 Jonah unpacked his things in his new dorm room at Leviathan it had another bed room so there was a chance he would have a roommate, but he figured it wouldn't hold much sway on his life either way. So he didn't really pay attention to who might come in as his roommate, he set up his computer and his thing in his half of the common area and put his clothes away in his room. Put out a picture of his twin, since even though they didn't talk much anymore, Jonah still cared about his brother. Jonah put his medical books on a shelf on his side of the common room. He looked at the door, he was a little curious if anyone would be living with him, he hoped and dreaded the idea. On one hand social stuff he was terrible at and on the other hand he needed to make friends sooner or later.

 Demeter was in her bedroom, actually, when her new roommate came in. She didn't hear him, because she had her headphones on as she was studying a book on botanical enchantments. After awhile, however, she decided she needed a break and came out, to find an unknown geist standing in the common space of the dorm,
staring at her door.
Demi froze, confused for about 30 seconds, then her eyes widened and she grinned! "Oh right! They told me my roomie would be arriving today! I've been here alone for awhile, it was getting boring on my own." The pastel colored Neko practically bounced up to the Geist, and held out her hand. "I'm Demeter, and it seems we're going to be living together for awhile. You can call me Demi. Botany and Enchanting."

Jonah blinked and blinked he had no idea that someone else was already in the dorm room so it was rather thrown off balance. Jonah stood up after a bit to shake off the brain lapse he had suffered when Demeter introduced themselves. He took their hand and said. "I'm Jonah.." He was a little nervous and uncomfortable and it was evident in his stance he didn't talk to other seniors much. "Nice to meet you Demi." He stumbled a bit in his words. "I'm studying medicine." He said with more confidence. Jonah might not be sure that he trusted seniors since Jonah and his twin Noah had been left by their senior parents but he did know he wanted to help infants and freshlings.

Demeter smiled warmly at her new roommate, as she shook his hand in a firm but friendly handshake.. "Nice to meet you, Jonah. I've been looking forwards to having a roommate." She was warm, friendly, and definitely presented female. "Medicine? That's awesome. Does the Medical Department work with botany or enchanting at all?" She sounded honestly curious, and her expression was fascinated.

Jonah was pretty clearly male and it was nothing he hid. He nodded, he didn't smile much, it wasn't something he was comfortable with, so he didn't smile unless something really compelled him to smile. He never faked or forced being happy. He liked taking care of younger beings, he would be civil with Demeter but he didn't expect to end up being best friends with a senior. "I would figure so since magic and botany is just as important to healing as anything else to heal a wound, perhaps more important." He thought considering the classes he should take for his medical degree enchanting wasn't a bad idea and neither was botany really since medicines could be made from plants.

She bounced over to the cheap couch she'd put in the shared space... Cheap but comfortable... and settled down on it to look up at Jonah. "That's cool! If you want a study buddy for any of that, I'm more then happy to help. I love what I do, and would love to share things with you as best as I can." She gestured at the couch, an invitation to join her if he wanted. There was a matching cheap chair, and a little table in between.
"Oh uh..." Suddenly it occurred to her this might bother him, that she'd put stuff here. "Sorry if you don't like the couch and all... I just was here by myself for some months and wanted a comfortable place to relax... If you like it, though,
you are totally welcome to use it too!"

Since Jonah had no family to help him or his brother and until he got started working after he graduated from university. Working at the clinic only paid so much, which he used for food and stuff. He went and sat down with Demeter. He had set up a cheap desk and chair on his side of the common room where he had set up his computer so he could do his homework and medical papers. "Nah it doesn't bother me, I don't have a ton of money either." He said not sure if he wanted to study with someone else so he wasn't sure how to address that. "Thanks." He said again nervous, he wanted to go to his room and finish unpacking but he also didn't want to be a jerk to his new roommate.

She smiled again,
glad that he was not bothered by her setting things up. She tilted her head at the geist, realizing he seemed tense. "Hey, are you ok?" She frowned, a little,
in a concerned way. "I'm not bothering you, am I? I just have been looking forwards to having a roommate. I was hoping to make friends..." She scratched her head, a little, embarrassed. "I don't have too many, but I... like having friends."

Jonah sighed he didn't think Demeter would figure out things so quickly, he also didn't want to storm off to his room and be a jerk. Because he wasn't a jerk, he just wasn't really comfortable with any other senior accept for his twin Noah. "I'm just well, I don't..." He wasn't sure how to explain everything to Demeter. "No your not bothering me, I'm just not used to being with any other seniors except for my twin Noah, I don't have any friends other than my twin.." Jonah's tendrils flared with his nerves. He was tempted to make an excuse and just go unpack in his room, but he had to live with Demeter so he didn't want to make things uncomfortable for the both of them.

Demeter watched him, quietly, listening to his words, her head tilted in a concerned and serious pose. When he finished speaking, she smiled a little, wistfully. "Well... I mean if you'd rather we have a polite, and distant relationship, I can do that for you.
I just thought, since we'll be living together, it might make more sense for us to try to be friends."
She paused, and ran her fingers along the edge of her skirt, thinking carefully about what she was going to say. "Not having any other friends, though, sounds so lonely..."

Jonah frowned he had been thinking that himself, but taking the steps to opening himself to a real friend. They were terrifying since once you opened yourself up you opened yourself up. "I just don't know Demeter I'm not slamming the door in your face, but I can't make any promises just yet." Jonah got up and said "I'm going to finish unpacking." He didn't say not to mess with his computer since he figured that would be a given since it wasn't hers, she wouldn't do anything strange while he wasn't looking. Jonah headed to his room and went back to putting his clothes and other things away.

She nodded, and said "You let me know, if you decide to give it a try... I hope unpacking goes well." She sighed, softly, and left to go for a drink at the commissary, feeling a little disappointed but understanding that it was what it was.
