When he’d said his wonder was a theater he had meant it, when he’d said it was big...he’d also meant that. The room they arrived in was the first room people would enter when coming in from the city street in order to see a performance. The room was large, large enough to hold a hundred people maybe more, glass doors leading outside that were dirty from time and weather. Some sunlight managed to get through the glass and it’s dirt filter, though it wasn’t as much as it would be were the doors to be cleaned properly.

Further into the room were curtains, lots of them, new and made of crushed dark blue velvet with fur trim at the bottom. They hide the theater, and it’s seating area, from view but were easy to draw back so people could move down the aisles to their seats. There were two areas with their curtains drawn aside, and held in place by a sash of silk, there were stairs there which led up to the upper floor and the box seating.

It was towards the closed off curtains that Seung, now Venice, made his way. The wooden floor under his feet sounding a bit old...but it looked good and was polished nicely. He’d had to rip up the carpeting, not knowing what he’d find under it, he’d been happy with the wooden floor which the carpet protected for so long.

“Need flash lights for here...sunlight doesn’t get in…” Drawing the curtains aside to show what he meant. Some sunlight did make it in but it didn’t carry all the way into the seating area. The sunlight only just pierced the area and showed that the seats weren’t in such neat rows; they were uprooted and tossed about. The lack of light would make walking a hazard and injuries were something he wished to avoid.

It took a little bit for Quinn, now Havasu Falls, to adjust to the dim interior he now found himself in. The duo had been standing outside in a forest glen, a small clearing a decent hike from his folks place just moments before and now they stood in the entry hall of some type of theater. So much darker than the bright earthen forest they had just left. Logicly Hav knew that his friend had told the truth about his wonder. That it was a theater on Ganymede that the younger man had already put some work into restoring.

Mossy green eyes took in the entire space even as Venice, in his new feathery get up no less, strode over to the dark curtains to pull one set back. Hav started to join his fellow squire when Venice mentioned the lack of light, causing Hav to pause before scrambling back to where they had left the backpacks. “That can be fixed. I’ve got just the thing,” and promptly started to dig in the bags.

It probably took longer than it should have before the sandy haired knight stood upright with a triumphant ‘aha!’ He was holding two simple flashlights. Those little LED lights that fit in the palm of your hand. “Tossed them in last minute with the excuse of using them in case it took us longer to get back then expected.” He clicked on his and quickly handed the other over once he joined his friend at the curtain. The bright white beam cut into the theater’s darkness, lightening the oppressive gloom but not dissipating by it much. “Damn this place is big.” Even with the aid of the flashlight it was pretty hard to make out the stage in the distance. How in God’s name did Venice expect to repair this place with his own two hands?

Quote:
Looking over to Havasu, who stood at his side, he smiled once before turning his gaze back into the darkness that made up the floor seating of the theater. When the other mentioned fixing the issue of it being so dark he nodded his head, appreciating whatever fix the other had to offer. He was used to it, and normally had a flashlight with him, but going into the darkness with no form of light and with Havasu would be dangerous to both of them.

Glad to see the flashlights, after the other spent a fair amount of time rooting about in his bag, he took the offered item and clicked it on. “Perfect.” Letting the bright white light break through some of the darkness he nodded his head once. “Glad you tossed them in. Very dark here….and dangerous.” With chairs uprooted from where they had once been some were tossed about in a haphazard sort of manner while others, closer to the stage, were piled up high. It was a mess, though some chairs were lucky enough to have not been moved from their original place.

The stage itself had holes in the floor, one gaping one almost in the center, with torn and ruined red curtains hanging off to the sides where they should be. They looked so sad...his wonder would be impossible to fully restore by himself...and even with help it would be near impossible - it was too big and too much was needed. He tried though...when and where he could.

“It is...was main theater on Ganymede…” Something to be proud of although it looked a mess now - nothing like it had once looked. It had once been glorious, that was for certain. “Come...need to get under stage to get to living quarters...and office.” Stepping into the darkness he let the flashlight light his way so he didn’t trip as he headed towards the stage. He knew no other way down than just...falling.

