Passing Remarque in the hall, headed to the bedroom he'd be sleeping in, the senshi of gorgon's had whispered to the other to meet him in the hallway in half an hour. He was hoping he could remove some of his uniform, it wasn't something he wished to sleep in, and maybe if there was a bathroom...a shower or something would be nice. The idea of getting clean was appealing for various reasons.
It was, as he'd said earlier, half an hour later that he stepped out of his room on slippered feet. Dark eyes glancing about the hallways looking for any guards or other people, he didn't care for anyone to spot him out or be listening in. This was a talk which they should have but it needed to be private, for obvious reasons. This was no their home, the person ruling here they did not know and the people here...he wasn't sure what to make of them - they hadn't said or done anything of note.
Fingers gently moved through his hair, fluffing the dark locks, as he gently, slowly, closed his bedroom door. He was trying his hardest to not make a sound, or at least as little sound as possible. There was, in his opinion, so much to talk about with Remarque and he was nervous, fidgeting where hee stood. This wasn't an uncomfortable place but there were so many questions and a lot of odd stuff, things he was wondering about, that he was unsettled and needed to at least talk to someone freely.
Looking rather like a lost child, which he supposed every dark mirror senshi was to an extent, Kiuchi continued to glance up and down the hall and listen for any sounds of movement. He did not want to be caught out and have his presence questioned by any of the inhabitants of this castle. He was good at lying, or at least altering his speech to make things seem one way rather than another, but he wasn't sure in this situation he'd be able to really. He was out of his element and knew that being out of his room would be suspicious...there wasn't much he could spin really. He couldn't claim much as an excuse.
The pale, very pale, spring green clothing he wore floated about him and normally would be considered over sized, not that he minded that, as the bed shirt fell down to mid thigh while the bottoms he wore covered his slippered feet almost entirely. It was nice though, something he wondered if he could get back in Destiny City...and what would Caleb think? Maybe no frills at the cuffs of the shirt but the clothing was soft and comfortable, plus he liked the color.

Remarque was nothing but prompt—at least, insofar as anyone could be without a watch or other time telling device. Thankfully, his internal body clock seemed adequate enough and Remarque managed to make his way to meet Kiuchi at the designated time.
He hadn’t changed out of his uniform or made any effort to get comfortable yet; he’d spent his time trying to learn as much as he could about the rooms they’d been shown and this immediate part of the castle. He wanted to have an idea of the layout, if something were to happen.
Kiuchi was easy to find; he was the only one Remarque had seen in the hallways. The other Dark Mirror Senshi were either in their rooms or exploring other parts of the castle, and he hadn’t seen any of the strange crystalline servants or the Queen.
Or anyone else.
But then, he hadn’t ventured too far from here, yet, so he had no idea where they might be hiding.
He raised a hand in greeting to Kiuchi as he approached and figured he’d get straight to the point: “Where do you wanna do this?”
They couldn’t have a conversation out in the hallway if Kiuchi wanted honest answers; all he could hope was that the young man had found somewhere safe for them to speak.

As he was already looking about, perhaps a bit like some paranoid person, Kiuchi spotted Remarque rather quickly and nodded his head in greeting. He didn't speak till the other was close enough that he could do so in a low, near whisper, of a voice.
"Only safe place maybe bedrooms...maybe bathrooms. Don't think walking around and getting lost is a good idea...or risk being seen - it might cause problems where we have none." Though they didn't know yet if they did have problems. They didn't know what this Queen intended to do for with or for them. She might be an allie and finding them whispering and wandering late at night might harm that alliance. She also might be an enemy in disguise, though he really didn't think this, and upsetting her would be a really bad idea then.
"Lots of talk about...a lot said by us all..." He knew a lot of questions had been asked, many of which were answered, but there were other things as well to talk about. There were observations as well, and that was what he intended to open with, he felt one of his observations was perhaps the biggest take away tonight.

