Arachne wasn't quite sure why he'd agreed to spar with Corvus, she was probably guaranteed to kick his a**, but she'd asked and he hadn't had done anything interesting in a while so it sounded like a good idea. Scratch that. It sounded like an idea. Not necessary a good one. She at least wasn't taking anything out on him after the little incident with Thisbe so that was a plus. She did like to frequent places he usually didn't and the spot she'd asked him to meet her was a bit further out of the city than he usually went. Better for getting into a fight you didn't want interrupted though.

Eternal Sailor Corvus generally preferred to patrol around the outskirts of town. Plenty of lower level senshi and agents of chaos seemed to prefer the inner city itself, but if something was going to happen, and they were likely overdue for something happening, it would most likely be in the park. Of course, the flip side of it all was that she found herself hoping that nothing out of the ordinary happened so that she and Super Sailor Arachne could spar in peace. It had been some time since she'd seen him in action and she wanted to know whether or not he'd learned anything in his absence.... Or maybe she just wanted to be able to give him s**t and point out a thing or two he needed to work on. Whatever it was, she was waiting for him in an area that they'd left open for development, trees cleared recently and a project map posted on a board for all to see. She hadn't looked at it-- wasn't really interested in anything other than the open space that would be perfect for a quick spar.

"Pretty as ever." He smirked as he saw Corvus once he'd finally made it to the location she'd picked. Having taking a look while he was making his way over to the eternal senshi he had to give her credit that it was a good spot. Plenty of space, no one around, no one likely to come around, and nothing they could damage that bad. Probably meant she had been doing things like this a lot. He still preferred not to tangle with the Negaverse. Youma were enough trouble. "I take it you want to see how quickly you can kick my a**?"

"If it's too quickly then I'm going too hard on you or you're not putting enough effort into things, if not both. I'd like to hope that it's neither of those things and that we both get a good workout out of this." A soft smirk touched her lips as she resisted the brief wave of self-consciousness as he looked her over. Fortunately he seemed to spend more time assessing their surroundings than he did focusing on her appearance anyways. It was strange, though, seeing him now after finding out who he was beneath it all. If she spent a moment looking at him she could see the things that were only vaguely familiar due to the magics that protected them-- the hair, of course, the quirk of his lips as he smirked and the way he carried himself were all very Lysander and yet before she never would have guessed it. "It's been a bit since I've used my magic, and I haven't been in a fight since one back at the end of March put me in the hospital. A few training rounds, but... I have a feeling at least one or two people have been purposefully going easy on me, and I'd rather go against someone I don't think will."

"I don't tend to go against people at all." He laughed, turning his attention back to Corvus. "And you can't go easy on youma unless you want to end up as snack food. Not something I'm all that keen on honestly." Hearing she'd been in the hospital was a bit strange. He wondered what she'd gotten into that had gotten her hurt that bad. He didn't remember hearing about anything but then again it wasn't like he really kept up with everything that was going on. He was still too concerned with himself and what he was doing or at least had been. Thisbe made it harder to just think about himself. Shaking his head he shifted his weight onto one foot. "I also know if you caught me going easy on you then you'd make it worse. So none of that from me."

"I don't tend to go against youma as often anymore." Not for lack of interest-- if she happened upon one she still did whatever she could to take them down-- but the smaller ones seemed to make better fodder for senshi just starting out on their path and she just didn't see the monsters about as much as she did other Agents of Chaos. "And you're damn right I'd make it worse if I caught you going easy on me, just like I made it worse for them." She smirked, raising her arms over her head and lacing her fingers to stretch before rolling her shoulders. "Are we ready?"

"I seem to find them more often. Probably means they're talking about me where ever they come from." He grinned as he tucked his hair behind his ears. It was funny to think of the youma talking about senshi and maybe fighting about which one would finally take them down. Most of the monsters seemed mindless but some, the nastier ones, seemed like they actually had brains and could come up with a vendetta. At least if they survived any encounters. Settling his weight back onto his feet he nodded. "Ready as I'm going to be."

"They're human counterparts are more organized than we are, it would make a bit of sense that their beasts trade information too. You might need to start watching out." Her smirk broadened as she let him have one more brief moment of peace before making a lunge for him, sweeping a foot low in order to try and take his out from under him.

"Hunters study their prey. I know they're not as dumb as they look." He smirked, jumping back as she lunged at him. He didn't land perfectly, not having expected her to go for his legs, but caught himself fast enough to press back and take a swing at her with his left arm. "Haven't had any of the Nega's come after me with their pets yet." Given that he tended to dust the things he figured none of them had been able to report back about him yet

" Yet, but they will. Enough of the lower level agents you spend time flirting with will grow through the ranks and they all have expectations. They won't all be willing to let you just be yourself without joining them.... And it can be a tempting offer." She brought her arm up to block his swing, bracing her arm as it came in contact with his before swinging back at him with her other arm. Spars like this were always more like a dance at first until they found enough rhythm to turn into a proper fight.

"None of the ones from my past have popped up to haunt me." They all probably had better things to do than find out if he was still around somewhere. He doubted he really registered on anyone's radar. Other than that little girl who he'd messed up a couple times. He caught her swing on his shoulder as he aimed a fist at her stomach. Nothing that would hurt her too much but knocking the wind out of her would at least put a point on his side.

Corvus stumbled back as Arachne's fist made contact, gasping as she caught herself in a crouch before hitting the ground. Being winded was never a good feeling, even if she had gotten used to the sensation. Generally it meant the activation of her magic, giving her a surge as the power began to flow through her. Something had been different with her magic for months, however. There was no surge, no magic rolling past a dam broken by violence against her. It seemed to be there at her beck and call whenever she needed it, although she'd had no reason to put it to the test. She had learned over the years to not let vengeance fly freely without reason. She took a deep breath as she straightened herself out, eyes narrowing into a glare at the Senshi of Spiders as she whispered the name of her starter attack. " Revenge." Grymoire Attack #1 - Revenge![Once activated a shadow rises up behind Sailor Corvus, looming and shifting shifting until it takes the shape of wings spreading behind her. The shadow brings with it an imposing aura that spreads out to Corvus's attacker, leaving behind a feeling of cold dread as if divine vengeance is looming near.]

He groaned as he saw Corvus' magic taking shape and took a few steps back. "You didn't say we were using magic..." He tried not to use his in spars just because it could be dangerous. The last thing he wanted to do was hurt someone during a training session. The strange feeling left behind by her magic kept him back away from her for the moment. The cold fingers of dread curled over his shoulder stopping him from jumping into another attack while she was down.

"Neither one of us set any terms for the spar, so I figured all was fair... I wouldn't actually use an attack on you that was going to leave any sort of lasting damage." Her Eternal attack, for instance. It was far too draining to use in anything other than dire situations and a spar against someone she considered an ally was hardly a dire situation. She decided to take advantage of his hesitation, rushing him with the last lingering traces of her attack's shadow trailing behind her.

"Yea well all of mine do that." He hissed, bracing himself as she hit him. The sound turned into a grunt as he tried to keep himself on his feet and find a way to push back against her. The strange feeling was starting to wear off but it lingered just enough that he felt off balance. That had to be useful in a real fight. A bit more so than a mild burn if he got an opinion on it.
