Throwing herself backwards onto her bed, Bramble made a slight hiss of annoyance. She was bored. She was lonely. And frankly, she was tired of only having herself for company. She missed her littlest siblings and cousins. She missed their laughter and fearlessness. And most of all, she missed their affection.

Wiping away tears that welled up in her eyes, the hybrid rolled over onto her stomach, allowing her tails to thrash in agitation. She didn’t have the time to go visit her tiniest relations right now. And besides, small relatives were all fine and good, but they weren’t really hers. Not the way a baby of her own would be…

Freezing as the thought percolated, Bramble stared in mild shock at her pillow as she followed the thought all the way. Why couldn’t she have children of her own? She was old enough, certainly. Her life was relatively stable. Of course, she didn’t have a partner, but that wasn’t an insurmountable hurdle. Oh, her mother would throw a fit if she had children without a permanent partner, but even then. Partners could be found later. She wanted children now. Sitting up quickly, the hybrid grabbed for a journal and began to quickly jot down the pros and cons of her idea. And once she was done, it was clear that the cons were outnumbered.

Smiling, Bramble set the journal down and sighed. Well then. She’d go down to one of the clinics first thing in the morning. And then… well, then, she’d see how things worked out.
