Mag Mell, Knight of Cosmos, had the fortune of saying that he had not had many run-ins with the Negaverse since his purification. It had given him time to properly recover and rebuild his strength over the past year and a half; time to settle into his life with new friends and allies before making new enemies. Fortune could hardly favor him forever, though. His luck was bound to run out at some point and that point was tonight. "s**t. s**t. s**t." Not being able to remember a single thing about his time spent in the Negaverse he couldn't have recalled how convenient it was to teleport during a battle. He could imagine, though, now that he had a General on his tail. He wished that he could remember how the mechanics of it worked. What range did she have? What were the restrictions? Just how close could she... " Boo." The general in her pink and black armor and billowing coat appeared in front of him, slashing at his arms with her claws. He cursed, deflecting her attack with his bracers before throwing a punch back at her. Normally he wouldn't feel this frantic over what should have been an evenly matched fight, at least by their ranks in their corresponding factions, but the way her entire demeanor had shifted when she'd spotted the medals on his chest... He wore them knowing what kind of reaction they might garner, but they mostly spurned conversation whereas she'd instantly turned into a wild, hissing, spitting cat. "I don't think so!" He huffed, hoping that all of this teleporting around was wearing her down as much as running was starting to make him feel worn and very distinctly out of shape. As she reached for him again he began to glow as the aspect of the guardian he served overtook him, satisfied by the hiss he heard coming from the General in response. The face she made and the pause in trying to touch him again gave him another opportunity to run-- one more try to get away before he'd have no choice but to stand his ground and fight back. Aspect of the Cosmos ASPECT OF THE COSMOS: The silvery sheen of starlight covers the Knights of the Cosmos, and their touch is just as heavenly. It's warm and pleasant to most, but acidic and painful to corrupted beings. For the followers of Chaos, physical contact with one of these Knights feels like a mild chemical burn: although it does little in the way of damage, it's hard to tolerate it.

Arachne normally kept his distance from Generals if given the chance. He didn't like them and he knew he couldn't really take one on his own. They weren't worth the trouble under normal circumstances. As he headed in the direction of the one he'd sensed he knew it wasn't normal circumstances though. Along with the General's energy signature was another familiar one. None of his friends would let him live it down if he left someone he knew to a General. Even if it was someone who should have been able to deal with it. He paused atop a wall to get his bearings and saw a white cloak go past. Shaking his head he dropped down, landing in the street between the retreating Knight and the General. "Didn't anyone tell you it's bad form to attack a retreating opponent? Or did you skip that day in evil army classes?"

"Didn't anyone ever tell you that it's in poor taste to stick your nose where it isn't wanted? To get between a General and a traitor?" She snapped, green eyes gleaming as she stared down the senshi, only momentarily distracted from the white knight fleeing ahead. He was a disgrace-- to turn coat and then run instead of facing what he'd done? Pathetic. It mattered not. Wherever he ran she could chase him, find him, teleport after him and reclaim what the Negaverse had lost... Or simply tear him to pieces so slowly. --- At the sound of voices behind him he'd skidded to a halt, cursing as he leaned against the brick wall of the downtown building. Even if the second aura hadn't registered almost instantly as familiar he would have known that voice and because he did he could run no more. The time for trying to tire out the general was gone. Mag Mell drew a card from his belt, turning it slowly in his fingers before holding on to it, charging it with his magic as he backtracked the way he came. He wasn't just going to leave the Senshi of Spiders to the crazed woman-- the other hadn't left him alone, after all.

"Sadly for you anywhere that one of you creeps shows up is somewhere I belong. Normally I'd stay out of a General's way but ... well I know that Knight so, bad luck." Arachne probably should have kept his mouth shut but the day he was capable of doing that the world would probably end. Instead he was probably going to piss off the General. The only plus would be if being angry would make the General mess up and Mag Mell would be able to get rid of her. Before those claws got anywhere near him. Taking a couple steps back as he spoke he held up his hands and called out his attack. Hopefully the General would be distracted enough that the orb he threw in the direction of her chest would actually make contact somewhere. Acid burns were a good distraction and if he could get her pissed off more about that than Mag Mell's defection? Bonus. Quote: Attack #1a - Arachne Venomous Wish![Arachne cups his hands over each other and a ball of violent green energy starts to grow between his palms. Once enough energy is collected the orb is throw at an enemy. Once struck the enemy takes the effect of the harsh acid burning into their skin and clothing. ((Note: The balls can only get about the size of a softball. Now the acid can not be removed from whatever surface they strike and continue to cause burns. The orbs can also now cause splash effects. Near-by targets (enemies and allies take a weaker form of damage equivalent to the weaker version of the attack. This attack can be done twice per battle then Arachne is reduced to his base attack.))] Duration: Instantaneous, the orbs must be thrown within one post or Arachne risks burning himself. Avoidable: Yes. Arachne must throw the balls himself so they're only as good as his aim. Downside: If Arachne can't throw the ball within a post of it's creation the acid orb will begin to burn his own hands. The orbs splash effects can also harm allies if they are close to the point of impact

"Now, now. I know that trick." Not his trick specifically, but she'd had orbs directed her way before-- terrible things, burning things, the thought of which made her arms ache beneath her gauntlets as though her flesh were still damaged despite having healed completely weeks ago. She wasn't foolish enough this time to simply stay put, or to block the orb with her arms. Tourmaline needed her weapons if she was going to stand her ground. Her coat, however, she was fairly certain she could do without. Tourmaline turned so that the orb the senshi threw hit her shoulder, the acid sizzling as it began to work its way through her coat. It took time to shrug out of it and throw the offending object to the floor, time in which she left herself vulnerable, but it was a risk she'd been willing to take. --- "You certainly have a way of getting agents of Chaos to take their clothes off for you." He muttered as he stepped up behind the Senshi of Spiders, the card in his hand radiating a light that grew stronger the more he channeled his magic into it. "I would say 'I had this under control' but that's a shitty way of saying 'thank you'. So... How about 'stand back, I'm not quite sure what this does' instead?"