Remarque seemed contemplative but nodded. He wasn’t at all trusting of the Queen or this location, but he hadn’t been shy in wandering around or being seen communicating. Sharing secrets though, or conspiring against her? That was best done in private.
“I’m fine with that.”
He assumed they had met outside of Kiuchi’s room, so he nodded towards the door. “Let’s go in. We can talk about whatever you want.”
He had promised Kiuchi any answers he could provide when they found a more private place to talk. He was interested to know what was on the male's mind and it seemed that now was as good of an opportunity as any they were going to get.

Nodding his head he pushed his door open, as silently as he could, and headed inside towards the bathroom. "Figure they wouldn't watch bathroom...like they won't back home." Since it was a rather illegal thing to do, and private. He had to hope that idea back home was the same here, because he didn't want to risk upsetting anyone by talking behind this Queen's back.
Once inside his bathroom he sat himself on the counter top, motioning for Remarque to find a place to seat himself.
"I think she's sick...don't know with what but maybe what she was talking about." That coughing and sudden weakness, That wasn't being tired - that was being sick. There was a difference and he knew what being tired was, he spent a lot of time being tired and sleeping. That had not been tired, unless it was very different here.
"I don't know about the past...the millennium thing she mentioned so I don't know if that applies to us. But if she was alive for it, which she might have been? She's how old then..." Meaning time either here was very different than back home or the life span of the people here, or at least one sort of the people here, was very long?

There was something odd about being in a bathroom, alone, with another male. Remarque found that there was nowhere he could imagine comfortably sitting, so instead he just crossed his arms over his chest and leaned back against the wall.
“I saw her cough,” Remarque agreed, “But it’s hard to diagnose that without any other information.” She’d looked tired to him, but sickness often came with fatigue. She had mentioned a plague, but all the plagues he knew were a bit more dramatic than a cough here or there, and for as excited as she seemed about having them, she didn’t seem to have any concern about being contagious. Of course, who knew what space germs could do to a person.
He had no immunities to any sicknesses that might exist on this planet.
“The only thing I know is that I was told s**t hit the fan back on Earth about a thousand years ago. So, if that’s what she’s talking about, she’d have to be at least a thousand Earth years old. But I don’t know how old that would make her, or if she ages the same way. I mean, obviously not, if she’s still alive. And looks that young.”
Women were vain, though; if she had some magic, maybe there was more to her appearance than she was letting on. Remarque hadn’t seen her since the dinner and hadn’t made any effort to seek her out.
Yet.

"It is...but it wasn't being tired. If sleeping were an Olympic sport I'd have a gold medal in it - several in fact. She might be tired...but it's not just that." He was sure of it, he didn't trust it. She was being a Queen though...and didn't that mean hiding such things? Being strong and showing a strong face to others? He was sure she was ill...and that was no good...for anyone - for them or those living here.
"I think we can assume it's the same event, when we get back we should find out. If it is...then she's old...at least in the terms we know. Here....I don't know. I can't power down so we can't get access to a cell phone to tell time and date and figure how long we've been here." With no way to measure time there was no real way to judge times movement here vs back home, not till they got home. "We can guess it, pretty close, when we get home. Then we can get a guess on her age."
Kicking his feet lightly, looking down to his lap, he toyed with the hem of the long bed shirt he wore.
"This whole thing is very odd. She doesn't feel like one of us...yet has some of the same abilities...or did. She's not a senshi and doesn't know of one. I was sure I'd heard somewhere, I can't remember where, that every planet was without life...planet...star..." Surely Remarque understood what he meant. There was no life in space, at least as far as he'd once heard.
"Maybe it's being closed off like she is that saved this place though....which means maybe others in this area also still possess life. That could be both good and bad...depending on how things go here with her." He might be shy and silent, rather submissive, but he had gone to schools for smart people - elite schools if you will. He wasn't a slouch...well ok maybe he was, he did like to sleep a lot.
"She might be a way to space...if we have now been through a mirror here...can't we come here in the future if we want? She said she might be able to help us to homeworlds of ours...someone said we haven't had access ever to space. What if we can gain that? What do we do?" What would they do....did they try and rebuild in space? Did they work on alliances then? They would need those - right?
"There is also the question of what is outside of this palace here....I assume no one knows....do we be bold enough to sneak out and find out? There may be nothing...there may be something - answers...or who knows what..." As nervous as he was, and clearly he was, he was also curious and was tossing out what was on his mind; and it was a lot.

