Personality:
Since meeting the man that would change his perspective and what he hopes to do with his life Tadeos has become a much more serious young man. He used to be the sort that would get into all sorts of scuffles over the stupidest of things but now he's often seen reading all manner of thick tomes that his teacher lets him borrow. He's thrown his all into becoming more then just the punk that he was, instead wanting to become more like his mentor.
His desire to change himself though might have made him a bit obsessive, to the point where he will end up skipping meals so that he can read a few more chapters of a book, attend his mentor when the man goes out gathering herbs, or so that he can sit in while the man cares for his patients so that he can learn various tricks of the trade. Every trick that he learns he seems to employ in his attempts to keep his twin sister patched up as, unlike Tadeos himself, Tyr hasn't really 'mended her ways'.
The health of his patients and even those that aren't exactly under his care is of the utmost importance to him. It also means him scolding those that done allow him to care for them. Those who don't take care of themselves in a manner that he thinks they should is something that would irritate him greatly. Even if his patients are older then he is he will still act the part of the 'adult' if it means getting them to do what he wants them to do. He's definitely one that will act beyond his years even as a prentice because he's so serious about what he wants to do with his life.
Extra:
His personality traits above are where he stands at the moment and not how he was when he was younger and before he met up with Doctor Forthus. When he was younger and when he was still unfocused he used to be as wild as his sister is now. He had no real guidance in any manner with his mother always busy so he was left to do as he pleased... but that just seemed to get him into trouble since he was also lacking in a disciplinary figure in his life.
He often got into fights and otherwise spent a lot of his time and energy in what he'd seen as a wasteful manner now. It all seemed like a good idea at the time, seemed like fun at the time, but it's something he regrets now that he's become a doctor. Due to his studies he's far more aware now of the damage that he likely caused given his large form and it's something he's hoping to make amends for among various other things.
I see it as something that will likely come back to bite him from time to time, with people still out there looking for a fight despite him having moved on.
Description:
~ Eyes: The Icy Blue that is on the far right on the color swatches.
~ Hair: One of the greens toward the middle of the color choices (I will leave the exact pic up the artist) in the style shown right here, please! He can have some simple decorations in his hair if the artist wants to add some! I'm always open to that sort of thing.
~ Skin: The darkest of the skin choices for him, please. <3
~ Markings: The lightest color for the markings located in the position shown here with the actual design totally up to the artist! <3
~ Build: He's going to be a big, beast of a man with a muscular build similar to this guy or the guy on the right shown here! ^_^
Clothing: I'd like him to have just some baggy, comfortable pants on and an open vest for his prentice stage. Pants like those the example for his build would probably work well. More simplified without the patterns but that particular type of pants works well. I'd like him to be barefoot as well for now, please.
Other then that I'm cool with the artist fiddling with the details.
Accessories: I'd like him to have a messenger back over one shoulder or a back pack over both shoulders (up to the artist which) that looks to be packed with all manner of things that will be needed by a healer in training. If he could have some pouches on his belt filled with his as well that would be cool too! I will leave the number and design of them up to the artist as well.
History:
~ Tyrithian, Twin Sister, Pure Geian, Prentice His twin sister, born before him, and never letting him forget it. She's someone who is dear to him, likely more so then anyone else in his family in fact. She grew up at his side, was and is his best friend, and the one that fought at his side as well. It was something that made sense at the time though nowadays he sort of regrets allowing her to get into the fighting business.
He had found a path that has started to lead him away from the fighting while she's stuck to it, something that worries him a bit. To solace that he takes in it is that she's found a mentor of her own and he hopes that she's able to focus her energy on something other then just random fights. Even if it's something like becoming a guard or the like it's better then what they did in the past.
As far as her interest in his love life goes, with her often times trying to foist random people upon him, he could do without that. He is busy with his studies and really can't be bothered with even the mere thought of dating... and yet Tyr seems to think that he's lonely or something. He tries his best to reassure her that this isn't the case but to no avail as of yet.
~ Jhalan, Mother, Pure Geian, Mage/Farmer Their mother is a very studious woman who spends a lot of her time using her magic to experiment on the crops under her care. Her goal is to figure out ways to help them to grow faster through magical means so that it means more food, more quickly, for more people. Due to her being so caught up in her work all the time it's given Tadeos and Tyr a lot of leeway as far as getting into trouble when they were younger was concerned.
