Cordelia had left the apartment earlier that evening to get ready for her shift at the Cat's Paw-- an interesting establishment, to say the very least, with an equally interesting name. Her charge's job had absolutely nothing to with cats and rather than think on that any longer the Mauvian had decided to roam the City of Destiny herself. Eta took to the rooftops, finding it much easier to prowl along up there than it was to be on the streets. She had fewer chances of being snatched or spotted than wandering the streets below and it was nice to not be so close to all of the hustle and bustle. Separating herself from the sound gave her a better ability to focus, whiskers twitching at the feel of a senshi nearby. The petite feline zeroed in on the aura before trotting in that direction, hoping it didn't move before she could catch up to it.

Arachne both loathed and loved that the city had been quiet for the last week. There hadn't been any youma, no negaverse agents causing problems, no nothing. It made for boring patrols even though he should be glad that he hadn't needed to play hero. This particular night was boring as Corvus was working and Thisbe had a test she was supposed to be studying for so he didn't even have company to keep him distracted. The night itself at least was nice. It wasn't too cold yet and up on the top of the city the noise wasn't quite so bad. He'd dropped himself down onto a brick wall surrounding a disused chimney to stare up at the sky.

"Oh, good. You're here! A bit hard to see in this lighting, but here..." The light, airy sound of her voice could be heard before she could be seen, sleek and silver as she stepped out of the shadows herself, rounding the wall before leaping up to land not far from the senshi. She kept enough distance between them that he wouldn't easily be able to reach her in the off chance that he wasn't actually to be trusted despite giving off a very distinct 'Order' aura. Super level, if she wasn't mistaken. "I was starting to think I wouldn't find anyone this evening... Dreadfully dull, don't you think?" Her brow lofted in a gesture that was all too human for a feline face, head cocked slightly to the side. Her necklace rested neatly against her chest, magpie wings spread across her collar, eyes bright and inquisitive.

Arachne cursed when he heard a voice near him and almost jumped up off the wall, instead flinching as he turned to look in the direction it came from. Not so smooth but he really hadn't been paying attention. Obvious given that someone, some thing, had managed to sneak up on him. Looking down toward the voice he was surprised to see a cat, a talking one. It had been a very long time since he'd run into one of those. "Huh ... guess there are more of you." He muttered to himself before answering the feline. "Could be worse. I'll take a bit of dull over what could be happening."

"My apologies, I didn't mean to startle you." The slightly cheeky tone of her voice said that she found a bit of amusement in the fact that she had made him jump, although there was just enough regret at the end for her apology to ring true. "Sometimes I forget that we aren't as easy to 'feel' as the lot of you are, for our own protection and all." The slender silver tabby shifted her weight on her paws, bringing one up in order to smooth over the fluff on her face as she sat back on her haunches. When she'd made herself properly presentable she looked up to the young man again. "Oh, I suppose... But if I'd wanted to spend the evening alone I would have stayed at home. Wouldn't you?"

"I'm not quite sure I believe that." He smirked slightly as the cat grinned at him. She was pretty, some sort of silver tabby, and he was pretty sure he hadn't seen her or heard of her before. Not that Thisbe ever talked about a cat but he was rather sure the necklace would have stuck out in his memory. It looked like something you'd seen in a couture show or inside a vintage case at an antique store. "Staying home wouldn't have actually be a good way to guarantee I wasn't alone. Plenty of people to call to keep me company that way." He was sort of regretting that now that he thought about it. Getting some attention would have been a nice way to spend the evening.

"Mm... Not for me." With a senshi who lived alone whose 'day job' was more of a 'night job' it was sometimes difficult to find companionship in the evenings unless she was out roaming the streets of Destiny City. Sure, she could track down Sumi and spend the evening insisting they work on one project or another, but he had a senshi of his own other than Arsinoe to look after now and it was important to spend tome spreading one's attentions around to those in need of guidance. "Don't you have other senshi that you could call to keep you company like this? It isn't always the best to spend so much time alone while powered up... My, listen to me, I've been terribly rude. Startling you and then asking you questions without so much of an introduction." The silver tabby snorted softly at herself, shaking her head slowly before standing so that she could politely bow her head in the Senshi's direction. "Greetings and salutations. You may call me Eta."

