Xenia bounced on her heels. This was the park where she kept running into Wavellite - and she had an offer for her girlfriend, one that she hoped the other girl would be as excited for as she was. She hadn’t been to her planet, yet, and there was no one she would rather take with her than Wavellite. She certainly didn’t want to go alone -- what was the fun of space if she was doing it on her own?
Much better to bring someone she wanted to share it with. They’d get to experience her world for the first time together, and that would be...special. Magical. Maybe if she was really, really lucky, Xenia would be able to get a space kiss. Which would, somehow, be different than a regular kiss, solely by virtue of happening in space.
Totally. That was definitely a thing.
She sat down on the picnic table they’d sat together at last time, kicking her feet and waiting. Hopefully Wavellite would come this way tonight, and she would be able to bring her out there, and it would be amazing.

Wavellite loved coming to the park, and the biggest draw to the park was of course the fact that she might see Xenia. And tonight, she could tell by the sweet little aura that greeted her, the might had become a definitely. And that made the lieutenant very happy indeed.
“Hey there my beautiful girlfriend.” She moved close and held a hand out to the chibi senshi, grinning as she did so, even going so far as to give a little bow. “I’ve missed you, my little warrior princess...and I hope that smile that’s on your face means that you’ve missed me too, because if you haven’t, well I’ll just be terribly upset if you haven’t missed me.”
It was nice, the feeling of joy that coursed through her upon seeing this senshi...it made her feel all warm and cozy inside...and honestly, she really, really liked the feeling. She really...really liked Xenia. It had gone from an elaborate game, to something else so quickly...it almost frightened her. Almost.

Xenia felt a Lieutenant aura and she prayed. It had to be Wavellite - surely it would be too much of a coincidence to be someone else. And, yes, there she was, and Xenia lit up at the sight of her.
’Beautiful girlfriend.’ ‘Little warrior princess.’ Xenia wasn’t sure how she was meant to be anything but blushy and giggly when Wavellite said things like that. How had she ended up with someone who was so good at knowing exactly what to say to make her melt? It wasn’t fair at all.
“Of course that smile is because I missed you,” she said brightly, “or, really, because now I don’t have to miss you anymore.” She took the offered hand and leaned forward to try and catch Wavellite’s lips in a brief kiss. Every time they touched, she felt a rush of butterflies in her stomach, and everything seemed a little brighter when Wavellite was around.
She was….sort of starting to understand all those dumb sappy love songs.
“Hey, Wave,” she said, and then she grinned. “Do you trust me?”

Her girlfriend was shining like a lighthouse, and for half a moment, it utterly took Wavellite’s breath away, especially when soft lips brushed against hers in a stolen kiss. Huh. Well then.
Reaching out, Wavellite took Xenia’s hand and gave it a squeeze. “Of course I trust you. I trust you with anything. You’re my girlfriend, it’s my job to trust you.” Quite honestly, she would have followed Xenia anywhere right now. Even if she hadn’t been sure that the senshi wanted to come to her side...even if Xenia asked her right now to turn traitor and join her side...she thought she might do it.
Maybe. If it were to come to that...well. She just wanted to be with Xenia. “I can’t keep you out of my head, Xe...I can’t wait until we can be together all the time, you know…”

Xenia couldn’t help but laugh in delight. Yes, this was really everything she ever could have dreamed of in a relationship. Sure, they were on opposite sides, but they’d fix that, soon. As soon as they could.
“Okay, well,” she said, and she dropped her voice. “There’s something I want you to see, but you’ve gotta trust me.” She held tightly to Wavellite’s hand. She pulled her Senshi phone out of subspace in the other one, and held it up to prepare to let it take her to her planet, but before she did that, she paused at Wavellite’s words.
“I…” She flushed dark red, smiling broadly. “I can’t wait to be together all the time, too. It’ll happen, we’ll...we’ll be for real, not just meeting up when we can.” She took a breath, and hopped down off the table. “Now, you said you trusted me, right? Well…” She winked, and leaned in.
”I can show you the world Shining, shimmering splendid Tell me, princess, now when did You last let your heart decide!” She sang, and it was definitely the cheesiest thing she’d ever done, but she pressed the button and let it carry them to space.
It was her first time seeing her planet - she paused to take it in, graceful Greco-Roman marble and Victorian towers, blended together in a strangely seamless aesthetic.
“Welcome to planet Xenia,” she said, and then she twirled, and as she did, there was a sparkling cascade of light around her, and her uniform changed.