Quote:
“We’ve also got some snacks, water, ponchos, a small medical kit, and rope.” Hav listed off the strange contents of the bags that had been mostly packed by others and shoved into his hands. “Not really sure about the rope or the ponchos since it wasn’t predicted to rain but hey, whatever. As long as they don't suspect us traveling to space rather than hiking I’ll lug it around.” He shrugged and followed after Venice, eyes taking in as much as he could considering how dark it was even with the flashlights. “This place doesn’t have a central lighting hub thingy? Something you can just hit and it lights everything?” It was so dark in the large a** theater, it was hard to believe that they lit every candle or gas light or whatever by hand. As he was trying not to trip while following his friend, as well as trying to make out the full scale of the space he found himself in, it occurred to the knight of Havasu Falls that unlike Venice he had not encountered these issues.

His wonder was clean for the most part, no obvious wear and tear, and most importantly there was light. It was wired or something because the moment he opened a door or something the lights came on. It was like the refrigerator light or a sensor or something. What exactly Hav didn’t know but right now he really appreciated it. The closer they got to the stage, and the general destruction there, the more the squire appreciated his own wonder.

The young man eyed the damaged stage and asked a hopeful question, “There is a door right? Stairs or a ladder or something to get below?” He had a sneaking suspicion that wasn’t the case but it never hurt to ask. If they really did have to do some spelunking it was a damn good thing that a small bundle of rope was chucked into their bags…. He still didn’t know why one of the maids toss it in but it seemed like it was going to come in handy atleast.

Quote:
“Rains here, saw it once. Rope can help...maybe.” If it was long enough. If not it could at least bring them closer to what he had placed under the stage opening in order to break his fall some. He did hope it was long enough though...it would be nice. “No...candle holders in some places but nothing else. Stage has remains of candle lights.” Like in old theater on Earth where they had the little metal pieces around the edge of the stage and they’d put a candle in it, at least he thought that was right. “Walk to balconies - hallway...has candle holders lining way. If candle holders in this part...haven’t seen.” Not with this area being so damn big and it being as dark as it was. Maybe there was a chandelier...or the remains somewhere on the floor.

“Trying to clean entrance and living quarters….maybe find way to light this area then and clean...don’t know if can repair things or what I can..and can’t.” He didn’t like what a hazard it was...or that it was such a mess, it was a shame and a dishonor to the knights previous to himself. To see this place the mess that it was. But how to even begin and how? “Terry has whole small village….is a mess also…” Those with wonders like Quinn had it a bit easier, in away, they didn’t have repairs like he and Terry, and others, did. They had more nature to deal with than buildings and structures. Time was the enemy here.

“Rains diamonds on Pluto….saw it once. Doesn’t rain them here - just water.”

“No...no stairs down. Maybe once...but nothing I have seen.” He had looked as much as he could safely, he didn’t trust the backstage area...or much of the stage in general. He hadn’t done much looking around the stage area for some way down.

“Want to fix this stage one day...don’t know how though...but doesn’t feel safe.” Already he was climbing his way up onto the stage, careful of walking around as he edged himself towards the gaping holes edge. “Jump down...have something below to soften landing….”

Quote:
“I wonder what would happen if you lit a single candle… if you could find one. Could it be magically attached to all the others lighting them as well? That would solve all your problems but I guess you should make sure that doing that wouldn’t start a fire. It’s not like you have a fire department here.” Havasu took in the damage of the theater. All the debris scattered across the floor, the majority of it wood. A fire here would be catastrophic. Unbelievably bad. What exactly would happen to Venice if his wonder burned down? Was his wonder only the theater? Or was it the whole ‘city’ that his name implied? Or like the village Terry apparently had. He really did need to go to others homeworlds and wonders… it's quite possible to work design elements of their places into his final project. Already his brain was spinning on how to take this decadent, but dilapidated, space into his project.

Maybe altering one of the ‘anchor stores’ into a theater like this. A movie theater versus a stage or would it drive too much foot traffic through the residential area of the second floor… maybe block off access to the second floor from the theater? Or maybe… His mind drifted off as it tried to work with the problem of the project. First floor being stores with the second appartments. Balancing commercial with residential. It would be a fine balance as it was but adding a theater and a gym and a grocery store, the three ‘anchor stores’, rather then just leave the spaces empty for recreation.

