Kieran stared down the ravine. Below him lumbered a few limbara, those bold enough to wander away from the main body of the herd that took refuge in the valley. In particular the man was interested in two very pale colored limbara that seemed to have a shimmer to their leathery skin. It was like a light blue that glimmered with specks of silver or violet when looked at from a certain angle. It’s been a while since I’ve tangled with anything this big...perhaps I should take a moment.

But before the thought could completely stop the man found himself slipping down the cliffside and causing a scene. At the noise the larger of the pair grunted and then stared him down as he tried to walk closer, “Sorry about that, didn’t mean to startle you…”

Ah, but it didn’t seem to matter to the limbara if it was an accident or no. Already the tense male was ready to charge down Kieran. Surprisingly fast for a typically slower creature the male reared its head and moved towards him. Cursing under his breath the beast tamer found himself twisting backwards as the heavy beast moved past him. That’s not typical at all.

As Kieran grabbed his whip he used it more defensively as he had to lash out to grab hold of a tree hanging over the edge. With his whip latched onto that the man was more secured so that he didn’t topple over by the next charge. Normally he could easily out maneuver such a large and slow beast, but in the narrow passage it was a bit tough. If not for the limbara’s attack then it was the rocks in the small path that cut out from the edges of the wall and bit into his sides. Wincing, Kieran rubbed at a sore spot as he took another step back.

“Alrighty then.” The Yaeli whistled through his teeth to try and catch the limbara’s attention before finding that the other one was right behind him. ”Seriously?” The man bit the inside of his cheek thoughtfully. How did one deal with two very angry limbara? If he was in the open plains then this would be a simple solution, but the cliffs didn’t really offer him much movement. So in a moment of desperation Kieran found himself taunting the limbara so that he could leap on a rock and jump over the beast and grab onto the root of the tree that was hanging over the cliff edge. Now all he had to do was move up and up while the limbara grunted angrily below.

One slip and I’ll be a flat Yaeli. That noted Kieran took very careful movements as he grabbed onto rocks and moved himself towards the top of the cliff. So much for observing the limbara and getting to know them better. His gaze lowered before he shook off the feelings of defeat. This was only the first try, there would be many more until he finally got it right. It wouldn’t be easy getting to his goal, but the man was determined. And determination would be key since he would have to keep fighting to get around these grumpy males and into their territory.
