Getting ready for the start of the fall semester had taken more prep that Penelope would have cared for. With her negaverse duties the woman had fallen minorly behind in her careful manipulation of her fanboys (and girls) and didn't have as many people to use to get her supplies as needed.
To her annoyance, Penelope had to gather her own books for what would be her second to last semester before graduation. She had flown through her courses with ease and really just needed to work on her thesis which she had been picking at between her racy novels.
Of course the start of the school year meant that her regular job had started up again and today was one of the days that she worked a full s**t at the library. Unfortunately, she had forgotten her lunch which was frustrating in itself. Luckily, she had a cute recent graduate she was pretty sure she could convince to bring her lunch.
[Text to Daph: Hey cutie :* you wanna come visit me for lunch?]
The text was sent and her phone placed face down as she continue to input new books into the system.

Daphne wasn’t really sure if she was quite ready for college yet. She knew she could handle the academic side of things, or at least she thought that she could, it was the whole aspect of…learning to live on her own and become a functional adult that was part of the problem. …But the school work wasn’t a good thought. Let’s be real. She had been so utterly ready to walk across that platform and get her diploma…she didn’t want to deal with more schooling right away…but she had already been accepted into DCU.
So she was at least going to make a go at it, no matter how pathetic that go was.
She had been in the process of unpacking her dorm, trying to get things organized when the text came, and it left the purple haired girl feeling utterly delighted. She grinned and tucked a stray strand of hair behind her ear, pausing and letting out a laugh, texting back after only a few minutes.
[Text to Penny: You know I always want to visit you. Though I suppose you expect me to buy us lunch. You owe me…what do you want? I’ll be there in half an hour or so.]
Honestly, Daphne was very glad for the break that this would be offering. She missed being able to see Penny on a daily basis…and could really use the advice of the older girl about college. If anyone would know what she might need or want to do it would be her.
Most likely.
Hopping off her bed, Daphne headed for the car, and for Penny.

The buzzing of her phone across the desk alerted her to a response with Penelope picking up the device and smiling when she saw the response. Good old Daphne knew exactly what to say to please the blonde.
[Text to Daph: If you don't mind cutie (; Maybe some kinda noodles? You know I'll make it worth the visit <3 ]
It hadn't exactly been long since she'd seen her little flower, but it had been long enough that Pen was certain Daph would be missing her. Even with meetings in their other guises it had been hit and miss when it came to getting together.
Penelope had a lot of responsibilities between work, school, and extra curriculars. Daphne was settling into what should have been her first year at uni. That, at least, meant they'd see each other on campus most likely.
With some thought she sent off an additional text.
[Text to Daph: Looking forward to seeing you :double heart emoji:]

Some kind of Noodles it was. Daphne grinned and went to the nearest Noodle store, ordering three different types, just in case they were feeling picky, as well as a side of meatballs just because she liked the slightly spicy, gooey sauce that they were in. Finally she made her way back to her former school, entering the library just as her thirty minutes were up.
Grinning, the former student made her way over to the main check out desk and plopped the bag full of food on top of it. “Shall we eat here, or do you want to go elsewhere? I hope you have something to drink, because now that I’m here, I realize I didn’t even think of that. I missed you. You look stunning, as always, Pen.”
She pushed the bag towards the blonde and shook her head slightly, trying to get the stray bits of hair from out of her face. Perhaps now that she was an ‘adult’…it was time to ditch the pigtails…but she just liked them.
Maybe next year she would find a new style. Maybe. “How have you been?”

Waiting wasn't something Penelope cared for, but she was well practiced in the art of it. If she wasn't a person who played the game of life with precision and care, she might have gotten irritable or frustrated at the length of time it took for Daphne to come to her.
But, the girl showed up in the time frame she had posed and it was nice to be in the company of someone who more or less worshiped her.
Those were her favorite kind of people after all.
"Well hey cutie," she greeted, rising from her chair with both palms pressing against the edge of her desk. "There's juice and soda in the office." She'd bartered for a mini fridge to be put in a while back. "Let's eat in there," she suggested, plucking the away from desk plaque and setting it atop the counter before confidently strolling away, expecting Daphne to be trailing behind her.
"I'm better, now that you're here," she offered, throwing a smile back towards her companion before reaching with a hand for hers. "Have you missed me?"

