Avalon was pretty nervous. He'd been spending a lot of time with Suiravi lately, but he really wanted to introduce the shade to his family. One at a time, of course. His kids were all in school right now, so that left him with Ten. He had approached the hybrid to come meet his special new friend. Though he'd been reluctant at first, Ten did eventually agree. Avalon was grateful Ten would meet his friend... but only after a concert. Avalon never went to concerts, not liking the confined space or the loud noises, plus there were too many people. So he arranged with Ten to come to the park after. He picked up Sui first, then walked with him to the small grove of trees. He would have invited Sui to the concert, but after learning about Shade's amazing hearing, he just decided after was best. "I really hope you and Ten get along..." He mused. He really liked Suiravi and Zaris, and he really liked Ten, so he wanted... everyone to get along. He would need to introduce his children to Sui eventually.




This was nerve wracking. Ten cared for Avalon, a lot, and it frightened him. He tried to distance himself from the other hybrid, but he always found himself coming back to him. There was just something... about Avalon. Ten knew he didn't deserve him, and Avalon should be happy. Ten knew he couldn't make Avalon happy... so when the gentle male asked him to come meet his new friend, Ten agreed without hesitation. Damn. Why did he want to please Avalon so much? With a sigh, he approached the park. He wondered what this friend of Avalon's was like...

He could see that Sui was nervous, and Avalon could understand that. He knew Sui's people didn't interact with others, and after finding out why... Well, he just felt so bad for Sui and his kind! As the Chomp began to hug his tail, Avalon put an arm around him and smiled. "It'll be ok." He promised.

Then, in the distance, Avalon could see the colorful wings he adored. "He's here." Avalon said quietly, raising a hand to wave to Ten.



Turn around, Ten. Turn around and go home. Don't put Avalon through this. Stop clinging to Avalon like a fool, let him move on, let him find someone who will make him happy. These thoughts kept racing through Ten's mind as he approached the meeting place. However, when he saw the gentle hybrid, the thoughts vanished. "Avalon..." Damn. Why did he have to be so selfish? His steps quickened and he reached the tree where Avalon was with... a strange... other person. This must be the friend... Ten blinked in surprise, a little taken aback. Was that a tail mouth?

Avalon kissed the top of Sui's head, trying to comfort him before he slowly released him to give Ten a hug. "It's always good to see you. I'm glad you came." Avalon totally ignored the awkwardness Ten was radiating. "Ten, this is my friend Suravi, and his tail Zaris." He had practiced saying Sui's name. "Sui, this is Ten." Avalon was beaming, looking at the two of them.

Ok... his tail had a name? Then that had to be a tail mouth. That was... unsettling. Ten tried to smile as Avalon grasped his hand and pulled him closer. The Fallen/Elf hybrid was shorter then Avalon, standing only 5'5, and he had many piercings in his face and ears, and one visible in his belly button. "Hi... nice to meet you both?" Was the tail really... ... no he wasn't going to think about that.

It was nice to see Zaris wasn't timid, but he had sort of gotten the impression that Zaris was the outgoing one of the pair, given how they had met. When Zaris attempted to lick Ten, the Fallen jumped back a little. Avalon gently pet Zaris. "Sui and Zaris are a Shade." Avalon explained. "Please correct me if I get anything wrong, Sui." Avalon explained what he knew, what he'd learned from Sui, and what he'd managed to learn from others in passing. They had come from the swamp with the Chomp, and a long long time ago, they had been hunted. "I still can't understand how anyone could ever think someone so cute is a monster." Avalon lovingly squished Zaris's snout/mouth and kissed him, then turned back to Ten. "And look, you two have the same fashion sense. Half naked and decked out in music notes." Avalon draped his arms over Ten's shoulders and played with the music note earrings.



OH BY THE NINE THAT THING TRIED TO LICK HIM! Ten pulled back, a little afraid of that large mouth...tail... thing, even as Avalon explained they were part of the same creature, but... wait, did it maybe have two brains? Ok ok, he could do this. Maybe the tail was... like a familiar! Yeah! One that... Suiravi was born with. Ok, he could do this...

Though when he saw Avalon kiss that tail thing, he did feel a little jealous. And then Avalon had to point out that they were both kinda half naked. He blushed deeply and opened his mouth to protest, but Avalon continued and played with the dangling music notes hanging from each of his lobes.

"...You know I like... music..." He murmured, putting an arm around Avalon. He looked at Suiravi and Zaris. "Do... you like music too?" He could do this, he could do this for Avalon. Avalon seemed to really like this guy... Actually, Avalon hadn't acted this way around anyone but him before. That made him feel a little jealous, and REALLY guilty. Would... Avalon give up on him for this little guy?

Avalon laughed. "Oh, I don't know if he's the best. He's certainly the more outgoing of the two of you though." Avalon smiled at Sui when the other hid against him. He put his arm back around him and smiled. "And I'm... not complaining about your outfit. I think you both look very fetching just the way you are." He ran his fingers through Sui's hair a little. How could anyone think these sweet creatures were monsters?



