As the days went on Crocus only grew more concerned by their continued stay in the foreign castle. At first he had tried to think of it as a sort of vacation, visiting a faraway homeworld with an attractive Queen. The food was bad though and none of the books made for any good reading. The servants didn't speak and recently that 'attractive' Queen was nowhere in sight. There was also the fact that he didn't have any feeling in the tips of his fingers on his right hand, there was also an odd lavender colored patch on his left cheek. He was worried that the 'plague' the Queen had mentioned had something to do with what was happening to them.
There was no reason to stay in his room forever though, the answers to their escape wouldn't be found hidden under his bed. The library had been a dead end though, as far as he could tell anyway. They had no way of progressing past that mysterious door as of yet, but if the Queen remained hidden for much longer he might suggest they try breaking it down.
One thing was for certain, he was going to drive himself crazy if he didn't go searching for some sort of answer. With a heavy sigh he pushed himself off of the bed and made his way toward the door. Once he opened it and took a step out though, he didn't notice his fellow court member until it was too late and they had collided, talk about poor timing. The door slammed against the wall and bounced back at them, but at least he was able to block that blow by holding out his hand to catch it. It was a bit awkward, seeing as he was on the ground and with a girl on top of him as well. He could think of so many things to say in this situation, but he held himself back.
"Are you okay? You're not hurt are you?"

It was after her. She knew the shadows were following her. She'd been suspicious, at first, but after some quick thinking and double-glancing on her part, she'd managed to trick the shadows into revealing their true intent: to get her. It made a lot more sense in her head, at least, until she realized that nothing was following her when she was about four hallways away from the room she'd spotted the sinister darkness in. Maybe her mind was playing tricks on her again, like it had been when she saw the extra-pink skin forming on the back of her leg, just that morning. Wait... it had been morning, right? Either way, the best course of action had seemed to be running, so she'd continued running as her lungs and throat burned from the exhaustion, up until the point she'd run herself directly into some poor, sorry sap who was just trying to leave his room. The senshi of confusion let out a shrill squeak as she tumbled down atop the boy, hands scrambling to push herself off as she managed to roll to the side, cheeks flushed and clearly out of breath. Wide eyes stared at him while she worked out the words, "N-No, I'm fine. I think I'm fine. Mostly fine. Are you okay?"

The poor girl did not look fine. It looked like she had been running from something, but when he glanced down the hall he didn't see anything. Aside from this bizarre plague that seemed to be affecting them all, he didn't think there was anything that could harm them in here.
"Me? I'm fine, it's not every day a beautiful lady falls into my lap." Okay, so he couldn't hold back forever, but he propped himself up and onto his feet. He held out a hand to help the poor girl up. "I'm Crocus by the way. I've seen you around, but sadly we haven't been introduced." He remembered her being close to another Senshi in the court, the girl with the flowers in her hair. Sadly he had no idea what her name was either, but they seemed fairly close from what he had seen.

If Lovejoy had perhaps an hour or two more of sleep under her figurative belt, she might have found herself charmed, even delighted at the prospect of being called beautiful. It wasn't a compliment she'd received often... okay, not at all. Usually Kelly was the one that was called "beautiful" while Beatrice was always labeled "weird" and "unusual" but it was something she'd grown used to, over the years. And yet, with what little lack of sleep she was working on, the words were missed but she did manage to catch the young man's name. Crocus. Interesting. "LJ - I mean, Lovejoy. LJ's just easier." Her hand extended itself up to receive his as dark eyes scanned over the young man's face before she asked bluntly, "Have you caught the disease too?" Leopleuradon oh my goodness, don't apologize! I love all tags, short or long or in between! <333

Lovejoy, that was a very pretty Senshi name. When she looked up at him and mentioned the mark on his face he could only sigh. Once she looked steady enough on her feet he let go of her hand and reach up to touch the spot on his face. If they left this place, would it even go away? Was it too last for them to avoid whatever the end of this was? At first he had thought it was the plague that had destroyed most of the Queen's world. But he wasn't so sure anymore, after all the book he had found about flora contained both average looking flowers and crystallized ones. Which lead him to believe the plague was something else. So he was back to zero idea of what this was.
"I have..." He finally replied, a little comfortably. "I like to pretend it's some sort of prison tattoo though." He tried joking a bit, as he often did in situations like this. The first couple of days here he'd been a little too relaxed. Now though, it really was beginning to feel like a prison. He missed real food, his guitar, the ocean, his boat, so many things that provided him simple comforts in life.
"Why were you running though? Did you run into something scary?" Maybe there was some sort of monster out there that was causing this mess while they slept. It would maybe explain why one night he had gone to be without and lavender marks on his body, but woken up the next morning with them. A bit far-fetched, but still a possibility.