“Sounds wonderful, Penny.” Daphne followed, grabbing the bag once more and glancing around. It wasn’t…strange to be back in the library…it was just strange to be back and not be a student still. Perhaps she was just not…used to it all.
“Missed you? Who, me? Why would I have missed you, Pen? You’re not very…missable.”
It was a lie, of course, and she figured that Penelope would know that regardless of her words that she had, in fact, missed her a lot. But, she couldn’t just continue to be the simpering, clinging senior who was crushing hard on the attractive, confident librarian…she was in college now. She was cooler than she was, and she had to act it.
Besides, people didn’t want clingy girls. It was gross.
“Anyway, I hope you like noodles, because I bought a lot.” She was sophisticated. She was cool. She was the noodle bearer. “…Did you miss me?”
…She was hopeless.

Pen thought it was cute that Daphne was attempting to hide how she felt about the librarian. It was obvious, from the eagerness of the texts and the fact that she'd come to visit without a fuss, with food as requested, were enough signs to tell her that her precious Daph was still wrapped around her finger.
She had been worried, initially, when the purple haired teen had graduated, because the inability to see her regularly and keep tabs was bound to cause a drift. But, it appeared she had nothing to worry about and she was pleased about this knowledge.
"Come on Daph, you don't need to lie to me." She quipped, lacing their hands together and squeezing reassuringly. "It's okay to miss me," she paused, stilling in her confident and well practiced gait to look at her companion. Slowly licking her lips, she dragged her teeth softly across her bottom lip. "I missed you too, s'why I asked you to come see me."
Blue eyes blinked and she stepped forward, heels clicking on the tile, until she could press her lips against Daphne's cheek.
"Come on Daph, we've got some catching up to do," she informed her, continuing on their way until they reached the office.

Daphne's heart fluttered wildly as Penelope took her hand, and her eyes were drawn to the blonde’s lips her stomach doing stupid flopping movements as she suddenly remembered the stolen kisses behind the bookshelves from last year and the effort she had put in to making Penelope proud of her…even if she were trying to be aloof…it was starting to seem utterly impossible when it was Penny.
“All right. Fine. I missed you. A lot. But I mean…it’s not like I don’t see you often enough…I just…no, that’s a lie. I don’t see you often enough and it sucks.” All of her carefully composed nonchalance crumbled the moment they stepped through the office door.
They were equals now…there was no more moonstruck student with a terrible crush on the attractive librarian…she was a graduate who was…still just as moonstruck for the attractive librarian. “…We going to make out, because I swear, I wouldn’t be opposed to it, Penny. I missed that almost as much as I missed your pretty face.”
There…perhaps that would at least make her seem less…
Dumb.

The girl was drawn into the office and the door was shut behind them, Penelope's hand turning the lock so they wouldn't be interrupted without notice. The bag of food was carefully extracted from the younger woman's hand and set on the desk in the room that she leaned up against.
Her hand left Daphne's but was used, in tandem with her other one, to draw the girl towards her.
A playful grin was on Pen's mouth when she purposely looked from lips to eyes. "You know if you want to see me, you just have to ask Daph." Her voice dropped to something low and sultry. "You don't have to play coy with me."
Fingers hooked beneath the girl's chin to tip it up as she pushed herself up onto the desk to allow Daphne to step between her thighs if she wanted.

Daphne watched the door close and get locked with a feeling of glee and excitement coursing through her. Penny wasn’t disappointing her at all…and this meeting was shaping up in exactly the way she had wanted it to. Gone were her worries about school and everything else that was bothering her…right now everything was just…just Penny. And that was the way she wanted it to stay.
“I don’t want to seem like I’m still the stupid infatuated student that I was up until a few months ago. I have to keep a good reputation around you or you’ll get bored of me, Pen…I’m not stupid.”
She closed the distance between them, fitting herself perfectly between the older girl’s thighs, as the space was so obviously offered to her, and leaning forward, she stole a quick kiss, relishing the feeling of Penny’s lips against hers.
“If I’m not interesting…what is there for me, you know?” She reached up, placing her own hand against the librarian’s cheek, caressing it lightly with her fingers. “So…I have to keep working on ways to stay…interesting.”
Her heart was pounding wildly against her chest…and she was quite sure that she could keep up this tough girl act for maybe another minute and a half…and then everything would just utterly be ruined. She was so utterly weak for this blonde seductress…and perhaps that was an okay thing to be.