The knight had to yank his mind away from his project when it became distressingly clear that they would in fact have to jump into the dark hole that Venice was even now climbing his way up onto the stage to do just that. “Man this just seems like a bad idea.” He shoved his hat up a bit and rubbed his forehead as he took in the dilapidated stage. “I guess there isn’t much choice and you've done this several times already so it can't be that bad.” Part of him wanted to just jump in the hole without any worry about what lay beyond the darkness. To embrace the adventure and rush such a leap would bring. A big part of him. But that was the old Quinn. The old Quinn who had risked his neck to save others. The old Quinn who picked fights with people so much stronger than he was. The old Quinn who was dropped like a hot potato. He wasn’t like the old Quinn. Havasu had responsibilities now, people he had to deal with and who relied on him.

“Aw ******** it.” He mentally shrugged even as he joined his friend on the stage looking into the black hole at their feet. Old Quinn was an a** but if there is anything Hav learned recently, ‘new’ Quinn wasn’t much better. Might as well have a little fun before he died. He nodded absently as Venice assured him that there was a soft landing below before looking over at his friend and saying, “I’ll see you down there” before jumping. Yeah he could have gotten the ropes to use. Hell, he could have used his own weapon to use. It was a rope after all. But where was the fun in that? It wasn’t a horribly long fall. Soon enough he landed on the promised butt cushion that broke his fall with surprisingly little jarring. Once he was free of the landing pad he gave Venice the all clear and clicked his flashlight on to start to take in the new surroundings.

Quote:
Staring down at the other he shook his head once. “Have candles in living area...and hallway leading to balconies. Need to light each on it’s own. No magic for them.” He wished, if he could somehow gain better lighting for this place it would be nice. “Wish had someone dealing with power as knight or senshi...maybe solar power.” So he could get some lights going at his wonder. As it was though he wouldn’t be getting normal lighting ever as far as he figured it.

Letting himself jump down into the darkness he landed, as usual, it was jarring but nothing unexpected for him. He had gotten rather used to the sensation of falling and suddenly, almost unexpectedly, landing on the cushioning he’d set up.

“If can fix the stage I would….don’t know how to...but would be safer. Might find proper way down if going to sides of stage where curtains hide. But too worried for the floor. If stage floor is redone maybe can be found and would be safe.” But how to redo a stage floor, as he was clueless, and how to get everything up here and do it? It seemed impossible with his wonder really. He was doing what he could though to decorate and fix some things. Maybe, if he could get proper lighting in here, clean up the seating area and start on the seats and either find a way to ground them to the floor or find some way to remove them.

The light he had was now pointed towards where he knew there were fabric sheets that had been painted upon. They were backdrops for various scenes in the plays that had once been performed here. Holes and tears and a lot of dulling of the color. Some areas obviously faded to the point of nonexistence. They were there though - lots of them. Costumes also, musty and ruined but of various colors and styles they had once been used and worn by many.

“Maybe something here...with background sheets.”

Quote:
Hav streched and tried to work the minor kinks the landing had given him out as he just visually explored the place with his flashlight. “They actually make some pretty good solar panels now. Even some that stick to windows but I’m not sure how much charge you would get out of those. Still might be worth looking into, that or start ferry supplies up here every chance you got.” The young man wasn’t even sure how often that was for their particular ‘level’. Maia probably told him at some point during one of those ‘you're too stupid to be a knight’ training things she use to make him sit through but he didn’t remember it by now. He did remember that their skills were stronger now so they were able to go to and from their wonders more than when they were pages. Hell, he didn’t even know how many others he could ferry to his wonder beyond one other. If they could do an entire construction crew they could get this place spick and span in a matter of days.

“I bet you could make some stairs from the orchestra pit down here. You would just need to cut a door into the front of the stage and build the stairs. I bet Jessie has a ton of books on home improvement and if not I know she can get them for you.” Jessica Haze was Havasu's’ sometimes employer and Venice’s Korean student/English teacher. Although Hav hadn’t seen her in a while since he took a break from the funky bookstore to focus on his project and his other jobs. “How is she by the way. I assume your still teaching her Korean? You haven’t eaten her food yet have you?” He gave an exaggerated shiver. “Remember… she can’t cook worth a damn so it's safer if you pass.” The young man had tried her cookies once just to be polite… never again. Never, ever, again.

