Face Claim: Candace Swanepoel
Personality: Fae is a timid young woman, and a tad awkward without her sight. She is slow to make friends, terrified of what her 'ability' may do if she were to make eye contact with them. Once she has made a friend, however, she will often cling to them like a child does to his mother.
Likes: Quiet // Spicy Food // Classical Music // Fluffy Blankets // Bare Feet on Grass
Dislikes: Loud Noise // Lack of Communication // Secrets & Lies
Power: By looking into her eyes, Fae is able to inflict terrible illusions and overwhelming sensory input upon the victim. The illusions themselves do not kill the victim, but the victim may react accordingly ; i.e. a human with a frail heart my go into cardiac arrest because of the traumatic event.
Power Strengths: Fae can control what illusions are inflicted upon the victim, though her emotions greatly affect what is shown. For example, Fae is very afraid and ashamed when looking into anyone's eyes, causing the illusions to depict terror and guilt in the victim's own portrayal or life experiences. Few have survived the experience.
Power Weaknesses: The girl cannot make eye contact with anyone without them being affected by some sort of illusion.
History: Fae Moretti was born blind. Her father, a petty scientist from Italy, set out to correct her disability by any means possible. Many children had been abducted by Fae's father, all of which were used as test subjects. After many years of failed experiments, Fae's father was able to correct her sight - with consequences.
Fae's perspective of the world during her blindness was warped, destructive, and monsterous. Being unable to see forced her mind to build it's own sort of 'picture' of the world. When her sight was restored, the first thing she saw was her father. Their eyes met, and all that Fae had known without sight was projected into his mind. Loud noise, pungent smells, and pain of all sorts bombarded her father's senses, all the while his sight had disappeared. His heart gave out from the overwhelming stress of the event, and he died in minutes.
Since Fae killed her father, she has made the mistake many times of making eye contact with passersby. Sight has been a curse for her since she has gained it. She now keeps her eye closed at all times for fear of killing more people on accident.
Fae has never known another mutant.
