Melody had received orders to help make repairs. She didn't know the first thing about repairing things. It was probably why they had sent her to a very specific location where she was to meet with another Moon that was to help her out - or rather - she was "officially" coming to help them out, they'd said, but she knew it was the other way around.

The task for the day was hanging drywall, and Micah had been told that whoever it was they had helping him was going to need some training, which he figured translated to knows ******** about the job. This probably meant that he was going to be doing most of the work. He just hoped that his helper wasn't going to be completely useless.
He leaned against a wall, waiting.

Melody showed up, on time, which was rare for her. She was wearing a pair of skirted coveralls with a lacier layered skirt just poking out underneath. yup, they sure sent him an expert on this handiwork business they did. She looked confused just being there. "Hi!" She finally squeaked. "I'm Melody!" and she offered the back of her hand to him.

Melody got an extremely skeptical look and a firm handshake. "Micah," he said in response. "We're hanging drywall today. Don't suppose you know anything about it." It was more a statement than it was a question; he wasn't hopeful.

"Not at all," she assured him while nursing her firmly shooken hand. "Why do they call it drywall anyway?"

"It sure ain't wet," Micah said, and handed her a pair of safety goggles. "Put those on."

Melody carefully and painstakingly put her goggles on, making absolutely sure her hair was not to be mussed up too terribly by them. When they were finally on, she smiled brightly at the man. "How do I look?"

Micah waited, watching with a distinctly unimpressed expression as Melody fussed with her hair. "Fine," he said shortly. "Hope you're ready to do some work today." His hopes for an efficient job were slipping down somewhat.

With a resigned sigh, Micah handed over a pair of work gloves as well, then picked up a tube of adhesive. "You know how to use this? You hold it in your hand and use the other hand to push the plunger down. Move it along the stud as you push, and you'll get a good even bead of glue. Try and get it down the center of the stud," he instructed, demonstrating what he was talking about as he did so. "We're doing the upper half of the wall first. Start on the left."
He paused and gave her a quick glance, taking in that she was actually shorter than him, a rare occurrence. Not helpful. "Grab a bucket to use for a stool if you gotta," he added, waving a hand at the supplies in the corner of the room.

Melody was swimming in these gloves, but figured she really wouldn't want to get industrial glue on her carefully manicured hands either. She wiggled her gloved hands in front of her face as if amazed they were a thing - possibly missing part of the demonstration - before paying attention to him again.
She took the tube regardless and wandered over to find a bucket that was sturdy enough to support her weight and turn it over by the left side of the wall.
She started to... sorta... do what he did but lacked any of his control. The substance globbed in some areas and was nonexistent in others, but for the most part was now oozing down the studs.
"Um. Is it supposed to do that?"

The flat look on Micah's face suggested that no, the glue was not supposed to be doing that. He picked a putty knife out of his tool bag and used it to redirect the glue into a neater line and spread it to the bare spots. "Try to push on the plunger slow and even," he instructed.
He had to be patient, he reminded himself. He had much more experience and not everyone had had the on-the-job training he'd had.

"Uhhm..." Melody frowned and offered him the tube back. "I'm maybe not the best choice for slow even pushing. I am still constantly breaking things cause this whole hunter strength... it's confusing..."

"Gotta learn to control it sometime," Micah said. "You don't do it, you're never gonna learn." He didn't move to take the tube back. He had no intention of doing this entire job himself.

Melody sighed and turned back around and tried again. Her results, goes without saying, resulted in quite a lot of "whoops" and "oopsies" being uttered on her part.
