Chione had slept rather fitfully, and she found herself up early, quietly slipping from the room she was in and walking out into the hallway, stretching slightly and grimacing at how tired she was. Well. It was to be expected, she supposed.
She walked for a few minutes down the hall, glancing around at the different pictures, and blinked as she saw someone ahead…it was the other eternal, the one with the glasses. For a moment, Chione wondered if she should just leave him be, but something made her take a few steps closer and raise a hand in greeting. “Hey. I…don’t think you and I have been introduced. Which…isn’t really surprising, since I haven’t been very active in the court at all…but I’m Chione. The senshi of blizzards. It’s…it’s nice to meet you, and I apologize for making you uncomfortable the other day, that wasn’t my intention, honest.”
Swallownig, the senshi held out her hand, hoping that perhaps she could come out of all of this with some other tie to the court, besides her brother, Remarque and Acubens.

Avior's own sleep came surprisingly easy after he and Crocus decided to push the beds together. As strong as he was physically, he was still frail of heart, and the moment they parted the company of the rest of their court and the Queen, he began to panic in the quiet way he did. Mind racing, heart pounding, all in the confines of their shared bedroom. But as with all things, it passed, undoubtedly helped by Crocus' soft and kind words, and he slept well against his friend, holding tightly onto the other's hand throughout the night.
Once morning came, he rose, and went out and about before the other woke up, on a search for some rhyme or reason to why the food was so awfully bland, and to see if there was any way to liven up the taste... Even the mention of bitterness from the queen would have been preferred to just... Nothing. His search, sadly turned up empty handed, and while he was heading back to his room, pockets full of edible crystals, he was stopped by someone he only faintly recognized.
Ah, it was the young woman from the first night they were there. Out of politeness and nothing more, he stopped before her, giving her a rather inexpressive look but still taking her hand and giving it a small shake. Yes, he was easily offended, and vindictive for things, but it was not her who decided to act like a blatant fool.
"Avior, Senshi of Walls. And it wasn't so much making me uncomfortable, Chione, but rather it seemed as if the entire situation wasn't taken seriously. Your actions, and that of that rather irresponsible Eternal Acubens who you fluttered around were certainly not well timed in the least." He said plainly, dropping her hand lightly before crossing his arms across his chest. "Honestly, I wouldn't have even mentioned it had that girl not jumped down my throat as if I had done something that would have ruined our lives. I would say I wish she learned some discretion from the whole ordeal, but she's far too wrapped up in her own mind to have done so, I'm sure. Especially if she's in cohorts with that hotted headed princess as well."
A moment passed as he looked beyond Chione, to the walls behind her and the hallways that twisted and turned. Briefly he almost hoped Acubens would round the corner so he could say these things to her face. Alas, she did not, and his stern gaze relaxed slightly as he looked back down at Chione.
"Tensions are high enough without infighting. I hope, even with your lack of activity within our ranks you can realize this. And perhaps carry yourself with more dignity and finesse than that mouthy and overly aggressive senshi you deemed worthy enough to follow. And I do also hope that you understand that just because you have affections for someone, doesn't mean they make the best decisions for you, and for the others you must fight beside."

Chione looked a little sheepish, wishing that she had pockets in her fuku. It would have made it more comfortable when the handshake ended and suddenly she was confronted by the taller male crossing his arms…well, she didn’t want to fight. She did understand how detrimental infighting could be—she had a twin for goodness sakes. You got along a lot better by…well, getting along.
“You’re…talking about Leto…? I think that’s her name. She’s the one who brought me into this, ages and ages ago…but we don’t really talk…honestly that’s the first time I’ve seen her since she brought my brother into the court after me…I just.”
Maybe it was better to let the conversation drop. “I don’t know. I wasn’t trying to think of bad timing. I was proud of myself for coming to see what was going on. For caring enough, and she just…” She what? Abandoned her for Leto and those others at dinner? Didn’t show up last night? Didn’t give a damn if she was here or not.
“You’re right. It was the wrong place and time, and I’m sorry.” Suddenly she was glad that all she had to eat was rocks. The thought of Acubens right now was doing nothing to make her feel better. “What do you think’s going on? You’re an eternal, so maybe…have you gone through anything like this before? What sort of place is this…? I’m…kind of regretting being bold and brave, if I’m going to be honest with you…”

