Acubens was busying herself inspecting every single inch of the castle and recording what she saw. In lieu of anything else to do, this kept her mind busy. She sketched and wrote and recorded whatever she could until her eyes were about to cross and her feet were killing her. She hadn't hated her fuku for a long while but... she could feel that familiar disdain creeping up on her now. It was just another reminder that she was trapped and being forced into a position that she didn't want to be in. Even when she stripped down to nothing in her room she could still feel the power of her star pulsing through her veins. There was no escaping this...

To what end was Queenie keeping them powered up? Normally if she was powered for too long, Acubens began to feel tired, but now was different. She felt no fatigue, no weariness other than just the usual that she felt after this much exertion. What could that mean? What was the purpose of keeping them powered?

Acubens pushed the questions from her mind for now, concerning herself instead with observation. That was all she could do. Watch and wait, she supposed. And regroup. She needed to Find Kiuchi and Crocus.

Crocus had been spending a lot of his spare time in the library, even though he wasn't able to read any of the words the pictures could still provide some bits of information. The fact that they were all just off doing their own things in a foreign place was a bit upsetting to him. When he had answered the call into Mirrorspace, he hadn't expected to be trapped another another planet who knows how far from Earth. The longer he spent doing nothing though, the more restless he grew.

What if parents had tried getting in touch with him? Was his sister staying out of trouble? The thought of not going back home was unacceptable, but please let a book hold the answer to getting them back, all they needed was a hint!

Currently Crocus was set up in a chair in the library with his legs hanging over one of the arms and his back resting against the other. He looked a bit frustrated, after all he wasn't getting anywhere. Maybe he should just go talk to the Queen directly, but he had a sinking feeling it was a bit of a fluke that she had managed to save them before. What were the odds that she could reverse it?

Acubens had seen the library before, but had made a mental not to return to it later. When she did, however, she was not alone. A familiar face eased away the tension from her expression and lightened her smile.

"Crocus," she crooned, easing herself into the room and focusing maybe too hard to smoothing over her fraying nerves. "It's good to see you alive and well still. I've been trying to make my rounds but... it seems like everyone kind of split up and off. So I've been doing what I do best instead." She held up her notebook with a wry smile and finished, "for what it'll be worth, anyway." Her laugh was without music as she tossed the notebook on a nearby table and flopped into the chair next to Crocus, sitting in a mirror image of his position. She nudged the back of his head with her own affectionately and sighed, allowing her world to stop spinning for this one moment with one of her best friends.

"How you holding up, kiddo?"

The library was quiet around him as he flipped through a book on his lap. He had no idea what was written in it, but it did have interesting pictures. As far as he could tell it was about the flora on the planet, which could both be very different from what they were used to and very similar. He should have been looking at something that could lead them home, but it had caught his attention for the time. When he heard his name he looked up and saw Acubens had entered the library, he smiled and nodded toward her.

"I've been trying to figure out some things on my own as well. Not that I have any idea what is written in any of these books though." He sighed and closed up the book he had been reading. He couldn't hide the sigh that escaped his lips when she asked him how he was doing. While they weren't in danger of mirrorspace killing them at the moment, he still didn't like be stranded so far from home. The only comfort he could find in it all was that he wasn't alone, the majority of his court was here with him.

"I'm doing okay. I get a little more anxious the more time we spend here though. Part of me is concerned Altea isn't doing as much as she could to help us because she's been so lonely. Another part of me is concerned there isn't anything she can do, so how do we figure this out on our own? I was hoping the library might hold some answers, but I can't read anything in here." There was a stack of books on a table nearby, each of them Crocus had flipped through, trying to find any answers they might hold. They all had nice pictures, but that was about it.

"How are you holding up?" Acubens had seemed more stressed than a lot of them during the talks with the Queen in the dining room. Though, they had had time to chill out since then, he was still concerned for her.