"I only know two others and both of them have non-senshi things to do tonight." He shook his head slightly at the felines question. He had tried to find someone to keep him company but with such a small pool of options there were bound to be nights where he couldn't. "I've done the powered up alone thing for a long time anyway." Most of that was by his own choice and his choice of activities while powered up. He doubted many other senshi would just let him snog whatever hot guy he came across. "Are you out here by yourself? Or is your senshi lurking around somewhere?" He didn't feel anyone else but that didn't mean they weren't somewhere. "Arachne, at your service." He didn't get up but made a rather good attempt at bowing as he introduced himself.

"No one but you and I nearby, from what I can tell at least. I think you would know if there were any other senshi nearby-- another Mauvian might be difficult to sense, we do seem to be a bit sneaky like that, but..." She settled back down onto her haunches, making herself comfortable once more. "A pleasure to meet you, Arachne-- and just so you know? Simply being used to working alone isn't a good enough reason to continue doing it frequently. I've been trying to tell one of my charges that for months now, but she is incredibly stubborn."

"Sounds like one of the senshi I know." He smirked slightly, leaning back on his hands and looking up at the sky again. "Sometimes it's easier to work alone. No one to tell you what you can and can't do or you're just someone who doesn't play well with others." He wasn't quite sure he fell into that category but probably did depending on who you asked. "I usually have Thisbe with me now but she's busy. Hence I'm alone."

"Thisbe?" Her brow quirked as she regarded the senshi, a bit of amusement creeping into her voice as she continued on, tail ticking back and forth behind her. "I know Thisbe. Thisbe is long overdue for an upgrade to her henshin pen, but she won't let me borrow it long enough to make the necessary adjustments." She understood the young woman's reluctance to take on more power, especially with as flighty as she was, but with the Negaverse always trying to push ahead and gain an advantage one had to be ready to take an opportunity as it was presented. "Mm... I don't suppose that you know Sailor Corvus as well, then, since you know Sailor Thisbe?"

"That's because Thisbe isn't sure she's ready for anything. Plus it means even more leaving her sister behind and that's ... it's hard for her to do." The deeper into this world Abby got the more she'd have to hide from her sister. He didn't entirely get it, being an only child, but he knew the two sisters were close. It wouldn't be something that was easy for Abby. At the mention of Corvus he nodded. "I do. Not as well as Thisbe but we've been reconnecting since I came back to Destiny City. That mean ... you're her cat? That necklace is a magpie isn't it?"

"It is." She nodded, seeming rather proud of him for picking up on that. "I'm fortunate to have found her again-- Odd reconnecting with someone you feel as though you should have known all along, though. I feel like I may have come to Destiny City too late, but she's reassured me that I haven't... That there's still a good bit that I can do to help her, and others." It had been distressing at first, but bit by bit she was starting to realize that the Senshi of Vengeance was correct. Awakening Sailor Suttungr recently was proof of that. There were still so many lost senshi to guide and guard after awakening. "Won't be much longer until your pen is ready for an upgrade either, Arachne. It's a lot of responsibility that you're taking on. How have you been handling all of this? Have you gotten all of the guidance you need? Or was your training as lacking as what Corvus received?"

"You say that like I got any training." He laughed, shaking his head. "A cat named Chloe turned me into tis and I've been on my own since. I can't even remember the cat that upgraded my pen the first time. It just happened." It was long enough ago and not something he'd considered all that important so it wasn't a memory that stuck out. "I don't exactly have much responsibility for anything either." He looked over at the cat, brow raised in a slightly skeptical manner. "Other than perhaps Thisbe and if you as her I'm not responsible for her. I just dust youma for a way to relax. If you were hoping to find a responsible senshi sorry to disappoint." He didn't really make a good one. Arachne never had a reason to be a good one.

Eta sat there quietly for a moment, tail ticking slowly back and forth behind her out of irritation. There were so many senshi out there without guidance-- so many senshi who knew nothing more than their name and how to call upon their power. A primer had been put together to pass on information and that was wonderful, certainly, but what had happened to the partnership between the Mauvian and the senshi? What had happened to the leaders among the sailor soldiers? Why hadn't she heard anything about them from the senshi that she'd crossed paths with? "Power itself is the responsibility, as is what you do with it... And if you consider yourself responsible for Thisbe's actions then you are, whether she thinks so or not. You are reacting to something inside of you that is telling you that you were meant to be more." Eta pushed herself up onto her paws, padding closer to him so that she could lightly rest a paw on his thigh. "I am not disappointed in you, or disappointed to have found you... Only disappointed in those who failed you before."