It isn't that she is a bad person, but she's far from being mother of the year. There are many times that Tadeos can recall in the past that things involving the twins would be put on hold because of her work. It seemed as though there was always just 'one more thing' that needed to be done before they could all do something as a family. Something that really bothered Tadeos when he was younger but he tries to focus on less as he got older because he sort of focused more on Tyr and looking after her. She's around more then his father though, with them seeing her far more often, though it still seems to depend on her experiments, how they are going, and if it's time for harvest. Some days they will see her daily, other times it's a few times a week.
She is also a bit oblivious at the moment of Tadeos's interest in a career that is different from her own. It not so much that he's hiding it from her as much as he's just not really brought it up yet. Lying through omission to keep her from learning what he's up to until he really feels ready to let her own. He's well aware that his build is the sort that would make him perfect for the physical side of farm work but it's just not what he wants to do. At the same time he worries about disappointing her so he's keeping the change in path to himself, with only Forthus and Tyr really being ware of said change.
It's never been really officially stated out loud but she likely expects that, since she's raised them, that they will follow in her stead instead of that of Grithus. That they are going in the directions of their mentors instead will likely be a shock to the woman. Especially since she's isn't presently aware of said mentors.
~ Grithis, Father, Pure Geian, Academic A man that helped to create the twins but really wasn't in their life all that much. He came and went, with years in between visits, leaving the twins fairly detached from him. Tadeos is alright with him though he doesn't really delude himself into think the man is a real father or anything. He's just a guy who appears from time to time with gifts, usually far after or before their birthdays leading him to believe the guy doesn't even know when those are.
~ Jhalan & Grithis' Relationship The relationship that resulted in the twins was more of a fling then much else. The two of them met through a shared project, hit it off to a degree, but their relationship really had zero staying power. The two of them are and were far more attached to their work then anything else so it was mostly a case of them drifting apart and never really reconnecting. Presently they meet up from time to time but it's not in the same manner as in the past.
It seems to be mostly friendly chats, the exchanging of information that might aid them in their work, and talking about their children. It's at best a friendly working relationship made a tad more awkward by the fact that they have children together.
A part of why he has no interest in Tyr's attempts to hook him up with people might lie in the way that his own family functions (or doesn't?) and finds that he doesn't want as messed up a relationship himself. If and when he decides to do such a thing he wants it to be a more formal sort of relationship instead of one that constitutes as being just a fling. He's used to his family being the way that it is but when it comes time to make a family of his own he wants it to be a lot different and a lot more 'normal'.
~ Forthus, Pure Geian, Doctor The man that Tadeos takes much inspiration from and the one that helped him to get off the what was likely going to be the wrong path for him. Instead of leaving him to just swing his fists around wildly the man taught him to use them for a good cause instead.
Tadeos used to do a whole lot of fighting when he was a younger prentice, often times getting in way over his head because he thought his size made him invincible. A lot of it seemed to have to do with him just having far too much free time on his hands and having nothing to do with it. His idle hands and mind seeming to lead him to places that he really shouldn't be. On top of that his mother was often busy and his father barely ever around, leaving him without a strict had to really guide him in one way or another.
Given that he didn't really have a real role model to speak of at first he just did whatever he wanted to without thought of the consequences. Something that would end up getting his sister dragged into things as well despite him not having wanted for her what he had for himself. Fighting alongside her was nice but if she'd never taken up fighting that would have been nice as well.
After one rather bloody failure of a fight the guy found him, Forthus, patched him up, and then put him to work helping with other patients. He found that it was a strangely fulfilling thing, getting to take care of others in such a manner. He could use his large size to help to move people around more easily, he could deal with contrary patients easy enough, and otherwise found the idea of following in Forthus's footsteps to be something he wanted.
It was a new a different feeling for him as before he found himself wanting to follow the man into the medical field he figured he'd end up doing what his mother did eventually. Becoming a farmer wasn't something that he really particularly wanted to do but his big size would have aided him in doing that sort of thing easily enough. It would have been a job and one with his mother being an easy in. It was what he'd thought that he would do but not something he would have really enjoyed doing or felt fulfilled while doing. The idea of becoming a doctor was completely different though... and nothing like what he thought it would be.
Tadeos thought that things would be easy. He thought that one could just magic people better, but he soon started to learn different. He was forced to read a lot of medical books, learn about all the various sorts of herbal remedies that Forthus liked to use, how to give stitches, and various other things. The idea that magic couldn't do everything was quickly drilled into his head as well and while the skill runs in Tadeos's family it's something that Forthus wouldn't allow him to use as a crutch. He had to be able to hold his own even without learning such a skill. Tadeos still plans to learn magic thought to aid in the venture of becoming a doctor. He wants to do anything and everything to take care of people after all so even if he can't use magic as a crutch he can use it as just another tool in his arsenal.
