Alasdair was standing at the base of a tree, hands on his hips, starring up through his bangs toward the thick branches of the tree that currently bore fruit upon them. He felt that given enough effort that he could climb up the tree and get at that fruit all on his own. Sure, he could ask for help, but where was the fun in that? Besides, he wanted to look good which meant doing it on his own. Something that would be made even better if he was able to bring some of the fruit to his mother, grandmother, and Faisal. "Alright! Here I go!" He said to nobody in particular before he made his first attempt to scale the tree to go after the fruit that was just waiting for him to get it. The base of the tree was big enough that he couldn't get his small arms around it but at least it wasn't so vast that it was impossible to at least get a hold. From there he started to scoot his way up, more then certain that the rough bark of the tree was going to mess up the clothing he was wearing. Already it was catching here and there, leaving little scrapes and holes in the cloth. Something that he couldn't be bothered with worrying over when he had more important things to worry about, that being getting into the branches of the tree before his mother or grandmother realized that he'd slipped away on his own again. His mother especially seemed to be the master of being able to find Faisal and himself whenever they wandered off anywhere so that meant he probably had a limited amount of time to do this, "Come on, Dair! You can do this!" He told himself as he continued the slow, upward scramble.

While his mother was caught up in piles of paperwork Faisal had decided to wander away on his own. Well...on his own to a certain degree. In actuality the child was seeking out his brother who was notorious for getting into shenanigans while their parents were occupied. Not that he got into all that trouble completely on his own, hence why Faisal was trying to find him so that he could help. All I have to do is find the noisiest....aha. Faisal's little face lit up into a mischievous grin as he spotted his brother. Standing on wobbly tiptoes the youngling glanced around to make certain that no one was around before darting out across an open path to where he spotted his brother standing, " Do what?" He quipped as he darted up behind his brother and tilted his head in curiosity.

Dair gave a little humming sound before he turned his head, glancing toward a very familiar voice, before giving a grin, "Heh, you caught up, Fai!" He said, pleased to see that his brother had joined him out in the garden. He'd of liked to have made a lot more in the way of distance up the tree before it happened but given he liked having his brother around he supposed that he didn't mind all that much that he'd caught up so quickly to him. At least it wasn't their mother who had caught up instantly or he'd never have a chance to get at the fruit overhead. He started his squirming upward climb again before he told his brother, "What I am trying to do is get up at that fruit up there. I want to bring it to Mom since she's so busy at the moment. I want to get some for you and Gram too!" Not to mention a fair amount for himself but that sounded selfish... so he'd just get his bit after he got the ones that were meant to be gifts.

Faisal grinned impishly, "Hey, I had ta make sure it was safe 'fore leavin!" He didn't know how Dari managed to do it, but Fai was always constantly caught it seemed. Hesitation perhaps? Not that the youngling really plotted - all he knew was one slow step and their mother would be right behind!
"Ooooh." Faisal blinked thoughtfully, "How are ya going to carry it all? Lemme help?" He grinned towards his brother, "I wanna climb too!" He could do this right? Just how did...how did Dair get there in the first place? Faisal pursed his lips before reaching out tiny fingers to try and grab at the tree bark.

"How am I going to carry it all? Hmm... I really didn't plan ahead that far." Something gave a bit of a laugh at the thought because he hadn't really considered how he was going to carry a bunch of fruit to those he wanted to give it to. He supposed that he would have tried to come up with something later? Now that Faisal was here with him he really wouldn't have to do that. They could split up the fruit and carry it to those that he wanted to share it with, right? "Of course you can help!" He said, shimmying his way up a bit further and finally reached the first branch. Once he had he reached out, catching hold of the branches, and he pulled himself up into the tree. Once he was finally seated on the branch he perched there, dragging in a breath, "Phew! Made it! Alright, it's your turn, Fai! Come up with me and then we can gather all the fruit that we can carry." And then some if he had his way. Since there were so many pieces of the fruit to be had they could eat them as they went! Speaking of which he reached out, plucking one of the bright red pieces of fruit from a branch, and took a bite out of it, "Mmmm... yep! It's really ripe and sweet, Fai. You should join me, they're really good."

