Smile. Smile for the camera. It's about the press. Don't let them see anything more than the smile. Fame, bright lights and interviews. There were rules for it all. It was Seraph's life outside of school and the first thing he remembered. Going around with his parents and the band. Seeing the glitter and the charm of celebrity life. Seeing the fake ness that came along with it. Seeing how people did anything to keep that shining brigh light in them. Seraph had started turning out just like them.

He didn't know how to socialize if it didn't involve money, everything was solved with money. It wasnt anything his parents had taught them. Meris had tried to keep Seraph down to eart, it just didnt stick. It hadnt stuck during his childhood.

He remembered he hated to see people cry but he didn't know how to cheer them up. Didn't know how to take responsibility for his actions beyond buying things to try to get it to go away. However he knew now that wasn't how you went through life. Each action had a consequence. People were more than just what you could buy for them. It had taken years for him to realize that. It had taken drifting away from his group of friends and finding that he didn't really have any close friends.

As he spent more time at the academy he learned you had to find your real friends in this celebrity world. You needed to take a breath and appreciate what you had. You needed to work for it. Life wasnt about the fame. It was about friends and family. It was working to fix your mistakes and not paying for them to disappear. It was what you did and the size of your heart more than what you bought. Seraph had a lot more to learn but he was willing to learn. He wanted to get better. He wanted to be counted on, responsible and independant.

Sure he would always be part of that glitter and those lights, but he wasn't going to let them blind him.
