Sascha had expected the finale of Superstar Authority to feel like, well, an ending. It was over. He lost. Runner up to his hometown. Runner up to the title. Two plus two equaled zero in this case. Disappointment, but not surprise scraped at the edges of Sascha's thinkpan. Well... Some surprise. Frossa was a ringer from the start, and Sascha knew the little mutant had the makings of a starlet. What he hadn't foreseen was the fervor of Autumn's fanbase. She was from Chittentown and he hadn't even known.
With no more hoops to jump through or judges' panels to impress, Sascha had at least counted on feeling some measure of release after Razzle had read the names. Sascha's poor luck followed him off the stage. The competition was over, but he still felt fit to burst with pent-up energy. Sascha was
famous now. He may have lost, but he was a loser with publicity. With fans. Superstar Authority wasn't going to do the work for him anymore, but the pieces were all there laying in wait for Sascha to propel his name to greater heights. What was the next step..?
It took hearing his actual name for Sascha's attention to catch on Fellah's words. Sascha turned from the green EXIT sign above the backstage doors. He hooked his fingers into the collar of his blazer, making sure it didn't fall off his shoulder where he'd tossed it. Even under the heavy stage makeup, Sascha looked tired. He blinked slowly as he caught up to what Fellah was saying to him.
That's right. He knew Fellah from before the competition proper. He was another one of Aandes' many contacts. Sascha remembered him vaguely from the Bloodfest Fellah was referencing. They'd traded posts at the karaoke booth. Sascha had been so keen to hit up the other booths he'd never stayed around long enough to chat. Hindsight was practically infrared on that one. Sascha was really lousy at networking.
"Yo," Sascha greeted, taking Fellah's offered hand and shaking it firmly.
"Feels kind of silly doing introductions after all that. Thanks, though. And you too, man. Not quite as much for the special effects, but that's your brand, right? Good job playing that angle. It clearly worked out for you. Congrats." Sascha's grin was shallower than usual, but not insincere.
Unaru
I'm down for whatever! Sascha doesn't have an artifact, but he's got powers, so these two should be on a pretty even playing field.
