too afraid of the kind of pull his family had in Westhaven. Her and Brooklyn walked the rest of the way in companionable silence. When they arrived the class was already mostly full of students, chatting away happily awaiting the results of the latest test. Raegan took a seat in the back of the class, near the doors, a quick escape route. She pulled her songwriting notebook from her bag, occupying her time with working on her new piece, and trying to think positively about the test results. As the tests were handed out, you could hear the chatter die down, when her Professor finally gave her her results, her heart stopped. On the front of the written exam, was a neatly written, red capital F. She had failed, and glancing over at Brooklyn, she hadn't. Her vision blurred as she fought back the tears pricking at the corners of her eyes. She calmly collected her coffee, notebook and bag, and left the room. Hearing a chorus of laughter as the doors swung shut behind, no one trying to stop her. She picked up her pace in the mostly empty corridors and trudged outside into the unforgiving cold weather. She ignored how many smokes she had left and quickly lit one with trembling hands, her face wet and her cries silent.

BullyOwen sat down with Jonah in their usual seats near the front door of the classroom. It was a nice place to watch as the lower people ran out the room, embarrassed or upset. He greeted his other friends that were already sitting there and began talking with them. Most of it was mindless chit chat, who was hosting what party that weekend, where they would do after class, etc. He could keep up with it in his sleep, he was familiar enough with it.
“I can’t wait to see her face,” Jonah repeated for the third time that morning. “She’ll be so crushed, she’ll have no choice but to leave the class.”
“How much did you bribe the teacher this time?” another one of their friends asked.
Owen smirked. “I didn’t. I felt like I gave her too much money already, so I simply reminded her how much influence my family has here. After all, most of the school funding comes from my father. I told her that if she didn’t want to cooperate, I could always have a talk with the board.”
The small group all grinned at him. Though they came from wealth and high status, none of them had nearly as much authority as Owen did. Even if they did, he was the only one that was willing to use it for personal advantage. That was something they all admired about him too. His willingness to do whatever it took to get what he wanted.
“Oh s**t, here she comes!”
The whole class went dead silent as soon as Raegan walked in, watching as she made her way to the back of the class. It made Owen’s stomach turn every time he saw her. If she was from a higher status and had better taste in clothing besides cheap leather jackets, he probably would have found her attractive. Cute even. But that wasn’t the case, and whenever he looked at her, he felt anger. She wasn’t supposed to be here, she didn’t belong here. Soon he looked away, turning his attention to the teacher as she started class by handing back the tests.
A satisfied smile settled on his face when he saw the clear A marked at the top of his paper. He expected nothing less of himself and for himself. When the last test was handed out to Raegan, him and his friends turned to see her reaction. His smile grew when he saw the tears glisten in her eyes. Maybe she would finally learn that she couldn’t be a part of this high-class world. When she marched out of the room, the class erupted into laugher and a few cheers. He got pats on the back and a few high fives from his friend but a part of him still wasn’t satisfied. He hadn’t seen her cry. She looked like it, but she refused to cry in front of them. He had to fix it.
Once the lesson started, he neatly gathered his things into his backpack.
“What are you doing?” Jonah asked. “Where are you going?”
Owen gave him a cold smile. “I’m going to exterminate a mouse.” With that, he stood and walked out of the room. No one dared to stop him.

Raegan sat on the chilled dirt under a large dying oak, surrounded by dead leaves. She had thrown her coffee in a trash bin on her way out to her favorite secluded spot, opting instead to just cry, the drink long forgotten by now. Her tears didn't stop, for once she wasn't able to put on a brave face or act tough. Her throat hurt, she just wanted it all to stop. She wanted to scream it at the top of her lungs, instead her next breath came out a broken sob. Nothing was working anymore, maybe she could bring her scores to the dean, ask him for the test answers to prove that she hadn't failed all of the tests and assignments. More tears rolled down her cheeks at just the thought of being proven wrong, that maybe she had failed, because she just wasn't worthy. In a vain attempt to stifle the sound of her own cries, she pulled out her IPod and stuck in her earbuds, blasting her favorite heavy metal. She pulled her knees up and buried her face, torn between ignoring the world and wanting to see it burn. She hated wallowing in her own depressing thoughts, but couldn't fight it anymore, everything she had been dwelling on since the beginning of her term crashed into her full force.
Raegan felt like her head was spinning, her breaths coming in shorter gasps, and she belatedly realized that she wasn't crying anymore. She was having a mental breakdown, and she was alone. She wanted to scream, but couldn't even move anymore due to her trembling. Not unless she wanted her legs to collapse. She forced her eyes closed, focusing on the music blaring in her ears, trying to sooth herself. After several minutes had passed, her breathe slowly returned to normal, and the shaking had all but stopped. As she reached for her knapsack to grab her notebook, she froze like a deer in the headlights. Standing not ten feet from her, was Owen. Raegan internally winced as she realized, by the digusted look on his face, he witnessed her entire breakdown.
When her brain finally registered again, her eyes widened slightly before her entire face took on a look of resignation. "Here to gloat? Because i'm quite sure, you don't need me for that. Let me guess, you're here to rub salt in the wound? Why not a bit of both. Save us both the hassle of doing this again later, because we both know how this ends. " She knew what fate awaited her, and she knew she would walk away in tears again. Her breakdown too fresh to rebuild her defenses before he struck, mentally or physically she wasn't sure. Why she never stood up to him, she was clueless, he was the first she hadn't stood up too. She thought she had a hold of how to deal with bullies back in High School, but as an adult the situations were extremely different and quite diverse.

BullyWhen he found her, Owen didn’t approach right away. Instead he stood a good few feet from her, watching as she broke down in tears and then what looked like some sort of breakdown or panic attack. A part of him smiled at the sight, maybe she wasn’t finally realizing what he had fought so hard to pound into her tiny little head: that she was worthless. That she didn’t belong at this school, or any other school. She was just pretending that she could be for whatever little fantasy she had playing in her head. But now, now it looked like she understood.
The other part of him though, didn’t want to smile. It felt disgusted at the sight of her crying there in a ball of self-pity. Did she not have any sort of dignity? She couldn’t at least take her breakdown off campus where no one would see her? Even as lower class, she should have at least cared about how other people saw her. The disgust he felt twisted the smile on his face into a grimace as he stared down at her, watching as she hyperventilated and shook under the tree.
Finally, she calmed down enough to notice him standing there. He took a few steps towards her, noticing how tiny she looked huddled into herself. Owen stood at a solid six foot so most people looked short to him, but Raegan looked smaller than most people whenever he saw her. She always looked like she was going to get swallowed up by the crowds. Sometimes he wished that she would.
He rolled his eyes down at her. “Don’t flatter yourself, peasant. I just wanted to make sure that you understood that how worthless your attempts here truly are.” Something about this make his stomach twist again. It made him want to walk away for the first time. “You may think you can fit in here but you can’t. You’ll never be like the rest of us.” He reached into his shirt pocket, pulling out a handkerchief. “For example, you don’t even have enough dignity to go home and cry about it. You let yourself fall apart where anyone can see.” Owen tossed the handkerchief down at her, watching it as it landed on her foot. “Why don’t you clean yourself up and stop being such a disgrace for this school? It’s pathetic.” With that he turned on his heel, slowly walking away, but the tightness in his stomach still didn’t ease.
