Leontius Archer and Salym Whitlock are unknown twins. But what happens when they find out who they really are? And why their powers don't work on each other?
Leo had been doing much needed paperwork. He had almost forgotten that now that he was 18 he needed to update his drivers license. Even if he didnt drive much he wanted to keep it up to date. Unfourtunatly, he had to track down his birth certificate. He had recently recived it in the mail and decided why not and see who was listed as his parents names. He had always known he was adopted so that was no suprise. But what was suprising was a little check box he hadn't expected to be marked was. This has him listed as an older faternal twin.Wait he had a sibling and they were technically a twin? So they be the same age and at least partially resemble each other. He quickly did a search for the parents listed and was able to locate an article from New Jersey about a young couple getting arrested and loseing possession of thier kids aged six months, a boy and a girl. He assumed the boy had been him, and the girl must be the twin he didnt know about. He wanted to know know more and borrowing a fellow tech savvy mutant at Xaviers school where he lived, he was able to find a name and a old photo. The name was Salym and he could have sworn he had seen her before but the blonde hair, simaler to what he had before his powers appeared, let him to believe he was just imagining it. Unfourtuntly she dropped off the radar a few years ago much like him.
He was walking around a place with lots of resturants wondering what to eat. He had finished his paperwork and had a shiny new id card. He really should have been looking ahead and not at the building signs because he ended up coliding with another person. "O-oh no I-I'm sorry...." He immediately apologised before even seeing who he collided with.
โโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโ Salym had been working hard to make herself a good member of this so called Brotherhood. And they welcomed her pretty easily. Turned out being able to poison someone with a touch of the finger got you brownie points. Now came the difficult part. She had to get all of the information she could for them to have for if she ever got injured or went missing or blah blah blah. She got her shot records, her basic medical records, and finally her birth certificate. Reading up on it, she noticed something she hasn't before. There was a spot that had been covered on it, a stain over a good portion of it. She used a flashlight and shined it under the paper to reveal the darker ink on a question of whether there was a sibling, a twin. She rose a brow and sat back. She grabbed her bag and the birth certificate and headed out. She wanted to find out a few things.
Deciding the best place to go was the library, She headed straight there. Once she arrived, she got on a computer and looked up her birth parents. She found the article, reading about the arrests and about the twins that were taken and about her twin brother who had been placed up for adoption as she had. She sighed. "Leontius Archer." She whispered as she sat back. She typed the name into the search engine and found him, he looked a lot like her. As she stared at the picture, she remembered the boy from the church, the one She had touched. Deciding to print out her information, she packed up and left, looking at his picture as she walked.
Leaving the library, she stopped to get herself a hot cocoa and started home. She kept her eyes on the papers she had and didn't look up until she slammed into someone. She looked up as she fell back, looking her balance. She noticed who it was and her eyes widened. "Its you. Um... the boy from the church" she sat up and brushed herself off as she started to gather her papers before they could fly off. "I'm sorry too. I wasn't paying attention myself." โโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโ
Leo kinda felt bad that paper went every where. When she reconised him from the chapel, he recognised her too. He helped gather the papers trying to pay no mind to what was on the paper. Looked like articles and general information. Likely just doing a project. Perhaps school work. Though the part that made him freeze was when he gathered one particular sheet. It was a generan information sheet alright but of him. It sported a picture from a few years ago but ot was definitly him. He was more confused than any worried why this girl had paper work on him. Why would someone look him up?
โโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโ Finishing picking up her papers, Salym stood. She looked at Leo and stopped. He held the paper she made about him. "Oh, um." She stood there for a moment in silence. "Can I have that back?" She asked, "I was just looking up some stuff about the people who work for the church. Just to get to know them." She thought that was a promising lie as she held her hand out for the paper. Salym looked at him and waited for him to give her the paper. "I guess I could get to know you without being creepy. We can go talk over a new cup of cocoa. Mine just spilled." She explained as she looked at the spilled remains over the sidewalk. โโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโ
Leo snapped back to reality and passed it back. As shy as he always was before he fully knew someone, he felt it was right to replave her drink. "Um..sure lets do that. I'll pay...I did kinda kill it." He said with a nervous smile that he hoped showed he wouldnt mind. She did seem familiar but he could not tell you why. It wasnt just the church but something else. He figured out it be awkward to walk to the coffee place in silence so he decided to try and make conversation. "I uh like your hair... Its a nice color...." He said awkwardly. He mentally face palmed at his own words. He really need to work on these social skills.
โโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโ Salym sighed as she walked with the boy and held her things close. She looked at him as he offered to buy her drink and smiled. "That's super sweet." she told him in response as she looked at him. Then she looked ahead as she walked. When they got to the coffee shop, she sat down and looked at her hair as he complimented it. "Thanks." she told him, "I uh, woke up with it one day" she smiled as she looked at him and ran her fingers through her hair. "What about you and that almost white hair?" she asked him as she leaned back, crossing her legs. โโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโ
Leo ordered his drink, extra caffeinated caramel latte. He liked the short buzz from caffeine. He got an extra shot so he actually feel it. It had much the same effect alcohol did. He had to drink way too much quick to get drunk or a caffeine buzz, like toxic levels. He assumed he have to overload system to get any effect but even then he recovered quickly enough. They sat with thier drinks and she asked about his hair as well "yea my hair kinda did the same. It does what it wants..." Leo said nervously running his hand trough his hair. It seemed like they had simaler happenings at least with hair. It still bugged him that he rembembered her from the curch and somewhere else but what was the somewhere else....
โโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโ Salym was silent for a few moments after that and looked at him. She took a drink of her cocoa and looked at her papers. "So, your birthday. It's kind of funny, because it also happens to be my birthday" she told him as she smiled a bit and looked at him. She didnt think anything wrong about bringing it up, plenty of people had same birthdays, and it was a start to start talking about their similarities. She leaned back after taking another drink and looked at him. โโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโ
