- Growing up in the projects with two immigrant parents and six younger siblings, Alberto had become all too familiar in his youth with the shady work that goes on in Basin City when the sun goes down. While the rich got richer, the poor begged for scraps. He was one of those beggars growing up, committing minor crimes for whoever would give him enough to feed his family. Little did the reckless young Alberto realize that he was making enemies in all the wrong places. After trying to leave the business for good around the age of seventeen, everything went for the worse. Old employers threatened him to keep silent, believing he was impressionable enough to become a snitch for the local police department. One of his old employers decided to act out on their threat, killing his two youngest siblings in elementary school and scattering their remains all over the city. The situation broke Alberto, who decided to turn himself into the police as an informant in return for his family to be placed into protective custody.
Now much older and mature, Alberto has returned as a top-notch detective in the same city that once attempted to break him. While he fights heavily against the corruption in the system, his true passion remains to be the fight against the mobs of the town who believe they can continue to do as they please. Now that he has been put on the case concerning the death of Gregory Raines, Alberto hopes this may be the opportunity he's been looking for to also discover who killed his siblings.