Curious as to what Venice was poking around by, to Hav it looked like a big pile of cloth and junk, the cowboy made his way over to his friend. “Background sheets?” He really had no idea what they were but what ever they were they were in horrible condition; holes, tares, paint all over them. He had just thought they were junk when he first landed down here but it appeared that Venice knew what they were. “What exactly are we looking for anyway? I know he told us but I didn’t really get it. Not even at that meeting when he showed us that book.” Hav really did need to drag the Mars knight to his wonder. Maybe he would find something there that he was looking for since Havasu sure as s**t hadn’t yet. Not that he really had been looking all that hard… or knew what it was he should have been looking for.

Quote:
“There is sun outside...but how to wire them from outside to work on lights in here?” They couldn’t exactly bring someone here to set up things, though it would be nice if they could. “I bring candles here when I come, only time I haven’t, and bedding and curtains I make. Trying to fix things up...not easy.” Though he had also ripped up carpeting, and polished and stained a wooden floor. It didn’t seem like enough, and he knew it wasn’t. This place as huge and he would likely never be able to fix and improve it all.

“Might be an idea...will need supplies -wood. But I can get and make stairs up.” The stage was still a risk but maybe in time he could fix it...maybe Jessie would have a book on it, or be able to find him something. “Jessie is Pompeii….like us.” He said, not sure the other knew yet. Last he knew Quinn was unaware of it, from what Jessie had told him, but it was worth mentioning. “Maybe bring her here to help - to see.” And she could see what sorts of books he’d need. She’d like the place as well, he knew that. Laughing at the reminder of her cooking he nodded. “I remember...never ask for irish coffee - too much liquor. She can’t tolerate any.” Though that could mean alot coming from someone with a good tolerance like himself. He really meant it though - she was a light weight. “Always pass on her cooking though, since you first told me.”

“Gathering of people - remember. And background sheets….what are they in a play? They show background so don’t see behind the stage. Show back scene….backdrop? Like wallpaper but for a play.” He didn’t know anything about theater and yet his wonder...was a theater. It should have been something else but it wasn’t. “Wanted to bring Phact with me to see, maybe help better.” She seemed to have more of a clue than he had. But his request had been shot down, and not by Phact, by that small little senshi with the attitude. She was emotional, she was young, but she didn’t have respect for her elders either. That was something he’d had ingrained into him so to see someone who lacked that, as much as she did, it had been a shock for him and still was.

Quote:
“You might be surprised actually. Never hurts to look into it anyway.” Hav reassured his friend, well aware of the relative ease for creating a simple light. There were a scary amount of youtube videos that were basically that, add in the cost of led strips and it was possible to at least get some light spread out in this dark place. The hard part would be the energy, the electricity. A generator would be ideal but even that wasn’t great, not when it came to cost. And just like that his mind was off and running. He really had very little knowledge on the subject but it felt good to jump into the ‘project’ feet firsts, like he had jumped into the hole in the stage. Now if only he didn’t drive himself sick trying to get it figured out. Who could he pester about the weight limits and restrictions when it came to transporting stuff to homeworlds? How many people could one get up here? What is the time restriction? That question actually reminded the squire to aske Venice what there time looked like. Afterall, when the phone's alarm went off they had to leave. Too many people back on earth would note their extended absence. “As for the stairs and stuff could be cut back on earth and the hand tools brought up to finish the job.” He was going to add more but Venice’s revelation totally derailed it.

“What?! Seriously?” It was a shock but as the idea of Jessie being a knight, he wasn’t sure he ever ran into her as Pompeii, it felt right. Strange, but right. “I guess I shouldn’t be surprised. I spotted her at Xan’s training thing… her and Lucas. You don't think…?” He let his question trail off. “Nah. No way.” Besides it was strange enough thinking about Jessie as a knight. What was she? Squire? Page? Knight? What planet? What was her weapon? A book? That thought had him mentally shaking his head. He couldn’t picture the booklover using a book as a weapon even if it was magical. No way in hell. He snickered slightly at the ‘can’t hold her liquor’ comment, not surprised really. It almost made him wish he was there though to see the drunk booklady.

