By now the General had come to terms with what had happened, he had accepted it. There was little he could do to reverse it, especially when some unknown force was involved in things. A power, that was huge, that he didn't know. He wasn't going to risk getting tangled up in things when he didn't have a full idea of this mess, didn't know all the players. The senshi were just that - low ranking senshi.
He was moving on from it, cutting his losses, but that didn't mean he didn't need to report it and didn't need to find out whatever he could about this situation. He had obligations and one of them was to report such things, this wasn't some little incident.
Walking down the halls, the trails of fabric fluttering and swirling behind him, as he made his way to Laurelite's throne room. He had a written report, done in his small and neat handwriting, but he was hoping to discuss things one on one rather than just turning in some sort of paper. It was impersonal and considering the matter it seemed inappropriate, he also wanted to see if there was any knowledge for him to gain from their Queen.
Knocking on the chamber doors, after taking a calming breath, he pushed the door open. "Queen Laurelite." Calling out into the darkness as he stepped just inside the room and closed the door behind himself. "I have a report for you - we may have a slight problem as well." Turning around as he spoke he dropped to one knee, facing the large expanse of room. He waited, his eyes focused ahead of him, on one knee. She would address him when ready and he would present to her what had happened, and he would do so in a calm and collected manner. There was no room for emotions here, not that he had much to show in the way of emotions at this moment.

Laurelite was working at her desk, as she often was. Her new power meant she could work for far longer than she could have before, and she seemed to be making good use of this skill. When the door pushed open, she sat up straighter; she continued to write, but her eyes immediately found Benitoite. “General,” she greeted. “So good to see you.” Only, he didn’t give her the impression that this was going to be a good meeting. Her smile lingered, but there was a very obvious seriousness about her expression, her posture. She sat her pen down and gave him her full attention. “You can approach,” she insisted. “Bring me the report. What’s happened?”

"It's good to see you as well." Greeting the other lightly as he moved over to a chair to seat himself. He might have gotten over the pain but he still felt a bit drained, a seat was much needed. The report, typed up rather than hand written, was laid on the desk.
"Apparently Bazzite met with some senshi, a group of four, not long ago. I was unaware of this as well as the conversation which they had." He started off, not at all pleased if the tone of his voice was any indication. "Over a week back I was out with Bazzite to collect energy, and starseeds." He knew it was bad that he'd waited a week but he also was sure Laurelite would understand, once he explain what had happened, she was an understanding individual.
"We got cornered by the four of them on a rooftop and Bazzite went to them - begged them not to hurt me while he asked them to save him. Apparently he had spoken to them about it the last time they met....he betray me and us." Speaking to the enemy and planning something, how it had happened was a mystery to him. It was obviously done with the other in his more human form. Thankfully he had told Laurelite about the necklace Bazzite had, and what it did, so the only answer to Bazzite's betrayal was having done it while under the influence of the necklace.
"The four of them, and some unknown person of great power, turned Bazzite into a knight...a Cosmos knight." Since he'd seen them before, though only a time or two, he could remember the general colors and appearance of the uniforms. "It would seem that senshi have the ability to turn youma into knights." And now he fell silent and he waited - he watched.

Laurelite tilted her head as she listened to Benitoite; her smile faded somewhat. A ghost of it lingered on her face, perhaps out of habit, but in that moment she seemed as though the importance of the topic had relaxed her facial muscles. For a long moment, she was quiet as she glanced over the paper he had provided. Finally, quietly, she said, “How unbecoming, and how unfortunate. This is the second report I’ve received of a group of Senshi reversing a youmafication. I am sorry to hear that you’ve lost your bonded youma.” She looked over him, as if trying to judge if he was all right, but continued, “Bazzite was a good agent. I was sorry to hear that he had been youmafied, but I am sorrier to hear that he has been lost to us. I suppose that is the trouble with an item like that,” she mused, referring to Bazzite’s necklace. “…He couldn’t stand what he had become and drew himself away. Unfortunately, I know of no power that can reverse a damaged starseed, so I suppose we can thank the Senshi for fixing him, for us.” She tapped her finger on the desk thoughtfully. “It was probably easy to twist him away, if he was wearing the necklace. He probably missed the life he had before, and was so desperate to live again that he turned to them. It is not a reflection of you, or the Negaverse. It is a reflection of human selfishness. But, no matter. He is human again, yes?” she prompted. “If he is a Knight, that means there is a chance for us to rejoin us. If he is whole, with careful assistance, he can be returned to us. A Captain is better than a Youma, and perhaps Metallia will take pity on him and find some way to grant him more power. She rewards loyalty, after all. If he comes back, he can be forgiven. We can give him a better life, more than just that of a youma. We simply need to reach him before the White Moon sinks their hooks into him any further than they already have. Or,” she planted her elbows on her desk and laced her fingers together before resting her chin atop her hands. “Is there another course of action you would prefer to take?”