"What can I say? It's a talent." He grinned. The General's reaction wasn't the best one, given that she'd effectively neutralized his attack, but it meant at last that she wasn't attacking him. The acid was still sizzling on the fabric but unless she was dumb enough to put it back on or fall on it that one was useless. Of course she'd be prepared for an attack like his. That was part of why he preferred youma. They were dumb and they couldn't exactly strip off their clothes. He could do the attack again and unless she wanted to be naked it didn't look like she had anything else to take off. His thoughts about her trying to strip off the leather was interrupted by Mag Mell's voice and he turned his head enough that he could see the knight. "How do you not know what it does?"

"I know what it does in moderation, but I've never actually let it charge for this long before." As he said that he released his focus and the almost blindingly white light vanished as he threw the card at the feet of the General before reaching out to snag Arachne by the arm in order to draw the Senshi of Spiders back. --- Tourmaline had a moment to glare at the two men-- one bright and gleaming and disgustingly good while the other looked so very much like he could have been one of theirs if not for the bright aura of an order aligned Super and that little blip of white-- before she realized that the knight had thrown something. Her eyes were readjusting to the darkness in the absence of the shine coming from whatever the knight had been holding. Had been holding. No longer holding. He'd thrown something. He'd... She had no time to finish that thought and even less time to react as the card that landed at her feet gave off a sudden pulse of energy. It was strong enough to knock her off of her feet, sending her flying back out of the alley and winding her soundly. --- He paused when he heard the sound, fingers gripping Arachne's arm just a bit more firmly as though ready to shove the other man ahead in the event whatever happened hadn't worked well enough to deter the general. He grinned when he saw her fly back, however, gently nudging the other man forward instead. "Let's get out of here... Before she gets back up and starts tracking us again." They only had to make it far enough away to safely power down in order to lose her... Quote: Magic - Supernova! Mag Mell focuses on channeling his magic through his weapon [either one card held out in front of him, or a card that has been thrown/stuck to an inanimate object]. The card shines with a bright, white light that intensifies the longer Mag Mell holds his focus. If channeled in short bursts a flickering light effect can be used as a diversionary tactic. At Knight stage immediately following the charge of light (anywhere from 10 seconds up to the full 50) a small burst of energy expels from the card. The amount of magic focused determines the strength of the burst (anything from a small shove at 10 seconds to a knockback at 50 seconds).

Arachne had a moment to think 'is this really the time to be testing it then?' before Mag Mell grabbed his arm and drug him back. Sure it was a General but with the two of them they should have been able to deal with her without some sort of hail mary. He did have to give Mag Mell style points though. Or he would when he could see again. The energy from the card had been brighter than he'd though it would be and his vision went a bit fuzzy from the fact he'd been looking at the card when it went off. It had gotten rid of the general though. "Right... ow ...next time warn a guy not to look." He rubbed his eyes as he headed in the direction of Arin's nudge. If they could get a block or so away they could power down.

"Next time don't look when I'm about to do something stupid." He flashed the other man a grin despite the very serious nature of the need to put as much distance between the two of them and the general as possible. He lingered close to the Senshi of Spiders as they made their escape, stopping to power down once they'd made it far enough away that he could sense no other energy signature beyond that of the man who'd come to his rescue. After making sure that they were alone and that the alley they'd paused in was void of cameras or other surveillance devices he powered down, running his fingers through shaggy locks of hair. "Thanks for stepping in."

"Next time don't do something stupid?" Arachne powered down once they were hidden and straightened out his sweater before leaning against the wall to catch his breath. "I mean it worked but we probably could have dealt with her without the blinding flash." He paused, looking at the other man. "Your existence piss her off? Or did you do something else to tick her off?"

"Next time it won't be stupid." Next time he'd actually know what the fully focused charge of his weapon's magic did. Spending a bit of time on Mag Mell he might actually knowhow to better control it too. He shook his head as his hand dropped back down to his side, glancing over at Lysander for a brief moment before looking back down the street they'd come from. "From what I gathered out of the brief interaction we had before she decided to try and tear me to shreds, switching sides in this battle is something she takes very personally. Seeing the medals pissed her off more than I did... I think, at least."

"Medals? The ones on your uniform?" In the couple times they'd met before he hadn't really stopped to as what the medals on Mag Mell's uniform were for. It wouldn't have occurred to him they were anything strange. "I figured those were some knight thing." He reached up and shifted some of the bobby pins in his bun since it felt loose, watching Arin as he did.

That brought a soft laugh from him, edged with a trace of bitterness as he shook his head once more. "No, not a knight thing. Those were medals that I earned while on the other side of things. I asked our mutual friend to hold on to them for me the night everything changed. I wanted a reminder of what I'd been and how long I'd been a part of it all so I wouldn't ever forget."

"Then I'd guess you'll have more encounters like that if you run into any Negaverse agents later." He didn't know how Mag Mell had been avoiding them so far but it was probably by choice and probably a good thing if more were going to react like the General. "Might want to be careful going out alone if that's going to happen."

"More likely than not, and I do try to be careful. I tend to be selective when it comes to showing the medals off, but she caught me by surprise and then snapped." His hand came up so that he could brush fingers slowly back through his hair once more. "Don't suppose you'd like to get coffee after that?"
