Physical Description: Small and daintily built, Esfir has sun kissed skin, waist length caramel colored hair worn in two loose braids and dark amber honey eyes. Her facial features are delicate and she has a bit of a snub nose and is almost always seen smiling.
Personality: Though reasonably mature for her age, Esfir is still very much a child in some ways.She has a bad tendency (entirely encouraged by her mother) of wheedling away at people until she gets what she wants. She's also terribly impatient and thinks that things should happen now. And due to her very sheltered upbringing, Esfir is far too innocent for her own good. However, Esfir is also incredibly loving, having no issues with anyone's interpersonal relationships, be they man or beast. As far as she's concerned, love is love is love and shouldn't be shamed or derided. And, in spite of her mother's best efforts, Esfir is highly adventurous, delighting in new sights, sounds and experiences. Who cares if Western is half a world away from the Wine Hall? Do you know how very interesting and exciting it all is?!? Also, if you're ever in need of a soft word or touch, Esfir is quite gentle. She may not be able to help a whole lot, but she knows how effective a quiet word here and a delicate brush of the shoulders there can help one feel a little better.

History: Born within the Wine Hall to a Master Vintner and the Head Woman (who had aspirations to be a Lady Holder), Esfir was extremely coddled and sheltered as a child at the insistence of her mother. For the bulk of her formative years, Esfir was told how she must always be lady-like and strive to make the best possible marriage once she became Old Enough. By the time she was five, she was in danger of being turned into a spoiled rotten brat. Fortunately, her father put his foot down and insisted she be sent to school with the Hall's other children and gave the harper in charge permission to do whatever it took to make her behave like a decent person.
Surprisingly, it took very little in the way of beating or yelling. No one is sure of exactly how the harper worked her magic on Esfir. But they do know that she went from being practically unmanageable to being fairly decent within the space of about two turns. As she continued schooling, she became more and more interested in the world outside of the bubble her mother had created for her. And thanks to her father's putting his foot down, Esfir was allowed to explore the hall and play with the other children. She was still sheltered, but at least now her world was expanding a little.
She was fascinated by her father's work as a vintner and often went with him on market excursions or helping him with the safer steps on the wine making process. In fact, when she became old enough to apprentice, she stood up to her mother and stated that she wanted to be "Just like Dad". And in spite of several stormy quarrels, Esfir got her way and, at thirteen, was installed as an apprentice in the hall where she grew up.
What no one expected was to have Thread return that turn. In the fear and chaos that followed, the hall emerged mostly unscathed. Enough grape vines were saved from ruin to keep the hall afloat. And when she was fourteen, Esfir was snatched from the hills were the vines grew by searching dragons from Western.
Of course, her mother threw a fit, but Esfir and her father talked the woman around enough that Esfir was able to leave with a grudging blessing. Esfir still isn't sure she's rider material, but the Weyr itself is so interesting and she's happy to do her duties and help. Even if some days she wishes she could be lazy and sleep in. Or not deep clean. Oh well.
Other: Esfir has some knowledge of wines due to her growing up in the Wine Hall. And she's happy to report that the Benden White is still the best wine out there. And her dad is the best vintner. So there.