“I think it would be foolish to assume that Earth is the only planet in the universe with life still on it,” Remarque said, shrugging slightly. Maybe they had the most life—or the most powered activity—but he wasn’t so arrogant that he let his pride believe they wasn’t anyone else alive out there, in the whole great expanse of the universe.
Or, universes.
Ares had come from an entirely different universe, herself, after all.
He continued, “Theoretically we can travel through mirrors from Earth to here. Ares traveled from Destiny City to the Surrounding, and that spread out into space. But I’m sure that would take a lot of power.”
He had never had the opportunity to try, himself. After they’d returned from the Surrounding, he hadn’t been able to travel back.
“I haven’t yet been able to find a door leading out of this place, though, so I don’t know how feasible it is to sneak out just yet. Or, if it’s even safe” The plague story could have been a cover up, but Remarque wasn’t going to jump into harm’s way unless he had a damned good reason to. “So I’m going to stick to exploring the inside, for now. But, if things work out,” he shrugged. “Who knows what she could do for us? If we can trust her, at least. I’m still not sold.”

"I agree...but I have heard it somewhere." Shrugging a bit. "I don't remember where I heard it from but perhaps they mean powered life..." He could be forgetting parts, it was possible, but the main point he did remember.
"Traveling further distances takes more energy?" He hadn't done much traveling and never a long distance, always short distances. He sort of hoped it didn't take more energy to go further, space travel would be interesting....it would open a lot up to them. Someone tonight had said they couldn't go to their home worlds...space travel would open them up to that possibility - right?
"Mmmm, I am curious what the outside is like...especially if they don't know. Actually...that brings another thing to mind...the other people here. Her servants are alive, so she says, but different. So another species of human like people...what are the other people here like - her or them? What allows for the two differing species...since really evolution on Earth killed out other species over time or evolved them....I want to know what they are capable of vs/ the Queen herself....that wraith, I'm sure you felt it also, did nothing to her or them....it should have - right?"

Remarque shrugged. “I don’t think traveling through space would be like traveling through Destiny City. When I was first starting, it was easier to travel shorter distances. These days…”
His voice trailed off and he shrugged. “I’ve had enough practice that it doesn’t make much difference to me, anymore.” It helped that he had a whole new source of power to tap into, though. Being a Prince had a good few number of perks.
“I can’t speak for the wraith, or ruling over one person or not. The fact is, I don’t know enough about this place to know her relationship with them, or if they are even a different species. She might look human—they might even resemble humans, but who can say that they’re really so different? There are plenty of animals on Earth, where the male appears differently than the female. Insects often have a queen that doesn’t resemble the colony. All I can say with confidence is, if the wraith didn’t attack them, it didn’t perceive them as an enemy. I’ve only ever seen them not do that towards Dark Mirror Senshi—everyone else is free game.”
Or, when the wraiths were off their rocker, even the Dark Mirror Senshi could have been targets.
Remarque didn’t place much stock in them, not when he seemed to barely know their motives in the first place.

"Could she be like us then? Just not the same name as us, due to differences in location? Though she isn't a senshi....so similar but not the same? If so what about other people then? It does seem like it would open up to other possibilities...like not being alone out here on Earth. But more like us...just out here." Gesturing in a sort of vague manner.
"I wonder if others can do like she can...." It was worth wondering about, worth trying to find out about as well - if they could.
"Do you think we might not be so alone?"
Swinging his legs he tilted his head a bit to the side. "If we aren't alone...and more are like her. How many are watching us...can interact with mirror space, and potentially us? She said she had seen those flashes before and the cracks. So it's been going on for how long? Has it been happening and we just haven't seen it till recently?" There was so much unknown, so many things to seek, and he couldn't much help but wonder about it all.
"If mirrors can go black on her...can they do that to us?" And what happened if it did start happening? Would they notice if they were in mirror space? Was something going on in mirror space and they were just now noticing? Something had been going on for a long time perhaps? Longer than any of them had been around even?
While Kiuchi was rather lazy, he really was a lazy individual, he also had been paying close attention during the meeting and asking questions, while providing some information. He just hoped, though he hadn't asked, if he'd overstepped anywhere with his actions - he hoped not. He'd tried to do his best to find some sort of balance...in the hope of giving and taking with information, so it wasn't unfair and didn't upset the ones hosting them. He felt like a lot had been learned though, though it did open up so many other questions and possibilities.