Fai grinned, "Then it's a good thing I came around!" Like usual he was eager since he loved to be helpful after all! That and carrying fruit meant he could eat some fruit while carrying it....that is if the load got too heavy right? Fai pursed his lips thoughtfully as he glanced towards the hanging orbs. They looked delicious... Wiggling his butt the boy nodded at the invitation and after making certain to wrap his arms tightly around the tree began the process of scooting himself upwards. Thankfully this wasn't like the first time when he had fallen every try. Now that they had pulled these stunts a few times the boy was becoming an expert! Well as expert as a youngling could be that is. "You don't have to tell me twice!" As he managed to swing up on a branch Fai held out a greedy hand towards his brother, "Hand me one? I wanna try it out 'fore gathering them~" He teased with a happy grin.

Dair leaned over, watching his brother as he set to climbing his way up toward where his was perched. He gave a smile, clapping his hands, and said, "Come on, Fai! You can do it!" He cheered him on. He was quite impressed as he watched him make the climb pretty swiftly. The two of them were getting really good at this, weren't they? Soon enough there would be no tree in the garden that would be able to hide their fruit from the two of them. Once Fai had joined him up the tree he offered him one of the sweet red fruits, giving him a smile, and said, "These really are great! Once we are done gathering and if we aren't caught by then we should go after some plums too." The red fruits, cherries he thought they were called, they were good, but plums were even better. That meant climbing down one tree and up another but it would be worth it. Leaning over on the branch he glanced toward the house, then smiled, "Nobody's caught up yet!" Something he was quite proud of.

"Mmm sounds good!" Of course Fai's words were muffled by the fruit as he shoved it into his mouth and took a huge bite, "Sooo goood." He mumbled as he continued chewing. It was totally worth all that climbing practice! Even if one of the servants had once fainted when she saw the boys hanging there by a branch a couple weeks ago....needless to say they weren't allowed outside for the next few days afterwards. "Plums?" Fai's gaze widened, "Oh yes please! Plums, plums!" If he wasn't in a tree the boy would probably have run circles around his brother in anticipation. Instead he settled for wildly swinging his feet, something that he immediately stopped when a few red fruits came tumbling down from the branches he shook with the movement, "Whoops." He grinned sheepishly at his brother as some nearly hit them before smacking against a statue of a janarim that guarded the path, "Sorry Suzu!" He called down to the statue with a grin. That was something else he loved to climb though last time his grandmother hadn't been so happy seeing that either. He glanced around as well and laughed, "Great!" Fai's dreads bounced around his face as he glanced around one last time, "Let's do this then!"

Dair watched his brother for a moment, then gave a bit of a chuckle as he saw the manner in which he ate the fruit. The two of them were likely going to end up stained red again from the cherries but he really didn't mind... or at least he wouldn't until it came time for their mother to try to clean them up. It was something that he didn't really want to think about right now, "They really are good, huh? Let's see about getting them gathered so we can move on to the plums." Turning his attention to 'Suzu' he said, "Ack! Best be careful... I have a feeling we'd end up having to scrub the statue for a week if we got it stained." Their grandmother wouldn't be pleased at all so best that they didn't splatter too much fruit onto the statue... as tempting as it was to see if he could hit it from here. There was a long moment where he starred at the statue, tempted, but refrained. Another time, perhaps... and definitely another statue. Or maybe they could chuck the over ripe or spoiled cherries at the back garden wall? Shaking his head to clear his thoughts he set to work picking cherries, dropping them down so that they would land in as good a pile as they could manage from up above.

"Mmmkay." Faisal swallowed another mouthful before moving to try and grab some more, "Though these are better than plums any day." He quipped lightly, "How much trouble do you think we'd get in if we tried painting the hallway with them again?" He enjoyed his 'tribal paintings' that he could make with the different fruits though the adults didn't seem too thrilled with how sticky it made the walls...and then the one time that servant slipped down the stairs because of a plum he had forgotten about....well needless to say Faisal wasn't unaccustomed to hearing his name yelled through the manor. Though his brother seemed to answer the question by mentioning how they may have to scrub 'Suzu'. Pursing his lips in a pout Faisal sighed, "Aye, aye. I'll be more careful." Perhaps he would stick a few in a bag for later though. There was that old shed behind the gardens that he sometimes liked to target practice at. Watching Dair, Fai did his best to follow his brother's lead. Though admittedly his process was slowed by the fact that for every five cherries he tended to put at least one or two more in his own mouth.

