Physical Description:
I'lian is reasonably attractive, though he wouldn't think of himself that way. His hair is a dark coppery red, thick, straight and shaggy, hanging to the middle of his back; for fighting Thread, he keeps it braided back out of the way. His eyes are a pale amber in color, piercing, narrowish and hooded. He stands a whopping 5'3", built slim and wiry, lean and hard; he's fine-boned, with strong hands and broad strong shoulders. His skin is very pale and prone to burning rather than acquiring freckles; he does not tan at all. His face is somewhat spade-shaped, with a straight nose and small pouty mouth. He rarely smiles, but has dimples when he does.
He prefers to wear dark colors, especially black; he wears white or off-white loose long-sleeved shirts, though, to avoid roasting, and long pants tucked into boots. He tries to keep as much of his skin covered as possible to avoid burning when he's out in the daytime. His flight leathers are, of course, black.
Personality:
I'lian has always been something of a loner -- there's no history of personal trauma, he just has never been terribly hungry for the company of other people. This has been changing, however -- he has become more social (and more sociable) since Impressing and is rather close to the others in his Weyrling class. He prefers the company of those older than himself, as he views most of his age contemporaries as "callow" and immature. Even so, he enjoys being part of a small, tight-knit circle of peers with whom he can socialize comfortably. He'll never be a party animal, but he's no longer quite the self-made wallflower he was prior to Impression.
Inspired early on by his father's stories of his Oldtimer ancestors, I'lian enjoys learning about Pern's early history and fantasizes about what life must have been like back then. He is especially interested in the history of High Reaches, one of the oldest Weyrs on Pern. He is incredibly proud to be part of that storied legacy.
I'lian has never been in a relationship, but he's had lots of crushes on girls, and a few boys too. Reluctant to actually approach someone he's attracted to out of fear of rejection, he idolizes them from afar, then ends up pining away over the object of his crush and drawing endless pictures of them, most of which he destroys later when he convinces himself he's wasting his time because they'd never want to be with him (dramatic sigh)... In truth, he knows nothing about The Chase and will probably have to be hit over the head and dragged bodily off to bed by anyone interested in him.
A rather talented artist, I'lian has several sketchbooks filled with drawings (well, except for the pages he tore out, per above). His favorite pastime is sitting and drawing. So far, though, he has never shown his art to anyone, except if they approach him while he's busy drawing and he has no other choice -- and even then he's just as likely to say no, close his book, and leave. He gets teased a lot for this, which only reinforces his opinion of his "callow" contemporaries.

History:
Descended from Oldtimers, whom he romanticizes, Irillian was raised as a weyrbrat at High Reaches and had a fairly unremarkable childhood. He was quite the loner as a youth; he disliked most of the other kids and tended to avoid socializing with them, greatly preferring the company of adults. Captivated by his dragonrider father's stories of his ancestors, young Irillian was determined that he would carry on the family legacy and ride a fighting dragon. As was expected of him, he began standing for clutches as soon as he was old enough, and Impressed blue Xith at age 16.
As a Weyrling, I'lian worked hard to excel at his training, and was an above-average student. He and Xith especially shone in the simulated Threadfall drills, and proved themselves an agile, daring pair in the air.

Physical Description:
A smallish blue, Xith is sleek and snake-like in build, with a sharply wedge-shaped head, a long tail, and relatively long, pointed wings.
Personality:
Xith is a fierce, feisty, no-nonsense little dragon; cocky and competitive, he has no fear of anything. A fan of mating flights, he's determined to win them all! He's an agile flyer, almost as agile as a green, with quick reflexes and a good instinct for Thread. Strong-winded, he'll want to stay up in the air for an entire Fall. He flames in relatively short, precise bursts, but eats a lot of firestone in the process.
