Demi was in a good mood. She had brought Lex home with her tonight, to show him all of the plants she'd been going in her room. She was so excited to do so. She also was going to introduce Jonah and Lex tonight, and she'd brought a box of chocolate cupcakes from the Coffee Shop she and Lex had first met in person at.

She got the door unlocked, after handing Lex the box so she didn't drop it. She popped the door open, and said "Hey Jonah, my friend Lex is with me, we have cupcakes! Lex, this is my roommate, the future AMAZING Doctor, Jonah." She walked in, beaming, and headed towards her plants.

And then stopped, all the color draining from her skin under her fur. She stared at her plants, eyes going wide and shocked. Her plants... her plants were... What had happened to her plants? She shook and then stumbled forwards, tears coming to her eyes. "My plants... my babies... What happened... my plants! Her tone was filled with incredible distress.

Jonah was majorly thrown off balance he was expecting for Demi to return alone and for her to think the joke was at least sort of funny. He didn't understand why Demi was so upset and explaining that the charm was easy to remove seemed like a death to the prank. Jonah looked between Demi and this Lex figure, and their cupcake. Jonah was also confused why had Demi had brought Lex with her. Jonah grumbled, "I'll make some tea." He was uncomfortable and wasn't sure if he should point out that this had been a prank to get back at Demi for signing him up for the dating site without his permission. He wasn't planning to be a jerk, but he was just he didn't know, Lex knew how to comfort Demi and Jonah didn't. It made Jonah feel something he wasn't quite sure what it was.

Lex was a little taken aback when Demi threw herself into him but instinct took over and he hugged her as she cried. Listening to her voice her worries, he had to admit she had a point. Some magics didn't mix well and even if the effect was meant to be harmless, it could interfere with whatever enchantment Demi already had on them. Lex rubbed the neko's back and rocked her a little as he tried to calm her down....

Though he wondered now why Jonah wasn't more concerned. Demi was clearly upset and they were roommates; wasn't he worried? Or did he think that making tea would help calm her down? "It's ok, Demi....we'll figure it out and fix it. If there was any damage I think it would have happened by now...." He was trying to be logical and hope that his words would help her clear her head. He also hoped he was somewhat right, that if there were any clashing effects of the magic it would have probably shown by this point.

Demi continued to cry against Lex, trying to calm down at his words. "I... I hope so..." She lifted herr face, tear streaked, about to ask Jonah if some one had come by while she was gone, because it would never occur to her to ask him if HE'D done it...

And then he went to the plants, and undid it. Her face went paler under her fur,
as she stared at her roommate, confused and shocked that he had done this.
His words, his reasoning, confused her at first. "Wh... what? I... I just wanted you... to find happiness, Jonah... I didn't mean to upset you! I'm sorry!" When he went to the door, though, she surged out of Lex's arms and across the room. "Wait... You... you're going to move? I didn't mean... I'm sorry!" She was so upset now she couldn't even process what was going on. Was she mad at him for messing with her plants, or was she worried about him leaving? Was she worried about her plants taking any damage, or was she relieved the charm was so easy to dispell because it probably was very minor?

She didn't know. She just knew she couldn't let Jonah leave. He was her friend, and she cared a lot about him. She grabbed his arm, sobbing more now.

Jonah was afraid and uncertain he had been angry, Demi had done something without his permission and he had done something he thought was funny in return. Then she got so sad and it was ruined Lex was so understanding and calm. Jonah wasn't sure what to do he was happy living with Demi but she seemed to be happy with Lex and mad at him, so why did she need him in her life anyways. Jonah's small world wasn't sure how to handle sharing Demi with someone else. She had been his roommate that was all, he wasn't jelous. Lex suggested sitting and talking but what good would that do.

Still Jonah frowned he couldn't just leave with Demi looking like that so he went and flopped down on the couch. He still was unsure what to say, but Demi had already said sorry, so Jonah echoed it though he wasn't sure why she was so sad and upset it had just been a joke. "I'm sorry Demi." Jonah looked down at his shoes. Jonah looked down at Demi's hands on his arm and listened to her sobbing. "Please stop crying I didn't mean for my joke to go this badly, just let me go and then you can live with Lex or something," Jonah said misunderstanding the situation.

Lex sat in a chair separate from them, looking between them and trying to understand the dynamic. It seemed a little cloudy but from what he could tell, Jonah wasn't the most social of people and didn't know how to approach this. Demi was torn between her concern for her plants and concern for Jonah. He had to think for a moment, trying to figure out how to approach this situation when Jonah apologized but went to dramatics again. "There's no need for such extremes. I think what we are missing here is an understanding of each other."

Lex tapped his chin thoughtfully as he looked between the two, looking to Jonah first.. "Jonah, you're upset because Demi signed you up for the site without your permission. She might have had good intentions but you may have thought she did it as a prank, perhaps? So you wanted to get back at her and cast the charm....which seemed fairly harmless, Im guessing, considering how easily you removed it....so it wasn't meant to be hurtful..." His gaze then shifted to Demi. "Demi, you saw the effect on your plants and were afraid that it had harmed them or interfered with the enchantments you had, which would have ruined everything you had done and all the work and heart you put into it....and because you thought that what you did for Jonah could be good for him, you didn't think that he would do something like that. You feel worried about your plants, confused because you don't understand why Jonah did what he did and now you're scared that somehow this whole thing is going to drive him away."

This was....complicated. It was a simple misunderstanding with not-so-simple reactions and consequences. "Now....I really dont want to think that you'd do anything to hurt Demi on purpose, right Jonah? There's nothing wrong with a harmless prank here and there...but I think you just chose the wrong subject for it. You know that her plants mean a lot to her, so maybe it wasn't the best idea to mess with them....but I understand why you were upset." Lex kept looking between them as he spoke, trying his best to outline the situation from what he could see. "Demi, I know you thought you were doing something good....but it really wasn't fair to put Jonah on the site without saying something to him or talking to him about it. I don't know much about him or how you two usually are with each other but I don't think a friendship should end because of something like this and you don't want Jonah to leave or be upset, either. Jonah....do you really want to move out?" Lex hoped that the Geist would talk about how he felt with Demi and that they could work this out. If anything, he knew Demi cared a lot about Jonah and he hoped that Jonah cared, too.

Demi looked down,
her fingers still gripping Jonah's hand. These were the two most important people in her life, and she had wanted them to meet... She had, secretly, deeply hoped they'd click, because she cared so much about both of them, and didn't want to lose either one. She listened to everything Lex was saying, her ears back some in her concern over all of this.

Finally, she peeked up through her bangs at both of the men in her life, and she whispered "You're right, Lex... I shouldn't have done that. Jonah..." She lifted her head, her golden eyes fixed on Jonah's face now. "I'm sorry, I really am. I didn't mean to upset you... I... When I did it, it just seemed like a good idea. Obviously, I made a mistake, and I should have consulted with you first.
You're... my closest friend, Jonah. I don't want to lose you. I never wanted to lose you."

She took a slow, deep breath, then said "I don't... maybe you didn't realize I was using those plants to practice my enhancing enchantments on?" Her other hand slid out, reaching for Lex now, because she wanted to hold his hand, feel his support to. "If so, I'm sorry I didn't tell you. I just am worried about spell interactions, you see..."