Any amusement he still had as they started to look through the background sheets faded when Venice mentioned Phact. It still made him wince internally to think about how things ended between them, how badly he had spiraled from the break-up, and where he had ended up because of it. Well, technically he ended up here because of it since his overworking had been a overcorrection of the drinking which was from the startling results of the nega raid. Hav cleared his throat, coughed a bit from the dust, then completely changed the topic. “Right. A group of people…. On background sheets… that are faded…” Each addition to the sentence was more drawn out as the squire poked through more and more of the piles. It seemed like an impossible task, “Oh hey! I think-” Then again maybe not. “Damn. That's just trees, I think.” The rush of excitement he felt at maybe spotting something in the cluster of human like small figures on a background faded pretty quickly when he made out the entire part. Trees. It had just been trees. “I don’t think our luck will be all that great here These seem pretty battered.”

Quote:
He would be, once they got back to Destiny City, looking into figuring out how to do a few things to help his wonder. He might have to bother Quinn later for help, he really wasn’t good at this sort of thing, he knew he would be talking to Jessie and likely offering to take her up here as soon as he was able to. If he could figure out lighting, and as Quinn pointed out, bring pre-built stairs up to his wonder and just set them in place than he’d be happy. That would make a big improvement to his wonder and the ability to spend time here. There was more he needed to do, a lot more, but it was a step in the right direction - especially lights if he could figure that out.

“Lucas?” he didn’t know that person, but it seemed Quinn might know another knight that he hadn’t known about - it was amusing. “She’s a squire, like we are….a youma was in the back garden when I went to visit. Wasn’t good - got all upset with it and had to help her but she killed it.” He was surprised by her level of hate for the thing, though once finding out that a previous youma had gotten at her books...he understood. She really had a thing for books, he hoped no one ever tried to break into her store and steal her books or ruin them - she would be out for blood.

Nodding his head as Quinn repeated his words, already setting to the task of trying to sort through the sheets of painted on fabric, he didn’t seem to be finding anything either. “Put aside anyway - in case. Maybe bring out into light to see better.” Since they were so old and damaged. It might be a good idea to have a bit more light. “Anything you think...put aside. We bring back with us and look at in light - outside or back home.” Either option was possible, so long as they had light. He didn’t mind bringing things from his wonder back to Destiny City, though he was sure some knights or even senshi would be against such things.

“Maybe ancestor would know…”

Quote:
Apparently Venice hadn’t run into the built man who worked at the store as the general handyman, or at least he had when Havasu worked there. Venice didn’t know that he and Jessie were an item which was just disturbing to think about. It was like picturing your mom having sex…. Just gross. Yeah Jessie was an adult woman, one who objectively was quite attractive in a ‘girl next door’ kind of way but still. It just seemed nasty to think of her enjoying the ‘pleasures of the flesh’. So instead Hav focused on something else, her being a squire.

“Well, hot damn. So a youma dared set foot on that hallowed ground. Poor beast.” The cowboy snickered slightly. The garden wasn’t quite as special as the store itself but Hav knew that the brunett spent a lot of time working on it. Almost as much time as her working on the books. May the entire universe help anyone who messed with her books though. That would be equivalent of starting a war, one that wouldn’t end well. “I’m betting she wasn’t happy about the addition to the garden’s fauna.” He continued to chuckle at the idea of a animated garden gnome wandering around or maybe a small sattar, a whole Disney-esque vibe going on. Granted they would all be out for blood so maybe not so Disney after all but it still didn't do much to dampen his general amusement about the whole situation.

Even as he mentally giggled at the ideas he was picturing Hav was carefully pulling out the background sheets he thought were interesting. It had to be handled with care but he was finally able to fold it up with minimal damage. “Back home would have better light but would have to leave them here for now. We have no way of explaining their sudden appearance when we go back. Even a book might be sketchy but this thing,” He pointed to the giant pile of cloth he had justs put off to the side. “Forget about it. Whats our time look like anyway?” Hav asked Venice, it was his cell phone they were using to time their trip. “We should talk to your ancestor anyway but we need to keep our eye on the time.” Overstaying their welcome could have serious real world consequences, something Havasu wanted to avoid. He was in enough trouble as it was.

Quote:
“Yes...poor youma. Accidentally hit Jessie with magic of mine. Know what it does now for sure...or good idea.” And he did feel bad for anyone who got hit by it in the future, though it was also a bit embarrassing - his magic. He was hoping to keep Terry away from it as best he could. “No...broke a garden thing - person...little person. Had one before that got into her store...this youma got that anger.” He knew that harming any of her books was a death sentence really. He wasn’t sure how a human might fair against her if they messed with her books, she did have a love and passion for them. He knew how youma fared - they died.

