Kai hated the rain. It ruined your clothes. It ruined your kicks. It ruined your hair. He valued these things and grumbled as he walked with Soliel. They both had duty work in the Life labs together and managed to get an umbrella. Enough people had warned them not to walk the grounds alone and he wasn't in the mood for another lecture from some p***k.
"They need to fix this." He said in the same tone someone might argue about the landlord not fixing the elevator.
As he walked with her, head practically in the umbrella, he noticed something. "What's that?"

Soleil actually used to like the rain, but she was fairly certain she'd seen enough of it now to last the rest of the year, and maybe the next as well. She was sick of everything being damp all the time. Sick of her jacket never quite drying all the time, and sick of her hair not cooperating. Occasionally, very very rarely, there was a smidge of sun, but those occurrences were so few and far between that it was easy to forget they had happened at all. Keeping beneath the umbrella was a little bit of a challenge. Kai was a big man, and Soleil wasn't exactly dainty. It meant keeping very close to him in a bid to keep the rain off her head, and there was a lot of shoulder and arm bumping. "They do," she agreed, though it wasn't as if she thought it'd be easy. She'd been at the meeting, and she'd heard the theories on how this had happened, and the plans on how they might go about trying to fix it. The question had her humming curiously, head moving so she could follow the line of his sight, and she blinked as she took in what looked to be... "Is that a giant crab?" She tilted her head, squinting through the rain. "Made of water...?" s**t.

He squinted his eyes with her. "Kinda yeah....like clesr jello." Either the creature noticed it was being looked at or happened to be going there way, but he saw it get bigger and bigger.
"Sol, weapin the things coming." He loomed sround and saw they were still a walk to the dorms. "********. Fin can - there you are." The small trident appeared in his ither hand not holding the umbrella.
He fought bigger men but something supernatural always had him feeling nervous and he wanted to the buildings but it was already too late and too fast. He didn't want to die to water.
"Any ideas?"

Her weapon appeared a second or two after his, the big scythe making it hard to stay under the umbrella with him. Getting wet was inevitable at this point anyways, so she didn't make a fuss as she stepped out into the rain to give herself a little more room. The thing side stepping towards them was big, bigger than the both of them, but it sort of paled in comparison to the giant ******** centipedes they'd encountered in the Sahara. "We got this," she declared boldly, feet shifting apart on the wet concrete. "And if we need to call for help, 'least the buildings are right there. Someone'll come." Probably. She was fairly certain, at least. Certain enough to rush in to meet the damn golem head on. Swinging as she charged, Soleil brought the blades of the scythe down on an diagonal to slash through the mass of the crab. It cut though easily, almost no resistance, and she nearly stumbled as the blades came out the bottom, having expected the thing to be, well, meatier. He caught her with a leg before she managed to get her balance, but she hopped back out of reach quickly. HP: 37 DMG: 8 CHG: 1/3

Kai wasn't about to have yet another woman show hm up, and looking at Fin, decided that he guessed he was going to do a really stupid thing and attack what looked like watery, clear Jello.
Moving after her, though not as quick, he lunged forward and tried to really get what he was doing. He had never attacked anything this big before, so he was left overwhelmed at the sheer size of it before he swiped at a leg, stepping back quickly as it moved to the left and wondered if there was any point. It was just a crab - and it was water. A magic water crab. All points of it made no sense to fight.
"How we know it dead? It just water!" He called out to her, moving closer. HP: 37/40 Dmg: 3 Charge: 1/3 Collective Damage: 11 BOSS HP: 14/25

"I don't know!" That was a very good question. "Maybe when it stops being a crab and goes back to just water?" This was the trainees first real experience with the golems, so his guess was as good as her's on what happened if they managed to kill it. If you even could kill it. They'd find out, she supposed. She went in for another swipe of the scythe, but one of the legs of the damn crap swept out as she got close to her, knocking her right off her feet and causing the blades of her weapon to go wide, barely nicking the side of the thing. "Damnit!" HP: 34 DMG:1 CHG: 2/3 Boss HP: 13/25

"If nothing happens after a while, we book it." He said, looking over at her to see if she was on the same page before he was tossed onto his back and skidded like a slip and slip in a muddy puddle.
Groaning, he got up, his white coat now dark brown.

That seemed like a very smart idea, that Soleil would have happily agreed to, had Kai not been sent flying before she'd had a chance to answer. "Kai! Are you okay?" He was getting up, that was a good sign. "Merde..." It's attention had shifted to her, and she had to jump to the side to avoid the worst of a wildly swinging leg. As her feet landed, she brought her scythe down for another quick swipe. HP: 31 DMG: 2 CHG: 3/3 BOSS HP: 11/25

He dove again and swore.
"How many legs I gotta jumo from before I can hit this shrimp??!!!"
Frustrated, he charged but wound up going under it as it moved and to the other side close to Soleil.
"I'm gettin schooled by a walkin food dish."

Kai was getting frustrated, blocked at every turn and soaked to the bone at this point. Soleil winced as she watched him go down again. "Try a different angle, handsome!" Though with his range, verse the range of the thing they were fighting? Maybe he could muscle his way in. "Punch it in the face, dude!" It was worth a try, she figured, just before she took a leg to the abdomen that knocked her off her feet. HP: 28 DMG: nope CHG: 2?/3 Boss HP: 11/25