Remarque shrugged; he had mentioned only a moment ago that he thought it was foolish for anyone to assume Earth was the only planet with life on it, so he assumed Kiuchi was just vocalizing his internal thoughts for the time being. When he fell quiet, Remarque took the opportunity to share his own thoughts on the matter.
“I don’t think we’re alone,” he repeated, “But I don’t know anything about any other creature or life form in space. But, just because I haven’t had any experience with them—yet—doesn’t mean they don’t exist. But, the mirrors have never gone black on me. This place, though,” he looked around. “It’s weird. Maybe Mirrorspace is trying to shut her out. Doesn’t look like there’s a lot of energy to donate around this area, maybe it just doesn’t have the strength to maintain this world. I don’t know, it could be any number of things. If she’s really been alive for that long, maybe the bonds just got tired.”

"That is an idea...a bond getting tired or mirror space shutting her out for a reason. If it is even a bit sentient, as it seems to perhaps be, maybe there is a reason - if it is shutting her out. Something for us to watch for?" He questioned lightly, though already suspecting the answer.
It could be a simple reason, not liking her being able to interact with it as she had by plucking them from it, or perhaps it was something else...something less friendly. "I hope we are safe here...that we can consider her an ally by the end of this..." He whispered, his own nervousness showing. He didn't like being in such a place, not knowing if he was safe or not. Not just himself though but every one of them here. This place was strange and left a lot to wonder about.
"Was there anything else you noticed or heard? I wasn't listening to the others really...and I'm afraid I might have missed something they were talking about."

If Kiuchi had expected Remarque to answer with ‘I don’t know’, he would have been correct.
Remarque shrugged again, repeated the phrase, and added, “I keep my eye out for everything, though. If something odd happens, I aim to notice it as soon as it starts. Gives us more time to plan a response.”
He drew in a long breath and released it, rolling his shoulders as he tried to make himself a bit more comfortable. “I’d prefer if she was an ally, but I’m not holding my breath. She hasn’t tried to hurt us yet, so maybe we’re all just a little paranoid. I haven’t noticed anything any more out of the ordinary than what’s happened so far, but if I pick up on anything, I’ll let you know. All I can say is that I want you to be safe. Worry about yourself, and if something goes wrong or you suspect anything is amiss, you come to me first, all right? I’ll keep us safe,” he promised; he held only the strongest conviction.
Or, at least, that’s what he wanted Kiuchi to think. He didn’t want him to worry about his safety or what was going on; he just wanted him to trust that Remarque would take care of things when it came down to it. Maybe, at least, it would help him sleep a little better to think that Remarque was so certain things were under control.

The other's words did make him feel better, they did lend some comfort and assurance, as he sat there listening to the other. Remarque, as he figured, would be on the lookout for anything strange or unusual happening. Kiuchi would be doing the same, though he desperately hoped nothing happened. To be honest he just wanted to get home, even if it meant working and school was coming up soon. He was ok with that. He wanted his bed and Caleb...he wanted Caleb's bed and his arms to snuggle into.
The dark haired senshi was hoping they wouldn't be here long, he didn't like the idea of causing Caleb to worry for him and he knew he would, he had just vanished and it wasn't fair to the other. He'd have to come up with some story, and somehow make up to the other for just vanishing.
"I will...I just hope nothing happens that I have to tell you." Whispering he smiled softly. He really hoped this all went well, that they'd get home soon.
"Be safe...please. I don't want anything to happen to any of us..." Acubens had been right when he'd met her, this was like a family...or at least it could be, it was for him. The dark mirror court was like a family and at the head of that family was Remarque - without a doubt.
"I'm going to take a walk...I think..." And hope he didn't attract any attention.