"I cannot blame you for what happened. I know the need for comfort and reassurance is immense in stressful situations. As I said, I would not have bothered to bring it up had she not insist I was in the wrong for telling the queen what little information I had. I'm quiet, for certain, but I am no mat to be walked all over." He didn't want to think of that eternal anymore. Not when this young woman certainly seemed to be in need of guidence and she clearly wasn't going to find anything of the sort going to Acubens, atleast that's what he thought.
For a moment, he seethed internally, then let it go with a sigh, his expression softening as he pushed thoughts of the woman to the back of his head to focus on the senshi before him.
"You know... I think you are in the right to be proud of coming to check out what happened. It's not something everyone would do. Some cannot, some choose not to, thinking it's not their problem. I truly appreciate your selflessness in that regards. There's no need to apologize." His arms unfolded from before his chest, one resting on his hip and the other adjusting his glasses slightly in thought at Chione's question...
"I'll be honest with you as well, I've been through much, but this is new to me as well. Certainly not the most distressing thing I've ever been through, but it is still unsettling... I can't help but wonder how come the Queen hasn't quite been around much after the meal.. And I do wonder what would happen if we tried to step through mirrors here. I have not tried, however. Have you tried anything of the sort?"

She was relieved when the subject of conversation moved past her girlfriend, and even more relieved when he seemed to be honestly interested in what she had to say, and she felt honestly a little proud at the small bit of praise she had offered…because…it had been a big deal. She could have ignored the strange mirror…should have ignored it, but…that was another thought for another time…but she—Chione had gone headfirst into whatever danger awaited them…and had been excited to do so.
Pulling herself out of her own thoughts, the senshi frowned. “Wait, this isn’t the most distressing thing you’ve been though? Then what the heck have you been through, because this is about a nine point three out of ten on the distressing scale for me…I mean, we almost died out there and now we’re trapped…”
There was an edge of fear in her voice that she hadn’t quite been able to master, and perhaps it was showing its ugly head because she was tired and just…felt alone. Stuck in this castle…she should have sought to share a room with Elsa…but she had really thought that Acubens would have joined her but…
Well. That wasn’t important. “I’ve looked at some of the mirrors around here…but they all look…I don’t know. They don’t look normal? I poked a few and nothing really happened. My fingers just tapped the glass.”

"There were... Well, There were times where I saw people die before me. Not powered individuals like you or I, no, these were civs... And they were hanged right before my eyes, as I stood there helpless. That is not the case now. We are safe, relatively speaking, and we are alive, and for that I am grateful. " Perhaps it wasn't the best of times to be bringing that up, but Avior figured to put the entire situation in perspective would be good for both of them, even if it brought minor comfort to them.
When he heard the fear in her voice, Avior instinctively placed a hand on her shoulder, giving her a gentle, apologetic smile. He hadn't meant to frighten her, and if it was not his fault her fear was there, then he still wished to make it better. No one should face fear alone.
"It is strange... Maybe these mirrors aren't connected to the same space as ours are. After all, I have learned we cannot make it to mirrors that aren't on other planets. When I was still in the White Moon Court, I made it to my planet, and there were Mirrors in one of the great towers there. Once I came to join this court, I found that I could not mirror walk to them. They were too far out of reach..." There was his own sad tinge to his voice. It seemed like a lifetime ago when he stood on the massive crumbling walls on his planet.
"That doesn't sound to unreasonable... I suppose then we just need to find a sort of power enhancer to allow us to go through the mirrors."

