Description:
Atlanteans themselves branched off of the now overall extinct Lemurian Race somewhere between 200,000 and 100,000 years ago. They are much more suited for battle and survival than their predecessors. Even with mortal wounds they can still fight on the battlefield based on sheer will alone. They have enhanced forms of regeneration and possess strength that surpasses a great ape. They remain relatively unchanged since Antedelluvian times with the only thing really evolving was their intelligence and critical thinking skills as well as their spiritual prowess and skin tones due to new planetary climates. They are an extraterrestrial race of humans with vast amounts of power and skill. This doesn't mean that they are finished evolving as emotionally and somewhat consciously they still need work. Their arrogance and occasional violent reaction tendencies still plague them in some way. In this case it would be their state of internal affairs. Though progressing better than it was it still is a far cry from being perfect.
Terrestrials
Terrestrials Look like humans and generally have a coffee toned skin but are relatively diverse in skin tone from fair to dark due to evolution on other planets. Their eyes range in various colors including purple, yellow and red. however colors such as black, silver, or white are extremely rare. Hair colors can range in colors of brown, red, blonde, black, silver, and white. These are the most common of the two due to their wider distribution across the galaxy. All modern humans are to an extent descended from Terrestrial Atlanteans.

Aquatics
Aquatics have a human appearance but generally are seen with pale toned greyish-white skin. Through this skin they can breath underwater. Their toes and hands are generally webbed but Aquatics are capable of retracting this webbing between their fingers and toes. Their hair is generally a very pale purplish, silver, or taupe tone and their eyes are usually shades of silver, taupe, or grey with black sclerae. These versions of Atlanteans branched off from typical ones in the Empire's earlier years when doing genetic experimentation, some of these experiments involved finding ways to live in more than one type of environment, oceans and bodies of water in particular in order to make undersea warfare more plausible. These are less common than terrestrials with most of them chosen to remain on earth as they could survive the great flood with ease. Some people in the past may have mistaken these beings for mermaids.

Politics
Classification: Primate Humanoid
System: Democratic Empire. This system maintains Nobility as heads of state but it is ultimately a Parliament that writes and reviews laws according to a Constitution. Parliament can override a veto and members of parliament are elected directly from the people. Parliament can also revoke an Imperial Proclamation if it violates current laws or is unfounded. A supreme court of 13 judges also is a part of this system whom have authority to strike down laws and Imperial Proclamations if they are Unconstitutional. Ultimately the Military is under the command of Nobility and citizens have the right to form militias to thwart Imperial attempts to oppress the population through coercive force. In other words it is very similar to the United States Government but instead has extra safeguards to prevent corruption and coercion.
Values: Atlanteans Value family, friends, honor, love, faith, and knowledge. They are a warrior race and often seen as warriors of justice in the galaxy despite their violent and arrogant tendencies. They are a heavily spiritual people and strive for knowledge and truth as well as strength and power while pursuing love. They have very strong convictions and will fight to protect what they love. They will extend an olive branch to others but betray them and they will kill you with the arrows instead.
Religion: Atlanteans believe that Science and Religion go hand in hand that they are essentially two sides of the same coin and no one can understand the universe without coexistence of the two in one philosophy. Most Atlanteans are mystic types, often seeking enlightenment and guidance within themselves. They are frequent practitioners of Magic with it being a core part in their civilization. Atlanteans believe that even mathematics itself can be a form of spell casting as it is commonly used in scientific research and development of new technology.
Settlements/colonies: Atlanteans have many colonies in the galaxy. Their current capiotal is Ran Prime. Earth is their ancestral homeworld and in recent years Atlanteans have been returning to Earth to either seek out recolonization in certain regions. Other major colonies of Atlanteans are on Mars, Procyon, Fomalhaut, Epsilon Indi, and Alpha Centauri. Some minor colonies include places such as Wolf 395 but most of these have small populations.
Diplomacy: As a member race of the Intergalactic Federation of Light and Ashtar Command, Atlanteans have overall good relations with other benevolent beings. However their enemies lie within the Draconian Collective in which host the infamous Alpha Draconians, the Greys, Mantids, Kyllimir-Auk, and the Maitre. Their relationship with current inhabitants of earth is iffy, generally Atlanteans and other aliens contact earth in secret due to it being an Immature civilization. In fact the Black Knight Satellite that has orbited earth for over 13,000 years is actually currently used as a communications satellite as a means to communicate with earth in secret and advise governments accordingly. The relationship with earth is rather strained due to the tempting offers the Draconian Collective has offered over the years.

Traditions:
Traditions within Atlantean society are often surrounded by their values, Coronations are commonplace and so are personal duels. One of their most well known traditions however is looting the weapons used by their fallen enemies as a way of respecting their dead opponent, they believe that in doing so their will as a warrior is passed on to the worthy victor. They also believe that using your full strength at an opponent that has almost none is exploitation and dishonorable, that it is essentially like killing an unarmed person with a weapon. Instead they tend to hold back when fighting weaker opponents as a sign of respect. This is because of the belief that the best way for a warrior to die is with a hope of winning, not a feeling of despair. That way they can die with confidence in who they were, no regrets, and pass on to the afterlife peacefully with a sense of closure. Because there is no greater curse than to remain as an earthbound spirit doomed to walk in limbo alone for eternity due to regrets and attachments in life.

Conflicts/Issues:
One of their main internal issues is opposing family conflicts. Members of Noble families often fight one another due to either status or plain rivalry. Needless to say this internal power struggle isnt as bad as the conflicting interests within the Parliament. Civil unrest is a big issue due to the Government's unwillingness to act by cooperation. In fact parliament is even more divided than the citizens themselves.
