As far as patrols went, Lovejoy had seen better days. The teenager was still a bit antsy after her last run-in with a Moonie, so the thought of patrolling had been... well, it hadn't been. It had taken a lot of self-pep talk to get her to henshin, much less out in the field to scout the city for some potential energy draining. But there she was, in all of her frilly, costumed glory as dark boots crept their way down the dark sidewalk. She'd chosen to wait until the shadow of night could help keep her shrouded from the jerks that roamed the city... but that made for really poor energy gathering, as no one else was out that late. Crap.

Sailor Thisbe still wasn't really feeling it either. She'd been mostly miserable since Arachne had chastised her-- not because he'd been wrong in doing so, but because he'd had to at all. It was miserable to think about and it put a damper on everything that involved powering up because what if she did something to disappoint him again? Not powering up and refusing to patrol would make things worse, though, so she'd opted for just doing it anyways to get her butt in gear and out of the apartment. The city was strange at night. Darkness still came later, thanks to the summer, but as the street lights came on and the shadows grew longer various things that went bump in the night came out-- chaos tainted soldiers and senshi alike as well as their youma. She could feel one now, some distance away, wondering idly whether or not they were the attack first and talk later sort or not. It was always best to assume so, she'd discovered, but that wasn't going to keep her from investigating... So in that direction she went.

Likewise, the aura that appeared had Lovejoy tensing - this wasn't good. This really wasn't good. Whatever it was lurking in the shadows, she'd much have preferred to find Bigfoot or Dracula or anything else monstrous that didn't have that distinct, grimy Moonie feeling to it. "Stay back!" She called out, trying to make her voice appear much tougher than she felt. "I'm... I'm dangerous!!!" Maybe if she scared off the oppressor, the aura would fade away without any issue??

Thisbe paused 'round the corner from the chaos signature so that she could tug her hood up over her head. She liked to think that it made her seem more imposing and mysterious-- and it may have, honestly, if it hadn't been for the light coloration and the terrible fishnets. She also took that moment to remove her gloves, leaving them discarded on the street before rounding the corner towards the quavering voice. "You almost had me convinced, you know-- about the dangerous bit. A little more projection in your voice, just a little more sternness in your tone? Absolutely." A light smirk was on her lips, head tilted up just enough that she could see the girl from beneath the shadow of her hood. "I'm afraid that since you weren't all that convincing with your words I'm not going to just disappear, so you'll simply have to show me how dangerous you are."

The voice was feminine... okay, well, that meant she probably wouldn't try to break her wrist like the last senshi attempted. Maybe. Hopefully? Still, it chose to mock her and Lovejoy didn't appreciate that. She was trying to give them both an out but it seemed like this senshi, too, was ready for a fight instead. Crap. Crap, crap, crap.As the woman rounded the corner, exposing her hooded self, LJ stared at her blankly. Was she... trying to be some sort of reaper? Why the hood? Senshi got hoods? Why didn't she get a hood? This was so not fair. Hands clapped together and she spread her legs apart. Fingers twirled in the air, index fingers spinning around and around, as if she were going to fingerbang in the woman's direction at any moment. Really, she sort of was, but the lady didn't need to know that. "I like the hood," she called out to her, lifting her chin as her pigtails bobbed, "You trying to hide your ugly mug or something with it?"

"Why don't you come closer and I'll show you what I'm hiding." Her arms crossed over her chest as she took an uncertain step back at the finger guns. She wasn't entirely sure what the senshi was the senshi of, or what she had to do in order to fire off her attacks and that put her at a disadvantage. "I do generally prefer to at least have a name before I show off, though. I like to know whose butt I'm going to kick."

"I-I'm okay over here," Lovejoy called back, not making any motion to move forward. If the senshi in front of her was bragging about showing off, it must mean that they were at least pretty experienced when it came to using their own powers. Or fists. Y'know, whichever. At the request for a name, the younger girl hesitated. Some magical beings would use names against you, if you stumbled across the wrong creature. It wasn't like a Rumpelstiltskin sort of scenario but finding a fae or trouble creature impersonating a senshi could be just as bad, really. "You're... not gonna use it for nefarious purposes, are you?" Then again... if it was a creature impersonating a senshi, would they care to tell her the truth? It wasn't like the myth where cops had to tell you if they were cops when you asked - fae went by their own rules.