“When not stuck on house arrest we come back and bring these with us then?” He questioned the other. “Can find a place to look them over and store them - keep safe.” So they didn’t fall apart. He didn’t want to go back and forth with them. If they could find somewhere to store them, safely, it would be good. Who knows they might keep them from further damage anyway.

At the question about time he took out his phone and pressing the home button he glanced over the time. “Have some time still. We’re safe.” Nodding his head he tucked his phone back where he was keeping it, for now. “Ancestor is in personal quarters...not far from here. Can check out office then see ancestor. His English is good...but is Korean also. Is odd I’ve not seen any hanja writings….can’t read anyway though…” Trailing off he shook his head. The best he could do were people's names, those which were written in hanja. Reading it though, like a manuscript or some ancient text, he couldn’t manage.

Folding up a cloth as well, finding it’s design interesting and something to look into, Venice stepped back for a moment and moved his light around so he could find the door to the office. That should be the next place they checked.

Quote:
“Little person?... You mean a Garden Gnome? Normally a short, pudgy, white guy with a long, white, beard and a pointy hat? Didn’t know she had one of those but not surprising. You found the squirrel lately? She likes moving it around randomly to see if anyone notices.” Havasu mentioned, remembering how amusing it was to see the kids so excited at finding the squirrel and the other things she hid in her garden amusements. “I’m surprised there are any youma left in the city if one got into her store and destroyed books. She had never taken kindly to people destroying her precious books.” Hav winced at the very thought of his old part-time boss reacting to her store getting torn up because of a youma.

The squire was pulled from his thoughts of a irate bibliophile by his friend’s question. “Of course. The place to put them should be figured out by then too but yeah, I’ll definitely come help you get these back. Maybe by then we will have at least figured out a easier way to get down here.” Havasu still figured stairs would be the simplest thing but it did require a bit of set up to do it safely so they might have to settle with a ladder or something. “If our time is good then lead the way.” He indicated with his flashlight for Venice to take the lead towards the office. It was his wonder after all. Wandering around down here with no idea where you were going seemed like a bad idea to the cowboy.

“Have you asked him why there is no hanja writings? Honestly I wonder how knights in general are able to communicate with ancestors if they are from so long ago. Wouldn’t they speak another language entirely?” Not that he really cared too much to hunt down his own ancestor to bug them about it… or met anyone’s ancestor actually. His own was always suspiciously absent every time he had gone to his wonder. If he had even a inkling of deja vu at the place Hav would be tempted to say he was a reincarnation considering how absent his ancestor was but no such luck. Unlike Venice, Havasu was flying totally blind when it came to his wonder. Atleast he didn’t have the kind of damage that Venice was dealing with.

Quote:
Ohh, that was a garden gnome, he’d never really seen nor heard of one. They weren’t something he’d ever encountered. The squirrel the other mentioned he didn’t know about, he hadn’t actually noticed one in her garden. He’d look for it the next time though, so he’d shaken his head when the other asked about it. “She did seem rather angry with youma….till magic hit her...was mad again when wore off of her.” He didn’t mention what his magic did, wasn’t sure he should, he didn’t know what the other would think about his magic - it was interesting.

“Good, would like to have place to store them safely set up. Maybe bring other things from here down to home.” So they could look over things, see if there was anything to be found. He didn’t think so though, given the language barrier involved. If it was hanja he could find someone who could read it and translate for him, he was sure of that, but whatever the language of Ganymede was...it was hopeless.

“No, haven’t asked. But Korean he speaks...if from there too. Was born there and trained on Earth - came here then as a knight.” So the spoken language wasn’t an issue, it was easy for them, though he also seemed to speak English well enough. It was more common for them to speak in Korean though, as it was easier for himself and it was a bit of home for his ancestor. Motioning for the other to follow him he led the way to the office. It was small, musty due to being closed up for so long, the floor that was wood groaned and creaked under their weight but it held.