Acubens' first instinct was the lie, blindly, through her teeth, and tell Crocus she was fine. But then her conversation with Sinope tapped her on the shoulder and reminded her of what the younger senshi had said to her. Acubens deflated against Crocus' back with a deep, pensive sigh, and crossed her arms protectively over her chest. She didn't want to tell Crocus how she really felt; why should he feel burdened with her discomfort. But in the end Sinope was right. If she was going to go around preaching about family, she was going to have to start practicing those sermons. And that meant letting your family take small pieces of your burdens so that you can walk. So she shoved her pride down inside of her and broke off a piece of her burden.

"Not so good, actually," she muttered, a thick fall of hair hiding the scowl on her face. "I don't like feeling caged... and this is even worse. At least in a cage I know how I can maybe get us out. This," she gestured to the room around them, "this is a mystery and I don't even know how to begin solving it." That was why she had come here, after all. The first step was to gather information, after all. What better place to start than the library, since she didn’t totally trust queenie to tell her any part of the truth if she were to ask.

“I’m supposed to be a protector. I took you and Kiuchi under my wing so that I could keep you safe while you learn, but here you all are. I just feel like it’s… I don’t know… my fault? And I havent’ been setting a great example, taking bait that people lay down for me and getting into fights…” She shrugged dismissively, trying to keep her voice even despite the lump growing in her throat and her nerves beginning to spark and crack. “I promised myself when I took you two in, I’d be better. It’s not seeming like I’m keeping that promise.”

Crocus hadn't really thought of Altea's castle as a cage, more life a place they had escaped to into to avoid the doom in Mirrorspace. Though, with Acubens voices her concerns he certainly could see where she was going with that. They were trapped here. Sure, he could be thankful to the Queen for rescuing them, but now they were just stuck somewhere different. They weren't dead though and that had to mean something. Were they just lucky that Altea had spotted them or was it something else entirely?

"Don't beat yourself up over it Acubens. It's not like any of us knew this was going to happen, you couldn't have prevented this. Kiuchi and I both want to be a part of this family. And families deal with tough situations together. It's a comfort to me just knowing you're here." He didn't know what to tell her about picking fights though. He felt like lines had been crossed by a lot of people that evening. He felt incredibly awkward when it happened, like he was caught in the middle of something.

"Families fight sometimes too, it's bound to happen. Not everyone agrees. I can't count the times I've gotten into it with my sister. She's a royal pain at times." He could hear the tension in her voice as she spoke. This was hard for all of them, but he knew Acubens had a deep sense of responsibility. He turned around to sit properly in his chair, then reached out to ruffle her hair a bit.

"Hmmm, your hair is surprisingly soft considering how curly it is. How do you deal with this? It would drive me insane!" Enough dark and gloomy talk, what they really needed was just a time to chat like friends. Pretend they were on vacation and have a good time.

Acubens laughed at the change in subject, grateful for it despite the artless transition. But Crocus' hands in her hair was soothing and she'd been awake for god knew how long. She had no doubt that there were mats in it from running around... though she had been running her hands through it in her stress, so maybe that mitigated the damage some. But the question was a good one. How did she deal with her hair? It had just been a facet of her life, even when she was someone else, she never really thought of it as "dealing with it" it was just... there. Now that she thought about it, there sort of was a routine that she went through...

"Well, I hadn't really thought about it, but conditioner is like... my best friend... and I never blow dry this beast. It would turn into a 'fro if I did. Oh, and I never use a hair brush... it's always finger combing the curls to avoid it getting overly poofy. Though... I gotta say... I am jealous of the people that can get nice beachy waves in their hair..."

Crocus could probably get beachy waves if he grew his hair out. Lucky. Acubens swiveled in her chair to face the same way Crocus was facing and kicked off her heels so that she could tuck her legs up under her. Those wicked little claws on the sides made such a position... undesirable.

"I think the better question is 'how do we function in these ridiculous outfits' I think." Acubens remembered when she was a basic senshi she had leggings and lower, wider heels. So much easier to work with. "And I mean how does this even stay on," she griped, flicking the flower crown that would forever be a point of envy for Acubens. "What even are the mechanics of these outfits?"
