'Star Wars' Obi-Wan Kenobi Film in the WorksWhat do you think? Are you hoping this movie will come true? If yes, what part of Obi-Wan's life do you think should be covered? Obi-Wan is my all time favourite Star Wars character, so I am more than hyped. I would personally love Ewan McGregor to come back. They could give us a movie about what Obi-Wan has been up to while in exile (I'm sure he didn't just sit around on Tattooine for 17 years). An origin story would also be great even if that meant no Ewan McGregor.

It should be set between prequels and originals--it's the only time he was ever alone (no Qui-Gon and no Anakin) for any long stretch of time. Or maybe I just want it set then, because I want Ewan McGregor back. Recasting is such a crap shoot, I'm already nervous enough for the Han Solo prequel.

I really want a movie set at that time too. It was an interesting time in the Galaxy too, right after the fall of the Jedi and the Republic. I would love to see a movie that shows a bit more about life in the Empire.

I realize the expanded universe doesn't so much count anymore, but my impression of the Star Wars galaxy is that nothing much had changed in like a thousand years--until suddenly, bam, no more Jedi, and no more democracy. (Sure, the Senate doesn't get dissolved until A New Hope, but its teeth were long gone by then.) In the more backwater areas like Tatooine, maybe nothing much changed in people's daily lives, but there should be lots of planets that keenly felt the difference.

I don't mean the super villain bullshit of destroying whole planets of course, I mean the normal every day life stuff. I want to know how and why the rebellion started, how (and if) people outside of the rebellion felt about it, etc. Now that the EU is not canon any more, I really want a new "official" story about that.

A movie set on tatooine would be neat, but I'm wondering what they could do with it. Like, would they make it about some internal conflict involving the hutts or would it be about his training to preserve himself after death like Quigon and yoda did?
Am I over thinking this? I feel like I should just be happy. xD

There is this pretty cool design for what he could have looked like between episode III and IV. It's called "Mythos Obi-Wan":

You're totally right! I'd never once entertained the thought that he'd leave on occasion, but it would make lots of sense in the aftermath of episode 3.

Yes! I want this so badly. Just to give you an idea of how much, I love Han Solo but am apprehensive and not looking forward to the Solo movie--I love Obi-Wan but not as much as Han--but still think a movie about him is a better idea.
Would also love to see McGregor come back.