As far as offices went it was normal, it was expected, there was a desk with papers on it stacked up. A few books and a candle holder, made of perhaps gold? The candlestick it held was down to a stub in size while the wick was nowhere in sight. The book shelves held books and scrolls while the draws were closed, able to be open when needed, the office was dusty - covered in a heavy layer of it. Some areas seemed to have a slightly less thick layer of dust, as if someone had been in here within the last year or two. The chair looked like it might break if someone sat in it, and send them to the ground, it was uncomfortably looking with a tiny seat and small back. The legs were spindly and rather small, however they managed to hold anyones weight up would be a mystery, it needed replacing.

“Maybe something in here...found ring in here - Terry found in a book.”

Quote:
”Oh I bet.” Hav muttered. He could picture how Jessie had been seriously pissed, affected by magic, then back to seriously pissed. She was a airhead but when it came to her books very little distracted her. It did make him curious about Venice’s magic though. It had to do something pretty special to stop a peeved bibliophile in her tracks at least for a little bit. The conversation drifted on while he was mentally contemplating the type of magic his friend wielded. The topic change wasn’t a big deal but the idea of carting a bunch of wonder artifacts back was, at least for a safety standpoint. “Before bringing a lot back make sure wherever you end up putting it all is secure. Really don't want to let any of this stuff fall into anyone else's hands.” The very thought of a historian or scientist getting their grubby little paws on the wonder artifacts was enough to give a person the shivers… if a negaverser found them! That wasn’t even worth contemplating. It would be horrible, no if ands or buts.

Havasu kept quiet as Venice explained about his ancestor, his flashlight taking in the battered and aged wonder as they traversed the area below the stage, making their way to the office. His friend was lucky to have met with and talked to his ancestor. He wondered if the other squire had ever asked his ancestor about earth from back then or about the wonder in its heyday. There was so much they could learn from the old guy, Hav assumed it was older man rather than one their age. How did he die? How did this place end up like this? What happened to all the people? Wondering about Venice’s ancestor led Hav into wondering about his own. First and foremost was where were they. He had yet to meet them even after so long. So many questions and no real chance of finding out if his ancestor had any say in it. Bah!

It was convenient that Hav had the office to keep his mind off of his absent ancestor and the annoyance of it. It was a good distraction. A dusty one… very, very, dusty. The cowboy couldn’t prevent the sneeze that stirred up a small cloud of dust when he let it loose, which inevitably led to a few more sneezes until he was finally able to get it under control. “We can,” He had to pause and cough a bit to clear his throat. Man the office was worse than his was on Havasu, granted it really was the only room that was dusty and a general mess rather than Venice’s whole wonder. “I suggest we do like we did at my place. Clean while we are looking. Kill two birds with one stone and all that. Maybe we will find another ring.” He tried to make a joke but even to him it fell a little flat. At least Venice didn’t have to jump off a waterfall to find his ring. Hav absently fiddled with his signet ring before gently picking up a book and brushing the dust off the cover. “Even if we don't find another ring at least you won't have as much dust in here. What do you think?”

“Of course...want to make sure things don’t be destroyed when coming back.” He doubted bringing them back to Earth would destroy anything but perhaps the air and whatever else would? It was a reason for concern and a reason to need some sort of proper, and safe, storage means for anything he brought back from his wonder. He did want to bring some things back though. “Gives room to bring things here - make it more home…”

He’d been trying, and still would try, to bring as many new things into this place as he could - to make it comfortable. Seung had been trying for months now to make this place at least somewhat comfortable and liveable, he was making some progress though given the size of his wonder it seemed hopeless...like drops of water into a very large bucket.

Listening to the other sneeze he glanced up from where he was poking about the desk and it’s draws. “Should bring tissues next time...keep them here...or maybe bring every time…” So they didn’t become dusty themselves, as that would then defeat the purpose of having them.

“Ok...can clean and go over things. Maybe will help towards end goal of cleaning up this wonder. Will be hard - so big.” Shaking his head, and even laughing some, at the others joke about finding another ring. “Maybe not ring but maybe something else. Don’t know what is here. Only saw some things in here. Less dust would be good, need to bring dusters and polish next time.” Anything to try and help this place. A clean office, with things organized, would be nice. It was just...he couldn’t read anything and didn’t know how to organize it all and he hadn’t a clue what was important or not or where to put things. Though he supposed it didn’t matter since he couldn’t read anything anyway - right?

Moving to go through some books he started flipping through them, moving to seat himself on the wooden floor since he didn’t much trust the chair in the room.