He was not jealous. He was not jealous. He was not JEALOUS! Avalon sure was paying a lot of attention to Suiravi, and... Maybe Ten didn't like it so much. Was this really what he wanted? Did he really want to... push Avalon away? Could he stand to see the sweet hybrid with someone else?

Not so much.

Ten reached out and put his arms around Avalon as well, looking down at Suiravi. "I... I can sing for you... some time. If you like... I'm sure that would make Avalon really happy too. The smile on the taller man's face proved what he said was right. Ten folded his wings back to keep them out of reach of that... mouth tail... thing. He was still wary of that, but the little guy it was attached to? Ok, sure, he was petite and kind of cute.

Avalon was a little surprised that Ten hugged him. He smiled a little and kissed his temple, then looked at Suiravi when he stepped back. What... was wrong? He listened to Sui, then smiled at what he said. "Thank you, Sui." He closed his eyes and smiled a little wider.

"...I know that look, Avalon." Ten said suspiciously. Avalon laughed. Ten felt... really jealous now.

"You do, hmmm?" He opened his glowing eyes, looking almost pleadingly at Ten. Ten sighed, and looked at Sui.



"...So... you're a shade, huh?" Well that was stupid. "And, your tail... is sentient? Are they like a familiar or something?" Avalon clearly wanted them to get along, so Ten was going to do his best... for Avalon. The Fallen's face blushed a bright pink. He probably sounded so dumb.

Avalon reached out a hand towards Sui, inviting him to re-join the hug. He liked having all his favorite people close by.

Ten blushed even more, but then his green eyes widened when he saw the shadow piano. "That... ok that's cool." Ten was in awe, slowly letting go of Avalon to look at the shadow keyboard. But his hand went right through it when he tried to touch it. "I haven't... seen magic like that before." Then Sui said something REALLY embarrassing. "B-beloved?" And his face was hot. He was probably bright red. He was really red, wasn't he? Ten bit his lip, playing with the ring on the side of his lower lip.



Avalon just couldn't help it. He began to laugh again at Sui's words and Ten's reaction. "You are simply too cute, Sui." Avalon turned to look at him. Ten blushed and folded one arm across his chest, sort of hugging himself awkwardly.

"Avalon and I aren't... I mean, I think you might... misunderstand..." Ten looked at Avalon for more answers.

"I love Ten." Avalon said, to try and clear the air. "But I also really like you, Sui." He leaned forward so he could be more or less eye-level with the Shade. "I want to spend a lot of time with both of you."

"Ah, I thought so..." Ten laughed, looking away, covering his blushing face.

"I really like you both, and want you two to get along, and maybe even like each other." Ten nudged Avalon with his wing. Now it was Avalon's turn to blush. "You aren't... coming between us. I mean, if you're both ok with something like this..."

Avalon reached out and hugged Sui. "One and only? Ah, well... I would really like a large family." He blushed. "We don't limit ourselves to one love." Avalon was trying to explain. In his nervousness, he started playing with Sui's hair. "And I like you. And I like Ten. I was hoping you two would like each other. If you did, I was thinking maybe... We could perhaps pursue a relationship... you know. See how it goes?"



"Yeah, and not everyone mates for life. Some people... will just imbue with another and raise their children, but there's not really any romantic inclination." He looked at Avalon and sighed. "But a lot of people will marry off in pairs, or in a triad." Avalon nodded along to Ten's words.

"I was maybe kind of wondering if you wouldn't perhaps be interested in seeing how... the three of us could work together. I mean, there's no commitment right now. But maybe we could all... hang out? Date? All three of us?"

"I suppose if could be seen as strange..." Avalon was trying to look at it from the point of view of someone who had never given thought to a triad. "But you know, commitment takes time and effort. Ten and I are putting in the effort, but we're still... working on the time." This made Ten blush a little. "And I've spent some good time with you, but there hasn't been much effort, at least not on my part, to pursue a real relationship with you." He smiled at Sui. "Even... if you never want to embue, or if we only ever embue once, I think that would be alright. But, there is nothing to hide from when you are with me."



"Avaloooooooooon you're so mushy and romantic..." Ten was blushing too. "But I mean, I guess I can sort of get it... I know I'm not being fair to you, I want you happy, and Sui, you do make Avalon happy." Ten could tell, even if Avalon hadn't talked about the Shade a lot. "I mean, I don't know you yet, but... I could see us, you know. Hanging out... Maybe we'll click too?" He shrugged. He wondered if they would, since he loved being in the spotlight, but the Shade, Sui, would rather hide. "You know... Avalon, you're like the happy middle." Woops, he said that out loud. "I mean, I like to be seen by everyone... and I'm thinking Sui doesn't want anyone to see him. You're ok with being seen, and don't mind being overlooked. Oh for ******** sake, I sound really dumb, I'm just going to stop."