"It would seem like it. I did as much as I could to offer comfort and assurances when the that necklace was in play. I had no wish to lose him." He might have been a youma, something he regretted, but he served them all well...especially himself. This however, was not the time to dwell on such things. Something else had caught his attention.
"This is the second report of such happening. Who made the first report?" It was good to know that, perhaps he could talk to the other officer and compare notes, or at least see the report filed. It might be the same group, in which case perhaps they needed to be dealt with - swiftly. Leaving such a group around was not a good idea, not if they'd done this twice already.
"Yes, he likely missed many human things, things he was denied as a youma. Though he had told me, when under the influence of the necklace, that he didn't remember his civilian life before he became a youma. Anything I brought up...was new to him, things he had no connection to. I suspect he has no memories even now - that those could not be returned." Meaning he would be vulnerable and needy. On his own, without anyone but the other side. They had likely already sank their hooks into him, they would after all take him in - bleeding hearts that they all were.
"Considering it's already been over a week....and assuming he has been in the care of at least one person who serves the white moon. It is my conclusion that they've likely already sunk their claws into him, considering that he chose to join them, behind my back, as he did. I think he is lost to us...I think the only one with a chance to bring him back would be myself...and I do not believe that will work. It failed that night...given the time with them...I do not think I will hold any sway over him." Or if he had any it would be minimal...less than the ones who had saved him.
"Human nature is human nature - unavoidable...but that does not remove the fact that he did betray us and he put my life at risk that night. He is of no use to us alive." He knew the words which poured past his lips were condemning, he was condemning the other to death...and he was ok with it. The other had put his life at risk, he had no way to assure those senshi would not harm him. He only went by their word...and his own begging and pleading.
"I think he should be approached as an enemy and if found in a battle...capture him and deal with him separately. Make an example of him to any who might even consider betraying us." His piece said, his opinion given, he waited to see what their Queen would say - what she thought on the matter. He was going to harshest route he could, aside from forcefully corrupting him again or making him a youma once more. But either option...would lead to the same result - purification.

Laurelite seemed like she was debating what information she should share; finally, she relented and informed him, “General Leucite witnessed such a thing not so long ago. If you would like to speak with him you may, but he provided me with an extensive report. I’m seeing a lot of similarities. I must say though, General. I am rather surprised with your decision.” She tapped her fingers thoughtfully on her desk as she considered his suggestion. “While Metallia would agree that making an example of insubordination is pivotal in ensuring loyalty, I’m not sure this is a case we might be able to fairly argue. I have no doubt that someone may take sympathy with Bazzite. I mean, youmafiation is hard on anyone—even our partially youmafied officers struggle in their day to day. It is a difficult adaptation. To order death,” she shrugged. “I think he may be far more valueable to us alive. We don’t have much information on post youmafication. I would be interested to learn if he had any recollection of his experiences. Or, perhaps, if he can be encouraged to share information on the process that restored him to ‘human’. White Moon, or otherwise. He may be one of the very few that can give us that information. To kill him would be throwing away answers we may not receive otherwise. Answers that may make us stronger, in the long run. Or, to better understand how our enemy works. Don’t you agree?” she asked, smiling sweetly.

He could seek out his fellow General, not tonight though, and find out what he could from the other. He also could find a copy of the report to read, find out what the other had written down. There was no doubt the report would be well written and detailed, of that he was sure. He could, tonight, dig a copy of the report up and go through it. He had the time and the information contained within it might be useful to him.
His thoughts however were the Laurelite's words. He couldn't fully imagine how difficult being a youma, or a part youma, was but he really didn't think he'd be able to get Bazzite back into the fold...as an officer or as a double agent either. He couldn't trust someone who had willingly gone to the other side and put him in the middle of it - had him there for it with how many senshi.
"You make a point. Officers, even myself to a point, would sympathize with him. Being a youma, or even part youma, and relegated to living down here...it is no way to live and exist. My issue is with the betrayal and bringing me into the middle of it as he did. That he planned it and sought them out as he did. I do not think we could bring him back into the fold...and if we did - could we even trust someone who has already betray us once? We have no way to guarantee it."
Shifting in his seat he nodded his head, again, slowly to her words. "I agree. He is a source of such information, and perhaps more, if we can find someone he will talk to. I just don't know who...unless you are thinking of myself and doing similar to how I'd previously been doing - making friends on the other side. However, I don't know if in this case it would work or how much further I would need to take the act. He knows me well, if those memories remain, and no doubt would expect something like this from me." Bazzite, if he retained any of his memories of him, knew what he was capable of and knew what he'd done in the past and was willing to do. It was unlikely the other would trust him.
"Or have you some idea on how we can gather information from him? I'm all ears - to whatever you may be thinking."

