Seray sat at his desk, looking through the last of his class work. After he turned this in he would be ready to venture on to senior level classes. He had always felt that he was mature enough to be on that level. He may not have all the same social skills that the other kids had, but he related that back to his race most of the time. However, he had learned quite a bit in his interactions with others, as brief as they were. He learned that the direct route wasn't always the correct one. This revelation really surprised him. As he believed that that was truly how life was better spent living. Now he was aware that being direct and being blunt could lead to hard feelings. He never realized how laborious it really was, socializing that is. Having to think about your words and plan them ahead of time as to not risk hurting anyone's feelings. It all seemed silly, but it was the way of the world. He also learned that girls seemed especially vulnerable to this hurt that came with his bluntness, while guys would lash back and give him a taste of his own medicine the girls seemed to be genuinely hurt. He had made this observation a few times in his note. He had made this change in himself, and he hoped that in his senior year he could make at least one friend, or maybe a life companion as he had seen many around him find.