"I don't mind if I'm all you can think about Daph," Pen replied, reaching for the woman's face to push her hair back. Finger tips gently stroked the girl's cheeks and she smiled softly. It was the truth, the ultimate goal of the blonde being that person that people couldn't shake from their thoughts.
Her kiss was welcome, serving to broaden the smile on her lips as Penelope settled her arms around the girl's shoulders.
"If you insist on finding new ways to surprise me," she said slowly, leaning forward to press lips softly against her throat, "then I look forward to them." Light laughter filled the air when she drew back, purposely licking her lips slowly while looking at Daphne's.
"Come on Daphne, how about we stop worrying about me getting bored of you and spend more time having you show me how much to miss and like me?"

Daphne let out a little, almost sheepish grin and nodded, glad that Penny wasn’t laughing or otherwise making her feel foolish for her actions at all. And the way her beautiful aquamarine eyes lingered on Daphne’s lips caused the purple haired girl to tremble slightly, especially after the feeling of Penny’s lips on her throat.
“I missed you terribly, I…I don’t think I want to have that long in between our visits again, if that’s okay. I mean, I get things were busy with me graduating and starting DCU but…”
She moved closer, Her hands wrapping themselves around the older woman. “I need you. I think you’re the most beautiful person in this whole city, and every time I power up I just…I think about you all of the time.”
So much for keeping cool. For being adult. Independent. She pressed her lips to the blonde’s once more, hoping that if she started kissing…maybe Penelope would forget what an infatuated child that she was.

Her laughter was bright when it spilled from her lips, the way Daphne admitted her feelings making Penelope happy. A beautiful fly caught in her web, the purple haired girl was a treat to have wrapped around her finger and she took great pleasure in the admission.
"Mm, sounds like you're gonna have to make a little more effort to make sure my attention is yours more often," she cooed, hooking a finger beneath Daphne's chin. "But, it's good that you're always thinking about me," she purred, allowing herself to be kissed and pulling back only for some breathless laughter.
"Makes me feel special Daph, don't you like making me feel special?" She asked, making sure that worry crossed her expression when she moved to brush some of the pale bangs back, finger tips trailing down the side of her face.
"S'what you want right? To make me feel special and happy?"

Daphne nodded fervently, looking at Pen with what could only be described as a kicked puppy look in her eyes. “I’ll try to make more time for you. Of course I like making you feel special…there’s no one else in the whole world who I want to feel more special than you…you’re…perfect.” She reached out, clasping her arms around the older woman’s chest and wishing the kiss had gone longer.
And hadn’t been broken with a laugh. It made her feel quite self conscious. “What can I do to make you feel special and happy right now? We should eat first…before the food gets cold…but then…”
She hesitated, leaning close and pressing her own lips to Penelope’s throat, murmuring as she rested them there. “Then maybe I can do whatever you’d like me to for a while…just to make sure you don’t forget me…and to make sure that I’m still your favorite…because I had better be your favorite, Pen…I had better be…”
Daphne knew there were others. Knew there would always be others…but so long as she held the place of honor…or even a place of honor…she was content to share.

"I have some ideas," Penelope replied, leaning in to kiss her chastely before she coaxed her back, still keeping her hand touching some part of Daphne, to keep her close. "But you're right, let's eat."
That had been the point of getting her sweet toy to come visit after all.
"Then I'll let you show me your appreciation with desert, mkay?" She let out a pleased noise when her throat was kissed. "Course you're my favorite Daph."
Pen moved to play with loose hair and twirl it around her finger. "M'not gonna forget you, promise." The back of her knuckles ran against her face one more time before she was reaching for the food to set it out for both girls to eat.
Afterwards, well, Pen was going to have a delightful time letting Daphne remind her of her affection.