A comparison to a prison? Interesting. "So you think we've been captured and forced to stay here against our will too, huh?" There was no reason to beat around the bush, not when it came to the gravity of the situation. No one had been able to find an escape and now there was some sort of disease that had been spreading around the group like some sort of rat-less plague. LJ would have preferred a rat plague at this point - rats could be a source of protein, if you didn't think about it and found the right oven to cook them in. Oh god... was she really even considering that as an option? She really, really needed to get out of there. "I thought I saw something," she admitted, her voice dropping to a more sheepish level. "I think my eyes were playing tricks on me... unless the Queen has a new way of spying on us." Pausing, she narrowed her eyes at the other senshi. "What do you think of her? The Queen, that is."

Crocus would be the first to admit that in the beginning, Altea painted a pretty picture. That she had saved them from Mirrorspace as it was collapsing on them. That excuse could only last so long though and where was she now that they were all starting to get 'sick'? Did she bring them here to corrupt them in some way? If that was the case, could she be the reason Mirrorspace had been acting so crazed lately?
"I didn't think so at first. Call me naive if you must." He sighed as he ran his fingers through his hair, a habit he had when mulling over reports and such for school. Lovejay certainly seemed to be a bit of a conspiracy theorist, it would probably save her butt some day. Why did he always try to see the good in people before assuming the worse? "Now though? At the very least I know we're stuck and that it doesn't seem like we'll be leaving soon."
The queen spying on them? Well, she did have her servants. Conveniently known them them could speak to the crystal being, but maybe the Queen had a way to talk to them. Maybe he ought to be more careful if he bumps into one again.
"I think she's probably a pretty lonely person. I don't know if that's why she 'rescued' us, or if she somehow organized this to happen. She doesn't feel evil, at least not in the traditional sense. But lonely people, even those that are good, can do some pretty crazy things to get rid of that loneliness." At least, that was what Crocus had come up with so far. Who wouldn't want company in such a huge castle?

The man had some decent points, LJ would give him that much. They were definitely stuck and by the look of things, they weren't leaving anytime soon. Which was only more problematic, considering this rash or whatever it was kept creeping its way on all of them as time progressed. What happened when it spread all of the way? Would they become crystal minions, silent and weird and stalking around the castle like a bunch of creepers? "Loneliness can drive a person mad," she mused softly, pondering his comment. Living in a castle of silence... well, that sounded maddening to LJ and she'd only been there for a few days! "Do you think she's capable of nefarious intent?"

Crocus took a moment to ponder Loveoy's question. On the one hand the Queen had seemed nice enough when they first met. But, wasn't that exactly how someone capable of 'nefarious intent' be able to act? He really wanted to believe that this wasn't all some giant trap, but as the days continued to drag on, he was really starting to worry. He supposed everyone was capable of doing something wrong, if the reason was good enough.
"Certainly. The problem is we don't know what she is capable of. For all we know she's just some monarch of a mostly dead world. There's the chance she has some serious power though as well." He nodded along as he spoke, trying to think about how such extreme isolation could have an effect on him. He lived for his social life. Hardly a day went by without him hanging out with friends.
"What would you do if you were stuck in a castle all alone for who knows how long? I think I'd go crazy after writing a couple hundred songs." Music would only distant him so long really, after all he was often inspired by his adventures and friends. As far as he could tell, there was no where to go outside of the castle. The servants didn't seem to have any actions of their own. It was really kinda...dull.

"I think you're on to something there, friend." If LJ could figuratively stroke her chin, she totally would be. In fact, she thought, it probably deserved a chin stroke. One hand moved up and she did just that - Crocus had some good points. They both had good points, as far as she was concerned, but good points didn't solve the ultimate problem. Being alone in a castle for umpteen million however-many-long years would totally send her to the nut house too. But would she reach the point where she'd kidnap a group of innocent people and try to take them down too? Okay, maybe. "But what can we do? What do you think our next course of action should be?" It wasn't like they could videotape the woman and catch her in the act of doing anything wrong...

Crocus really didn't have much of an idea as to the right course of action. Since arriving in Altea's castle he had really just been going with the flow. He spent most of his time in the library, even though he couldn't understand the books that lined the many shelves. It was really the only thing he could think to do. There probably wasn't a good answer to LJ's question...
"For now? I say just make sure to watch out for each other. We should all proceed with a little more caution at this point. Maybe if we look around enough we'll find a mirror that actually works?" If they did find a mirror though, what sort of condition was Mirrorspace even in? That could potentially just send them back to square one and for now he'd rather take his chances with Altea and her castle. At least it seemed stable, though he really wished there was a way to go outside.
"Also....I know it sucks. But you should think about eating something. I haven't been eating much, just enough to not pass out. You're not going to be any help to anyone if you starve to death." Crocus could only assume part of the reason she might be seeing things was due to her lack of eating, also probably a lack of sleep as well. "Maybe a little bit of sleep to? I can sing some lullabies if you need some help?" The girl really needed to think about herself a little bit more in this situation. He knew it was starting to look pretty bleak, but he didn't want her to die on them before they could even think of a way home.
