Birdwatching: Val just honestly likes birds a lot. That's all there is to it. Birdwatching can be a way to snatch a calm moment out of a frantic week, and they like to challenge themself to spot something they've never seen before.
Dungeons and Dragons: They play an Kenku Rogue and he's their beautiful son. (Or a Tengu Occultist, for Pathfinder games. It's birds all the way down. "Could you play another race," someone asks, and Val hisses at them like a goblin.) Pretending to be something else so different from them is something Valentine finds to be incredibly engaging, and with the way real life is, who couldn't use a little escapism?
Soundboards: Val would decline any implications of musical talent, but finding other noises, cutting and chopping and remixing them? They wouldn't say that's musical. They'd just say that's fun. It's hardly voice synthesizing, anyways, it's just syllables and noises to make half-a-voice. There's a lot you can do with a phone!

Friendly: Hi how are you!!! This is Val they want to be your buddy. Hi. Knowing Val is kind of like having a very tall stuffed animal hanging around, in the sense they unobjectively love you by virtue of knowing you. Why hold grudges? Why be purposefully mean? It's easier to just be nice, and to assume everyone they meet is a possible new connection and new friend.
Adventurous: Running blindly ahead into the unknown is one of Val's favorite things, or even just discovering something new by trial and fate and danger. Were this a different universe, they'd be first pick for a first-level adventuring party; as it is, they fit all the tendencies anyways. Discovery! Danger! Doing a sweet flip!!!! All of these are equally cool.
Energetic: Val has a tendency of being at 110% pretty much all the time -- they're filled with energy, filled to bursting, and there's never a shortage of their readiness. Like, seriously, it's bottomless. Val is always ready to cheer up the room in their own particular way.
Flaws:
No Help Needed: Even implying that Val needs help or isn't completely capable of something, let alone that they're failing at what they're doing, tends to get them on edge. They don't want (or need) your sympathy, and they don't want (or need) your help. They can do this by themself or they can't do it at all, don't pity them.
No Sense Of Situation: Even in difficult (or inappropriate) times, Valentine is persistently rowdy, to the point of seeming like they've never heard of things like 'tact' or 'situational behavior'. They're not great at things like 'having an indoor voice' or 'reading the room' and don't seem to plan on improving anytime soon: after all, why would it be bad, haha right guys? ... why are you looking at them like that?
All for Nothing: Val puts 100% into everything they do, and because of that, things not going well tends to hit them worse than it hits other people. Like, way way worse. They always plan for success and take it very badly when there isn't any -- to the point of falling into fits of aggression and misery that they take out on others.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION
Eyes: Pale tea green; one eye appears partially cloudy because of partial blindness from doing something incredibly dumb. There are some things you shouldn't hold up to your face, who knew!
Hair: Short, tight curls, dark orange-red ombre; lots of hairclips. Sometimes there's writing utensils in there.
Face: Narrow face, pinched lips; heavy freckles, tanned skin. Southeast Asian descent.
Clothes: Hillworth uniform. When out of uniform: loose fabrics, usually bare shoulders, baggy pants. Lots of ease-of-movement stuff. Prefers dull reds and blues, sometimes greys and yellows.