Xenia was singing to her. Xenia…was singing to her. And it was one of the cutest, most dorky things that Wavellite had ever experienced. And she utterly loved it. There was a moment where she was confused as to why the senshi was pulling a cell phone out though, but then suddenly…they weren’t in the park anymore.
Suddenly all feelings of things being familiar and wonderful were gone.
Suddenly Wavellite felt her chest constrict in fear as some of her Generals words whispered in the back of her mind. “And try and keep your Senshi away from her planet as much as you can. Don’t be too obvious about it, but sometimes they’ll...bond, with their planet or Wonder, and they’ll gain glowing markings and become incorruptible. Do not let that happen.”
This had to be Xenia’s planet…which meant that they were in space right now…and…
And…
Oh no. The senshi was glowing and sparkling and suddenly she felt different. And looked a little different. She felt stronger and Wavellite felt her heart stop, worry and panic rising up in her expression as she shook her head frantically. “We-we shouldn’t be here…you…god you’re beautiful…but if this is your planet, Xe, this place could make it so you can’t corrupt…Xe we shouldn’t be here…”
The lieutenant reached out, taking both of the girl’s hands and squeezing them. What if whatever that light had been had made it so that she couldn’t join the Negaverse? What if it was all over now? All of her careful plans…
Ashanite would be so disappointed. “You…you’re not glowing…are you?” She leaned close, checking for any signs of glowing markings and hesitated, placing a light kiss on the bit of her neck that was exposed under the lacy choker. “…You’re just so beautiful…I love you, Xe…but let’s go back…if this place claims you…you’ll never get to come and be with me…we shouldn’t be here…”

Xenia had expected Wavellite to be as excited as she was - it was why she’d wanted her girlfriend to come with her. This was supposed to be something special and fun for the two of them. She’d been certain it was the right decision when she’d felt new strength settle around her like a cloak. It had felt good and right.
But Wavellite didn’t look excited. She looked scared.
“What…?” What Wavellite was describing wasn’t something she was familiar with, but she also utterly trusted that Wavellite wouldn’t lie to her. “No, that’s...you know I want to corrupt, to be with you,” she said, and it felt natural to say so. Whatever else happened, she wanted to be standing with Wavellite for it.
“I don’t think I’m glowing,” she said, but she started checking with paranoid enthusiasm, looking at any bare skin revealed in her new uniform.
Wavellite’s lips on her neck made her pause, though, train of thought briefly interrupted.
“Uh.” She said, and then she shook her head to get herself back together. “Okay, yeah, let’s go. I didn’t know, I’m sorry.” She said, and she grabbed Wavellite’s hand. She’d wanted to see her planet, sure, but if it could somehow make her unable to corrupt? Nope, no way, not happening. “I don’t need to see this place that badly. It’s just some empty space rock, right?”

Wavellite nodded, squeezing the hand and pulling the senshi closer once again. “That’s right. And what’s an empty space rock compared to forever with me.” She grinned, a little wickedly and kissed her girlfriend’s neck once more. “We can find other special places to be together...I’m...I’m sorry. I want to be excited to be here too...but...after what Ashanite told me...I just, I’m so afraid of losing you, and i couldn’t stand it if that were to happen. I think I’d rather die than lose you, Xe. You complete me.”
It was cheesy, but she didn’t want the girl to be sad...that was something she wanted less than she wanted her to start glowing. A sad Xenia meant a heartbroken Wavellite...and she wouldn’t just let that happen. Not when she had the ability to prevent it.
“I’m excited that you don’t feel so...so weak anymore...that’s something to be excited about...maybe this means that you can come home now. That you can corrupt and that you and me can be together!” That bit of optimism would surely make the senshi happy. At least she hoped so.

Xenia nodded, sliding her arm around Wavellite’s waist and holding her close. She summoned up her phone again, smiling fondly.
“Exactly. I don’t need this place, or anything here. I just need you.” There was nothing on her planet for her, not really. That was what she told herself, and it was so easy to believe that. Just a bunch of sad, crumbling buildings. Boring. Especially in comparison to a beautiful, wonderful girl kissing her neck and making her feel wanted and loved and needed. “So let’s just...we can go back. The park can be our special place. That’s all we need.”
She nuzzled against Wavellite’s cheek, and then pressed a kiss there. “And I’m not glowing, and I’m stronger, so I guess that’s one good thing about this stupid planet. But that’s it. So let’s go home.” She pressed the button on her phone that would take them back to Earth, and wondered if she could just...get rid of that functionality after this. She didn’t need it anyway.