"Mm... I might. We fae folk are notorious for using names against others, but I'll give you mine just the same as a gesture of good will. Sailor Thisbe, Senshi of Woe." The senshi before her seemed young; possibly young enough that she might not recognize Thisbe as a name from one of the Bard's great works... Or she might, if she was closer to highschool and they'd been introduced properly to Shakespeare. "What's the worst that can happen if you give me your name, hm?"

She gave the woman a scowl as she independently brought up the subject of faes. Clearly she knew something - maybe even was trying to trick her - but then offered a name and a sphere as a so-called gesture of good will. Hmph. How did LJ even know if it was a real name or not? "Fine." Her feet spread out, fingers still spinning but at a slower rate. Her mind was racing as to what to do... well heck, what did she have to lose, at this point? Offering a grin, pigtails bobbed as she announced, "I'm Lovejoy. Senshi of... Confusion!" Suddenly her fingers pointed in the direction of the opposing senshi and her spell was cast. Skye Starrfyre Confusion! Spinning her finger in a circular motion, Lovejoy's attack strikes once her finger stops and points in her opposition's direction, shooting out into a swirly (yet directionally straight) line that goes out to a maximum of 10ft. If the attack is successful in its strike, it forces them under a momentary wave of confusion as to the current situation. This lasts for the duration of 1 RP post, the power waning and possibly still leaving the opponent disoriented for the 2nd RP post. Attack can pertain to however the opposing player wills it - confused as to where they are, why they are fighting, who they are, etc. This attack only affects 1 individual. x3 usage.

The attack didn't look threatening-- at least not in a deadly or violent sort of way. It did in the sense that it was coming straight for her, however, even as it swirled and whirled in a way that was entirely disorienting. It hit her and her hear froze in her chest, skipping a beat before picking back up again as she stumbled forward in her confusion. The lurching motion sent her hood sliding down, hand reaching for the other senshi in an attempt to steady herself. Something didn't make sense. Lots of things didn't make sense... But on the tip of her tongue lingered three words and she spoke them in hopes that they would help her. " Veil of woe?" Ghouliboo Attack #1 - Veil of Woe! - Woe lands a successful touch attack after removing one of her gloves, lowering her hood to gaze at her opponent. Effects: For a brief moment Woe's opponent (singular) views her as someone close to them in grievous distress, be it a situation from one of their memories or the situation they are currently in (about to be attacked). This is meant to be a disorienting attack. It can also work without her hood, but the effect always seems more powerful when they don't see her face first. Duration: Instantaneous; wearing off after one post. Avoidable: If her touch is avoided, yes. If her touch lands, no. Downside: Woe must get close to her enemy to use this attack, leaving herself wide open to being hurt if she can't move quickly enough to daze them.

She was about to pride herself on another smooth getaway (not that she really ever had one smooth one to count as a getaway in the first place) when the other senshi called down her attack.
Lovejoy froze, internally tensing herself for the incoming pain....which never arrived.
No, no pain arrived...but somehow, during all of this mess, Kibirev had???
The innocent senshi looked distressed, as if someone had brought harm upon one of her closest friends. Panicked, her hands reached out towards the other girl as she implored, "Kibby?? Are you okay??"

Kibby? Was that her name? Was that.....? No. She was someone else. Something else. She was... Her head was fuzzy and she honestly didn't know exactly what was going on. Her hand fell away from the other girl's wrist as she stepped back, bringing her hand up to rub at her face, fingertips sliding over her temples. She stumbled slightly as she took another uncertain step backwards, brow furrowed even as the haze began to lift from her mind. Whatever it was she'd thought would happen when she decided to patrol earlier that night, this certainly wasn't it. "No. I'm not okay... That's not... That's not who I am. I'm me." Not Kibby. She wasn't Kibby. She was Thisbe. Thisbe. She was Sailor Thisbe, Senshi of Woe... And she was going to get the hell out of there while she still knew that. Swatting the young girl's hand away as it reached for her, Sailor Thisbe turned tail and ran.

Why....why was Kibirev leaving? Lovejoy's face fell, arms outstretched as the girl turned and ran away. "Wait....come back!" But her voice fell on deaf ears, the Kibby-not-Kibby deciding she had better to do than stick around and wait for her. Aw. It would take a few more blocks before the realization would dawn on her that the girl had been a doppelganger, the thought making her blood freeze. Who knows what the monster would have done if LJ had followed after her? Probably eaten her. The thought brought little comfort as she powered down and ran home - without looking back.