Dair gave a pause, starring down at the cherries that he was holding, before giving one of them a squeeze that resulted in a lot of red 'paint' which had him grinning. It was really tempting, wasn't it? He looked over at his brother and said, "Oh! Probably a ton of trouble... but it's still tempting. These really do make the best paint given the nice, dark red you get when you squeeze them." Something that had him grinning from ear to ear just thinking about it, "Do we want to? Or should we paint the stone walk ways out here? Less of a risk of getting caught too early and before the art is finished." It was something to consider he thought to himself as he ate the cherry that he'd previously squished, licking off his hand, before he set to picking more of them to throw into the pile. It was growing slowly, but at least it was growing. Soon enough they would have enough to share with others, something that pleased Dair to no end. "Do we want to move on to the plums now?" He asked after throwing a good sized handful of them at the pile that sat below them. Best that they tried to move on to the next tree as he didn't want to get caught before the plums had been pilfered.

Ever so slowly Faisal's serene expression turned into an impish grin, "Right, right? Maybe they just need a bit of color on those old stone walls out back..." He tempted with an encouraging nod, "We can do that with those that aren't so perfect and give the others to everyone. That would be okay, right?" He could try drawing father's janarim and also draw some other cool beasts and things! He would try to draw his mama, but he needed blue for that and they didn't have any bushes that grew those rare berries that grandma got sometimes from that icy place to the north. As he tossed the final few cherries into the pile Fai nodded to his brother, "Sure! I think we have plenty of cherries~" He called out happily before drastically letting go of his branch, "Goodbye~" But just as he dropped the youngling caught a lower branch and swung from it before landing on his butt on the ground with an 'umph'. So it had seemed cool in his mind at the time, but now his butt was pretty sore. Wincing slightly the youngling shook his head before standing and carefully wiping his butt free of dirt, "Don't do that Dair - just uh....yeah." That was a bad idea.

Dair was instantly nodding his head, liking the idea of painting all over the walls and the stones that were within the walls of the garden. Surely they wouldn't get in trouble if they did their paintings outside, right? Not as though it ran as much risk of people getting sticky that way. At least it made sense in his mind and made him look forward to getting to paint alongside his brother. His brother was suddenly saying 'goodbye' to him and he watched him drop off his branch, to a lower one, and then... stuck a landing of sorts. He starred for a moment and then set to laughing as Fai told him not to do that, making him wonder how much it had hurt for Fai to land on his backside like that. If it was enough that his twin would advise him against it then it had to be bad. Instead he followed the first half of his twin's lead, dropping down from one branch, to the lower branch, then from there shifted so that he was hanging off it and shot for a landing on his feet instead of his butt. He landed, stumbled a bit, and then after flailing his arms for a moment was able to stay up right. Not graceful or cool at all... and he was pretty sure he'd landed on some cherries. Lifting up his feet one by one he found them stained in red... but decided he really didn't care. Red feet never killed anyone and it was barely noticeable given the color of his skin. Now if he'd gotten it in his hair on the other hand, that would have been different. Looking at his brother he asked, "Are we ready to get the next bit of fruit? If you didn't break your butt that is?"

Fai pursed his lips in frustration as his brother showed off what he had wanted to do, "Yeah, yea." The youngling glanced away sheepishly because even though his brother had struggled to remain cool at landing at least he hadn't bruised his rear, "I was just trying some new creative expression and I thought it would add to the landing...so of course I'm fine! Totally landed it....yep." A bunch of bad lies, but still he couldn't' let his pride get injured so easily! At least hopefully not as easily as his butt got injured just now. Though as he stood Faisal did wince. It would be a bit before he sat down on anything hard. The youngling touched his rear ever so slightly before moving past his brother, "Let's go get that fruit, Dair!"

"Ohhhh! Huh, I'd of never thought of that." Dair said, cocking his head to one side. So his brother had meant to land on his backside? He thought on it a moment and then said, "I bet that landing would work best when jumping off the back of the couch and trying to land sitting down on the cushions. Oh! Or on the bed too!" Jumping on the bed was too much fun even though they were always warned that they shouldn't do it or else they'd fall off and land on their heads. Giving a nod he said, "Alright, let's get going." He said, quick to gather up what fruit they had, carrying it over to where the plums were located, before dropping said fruit into a pile once more, "All the trees are looking good as far as fruit goes... so which one do we want to climb first?"
