It hadn't taken a lot time for Jolanta to track the bounty that he was after, that being the janarim pup with the fancy collar. A bit of asking around here and there, offering some coin in exchange for information with some local prentices, and he was on his way. Had they known what the pup was worth they might not have been so quick to help but Jolanta hadn't cared to tell them. The pup was his to catch and therefore the bounty belonged to him as well. The information he'd been given had lead him to a small oasis, too small for people to make use of but seemed to attract a lot of animals, and he found himself a pack of janarim.
It would appear from the looks of things that the one that he was looking for had gotten itself picked up by the pack. Not a surprise given that it appeared to be of similar age to another one that it was playing with. So the thing made friends and got itself lost from its Fire Tribe owner now did it? There was a part of him that debated for the smallest of moments on just leaving the beast were it was. It seemed happy after all... but then he recall how much the creature was worth and that he had to provide for himself. He didn't have the luxury of turning down lucrative work when he had to feed himself, pay for room and board, and various other things. He was too poor to be nice and had no friends or family on the mainland. He was trying to keep himself alive!
After telling himself that he got out some ropes that he'd bought for this trip, tying it into a lasso as he went. He would catch the collared one, lead it home, and he would get himself well paid for the trip. That was what was important, that was what he had to think about. He couldn't think about the feelings of some beast. As he slipped closer the janarim pack for the most part started to get edgy, likely smelling his scent on the wind. It was something that ignored though because while the adults got skittish the collared one just didn't seem to care. It was obvious that it had spent a lot of time around earthlings and therefore didn't think anything of the scent of one. It was something that made it almost too easy as he went up to lasso the creature.
He gave the rope a tug and instead of fighting the pup turned around to look his way, tail wagging, tongue lolling out, and he couldn't help but to sigh. It was probably best for this one to come along with him, back to its owner. It was too friendly and would have likely gotten itself killed out here anyway. It would have gone running up to some hunter and ended up as dinner. A fancy dinner that came with a free collar, "Come on, stupid beast. Let's get you back to where you belong." He said, turning to lead the pup back toward the city.

Jolanta was probably about half way back toward the city, leading along the creature that put up no fight, when he realized that they weren't alone. The pup that the 'bounty pup' had been playing with was following along after them, though at a careful distance. It was something that had him for a moment wondering if he would need to chase the beast off, he then also considered catching it so that he could get a bit more money from someone that might want a pup of their own. In the end though he started to think about himself and his own needs. A mount would be rather useful. He'd be able to chase after targets more easily, he'd be able to have the beast carry things on it's back, there were a lot of reasons to keep a creature like a janarim for himself.
It took him only a short time to decide that he would keep the trailing pup for himself and drop off the 'bounty pup' with his owner. It would be a win win situation for him and that was something that Jolanta hadn't really experienced for a lot time. It was as though he was being thrown a bone to make up for everything else. A surprising win but a win none the less.
Tying off the other end of the long coil of rope into another lasso he tossed it the way of the other pup. After a couple attempts he was able to snag the beast. It struggled for a little while but soon enough it was following along after Jolanta and the 'bounty pup' back toward town. The beast would need training and time to grow but it would be well worth it in the end.