Laurelite managed a shrug. “One of your flaws, General, is that you cannot seem to recognize that Bazzite was a youma. If I truly thought youma were capable of logical thought and could function in a capacity that you and I do, I can guarantee we would have more serving in our ranks. Would you punish a starving dog that ran to greet a stranger with food?” She offered him a moment to consider and then continued, “I do not forget the circumstances by which Bazzite met his youmafication. I’m certain you don’t, either. You two have always shared a deep bond. Do you think he would be so quick to throw it away? I find it difficult to believe that you carry no fondness for him. In fact, I find it difficult to believe that you are so keen to discard and kill him, General. If I were in your shoes, I would be making every effort to recover him, but.” She shrugged once more. “Perhaps that is only me. Sentimentality is as much of a weakness as it is a strength. You could use it to urge him back. I am forgiving, in most instances. In this case, Bazzite is more use to us alive than dead. You know him better than I. If you treat him with kindness and understanding, wouldn’t he open up to you?” Laurelite smiled sweetly, but there was no telling what thoughts danced in her head. “But it is up to you, of course, General. I trust you will make the right decision. As long as you can tell me how they are recycling our youma, I will be satisfied.”

"Logical thoguht I did not expect. I did expect loyalty....if not to myself than to the Negaverse." That was why the betrayal was a surprise to him. But Bazzite was a youma with thought, rather than just pure animal instinct, so he figured it was that combined with the necklace which had allowed for this to happen. Maybe though, maybe, the General Queen was right but maybe it wasn't just a flaw but his own emotions playing a role as well. He was hurt by the others betrayal and he was acting on it, without fully realizing it.
As she continued, his head lowered, no...there was no way he could or would ever forget how Bazzite had become a youma. He didn't think he could ever forget, that anything could rob him of that memory. He wished, back then, that something would but that wish had long fled. It was something which shaped him now, even as it made him suffer as it did now. "Perhaps...in my haste I have..." Trailing off for a moment, to think of his wording, the blond lifted his head slowly. "spoken more out of hurt and anger for the situation than with the calm I normally would. You are right - the bond we had was strong. It has been many years, even before my misstep which led him to become as he was."
His hands, fisted, were resting his lap. Calm as he normally was this whole thing touched so close to home, so close to his emotions, and while he wished for the calm the General Queen had...he knew he was not capable of them at the moment. A few breaths, as she spoke, brought him close though.
"You are correct, which does not surprise me, I do still carry a fondness for him." How could he not? They had been a team for how long? The other had lived under his roof for a time even.
"I can try to recover him, since he would not reenter as a youma. I do not know if I will be able to do so...but I can try. If nothing else I can...appeal to what memories he still holds of me - of our bond...and try to find out what I can in regard to what happened to him. It would, as you said, help us to learn about this. I will try and act as rationally, and calmly, as I normally would. I know now he is a knight of Cosmos...so I would assume he is to be brought into their fold...I will see what I can find out beyond that..." This would be no easy task for him, not with how emotional this whole thing had him, but he would do his best - as he always did.
"I just ask for time in this matter. I do not know what memories he will have and what I can use to play to his emotions in order to work him to my side again.." Either to convert him, again, or to gain information from him. "I will, as usual, do my best however." He just hoped his best would yield something useful to them.

Laurelite smiled again and seemed to relax in her throne. “Time is something I can readily grant,” she assured. “I would expect you to take as much time as you need. This is a delicate matter and should be handled with the upmost care. Especially given what has already transpired. But, you know how these things go.” She inclined her head politely. “Reports and updates when you can, that is all I ask. But you shouldn’t be too hard on yourself, or on him. Just bring me answers, and him, if you can. If you can’t,” she shrugged. “We’ll see what the future holds. But I am optimistic. I have faith in you.” There was something insistent about her smile, something that could have been dangerous. “I know you won’t let me down.”