“Uh, yeah.” One could almost see the sweat drop over his forehead like in a anime when it became apparent that his friend totally missed the veiled warning he had given with regards to securing anything that was brought back from the wonder. Some things could always be written off as something eccentric or ‘fantasy’ but in the wrong hands it would be way too revealing. Rather than trying to explain though Havasu let it drop. It wasn’t like it mattered right then anyway, since there wasn’t anywhere just yet they could store the stuff Venice wanted to bring back. Instead all the squire did was pull off his hat and jacket, tossing them on the rickety chair that Venice apparently didn’t trust sitting on. He started to pick through the mess that was the office, careful to brush any dust off onto the floor where it could at least eventually be swept up.

“Tissues or really any cleaning supplies,” he commented as he looked around the dusty space. They would be kicking up a s**t ton of dust just by poking around the books and papers. It felt good to be doing something productive though, quite literally getting his hands dirty, after his forced inactivity. It didn’t take long before he was forced to ask, “Don’t suppose you have like some rags or something up here? Even a broom would do. Maybe your ancestor could point us to a cleaning supply closet.” It was fascinating poking around the office but at this point he was covered in dust and wasn’t even sure the magic of powering down would clean his uniform. Hell, at this point Hav was willing to fashion a primitive broom, duster, anything really, to help get this place cleaned up some.

Not knowing he’d missed the real issue, in part because he knew he needed to watch what he brought back from his wonder, Venice continued riffling through books and papers on the desk. Kicking up dust as he went, causing him to sneeze, he pushed dust bunnies and great amounts of dust onto the floor. He hadn’t thought to bring a duster, or anything really, down here to clean up the area. It hadn’t been an area he was working on as much as he should. He was working on the living quarters, down here as well, but he hadn’t really been dusting that area either…mostly because he couldn’t see well enough in order to not knock over things.

Shaking his head, even if Quinn couldn’t see it, to the question. “No….up in entrance area. None down here...too dark to see to clean - risks breaking things.” For his wonder light, or the lack of light, played a big factor in things as it made doing really simple things very difficult.

“Will bring some supplies next time.” Another sneeze from him, he was bringing a face mask with him next time. “Need better lights to clean down here.”

“Makes sense, still sucks, but makes sense.” Hav could understand why his friend had kept cleaning supplies from down here, with no light to really see what you were doing it was just asking for trouble. He really needed to get light throughout the entire building. Durable, renewable, easy, and safe lighting… just that thought had Havasu mentally listing the various products he knew about with a note to talk to one of his professors. It was always possible to discuss green tech in a ‘hypothetical’ kind of way with his teachers. Nothing to give anything away but still giving him ideas to help Venice out. Even as his mind flipped through catalogs and made lists and notes his hands weren’t idle, he continued to do what he could to scrape the dust off the desk and books in the scant light of their flashlights.

“Bless you,” the squire said absently, his mind a million miles away. “No worries man. It can wait till you get proper light. It's not like any of this stuff is going anywhere any time soon.” It had been here for a thousand or more years and it would likely be there for even longer. Wonders were kind of like that, or at least it seemed to Hav. They were timeless. Quite literally outside the flow of time. Although the damage to Venice’s gave him pause in that little theory. “Lets just do what we can till that alarm goes off. Not much else we can do right now.”

“It does...wish could make it cleaner down here. Brought a new bed down to living quarters and candle holders - candlesticks too. Would be good seeing properly. It would be really good if he could see things properly, he could than spend more time here cleaning, talking to his ancestor, and making this place feel like a second home for himself. He wanted to honor his ancestor, and all those before him, by cleaning this place up and bringing it back up to some sort of decent quality.

“No, not much else to do.” And they would do what they could here. Checking around the office was the main thing, since there were papers and more to go through, but they did manage at some point before the timer went off to visit the living quarters. The time spent there was short, really short, spent more talking with his ancestor than doing anything else. He didn’t have answers for them, a shame really, but he did admit that there might be information somewhere in the papers or in the archive room...a tower Venice had seen once before but didn’t think of as an archive. It would, due to the timer going off, have to be visited the next time they came here.

“Next time...more light maybe to better see.” He said this right before teleporting himself and Quinn back to Destiny City - back to Quinn’s isolation.