Chione’s eyes widened when he spoke of people being…hanged…that was…utterly horrifying.
Slowly she nodded. He was right; this…this wasn’t as bad as that…she hoped she would never have to deal with something that bad. The hand on her shoulder had her glancing at him again and trying to smile. He seemed like a nice guy, friendly enough, at least.
“You…you were on the other side before? I awakened as part of the court, uh…it was Leto…a long while ago, but…you were able to go to your planet…? That sounds…I mean, that just…I know it’s not the best time, but maybe when we’re out of here you could tell me a little bit about it? That would…be quite a story…” But now wasn’t the time…now was the time to find a way home.
“A…power enhancer? Like…are those really things?” She glanced around, curious, as though there would be the perfect object just lying around…that was how things normally progressed in video games or mystery novels…but sadly, this was neither of those things.
“But…you really do think we’ll make it home…right? Because…I really…don’t want to be trapped here forever.”

“When we have some time, sure, I can tell you it. I do love telling stories, and this one is full of heart break and drama and all sorts of things. We just need the time. It seems these days it’s never the right time to just sit down and talk, but I’m sure I can manage to make time once we’re all safe. Until then, story time is something you can look forward to.” Despite the gruesome subject from before, he smiled, hoping that having something to look forward to would help ease the other senshi’s mind, if even a little bit.
He followed her gaze around, trying to think just how likely such a thing existing would be. But… here, not likely… Not where they could reach anyway. The only things they could see were random paintings and endless crystals all around.
“Of course we will. We are resilient, if anything. No matter how hard anyone tries to douse our flames, we will continue to move and strive for our freedom. It’s what we do, it’s what we’ve always done, and it’s what we always will do. And even if there isn’t much faith in yourself to get free, which I understand happens, know that we still are a team, and we are here for one another, in one way or another. Atleast that’s what I always like to think. And… Well. If we can’t escape here peacefully, I know we’ll throw one hell of a fight.”

Chione nodded, giving a small smile. “All right. I’ll hold you to that promise, Avior. When we’re out of here, we’ll spend a day drinking coffee and just chatting. I like it. Gives me something to dwell on.”
She listened to him go on and found herself nodding. It made sense…and she supposed that she had forgotten that they were supposed to be a team. It seemed as though they were all separated into cliques…like a dysfunctional high school or something…it didn’t feel very team like. But it was supposed to. Maybe…maybe they would find a way to work together through all of this…maybe they could put all of their differences aside eventually to…get home.
Shaking her head, Chione snorted. “I doubt it though.” The words burst from her lips before she had a chance to keep them in and she looked to Avior, shaking her head again. “Sorry. That wasn’t to anything you said. I just…we’re…we’re all so different. It’s so hard to really visualize all of us working together…especially after some of the bickering that I’ve seen…but I’m sure we can do it. Maybe.” She sighed. “Thanks for talking with me, Avior…you’ve made me feel a lot better about all of this…and I really appreciate it…but I think, if you don’t mind…I think I’m going to go back and try to get some more sleep. I don’t feel like I got more than an hour or so and I’m so tired. But I want to talk again soon, okay? Please.”

"I think that sounds perfect. I know a few places, so I'll have to make sure to give you my number when this is all done. No harm in sharing identities once we're back home." Avior never was one who was afraid to let people know who he was. He lived a rather solitary life in the first place, and it wasn't intentional either, so he'd be more than happy to let more people in. Especially now that he had more courage to do so thanks to Crocus.
"Well, think of it this way. Families always have fights. There will be people we hate, and people we adore, but in the end, we're all family. Dysfunctional, of course, and I'm sure more than one of us want to beat the hell out of another, but we're still ultimately working towards the same thing, and that's to get home safe."
He went quiet again, giving a gentle, sympathetic look before smiling and giving her another pat on the shoulder. He couldn't blame her at all over her thoughts and feelings and when she moved away to head out, he did not try to stop her.
"Of course. Rest well, Chione. I look forward to seeing you. And if you can't find me, find the blonde boy with the flower motif, Crocus. I'm never too far away from him." He waved again as she left, and thought about going back to his own room to find the boy he spoke of. He could use some more comfort after everything that had gone down, and he could think of no one better to find that with.
Orangeish Sherbert Finally a fin from me! Thank you!
